Politics / Re: Ohanaeze, Afenifere, ACF Disagree Over Civilian JTF’s Recruitment Into Army by whizpa(m): 8:57am On Nov 13, 2020
The government should be advised against this.. Apart from being the usual sectional recruitment, It is wrong on many levels. The Army has already been compromised. We hear stories of soldiers spying for Boko Haram, How are we sure these Civilian JTF are not spies as well.

The army relying on Civilian JTF for intelligence is not even sensible, Now they are recruiting them?! Terrible Idea.

Well, This is already a lost battle. The FG/Army does what it wants. At least educate and train these people properly before you recruit them. That's all we ask.

Good morning all,

Hope we're staying home, and safe.

Kindly, ration everything you have as food and drinks at home. This crises had gone out of hand with the packets of violence and retaliations everywhere.

I wish to see you after this crises in our nationhood.

Stay Home! Stay Safe! Stay Healthy!

Minion.
You are trying to find a middle ground between defending your pay Masters and being morally inclusive but the truth is; it doesn't work that way. We all know where you stand.. The fact that you want to pretend to care shows that you can be a good person if you really want. The fact that you are showing 'eye-service' means you know what's going on and it is just about the money for you. We all have to do what we all have to do.. But don't lose yourself in the process. I hope one day you will find your conscience and do better. God bless you.

I don't stand with #EndSars..I stand with #ReformSars particularly and #ReformtheNigerianPoliceForce..

As e dey go now, the #EndSars protests have been hijacked by Yahoo boys, prostitutes protecting their Yahoo Boy Customers, and even armed Robbers, kidnappers and murderers

I detest SARS Officers for their high-handedness and abuse of power, but these SARS guys are a part of the Police force particularly dreaded by hardened criminals....this is because these criminals know these SARS guys are also hardened crooks themselves and are licensed to act swiftly and ruthlessly to curb crime

You don't cut off your head just because your nose is ailing
SARS as presently constitited have abandoned their primary assignment of apprehending armed robbers..after all SARS means "Special Anti-Robbery Squad...they have now taken or upon themselves to do EFCC's Job of apprehending Yahoo boys abi na suspected Yahoo boys, and have extended that to harassing citezens who make the mistake of appearing fresh, young and have the guts to have laptops and phones on them

That nonsense must stop...but that does not mean SARS should be scrapped..They are an absolutely necesary evil

In the whole mad hysteria which is the #endsars protest, Nigerians forget that there are more deadly police departments like the SACS (Special anti cultism Squad)
IGP X-Squad
Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad .

All these Squads are very joyless and are fully licensed to be as brutal, if not more brutal than the SARS Everyone is shouting about..
If the Police want to be mischievous, they will disband SARS and move all its officers to these other deadly squads for them to continue 'the Lord's Work"

Shebi i have read of a case where Soldiers connived and kidnapped a young boy in Imo State, under the guise that he was being arrested on arrested on suspicion of being a Yahoo Boy..
After kidnapping the young boy and forcing him to pay more than 1million naira to them, they killed the boy, dumped his body in the bush, and made away with his Lexus Es350 car..This happened late last year abi na this year sef..
Because of that, why haven't we called for #EndNigerianArmy?

I still remember how some officers of the same Nigerian Army killed many policemen while aiding the escape of a fugitive kidnapper in Taraba State..

We didn't call for #EndNigerianArmy because of that..

Point is..the fact of the existence of some Renegades in an organisation does not make that organization totally useless or worth discarding..

If the #EndSars protesters are truly serious, let us also end Nigerian Army because of their atrocities as well

Trash!!

His offer to drive her home came from a normal person, not a rapist. Unless she's a psychic, rejecting his ride would have to come from a very good reason. She didn't let a rapist drive her home like you said, she let a normal person drive her home. And she didn't invite him to her house. He gave her a ride, raped her and discharged her at her home.

Besides like you said, they made acquaintance at the bar, which made her agree on the car ride and him taking whatever signal he thought she gave as consent and consequently acting up on it.

She said, After the dude was done raping her, He then took her home. It's like saying, "After one-chance robbers took your money and valuables, they then dropped you off at your residence.." That would be a very stupid thing to do, both for them and you. I'm just trying to be logical. Hope you get my point?
Politics / Re: Did Nigeria Pay For Dubai's Burj Khalifa? Here's Everything We Know (photos) by whizpa(m): 9:11am On Oct 08, 2020
Jones4190:

Naira Is More Valuable Than Dollar And Pound. Ignorance Is Killing people like you. Wake Up!

