The same goes for deep Ekpeye I wouldn't have taken note of your post, if not for my first hand experience at Ikwo. Went there with my cousin for a certain business. I couldn't understand a single word they say. It was hard to believe what I was hearing was an Igbo dialect. |

24SEVEN: Whatever your hear the Ikwerres speaking as language and bearing as names is our clan version of Bini. Also any culture we practice is our very own Ikwerre-Bini culture. Don't lose sleep. This mean the Ikwerre have no unique cultural identity of their own. I've heard them speak their dialect, and it is nothing near any Bini tongue. You and your people seem to believe that adding the consonant "r" as a prefix to Igbo words automatically make them a Bini version As an Igbo, I wholeheartedly believe Ikwerre are not Igbos. Their language and culture has nothing in common with those of the great Bini kingdom either. I also think its time you stop borrowing and corrupting Igbo words. We don't want to be found guilty by association. Anyhow, it is not too late for you and your ancestors to find your way back to where you might have fallen out from. I can borrow you my compass and flashlight for the quest You might want to organise an ultimate search for your youths to try and locate your roots. Because that time when Nigeria has to redefine itself based on ethnic nationality is fast approaching. You are neither here nor there. Pity. |

[s] post=91149298: May it never ever be well with the evil and looting party that brought this evil Boko Haram into our nation..
These Criminals couldn't do anything for more than a decade and watch Boko haram kill thousand and thousands of innocent Nigerians. That people could not go to their place of worship for over a whole year. Back then, if you see an ordinary polythene bag (nylon of akara) on the floor, everybody start running helter skelter thinking it's gonna be an explosive/BOMB! (It was that bad!)
Same evil party that denied Boko Haram kidnapped 286 of our teenage girls before the world stood up to burst their bubble!
They rather share the BILLIONS meant to procure ammunition for our soldiers to tackle this Boko Haram insurgency (when it was still at infancy) among themselves and watch our soldiers die!!
Only people with chicken brains must have forgotten all these atrocities in less than 6 years. That is why we call them hypocrites and children of hate, perdition and frustration. (They are trying to tell us that this raped, battered and looted nation by their party of looters was like Canada or Dubai pre 2015!)
Kidnappings, Daily Pipeline Explosions etc were the order of the day. More of the reason we sent the ineffectual buffon packing.
A senseless wailer was telling us here yesterday that before Buhari became President, Borno and Katsina was peaceful, we replied him that before PDP brought Boko Haram to our darling country, the whole Nigeria was peaceful, he kept shut and never responded again. Shameless criminals supportingevil.
Our darling country will win this war as a nation, and all the politicians sponsoring these killings along with anyone supporting them will all die miserably and terribly in due season.
God bless Nigeria.
*********** ************** ***************
The greatest tragedy that can befall a nation is for her citizens to suffer collective amnesia. We believe PDP believes Nigerians have short memories, For those who may have forgotten, kindly joggle your memories with the following words on marble and you will agree with us that what happened during thier 16 years of looting was nothing but gathering of rogues. Happy reading:
1. I acted based on Jonathan's instruction - Dasuki
2. I didn't give order - Jonathan
3. I collected 350M from Dasuki for consultation - Iyorchia Ayu
4. I only collected $30,000 from Dasuki not N100m - Bode George
5. I got N4.6b from Dasuki for spiritual purposes - Bafarawa
6. I got N650M from Dasuki for my Abuja burnt office - Thisday Obaigbena.
7. I got N2.1b from Dasuki for publicity - Dokpesi
8. I got another N100m from Yuguda he didn't tell me from where - Bafarawa.
9. I gave N100m each to Odili, Jim Nwobodo Bode George and others - Yuguda
10. The president asked me to change N10B to foreign currency for PDP delegates - Dasuki
11. My boss asked me to get $11M from the CBN - Dasuki's account officer.
12. I got order from above to pay Tompolo N13B for Maritime university land. - Nimasa DG.
13. 950m was shared in my house -- Shekarau
With all this looting and many more revealed, some people are still shouting no sign of change yet, they even say it's political persecution.
But I believe, it is the right thing to do. If you believe too, send this to other people to garner more support for the fight against corruption and looting in our nation. There must be consequences for such crimes otherwise Nigeria will not develop.

