Well, no one said she was dead in the first place. The news making the rounds said she was infected. Breaking News?! Abeg, chill jor... |
I concur with these observations. Africa is just too timid for it's own good. It's so embarrassing that this black continent can't seem to produce a united front over common issues. Picture this: What is the worst case scenario that African leaders simply agree to put off attending this summit at this time, make their excuses about pressng domestic issues which requires immediate attention? America can't help but accept it. Why can't these timid leaders decide to call the shots for once? The summit can wait. All that high sounding, official horseshyte can wait.....But Ebola cannot wait. Boko Haram, Al Shabab and other terrorists' wanton destruction cannot wait. Isn't it even pathetic that the presidential "mouthpiece" denied there was any form of screening for ebola? In a short while, we will get to learn about delegates at the summit who vied to win the trophy of who sleeps the longest, or snores the loudest, during meetings! Lets face the bitter truth: This summit cannot change or improve nada. Just another of America's self serving piece of political crap. |
ethiopianrasta: [s]hey man first of all u shud know our history!! Eritrea was part of ethiopia n we r still brothers made haters by two leading parties n will b back 2gether 1 day.n somali, they attacked us we never attack but we extremely good @ defending n u talked about doing somethin to uncolonise others no man by that time 2 million patriots died to kick italian ass twice n remember the first war 1996 we got no help from no one we fought guns with spear !!n most of u said we re racist no man we r not we most ov us think u ll just attack us just b/c were smaller in size[/s]Keep smoking that sh#t. Perhaps you will make sense one day. @ Poster: This isn't the first ebola outbreak, though it is the worst yet. When it first struck in the 70s, some folks may have asked same question as you just did. It wasn't the end then, and it couldn't be the end now. Several epidemics had threatened mankind in the past. Humanity bounced back (as it always does) And what exactly do you mean by your last statement? Ebola being a threat to christianity? Has it been selecting only christians as it's victims, or what? |
You know, cars are almost a necessary evil. Certain inventions became obsolete after generations of disuse. Not so with vehicles. This multibillion dollar industry undergoes a lot of refinements every year. There are times I wish that people in cities and villages can all be content with commuting with bicycles, and take train rides over long distances. I have this undying love for bicycles and I try to ride mine, as much chance as I get. Be that as it may, I do not yet foresee automobiles going out of production in the near future....unless something really drastic happens; such as the human race getting decimated by a nuclear apocalypse, or the ebola virus. Even when the world's oil and fossil fuel reserves dry up, alternate forms of energy soon replaces it. Actually, there has been s gradual shift in that direction; solar and electric powered cars are making inroads into the automobile market. |
Here's the link to the complain someone else made today: https://www.nairaland.com/1838697/own-pre-order-tale-inspired-autos |
I have read some complaints about Inspired Autos and his failure to honor contracts. In fact, one of his customers posted similar complaint a few hours ago. I just saw that he is online and viewing this thread. Hope he put his affairs in order. |
@OP: You are being pushed around by your ignorance, and folks no wiser than you are just cashing in on it. When the uninformed crowd around you start peddling rumors about bitter kola being the cure for the Ebola virus, did you bother to verify what the source is? That you had access to internet, and couldn't make any useful searches with it, other than ask your government to provide "excess bitter kola" leaves a disgusting taste in the mouth. If bitter kola has been confirmed as a cure, you think Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea Bissau wouldn't have sparked a massive purchase of the item?? So, go ahead. Look for bags of bitter kola and store them in your basement. When Ebola walks by, you can stone it to death with a big sized kola. |
This horrendous development just entered a new, and a more deadly phase. This is about the third reported female suicide bomber in just a few days. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever feel it would come to this. Have never been as pessimistic about the future of Nigeria as I am right now. Looks like the beginning of the end......seriously. |
spyder880: I have walked every inch of Edem and Ibagwa, even Amorji. Average land price there is about N2.5m. Lots of problematic lands in those towns, no large areas to buy up to 50 plots together. How are you doing? Still waiting for your update. |
Oh dear... |
I always see this building in my dream. Buildings where the elevator needs a full time attendant to man it. Because there is no stable electricity to power it. So the attendant has to be employed to ensure a one way traffic at all times. Residents can only use the elevator at specific times...when the generator is on. You can't go and come as you please. Oh, well. It's still a dream. |
