the only reason for cheating is when there is no true love. period! lipsrsealed
Wrong wrong wrong

Cheating sometimes creeps into the door or window your girl leaves open grin

Some people are born cheats, others are cheats by way of victim of circumstances

kill yourself if u want to,but believe me apology is d last thingy on my mind now

accept the fact that igbos r thieves or leave it

take what out on me? undecided u r dreaming, infact wake up from that slumber

y'all(igbo in general and their cultures) are big thieves
Dude, stop disgracing yourself, coming up in here and crying the igbos are thieves simply cos u cant afford a brideprice. That sweet soup was prepared by good money, you cannot expect everything to fall at your feet even if the world was a bed of roses, its as simple as that.

You know what they say about yoruba girls and dirtiness? Thats why we wont be thinking in that line grin grin grin

Leave our girls for us, we like them how they are, cheap or expensive, we know they're neat sha tongue tongue tongue
RomanceRe: Cheating: ! Who Is The Better Cheater Or Most Deceitful: ? Male Or Female ? by whitelexi(m): 12:55pm On Nov 04, 2008
All these topics just give people like uju the opportunity to come out with their totally sexist opinions about the opposite sex, i just think both men and women cheat and its as simple as that. If u then come into the naija setting, i will agree with u if u said women cheat more because they do tongue

Okija_juju:
Let me first of all state this.

MARRIAGE IS NOT FOR KIDS, IF YOU NO WHOLE MONEY, REMAIN SINGLE.

I remember a certain dude who came to my dad to chaperone him to his meet with the brides parents since my dad could speak the local dialect of the bride.
After the meeting was over, the dude came back crying. He said he knew it was going to be expensive but what he saw was insane. Virtually every relative you could think of had a list for the guy.

The mum
The Dad
The Brothers
The sisters
Her age group (Umu ada)
Her Mothers age group
The family elders
e.t.c

And these lists included some bizzare requests such as;

*wrappers (several yards, different designs, and they are all hollandis)
*Creates of alcoholic beverages (Star, Guiness, Harp, Gulder, 33, Heineken, e.t.c)
*Kolanuts
*Lots of bottles of different alcoholic whiskeys and brandys (Moets, Schinapps, Hennessy, Vodka, e.t.c)
*Lots of bags of rice
*Several tubers of Yam
*Goats
*Cows
*Many Jerrycans of palm oil
*Dresses for the Parents and siblings of the bride.
*Money for rites
*Several Bunches of Plantain
*Shoes, bags and hats (Normally for the parents)
*Jewellries

And the list goes on.

And the interesting part is that the actual bride price is normally very small. Atimes between 15Naira -2000Naira.
@Okija_Juju:

Was the bride from Imo? because thats exactly what i'm talking about grin

I wonder how it feels like, being acquired, no matter the cost, no matter the competition to win the heart, somebody still won your hand in the end, DAMN!
Its so good to be a guy grin
CultureRe: Outrageous Brideprice! by whitelexi(m): 4:12pm On Nov 03, 2008
Ujujoan:
The guys doesent pay for anything. In my place and in most places, the guy just pays the bride price and buys the things on the 'list'. The feeding and drinks for the ceremony is usally the bride's family's responsibiltiy. They see it that the groom and his family came to marry their daughter, so its their reponsibility to take care of their guests.

Its only the white wedding that the groom pays for.
Well thats in your place sha, not in all of iboland grin
Ordinary knock on the door is bloody expensive, talk less of what else is there to be done. Even the ceremonials are done by the groom, the shaks and chops are provided by the groom, the bride's family do nothing but collect the cash.
I had to pity the guy that came to marry my sis, i was feeling for him but thats the culture, we didnt create it, we wont be stopping it. I'm probably gonna face the same thing when the time comes so, tough luck!

Come stop trying to be tribalistic. A man is lucky if he finds a good wife, it has nothing to do with Imo state or Anambra.
Its not tribalistic, i didnt even compare imo with anambra, i just said our women are worth every penny spent on them, and yes! they are expensive to the core.

Stop trying to use funny psychologies on me, it wont work tongue
CultureRe: There Can Never Be Gender Equality. by whitelexi(m): 3:19pm On Nov 03, 2008
We can only get close but it wont happen. Gender inequality started with the first man on earth, Adam grin So it is definitely not a naija man's thing.

Oh, well what can I say, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

So Imo state eh, I guess that explains a lot of things lipsrsealed
It explains nothing new. A man is blessed if his wife is from Imo, but he and only he will know how much she's worth and throwing a few quid away at the people who brought her up so Impeccably well will do him no harm grin

Anyone who can make sense of that post is a genius and deserves a Pulitzer. grin
Unlike Uju, I can make sense of that post. Clearly this bro is in 7th heaven for having mental and emotional revenge on a girl who initially set out to do the same to him, her's has turned sour because she's ended up with someone worse, his is the other way round grin
CultureRe: Outrageous Brideprice! by whitelexi(m): 11:55am On Nov 03, 2008
Talk of expensive grin
You should visit my village and hear the cost of marriage, or even burial grin
By the time u buy all the cows required for only the village elders, and u then arrange all the george material and bags of rice required for the village mothers, then u can come to the family eldest son, and finally to the list - which in itself is a clear reflection of all u already spent so far grin grin grin

Our women are expensive, and rightly so!
We dont want poor inlars grin grin grin
RomanceRe: Caring- Is It All About Guys? by whitelexi(m): 10:06am On Nov 03, 2008
I must've stopped caring ages ago, cos right now, as a girl, if you're not ready to go to the market with your own cash, buy and cook me some delicacy, keep my house clean, give me that overnite, and make me happy with all the calls and texts, Forget it! grin
