Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Available Vacancies For Urgent Employment by whizkid(f): 4:41pm On Aug 10, 2007
Hello Guys,

This is day 2 of my post and I have received a lot of resumes but unfortunately, 99.9% of the resumes are junk!

Why? From typos to grammatical blunder, wrong CV format, and what have you.

You might have sent your Cv to a lot of organisations and would be wondering why you have not been invited for an interview yet?Take a good look at your CV.

If you are serious about getting this job or any job for that matter, look/read through your CV (or have someone that has something up there proof read it) before you send it. Else it will end up in the trash!

Best of Luck!

Sports / Re: Will Nigeria Win The 2006 Nations Cup by whizkid(f): 1:07pm On Jan 26, 2006
As much as I would love to be a patriot but truth be told, I do not see the Super Eagles lifting the Nations cup. Come on, they managed a 1-0 win over the black Stars of Ghana ( Ghana that Togo beat 3-1 in a friendly match).

On the contrary, I see Cameroun winning. Samuel Etoo kiss is simply splendid! He is not the world third  player by chance and I see him winning the CAF award a third time.

I hope though that at least the super Eagles make it to the quater finals.
Nairaland / General / Re: Bar Beach Towers Residents Forcefully Evicted (Contrary to Court Ruling) by whizkid(f): 9:24am On Dec 08, 2005
The tenants actually got a court injunction restraining the FG from forcefully evicting them from the buildings, at least not without making adequate preparation for them to be relocated to some where else. But I’m afraid in this country the FG is above the ruling of the court. And they have shown that in a number of ways for example withholding allocations for Lagos State even when the court had ordered them to release the allocations.

For the tenants of the1004 Flats the FG made preparations for them to be relocated all right but according to them to remote areas far away form their workplaces and as if it was enough a den for armed robbers.

This people have worked for the Government their entire life the least the FG could do is to provide them with roofs over their heads and like the tenants said they are willing to pay for these properties.

The FG should give them a break for Pete’s sake!
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by whizkid(f): 4:13pm On Nov 21, 2005
Well, I pity his deputy whose privileges as the acting Governor has been caught short, or do I say taken away.

It is only in Nigeria that people in authority fail to tender their resignation when something like this happens. Here goes the anti-graft effort of this Government, It is a shame how corruption has eaten deep into the minds of our people- it is even worth celebrating in the case of the Bayelsa State Governor.

Sports / Re: Friendly Match: Romania 3 - Nigeria 0 by whizkid(f): 2:22pm On Nov 17, 2005
It is quite a shame. To think that no lesson was learnt from the world cup qualifier. The NFA has failed us again! The players where not contacted on time about the friendly match, it wasn't until Monday( 3 days ago) they were contacted on telephone about the match- an international friendly for that matter.

Members of NFA should just pack their bags when their tenure expires, they had the nerves to say that they should be allowed to stay on after their tenure expires this year. Reason being that they do not want preparation for an election to distract preparation for the nations cup(like they even know what they are doing).

The Romania friendly was a disgrace to Nigerian football, I hear they had to beg a Nigerian-Romania player to help make up the first 11. This is too much!
Religion / Re: Do Catholics Believe in Being Born Again? by whizkid(f): 5:13pm On Nov 10, 2005
Thank you very much whocares and medube for your contributions! Let me just add that I am a baptised catholic and you know what? when asked by my pentecostal brethren if I am born again or not. I give them a big YES answer. I draw my answer from the answer Jesus gave Nicodemus, when Nicodemus asked " Do I have to enter my mother's womb a second time to be born again?" and Jesus replied" You have to be born of water and the holy spirit".

So you see, Yes I am born again and to some brethren who still go ahead to ask if I have recieved the holy spirit, again a bigger YES because I am also a confirmed catholic.
Travel / Re: Pollution from Toxic Gas Fumes Spreading in Lagos by whizkid(f): 7:52am On Oct 14, 2005
UPDATE

The explosion has been traced to un- detonated bombs in the Ikeja Military cantonment. People residing in that vicinity said they heard some explosions Tuesday night and began to perceive the fumes from the detonated bombs the following morning.