@ MANGAM: You didn't mention if it's necessary to add soil in the transparent ziploc plastic bag to germinate the seeds. I have seen some tutorials where soil was added. Did you do yours the same way? |
Kanwulia: Thank awa GODS for husbands o!!! You need deliverance! |
151487made: ode omo poor muslim lasan lasanSorry, bro. I live free. Although I believe in the Most Supreme, my life is not, and never will be defined by any sort of religion. Take a chill pill, and permit you thoughts to flow faster than your fingers. |

Two penny a$$wipe bloggers with absolutely no ideas. |
doctorisa: We are now through with clearing of the land and the trees... waiting for some of the people that owns part of the land to send in money so we can buy the seed And start the nursery very soon...ill update pictures when we get there...That's great! Hoping to see your updates soon. |
iluvnaija: A sensible and visionary leader won't do this. A society where there's no accountability things like this happen. Is he spending his personal money? Answer is NO! Is the money spent on this is in 2014 budget? Answer is NO! So where is the only coming from?My thoughts exactly. The sort of government we run in this country is so nauseating. Moreover, nothing is ever done based on future projections. When will things ever start working right in this hell hole?! The present administration has got this knack of doing absolutely silly things. |
Belexy: You would be surprised how much information can be passed on by detailed explanation and pictures.I dont doubt this. However, it depends on how concise and detailed the information presented is. The OP hadn't made any comment since he opened this thread, though. Will be real helpful if he could post pics and/or video of the procedure, accompanied with a simple step by step narrative. |
Crazy! They are so brazen. Don't even care about being spotted by passers by |
MANGAM: Any season wil do as long as u can control the temperature. I kept mine in celling denEh heenn! This was the clincher! I have been puzzling over where and how I could maintain relatively high temperatures for the seeds to germinate. Bless you, bro! |
MANGAM: On the 3rd day, wash the flesh off the palm fruits such that no fiber/flesh wit left on the fruits(if fibers ar left, the palm fruits wil rot away b4 germinating.Thanks. Means this is best undertaken during the hot and dry months. Did you include soil inside the plastic bag? |
doctorisa: its nt compulsory we all use the same method,so far we achieve the same result..its good. SirCopy that, Sir. ![]() I just remembered that the link to the video was given by MANGAM (on Youtube) I just posted on one of his threads, asking him kindly to describe the procedure he took, and to narrate his experience. I'm here to learn from you all. In fact, I look at all of you guys in awe. What you guys are doing here is awesome! |
Hi, MANGAM. Can you please describe the procedure you took in germinating your oil palm seedlings? A step by step analysis will be highly appreciated. Also, kindly describe how you achieved the high temperature in the room you stored the seeds before they could germinate. This is what I gleaned from your write up: "Germinate your own seed - Get the high yield seed from the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research or any other places you can find it and make it germinate. If you do not take care of the seeds, it will take them several years to germinate. To make it germinate fast, the seeds are kept in a very hot room. This makes the seeds to germinate in about 90 to 100 days." As you can see, it wasn't elaborate. Thanks |
doctorisa: bro the video you watch is it documented by a nigeria or the whites, don't let anybody deceive you its somehow tedious and requires hardwork...the nursery is the most important aspect any mistake made will affect the palm throughout its life cycle...Yeah, it was a foreign video. However, it was almost similar to what another NLer (MANGAM) did, and he got results. I'll look for that particular post of his, and include it here. |
OgologoDimkpa: Simple Paternity test will let the sleeping dogs lieYou seriously think the situation is at that stage where DNA testing hasn't already resolved the issue? You think Bill Clinton could make that comment about Chelsea being sired by Hubbell if that hadn't been confirmed already? I think Clinton brought it up first, so it wouldn't be used as a weapon against him or Hillary in the near future. All the same, let's observe as the situation unravels. |
Hi, doctorisa. I watched a video on germinating oil palm seeds. The procedure was not quite as tedious as the way you described here. In the video, oil palm seeds were placed in an airtight plastic bag (ziplock) containing the moist soil mixture (was called perlite, I think) The package was stored for about 3 months in warm temperature, and germination occurred. Please, what is your take on this? Also, I have picked up many seedlings sprouting in the wild on occasions. |