Yampotatocarrot: You know Afor-Oru market? You be area o... Lol
Question now becomes, is there any area in Imo state where one can get land that is FERTILE enough for agriculture? Someone already mentioned that Okigwe area is out of it cos of the rocky nature of the ground there. Which area can one face now? As for fertility, that isn't guaranteed. But since you can make a barren land fertile yourself, it shouldn't be the main yardstick for purchasing farmland in the SE where it is in short supply. Not all part of Okigwe is rocky. If you get reasonable offers there, go and inspect the land to see the amount of stones in it. I learnt about farmlands for sale at Mgbidi over 3 years ago, but I didn't follow up due to lack of funds. Not sure they are still available now. Also learnt about lands at Okigwe, after Umulolo. My inlaw went to check it out, but was a bit discouraged due to it's remoteness. He wanted something close by a good road. But lands like that would be too costly. I got info on lands at Eziobodo. Want to send someone to inspect and give me feedback, then I can decide. Generally, farmlands would cost about 200k per plot and above. For me, I'm not averse to farmland any location in the SE, so long as the place is easily accessible and motorable. Only thing I'm wary of is the menace of herdsmen. |

proeast: You're right. I was shocked when I got to village in Mbaise and discovered that lands in interior communities now goes for as high as one million naira!! I mean lands in a rural community!!
I think very high population density is causing it and areas around Mbaise and Owerri is highly populated. You're not exaggerating. I have witnessed this first hand. But then, I know people who are snapping up lands around there, especially in places with close proximity to Afọr-Oru Market. Which is how I got to know the very scary price that a small piece of land commands around there. This person told me that, if I think land is expensive now, then I should wait for 10 years One other reason why land tend to be expensive is from the way land is fragmented to be shared among siblings. For instance, a piece of land no bigger than a plot may be owned by 3 brothers who inherited it from their father. One may decide to sell his own portion, while the others aren't ready to sell yet. To induce them to sell, a potential buyer will have to offer something above the prevalent market price. Once the transaction is sealed, others who own lands around there take note of the price at which it was sold and that becomes the price at which adjourning lands are pegged. Bottom line, prices are driven upwards by short supply and the sentiments attached to land. Which makes me laugh when ignorant folks from the SW say that Igbos don't sell land to non Igbos. The very few who dared were scared shitless from the high price, and felt it was a ploy to dissuade them from buying lands in alaigbo. |

Abagworo: You are right. The Southwest adopted centralized settlement which actually created space for forest preservation and availability of large cimmunal lands for farming. The Southeast has a pattern of settlement that wastes land I don't entirely agree with this. Like most part of the SE, the SW isn't planned around major settlements. Just happens that the SW has so much land mass compared with SE. Like the SE, the Yorubas also site their rural settlements in close proximity to pre-existing ones for security reasons. They just have more fallow, uncultivated land, which the SE doesn't. |

