WORLDPEACE:
Why You Should Not Get Caught Up In Intertribal E-fights

Been on this forum for a minute and I see the inter-tribal fights never end. I think it is really retarded and I hope I can appeal to your common sense. Here are a few reasons if you care about upgrading your intelligence.
1. E-tribalists are cowards.
Faceless forums help people become anything they want to be. Some people think they can become supermen of their tribes, combing every nook and cranny of the internet, defending their tribes and attacking others. No sane person in real life goes about attacking other people 24/7 without ever caring what people think of them. Even an insane person would have to work really hard at it. We might attack others in moments of careless insensitivity that can be chalked down to temporary insanity, but no one is temporarily insane all the time.
So if you fight people of other tribes here all day but keep your mouth shut in the streets, you are just a coward. Don’t be a coward masquerading as an insane person. Cowardice is not an admirable quality.

2. Many E-tribalists are minors.
By this I mean many nairaland tribalists have not yet reached the legal age of maturity which is 18. Unfortunately, the forums membership rules does not include being an adult before you can comment on topics. So by law many of the guys fighting here are not yet fully responsible for their actions. Being able to read and write is all you need to be here, and you don’t even need to be proficient at it. Once you can string together a few social media abbreviations you are good to go.
A young person’s views on things changes very fast. Seven years from now, they probably wouldn’t believe half of the things they believe right now. That also includes the way they feel about other peoples. So before you start getting irate and loading your virtual clip at a minor, remember that.

3. You don’t want to be a weak and sentimental person
The war you are fighting is as old as man and will never be won. You are never going to silence everybody who feels some type of way about you. You can’t prove a point to everyone who thinks they are better than you just by virtue of belonging to a particular tribe.
If someone says something derogatory about your people and you dwell on it you are just going to want to get even. Instead of that, just look at it as a chance to prove to yourself that you have self-control.

4. It’s not that important
Really, it is not. All that noise you’re making, the Fagani people of the Solomon Islands don’t know about it. I had to use google to know the Fagani people exist. They don’t know about how annoying that tribe that occupies the territory not far from yours is. You don’t know about the Fagani people and their enemies either. They know that they are not the only humans on this earth though. That’s all that counts. We are all humans and we are related. In two thousand years, all Nigerian tribes may not exist anymore, but their genes will continue. That’s what’s important

That’s it for now. You can add yours.

This is really nice bro. Well said.
Thanks for saying it how it should be.. Every single Thread on Nairaland is burning up with tribal wars these days. It's rare that you will read 10 posts and not encounter bigotry from a poster. You'll think with the kinda words they utter on this forum, they'll be slapping every single person of the opposing tribe. But No, these kids come to a faceless forum to air their Jamb and sexual frustrations. And it's even alarming that some of these posters are "adults". Adults Arguing their lives away with kids who are yet to begin theirs.

Well, I for one do hope this whole tribal shenanigan will end on Nairaland.
Cheers!

Ile Yoruba niwon tI to mi even though my parents aren't yoruba. I know the way you think because I lived there for a while. The simple truth is you don't understand the country you live or you are just a denialist. If you live in Nigeria you are corrupt. There is no ifs or buts about it. It is not really your fault because society forces it on you. You have a car and need to get to point B from point A but a policeman stops you and insists you give him bribe. Are you saying yout have never done that? I have seen where occupants in a bus heckle a bus driver to "settle" am make we go joo. Guy, wake up. The first step in solving a problem is recognizin that you have one. In 2080 you all I'll still be wondering why you are not moving forward at this rate. Smh

Bro Chill.. You see, my problem with you is the fact that you think you know me or anyone else.
Firstly, I'm not Yoruba, though I speak the language fluently. See what I did there.? You basically assumed I was one.
Secondly, I'm not an idiot. I acknowledge how badly corrupt the Nigerian society is. It is to the core. It has become the 'norm' in so many societies. But you talk like you expect me to 'go with the flow'. That's exactly my point. We can't all be the same. People defy norm. My proof is; A lot of people born into Religion are becoming Atheists. Just an example that people are beginning to see past the 'norm'. So, why is it hard to believe that there are people who aren't corrupt in Nigeria?

By the way, you are right.. So many people have assisted bribery.. I haven't. I haven't had the need to.

I saw a dirty looking Chinese man being protected by a police man today and I felt terrible....is everybody in Nigeria a kidnapper?...no....
In Borno the fear of boko haram is the beginning of wisdom.... yet everybody in Borno is no terrorist...most cyber crimes are carried out by southwesteners....not all yorubas are criminals....most caught drug pushers are easterners....but not all igbos are drug peddlers.

The moment your society begins to get stereotyped with a particular vice....know its time to do something about it. We are a society in denial.

That's why I don't knock people that stereotype others....its a form of defense mechanism. And all humans do it at first, but then relax their defense once you know that that person on an individual basis.

Well said my good man. If only other people can relate to this..

Don't get me wrong, I was born there which is why I know how phucked up you all are. Even if I wasn't Nigerian it doesn't change how every country in the world sees you all. And the perception is you are all rogues.

