PoliticsRe: "Horn Free Day": Lagosians, What's The Situation Report At Your Place? by whirlwind7(m):
Obinoscopy:
Is it possible? Is it even safe? Was there enough enlightenment? These are the questions rummaging through my mind.
The answers to your first 2 questions are yes and yes. May seem unbelievable, but if you have ever lived for a period of time outside Nigeria, you will understand.
The enlightenment part is what I can't vouch for, but if LASG can keep this up, perhaps even dedicate one day in every month to observe a "no horn" day, the trend will gradually catch on, until it becomes a part of the driving culture here.

The key word is PATIENCE.
Many people tap the horn button for no good reasons: saying hello to a friend while driving by, trying to get the attention of roadside hawkers, letting the driver ahead of you know that he's too slow for your liking...the list is as endless as it is unnecessary. Almost everyone on Lagos roads go through moments of madness between the hours of 6am till 11am, then from 5pm till about 10pm. We are all in a hurry to get to work, and then get home afterwards. These irritating horn sounds peak within these periods and it can be very annoying.

PoliticsRe: Buhari A Blessing To Nigeria. Who Has Nigerians At Heart by whirlwind7(m): 6:05pm On Oct 12, 2014
Well, the part of the bible you corrupted just to extol the virtues of your beloved general...even he (Buhari) doesn't believe in it. If he ever gets to read this (I doubt) he would only feel disgust.

Moreover, no one is going to vote for a general. If he wants power so bad, he is free to put on his uniform and seize power at will (he's good at it. Fact is, its the only method of acquiring power of which he is familiar with)

I'm not gonna argue if you are a christian or not. It doesn't come into the equation. What I'm going to ask you is this: Has your beloved general in any way demonstrated his tolerance for others of a different faith? Being an influential and a well respected personality of the northern extraction, has he ever openly condemned the activities of the jihadists/terrorist who have relentlessly slaughtered innocent men, women and children in their thousands?

He is not corrupt, he is the messiah, he will set things right if elected...Let him start this amazing evangelism in his own backyard first. Perhaps we might give him the benefit of the doubt afterwards.

For now, he is prepared to ensure that "the dog and the baboon will get soaked in blood" if he looses. Im sorry, but im scared to cast my vote for a "messiah" who preaches nothing but bloodshed...especially since its not his own blood he was referring to.

These brainless bloggers self!

Your topic said Oshodi, next you went ahead to type that it happened at Okokomaiko.
Moreover, I can bet there's no video in that mumu link you provided. I know this because since the news broke, all the hungry, twupenny as$wipe bloggers on this forum haven't come up with claims of a video recording of the incident yet. Just this same picture an eyewitness took that all you unimaginative opportunists have leeched onto.

Run along and look for the next copy and paste-able story.

Yeah, I know she's got many critics out there, being labeled an "amebor", "gossip" and what not,
But the recent upsurge in seeing her blog gets shut seemed to have gathered more momentum after she posted a picture of her new ride.

PoliticsRe: The Sorry State Of Umuahia-ikot Ekpene Road by whirlwind7(m): 2:01pm On Oct 04, 2014
That a federal road in a seemingly civilized country can be left to deteriorate to this extent is simply beyond comprehension. That President Jona is from d south and was massively voted for by the people from this region leaves an even more bitter taste in the mouth.

If he doesn't get to fix it now, do we really have a legitimate reason to ask a president of the northern extraction to do this job?
Truth be told. A regional government of the geopolitical zones would be better suited to run this country. This federal system isn't working. Too much power in the centre coupled with no accountability.

Tufiaakwa!

fabiano09: If he didnt die then its not ghastly, plz change the heading of ur topic
You are wrong. The word "ghastly" was apt.
"Fatal" is used to describe a crash that resulted to loss of life, and not ghastly.
Ghastly could mean "extremely, horrifyingly, deathlike"

That the OP changed it to "terrible" only means he wasn't sure of himself either.
BusinessRe: My Friend Gave Me 1million Naira For 30days. by whirlwind7(m): 8:33pm On Sep 25, 2014
snowpe: my very rich friend whom I have been troubling to help me called me today and gave me a cheque of 1million naira to use for business and return it to him after 30days.which business can I do within such short interval?
You have been "troubling" him to help you.

