RomanceRe: Why Do Men Run Away From Educated Women? by WesleyanA(f): 5:44pm On May 06, 2007
that's a generalization.
illiterate men are more likely to go with illeterate women.
and educated men are more likely to go with educated women.

there are exceptions obviously.
TV/MoviesRe: Is Nollywood Racist? by WesleyanA(f): 5:17pm On May 06, 2007
nollywood most definitely isn't racist.
Nigeria is 95-99% black and the consumers of nollywood movies are also black (africans at home and abroad).

we really don't need whites in our home videos. even though it might not hurt to have 1 or 2. it's not like they watch our movies or anything.
have you seen osofia in london? that movie has whites in it. lol

give 5 solid reasons to convince me that there should me whites in nollywood.

like sisimose said, there are no blacks in bollywood because bollywood is indian. there aren't whites in nollywood either because nollywood is nigerian. lol

Pym Pelil *****@universityofnigeria.com
Pym Pelil
Box 724
Mt Hagen,WHP,PG na
pym pelil is not a nigerian name, neither is Mt Hagen a location in Nigeria.

even just by reading the description in the main site, one can figure that the website is satirical. but the satire is based on a stereotype and that's why i find it disturbing.
it's a crude joke that i didn't/ don't find funny.

read this page and you'll be convinced that the author of that website is a non-nigerian or a nigerian that HATES nigeria. non-nigerian makes better sense though.

You're not Nigerian are you? You don't "sound" Nigerian.
FoodRe: My Boyfriend Buys Me Buka Food! by WesleyanA(f): 10:20pm On May 05, 2007
my advice:
next time you visit him, bring some cash along with you and take him out to the nice restaurant you like. pay for it if he's stingy/ broke or just poor. lol
maybe he'll get the message from that and be the one to ask you out the next time.
just tell him you feel like going out and tell him you'll pay for it.

see how he goes and you can come back and tell us what happened, if it failed etc and we'll see how we can help. lol

i totally get where you're coming from. but I just think you should be able to tell him this blatantly w/o him getting mad. just tell him when he's about to go out to buy buka food "i don't feel like eating buka food today. come with me to the restaurant, i'll pay for it if you want" simple as that. If he gets mad, that's his problem.

unlikely here in Nigeria, one of them has fake education site.
No. it wasn't a Nigerian who created that site (i hope not).
It was a website making mockery of Nigeria and it's infamous 419 reputation. whoever created that website is a loser.

Christianity EtcRe: I Do Not Believe in God by WesleyanA(f): 9:16pm On May 05, 2007
there certainly are stuff that happen that aren't logical.
plus, I've gained back my old confidence when i started reading passages in the bible back again. That feeling that there's someone greater than everybody backing you up.
yeah it's weird. but true. I still question but it's normal to question i guess. Elie Wiesel questioned. I would have, if i were in his shoes too.

wesleyana
i too have been there,
does this mean i won't end up in hell after all? lol

seriously though. even if we don't know if he exist or not (my faith isn't all that solid strong yet) just think about what if he did. . .

Christianity EtcRe: I Do Not Believe in God by WesleyanA(f): 8:58pm On May 05, 2007
what i found out is that it's fruitless to argue religion.

christianity is not a religion of logic. Because of how most of the stuff in the bible didn't make sense to me and some of my pastors preaching never made sense to me, i was thinking too that God didn't exist but i was scared that if he did exist (. . .if) I'll go to hell.

i'm about 80% believer now. even though i still think I'll end up in hell for doubting his existence.

like my pastor told me "God is not a God of logic. he does his stuff in mysterious ways" i guess that's a good explanation.

it's normal not to believe in God for a while i guess. maybe you're going through that stage of questioning who you are and what your place is in life. I knew i was going through that stage. I still am sort of.

There is definitely such thing as evolution though.

sigh, i'm still confused

wow shocked shocked that's awesome. cyber-space school!!! technology works wonders i guess.
i've seen the ads but i never thought they were real.

It sounds cool but i guess i'll rather attend college somewhere out-of-state. I visited a few and thought they were nice.
plus you can do whatever you want. no parents etc but there's more responsibilities.

that's why i thought you guys can share your stories here. does your college look nice etc

@uspry, do they mail your diploma to your house or you have to print it from the pc? do they mail stuff to you and such? don't know how online schools work but that's really cool.

congratulations on your degree!!

these are more like "average/ normal women" but modern American standards will consider them to be "fat"
being skinny is the "average" now. it's sad.

AdvertsRe: Freebies In Nigeria by WesleyanA(f): 4:51pm On May 05, 2007
"all the sites where you can get free perfumes and jewelries" are fake. they infect your computer with viruses and even if you live in the US, Britain or wherever don't give them your name, address or bank account. you won't get any free stuff wherever you live. they don't deliver anywhere

If those websites were real don't you think all the perfume and jewelry stores will run out of business by now.

nothing is free, sorry.
RomanceRe: Why Are Most Nigerians Guys Feeling Reluctant To Marry? by WesleyanA(f): 4:44pm On May 05, 2007
mazaje:
Marriage and children to me are highly over rated, a man should have fun and enjoy his life with out too much complications. to all the bachelors in the house marry only if you really want to if not have fun and enjoy the few years you have to spend here on earth with out some nossy wife and kids comlicating things for you.
'cause they feel marriage and family is overrated. plus they want to have fun.

me thinks they love making babies though. 'cause why else does Nigeria have 150 million people.

TravelRe: Nigerians Abroad And Their Lavish Show-off Lifestyle, why? by WesleyanA(f): 4:36pm On May 05, 2007
i don't think it's a "Nigerian thing" either.

i know many nigerian families living according to their means and some who don't. this definitely goes for people of other creed, origins too.

some people believe in spending whatever money they have. they work hard 3 jobs etc why not throw big bashes etc
while others believe in moderation.
and there are others who work really hard but never spend money. dress raggedy and are cheap.

so whatever float ones boat, i guess. but sometimes a moderate person will not understand while others are being so lavish
while the wastrel will never understand the miser.

i personally believe in moderation, i can never understand people who live the whole show-off lifestyle. but i understand it a little bit though. They crave attention it seems. but that's just an assumption.
PoliticsRe: Some 'Experts' Are Advocating A Two-party System by WesleyanA(f): 4:08pm On May 05, 2007
I definitely DO NOT support a mandated two party system. that's cheap ticket to tyranny.
what happened to democracy. If we don't like either party why shouldn't a third party be able to spring up?

if these "experts" are looking at the US because of the unofficial two party system here (i hope they're not), then they're fooling themselves.

Our experts should instead find a way to make the parties that exist more legit. many of the lesser parties in Nigeria that share common ideologies should merge so they can compete with the big ones.

spoilt:
being thin will probably not make you happy either. first you have to love yourself however you look.
i agree.

people will always find something to make fun of. Just love yourself is the key. your pic looks nice. you make it seem as if you're 300 pounds or something.

when i was younger, all the fat people got compliments and skinny people were made fun of. i guess things have changed a little.

but anyways, you look pretty healthy to me.