I'm guessing you are white..
Scratch that, I know you are white. And I'm not saying anything is wrong with that but I can tell by your F*ucked up way of reasoning you have a personal vendetta against Nigerians. Whoever wronged you is to blame not 180 million Nigerians. Some of us know the problem and are working hard to fix it. We are not all the same. Don't come up here trying to act like you know every single Nigerian cos you lived here.
By the way, the world sees us the way we are because of people like you. You see a problem and you magnify it. Went through some of your posts, and I can't but ask What exactly did that Nigerian do to you?

That said..
We see our problems and some of us are working towards making the country a better place. So, stop with the generalization.
Unless you are racists, then your true plights will be understood.

I won't waste my time to argue with any Nigerian over this ...The truth is that there is no were on earth where I have seen so many dishonest and crooked people in my life ..Are you aware that there are more Nigerians in foriegn jails than any nationality on earth ? Even small children as small as 5 years are already cheats in Nigeria.. I have not met a single honest Nigerian except myself since I was born even clerics in Nigeria are dishonest ..See madam I know before the day runs out you will gladly cheat someone if the opportunity shows up ..Instead of you to accept the truth as usual you have taken to the denial path most Nigerians prefer ..Oya kontinu

Well, say what you know.. I'm not denying the fact that there are lots of corrupt minded Nigerians. You can't say they are all corrupt. Are all whites racists, Are all south African blacks xenophobic? Are all Indians scammers? Are all Philippines women prostitutes? Are all Nigerians in diaspora criminals? Are all Edo women witches? Are all Northerners Boko haram? Are all Muslim Terrorists? Are all Pastors corrupt? No one is say that article is wrong. The generalization is the core issue.

If you say you are a criminal, Fine bruh.. Don't put all of us in the same bracket or basket.. Corruption is a thing we all have to tackle..

Don't start throwing words around like you've met all 180 million Nigerians and they all duped you..

These are exactly the excuses that we Nigerians give for our scams and other crimes the writer was talking about.

Instead of owing up to our criminality and corruption, we keep heaping blames on those at Abuja.

Lets continue decieving ourselves

Bro. if you are a criminal. Own up to your ways. why must he confess to what he isn't? You sound smart but your talk is smack.. Are you a criminal?

The dude you quoted agreed that Corruption is rife in Nigeria. He just won't agree that all Nigerians are corrupt. Which is absolutely right.

Minority you say. Ok. I don't think you understand the country you live in. Are we not talking about a country where a policeman can stand confidently in public and collect, nay, demand bribe in full view of the world and nothing happens? Try that shiit in Germany, the U.S, France etc and see what happens to you. You will spend a better part of you life behind bars. This culture can only exist if most Nigerians, if not all, are corrupt. This is a country where you are not respected unless you are a "sharp" guy which is why only criminasl opt for public office. Guy, wake up. The OP knows knows what she/he is talking about.

Lol. OK.
How can you really say the writer knows what he/she is talking about when He/she said; "50% of population of Nairobi wakes up and think, 'Who can I ripoff today?'
Since when did Nairobi become a geographical region in Nigeria.?

He/She might be right on so many points but definitely not based on what she knows but based on 'hear say'.
And if you agree in totality, Well then, I guess you are a criminal just like she stated.

I do not know why they got beat up and no one here does right? . So let's all be objective. If you assume it's xenophobia then we will assume it's crime ...see ? Going in circles . Until someone brings the full story, I guess we will never know the truth.

No. I'm not assuming anything at all. It could be so many reasons, xenophobia even. Be honest, Nigerians aren't the only ones committing crimes in South Africa. Why is it every time one is beaten or killed, they are associated as one? No one even bothers to find out the reason, y'all just say. "Oh well, He's Nigerian. He's probably into drugs."
That said, Can I ask... Do you know or have you seen any drug peddling Nigerian. Please, do tell. If they are as many as people say, then you probably must have met/seen one.

And you are right, we'll never know the truth. but to be clear, we are on the same side.

Where did I say all Nigerians are bad people?. I was just correcting the guy who thought something done by one man is done by many, showing him that we could also say the same about you. Many are arrested but some meet the angry part of our society and get what these got lol. I'm glad you are preaching peace everywhere hope you are doing it more in Nigeria since jungle justice seems to be popular amongst your own .

As much as I agree with most of the points you made on your posts. I can also say, You've mostly thrown shades at people and defend your people's actions, which to me is understandable. We all defend ours. If these dudes were selling drugs to kids, then they deserve whatever they got 100%. We don't condone evil. But can you beat your hand on your and say these guys were drug peddlers?

That said, No smoke without fire. Some Nigerians in diaspora have done alot of damage. but not all. So, you can't put us all in one basket. There are good ones. but still, You cannot deny the existence of the hate on Nigerians.

And about Jungle Justice, That happens everywhere, obviously. Some places more than others. Mostly in the Lower parts of the society. I bet your point is based on what you've seen on Nairaland. Philippines, Indonesia, India, It's worse there.

Cheers.