Which meant that you should, in the least, already have an idea of what to do with the help (finance) when it comes
So, what business did you plan to do with the money, before he gave you the cheque? Or were you just expecting him to "dash you something"?
Your dilemma seemed to arise from your friend requiring you to pay him back after 30 days.
If this time-frame can't work for you, why not simply decline his offer?

That you came here to ask for business ideas after you have accepted the cheque, paints you as a slacker. No insult intended.

AutosRe: Sold!!!One Of A Kind Sale Of An 07 Nissan Altima Sports Edition (thumb Start) by whirlwind7(m): 4:14pm On Sep 25, 2014
nissparts: Servicing is not necessarily the required step to take.
How about at least taking a look at the oil first and then determining if it is due for an oil change? Same with the transmission fluid.
The vehicle is most likely CVT, in which case nothing else but NS-1 should be used.
Oil should be 5w30
Thank you so much!
Is there anything wrong with going ahead to change the oil and transmission fluid wether they are due for a change or not?
AutosRe: Sold!!!One Of A Kind Sale Of An 07 Nissan Altima Sports Edition (thumb Start) by whirlwind7(m): 12:53pm On Sep 25, 2014
Hi, nissparts.

I know this isn't the thread for this post. Im posting here because it happens to be you most recent thread.

I need your help over a 2002 Nissan Primera. It is a station wagon, vehicle was just bought as "tokunbo" few days ago.

Haven't seen it, as i'm not in town, but I was told it's a 1.8L P11-144 engine, auto tranny. I asked if it's CVT or triptronic, but my cousin wasn't sure.
He called to tell me that the vehicle needs to be cleaned and serviced. He'd been informed he needs to change the fuel and oil filters, change the oil, ATF, and other routine maintenance by a nearby auto technician. Since the service history of the car isn't available, I think this is the required step to take.

I told them to keep that move on hold, let me confide from an expert in this field on the necessary things to be done.
So, could you help me out? The car runs great. Was only driven straight to the house after custom clearance. What is your advice, please?

Wonder what you were paid to beat the drums for the most sorry excuse for a governor in the SE.

Next you'll argue that those giant craters filled with muddy, stinking slime in the major streets at the heart of Aba isn't in a part of Abia state.
Keep selling your conscience for pennies. Only anyone who hasn't visited the largest town in Abia state (Aba) will be gullible enough to believe halfway that T.A Orji isn't a curse on his own state.

FashionRe: 9 Things About Pants Every Guy Needs Know by whirlwind7(m): 8:36am On Sep 21, 2014
You first point makes a mockery of your opinion.

Reason: Fashion evolves, and is ever changing. All it takes for pleated pants to make a major come back into mainstream fashion is for A-list celebrities to rock it on several occassions, and voila! they gain universal acceptance once again. Pleated pants were the major thing in men's fashion throughout the late 80s and 90s. Before then, plain pants without pleats rocked the 60s and 70s.

Today's fashion taboo were yesterday's "in thing".

For what reason do you think that insurance companies do not cover fashion? Well, the answer is simple enough: Fashion is as fickle and unreliable as the weather. It is forever changing and based on the whims of the major designers and celebs in the entertainment industry.

Most of your fashion tips are valid, though. You may give tips on basic things that should be observed irrespective of the prevailing trend. But never concentrate on passing fashion fads. I mean, few years ago, no alpha male in his right mind would wear skinny pants that stops just above the ankles. Micheal Jackson made that a fashion statement in the early 80s. It died off, but has now made a comeback into mainstream fashion. Guys are even bold enough to rock them in outlandish, feminine colors such as yellow, shades of pink, orange and cream.

Never take any fashion seriously. Just be comfortable with what you choose to wear. Every sort of fashion statement is a passing fad.

What rationale supports a former governor moving with 200 armed soldiers for bodyguards, when he's paying a personal and social visit to a friend? huh

I honestly believe this country is lost.