Most of the people who started this building are now deceased, but their children needs to see this hall completed. The people that built this house were not even literate, a few masons and other workmen but you can see how solid their work looks. Very impressive! In those days, if a block moulder tells his client that a bag of cement will be used to mould, say 30 blocks, the client would ask, can you make it 20 blocks instead? I want the blocks strong as a rock! Times were relatively good then, and most people won't cut costs. Even at that, some poor quality concrete nails still bend before you can hammer it halfway into the wall. |
Politics › Re: Before You Blame Anyone For The Gunshots In Aso Rock, Read What Truly Happened by whirlwind7(m): 8:04am On Jun 14, 2020 |
Gjrich: Before you start ascribing blames to any one over the gunshots in Aso Rock, you need to know what truly transpired in Aso Rock between the First Lady, First Family, Aso Rock Security, Chief Security Officer to the President and the President’s Personal Assistant, Yusuf on the 12th of June, 2020.
It all started when the Personal Assistant, Secretary and Cousin of President Buhari, Mr. Sabiu Yusuf returned from a journey from Lagos State to the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock. The problem started when two of the most powerful relations of the President started checking power, a power tussle. The Wife of the President, who holds the key to the President’s heart and partly his life and the deepest vein of the President, his cousin who is at the same time his Personal Assistant and even his Personal Secretary, created a scene at the Villa last night.
Returning back from the trip, the President’s Wife Aisha Buhari and three of the President’s children; Zahra, Halima and Yusuf together with some security personnel led by the Aide-de-Camp of Aisha Buhari, Mr. Usman Shuabu, kindly went to Mr. Sabiu Yusuf, who just arrived from an interstate journey, just to spend the weekend alongside some five girls from Daura, Kano and Abuja, was kindly asked to self quarantined himself in his residence inside the Villa so as to protect the lives of everyone; the President’s inclusive.
Aisha Buhari enjoins him to do this because she, Aisha Buhari believes that he, Yusuf may have unknowingly contracted the virus because she has Intel that Mr. Yusuf had met with some of the contacts of the late Former Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Maikanti Baru, who recently died of COVID-19 complications. The President was in the villa and the First Family must do everything in their power to make sure his health is not compromised; also the Security Personnel’s top priority is to protect the First Family, majorly the President. Thus, they told Mr. Yusuf to go and self quarantine himself away from the Presidential Villa. Instead, Mr. Yusuf, who is absolutely, one of the richest youths and definitely the most powerful youth in Nigeria today, decided to wave away the instructions and forced his way into the Presidential Villa to see the President.
The First Family, especially the First Lady became so angered owing to the way Mr. Yusuf defied her order and primarily the NCDC’S which states that anyone who has traveled interstate, should compulsorily self quarantine. The First Lady then told some securities of the First Family, to forcefully, if need be, show Mr. Yusuf his way out of the Villa.
The scenario birthed a heated argument as the Personal Assistant to the President, Mr. Yusuf claims that his wife just delivered in Lagos and he had to go see her. Moreover, he claims he was not the only one who travels to Lagos, in defiance to the interstate lockdown order. Mr. Yusuf tells the first lady that, she knows that the new Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari does travel to Lagos State, virtually every weekend. Yet, he was the only one that was victimized of the accusation.
Still, all force was applied on him and when he showed too much adamancy, the ADC of the First Lady, Usman Shuagba, in an attempt to apprehend Mr. Yusuf and throw him out of the Villa, allegedly fired a gunshot, which cause disarray in the Villa. As for Mr. Yusuf, he quickly finds his way of the Villa and immediately went to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Adamu Muhammed to report the incident, which later led to the arrest of the ADC of the First Lady.
Currently, all the securities of the First Family who were involved in the gun violence had been nabbed by the Federal Police Force and they are in the Police Cell. They were all arrested based on a principle in their code of duty that no matter the provocation, firing the gunshots in the Presidency Constitutes a “Security breach”, which they are guilty of. The wife of the President has taken to her twitter account to ask for the release of her securities.
In your own pool of opinions, based on the exclusive information that you have consumed on what truly transpired in the Aso Rock, between the Powerful Forces from different tents, the Tent of the First Family, which constitutes the wife, children and securities of the President and the Tent of the onerous Man, most powerful youth in Nigeria, who at the same time is a Cousin to the president, a Personal Assistant and a Personal Secretary of the President. Which tent do you think is at fault? The First Family’s Tent who applied force which later resulted to gun violence to protect the lives of the Residents of the Villa, including the President or the Personal Assistant and Secretary of the President, Mr. Yusuf who breaks a lockdown order on the basis that his wife allegedly gave birth in Lagos, which the First Lady seems to dispute as he was accused of spending the weekend with some girls from the aforementioned states and haven met the contacts of a Former Coronavirus Patient, refused to self quarantine himself when he got back?
Drop your comments below; let’s know who is at fault. You sounded so silly with your narration, I had to feel pity for you. Now, you want readers of your pitiful, grovelling story to decide which party should be blamed? Dear Lord! Hasn't it occurred to you that all this nonsense is happening because you have a president nobody respects as he isn't in charge of anything? If Yusuf has any atom of respect for buhari, he will also respect buhari's wife, the first b!tch of a senile nincompoop who you regard as your president. Same story went round when one of Abba Kyari's daughters locked out the first b!tch from her apartment after the latter returned from an overseas trip to interrupt a planned marriage by the senile nincompoop to a second b!tch. If buhari commands any respect within Aso Shrine villa, nobody, I repeat, nobody would have the guts to disrespect any member of his family. He is the president, for goodness sake! So, you don't need to ask anyone about whom to blame. buhari is the original, undisputed, lame duck nonentity in charge, and every blame rests squarely on his skinny, puny shoulders. Note: me starting the name buhari with small letter is intentional. His name is a liability, and no human deserves to bear the burden in that name after what this disaster in human form has put the country through. I've read about two occasions where sensible parents decided to change their kid's name who were named buhari before then. |

I'm not even sure if all these attempts at social distancing is effective considering that when you sneeze droplet aerosols can travel as fast as 100,000 miles per second. So how exactly does a 6ft distance prevent the spread? The one that makes me laugh the most is the proposition that airplanes should fly with the middle seat empty; how does it prevent the spread of aerosols in and closed compartment? 100,000 miles per sec? The 6 feet distance only works if everyone is wearing facemask. The mask impedes the ejection of aerosols and absorbs the bulk of it. Which is why churches are directed to have all worshippers maintain the distance and make masks compulsory. Now, at this preliminary stage, pastors have already began protesting. Hi. I'm interested in this.
Has the plots been mapped out to designate where access roads within the layout should be?
If I want to purchase 20 plots or more, I shouldn't have to use some of my plots to create roads in the future. I have experienced something like this before. If they haven't done so, let the community know that mapping out the land into layouts of plots with access roads is the right step. This will add immediate value to the land. Let me have your feedback, then I can decide on inspection. |

I think you're about the only person on nairaland who takes the time to assess properties and give some amount of detailed feedback. You're doing a great job |

Snaagg: Nigerians abroad, how many of you are considering relocating back to the 'motherland' once this whole pandemic/lockdown debacle is over?
If you are, state your reasons here.. The contraption called Nigeria is nobody's motherland. You may talk about someone moving to join "his own people" Nigeria only serves to line the pockets of those in power. Can you even come to terms with the fact that since February this year, many "Nigerians" living overseas whose passports had expired, couldn't get a new one months after applying for a renewal? Their embassy's lame excuse: covid-19 pandemic made passport booklets scarce! |