It is about time the military did something about these un-detonated bombs, we wouldn't want a repeat of the Ikeja bomb blast where so many lives were lost.
Politics / Re: Pictures On the New 1,000 Naira Note by whizkid(f): 9:37am On Oct 13, 2005
The N1000 note was launched yesterday; I went to the bank and got me self some of the cool notes although I think the N1000 note is ugly. Has anyone else seen the note? What do you think? I wonder if the guys on the note are very dead or still alive. It will be cool to have my face on a currency, so I can covet all the money for myself. I mean it is my face on the notes makes it all mine  grin
Travel / Re: Pollution from Toxic Gas Fumes Spreading in Lagos by whizkid(f): 7:56am On Oct 13, 2005
It was on the STV news at 7! The fumes they said came from a NNPC pipeline rupture somewhere in Ogun state. People were covering their noses with handkerchiefs( gas mask improvised). I gathered from the early morning news of today that the NNPC has refused to take responsibility for this mayhem, saying that "none of their pipelines is ruptured". Governor Tinubu has asked that public and private schools around that area should be closed and workers complaining of respiratory pains should be allowed to go home. I wonder how this will help since where these people reside is also affected by the fumes. I hope in some years from now, we do not start seeing the implications of this health hazard.
Travel / Pollution from Toxic Gas Fumes Spreading in Lagos by whizkid(f): 2:53pm On Oct 12, 2005
Lagos has witnessed another explosion but this time it isn't a BOMB explosion but a GAS explosion!

People residing on the mainland i.e Ikeja, oregun Oshodi and environs are not finding it funny with the discomfort of having to breath in gas fumes. I heard children are even falling sick ( vomitting, fatigue etc) from inhaling the fumes. I also learnt that the fume is spreading real fast as people on the Island ie Victoria Island and Ikoyi, claim that their environment has become hazy.

I am at work right now, so I do not have the facts as to what caused the explosion and where it actually occured or  the damages that it has caused.  Does any one have answers?
Sports / Re: Jay Jay Okocha too "Injured" for Super Eagles, but Plays for Club! by whizkid(f): 3:56pm On Sep 30, 2005
This should impress the starter of the topic, I think. Jay Jay has beg to be excused from playing for his team so that he can be in top shape to play for Nigeria against Zimbabwe. See, the guy can be patriotic grin
TV/Movies / Re: Cuando Seas Mia: 'When You Are Mine' by whizkid(f): 1:38pm On Sep 30, 2005
I'm afraid I didn't follow this programme from the begining because I watch STV most of the time.

From yesterday's episode, Julian is dead now, I'm guessing he died of a heart attack from losing that Client. His wife is angry with members of Fabian's family, most especially Fabian. Diego's wife and sister walked into Diego's office when he was locked in an embrace with Elena/paloma. His wife was very upset and she has been behaving funny ever since. She sees Elena as a threat and has been soliciting help from other members of her husband's family i.e Fabian's wife, Diegos's sister, even Diego's grandmother, so that Elena is sacked.

I do not understand what Fabian is up to, looks like he is backstabing Diego, also whether Diego and Paloma have settled their differences because last episode I watched, he was saying "goodbye Paloma" and wanting to have a child with his wife. I would appreciate it if anyone or Delarontus (Thanks by the way for your efforts in trying to fill us in) can shed more light on these.
Politics / Re: 1,000 Naira Note: Will there be inflation? by whizkid(f): 10:49am On Sep 30, 2005
To add to all what has been said so far. I think if the CBN can guarantee control of the amount of money in circulation and supply of the notes with lower denomination (so that they are not faced out eventually):Introdcution of the N1000 notes will not cause inflation. On the contrary, it will ease the burden of carrying money.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Personal Assistant Wanted (International Trading Company in Nigeria) by whizkid(f): 3:17pm On Sep 29, 2005
Mr. Md I have a couple of questions, that is if you don't mind.

1. Do you need a male or female?

2. Are you really looking for a PA or a driver? (driving licence is needed, and very familiar with Lagos)

3. Maybe you need a counsellor? (willing to help me in my personal life.)

4. This is a joke right?
Education / Re: 6-9-3 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Scheme To Replace 6-3-3-4 by whizkid(f): 11:59am On Sep 29, 2005
I guess we should start thinking of sending our children to school abroad. By age 21, they should be talking about their masters and not writing JAMB.
Politics / Re: Bribe-taking by Nigerian Policemen: Should We Legalize It? by whizkid(f): 11:33am On Sep 29, 2005
The policemen signed up for the job voluntarily. Are we then suppose to pay them for doing their job? I sometimes give money to policemen when they stop me,(at least  to those of them who beg for it) after discovering that they've got nothing on me. Nobody should be compelled to give them anything extra for doing their job. What we should do is to campaign that they get better pay and better living conditions.
Politics / Re: Bribe-taking by Nigerian Policemen: Should We Legalize It? by whizkid(f): 8:41am On Sep 27, 2005
You can't beat them, join them? My dear, what should come to your mind is how we can sanitize the Nigeria Police and not encourage them to take bribe. In case you don't know both the receiver and giver of bribes are guilty. Legalizing bribe taking is like legalizing corruption which is what has eaten deep into our system and has destabilised it. The other day, a clergy was shot dead by a trigger happy fella, who calls himself a policeman because the guy refused to give him N20 bribe. The police who is suppose to enforce the law, are the ones breaking it.
Jokes Etc / Re: Oprah Winfrey Gives Away 276 Free Men! by whizkid(f): 3:37pm On Sep 22, 2005

Sports / Re: Stephen Keshi, Togo, and the World Cup by whizkid(f): 2:18pm On Sep 21, 2005
An interesting turn of event, I must say. Imagine small Togo qualifying for the world cup and probably Angola ( I know Nigerians would want my head for this), whereas Nigeria is fasting and praying to qualify grin. The NFA and their many issues, playing politics in football administration and always looking for a sacrificial lamb to cover up their many incompetencies. Well too bad that Keshi is no longer on our side, but then again, a prophet is not recognised in his own country. I am happy for Stephen Keshi, all the best man.
Politics / Re: Asari Dokubo Arrested Over Threats to Blow Up Oil Installations by whizkid(f): 11:47am On Sep 21, 2005
That is what you get from negotiating with a terrorist. The other time he was flown to Abuja- Aso Rock in the presidential jet, why won't he think he is above the law.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Bribes Rwanda to Defeat Angola in World Cup Qualifiers? by whizkid(f): 4:04pm On Sep 08, 2005
Lets get it straight! It is the Angolans trying to use money to induce the Algerian and Rwandans players, so that they see to it that the Super eagles do not make it to the world cup. Not the other way round. Thank you wink
Family / Re: Your Child Says, "Daddy, Mommy, I'm Gay!" by whizkid(f): 12:19pm On Sep 06, 2005
I have always been a caring, loving respectful daughter. I didn't give my parents a heart attack or anything like that.  It is my belief that I shall be blessed with kids that possess all these virtues and more smiley.
Sports / Re: Will the Super Eagles Make the 2006 Soccer World Cup? by whizkid(f): 11:58am On Sep 06, 2005
We keep saying pray so that Nigeria make it to the world cup. I bet you Angolans pray as well, they want to go to the world cup, you know? Or God is Nigerian? or perhaps He only answers prayer request of Nigerians only.

For me let the best team qualifier
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Algeria World Cup Qualifier by whizkid(f): 12:22pm On Sep 05, 2005
I actually thought that they were going to lose the match when Boutabout of Algeria scored the equalizer. Hurray to Nigeria! But we still have one more hurdle to climb, that is beat Zimbabwe  and hope Angola loses to Rwanda. If they had got their acts right in the first place, we won't be in this predicament. Imagine having to pray for two things, that they win their match and Angola loses theirs. Like I said before, whether they make the world cup or not, I shall joyfully cheer other countries that worked hard to get there grin.
Sports / Nigeria Vs Algeria World Cup Qualifier by whizkid(f): 11:39am On Sep 01, 2005
The world cup qualifier match between Nigeria and Algeria will hold on Sunday (not sure of the time yet). I am not looking forward to watching. As a matter of fact, I have given up on the Super eagles. I shall enjoy all the thrills and actions of the world cup, whether the Eagles qualify or not. grin

Do you know that Okocha won't be playing? He is nursing a knee injury he sustained last weekend when playing for his club side. Now, the big question! What happens to the other players who need Okocha to motivate them to play better? As if football is a one man game. Anyway Okocha has promised to sit on the bench, hope it is enough motivation for the players.

I still want to see the outcome of the match though; will they fumble and wobble their way to the world cup?

Any predictions?

Hey Greatpeter, so what're you saying? that they shouldn't take the quickest way to heaven? wink. But seriously it has worked for people I know. I haven't tried it though, because I hate concoctions and this is one nauseates me.