A currency's value is what is can fetch those who use it as a means of exchange!
Those in America use dollars and those in the UK use pounds sterling. Emiratis use Dirhams and Indians Rupees. Nigerians therefore use the Naira.
The Naira today, is equivalent to 600 units to the GB£ and 500 units to the US$.
Though we are quick to lampoon the Naira as worthless, but let us compare how much value each of these currencies equivalents fetch their owners/holders, within their borders?
In the US, a dollar ($) may not buy you more than a small bottle of water, while N500 will buy you a pack of 12 of the same bottles of water in Nigeria!
A pound (GB£) may not buy you even a small loaf of bread in London, but in Lagos, N600 will buy you and your partner, breakfast for 2, consisting of one N250 big loaf of bread, 4 fried eggs and 2 bottles of water!
Days ago, I bought 50 pieces of medium sized oranges from the Ketu fruit market for N1,000, that's just $2! I bought 3 pineapples for N500 ($1)!
A litre of fuel costs N160 in Lagos, but cost $0.86 (N430) in New York! While I know people who pay cad1,700 (N500,000) per month for their glorified room and parlour self-contained in Ottawa, that is what a friend pays in 6 months, for a 2 bedroom apartment, with separate toilet, bathroom and proper kitchen, in Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi!
So why do Nigerians make so much noise over the value of their currency, when it still fetches them more value than the other currencies that they pitch the Naira against? The answer is simple: the "values" of Nigerians!
While Nigerians reacted with consternation at Dino Melaye's obnoxious display of his stolen wealth, the average Nigerian behaves exactly like Dino Melaye! From the man on the streets to the Churchpreneurs who claim to represent God!
They produce nothing, but want to flaunt everything!
Someone lamented to me about his wife's tenant, who has failed to pay N120,000 rent, for nearly a year, but slaughtered a ram and made festivities, worth N150,000, during the last Moslem "Ileya" festival!
Ask me what the man produces? Zilch!
Had this same debtor taken the N150,000, wasted on the one day feasting to the market, it will be more than enough to set up a fried Yam, sweet potatoes, Akara business, that can net him N300,000 monthly, and take him out of poverty and debt forever!
So, because Nigerians are unproductive at home, but consume from used clothes, to fake hair and eye lashes, to even PMS, from the abroad, they keep whining about the value of the dollar/pound-sterling against their currency.
There are universities in Nigeria, and I had my education entirely in Nigeria! So, if I chose to send my children abroad, what is the headache of the government in my personal decision, should the currency in their country of choice proves unaffordable to me? Who send me?
My personal definition of the problem with Nigeria is that, the policies of the State are manipulated to suit the indulgences of certain classes of Nigerians, who feed fat on the miseries of the masses.
Government resorted to importing fuel because some privileged Nigerians criminally destroyed our refining capacities. Rather than punish them, we put the punishment on Nigerians.
Government "subsidized" the same imported fuel, to create artificial opportunities for some privileged people to loot our treasury, under the artificially created system of "subsidies".
These Nigerians and their fraudulent economists should stop fooling themselves about the poor exchange rates of the nation's currency. 95% of the citizens of this country need food, water, Medicare, etc, obtainable in Naira!
If some useless, lecherous and unproductive, yet entitled, vanity flaunting elements like Dino Melaye, need foreign currencies to feed their insanity, what has that got to do with Nigeria?
If you want to indulge in the zero nutrition Orange, imported from wherever and sold at times ten that of super tasting Oranges from Benue, must Nigeria care about your price plight? Who send you?
If you chose Pizza over Aboki freshly cooked spicy bread and eggs, please find enough Naira to indulge in your borrowed Italian taste.
This argument over our poor currency is a lie of the elite to pass their problems as everyone's!
Days ago, I made a 4 litre bowl of cooked beans (enough to feed at least 8 adults) from a N200 ($0:40) measure of beans! Add another N500 ($1) worth of sweet potatoes, and you have a super nutritious meal for 8 adults!
That's less than $3 in total, N1,500 (including the costs of other stuff like onions, peppers and oil), to feed 8 adults?
Before you complain that the Naira is weak, tell me what you need the foreign currencies for, and i will show you how you and Dino are the same

Wow.. you took the time to write such a lengthy nonsense. Now think about it.. 5 years ago, if you saved 20k naira in a bank. At that point in time, with 20k you could buy, 1 bag of rice, a bag of beans and garri, and you'll still have change to spare.. Fast forward to this day.. The value of your saving had depreciated so much, you could barely buy one bag of rice. In context, you have lost money because you can't buy the same things you could buy 5years ago. But those who saved their money in dollars 5years ago will have absolutely no problem.
So, Fvck you for trying to defend this government with your stupid analogy.
people I know, are converting their savings to dollars and saving them in a domiciliary account just to withhold the value of their savings in many years to come. you think they are unwise?

We are a forex driven country. Cars, Electronics, Phones which are imported are paid for with what? Stone?!!
Idiot!! Keep asking what we need the dollar for again.

....then add it up! Nigerians always play victim. Don't mess with women abroad. No means no, even without physical resistance. I don't know how else people would understand it. Nigeria is a not normal country. Virtually every girl in Nigeria expects to be raped, Nigerian men who take that twisted mentality abroad invariably go down, just like this one..

Ogbeni. calm down.. I'm not saying he didn't do it. I'm just being logical. (1) She was raped "in a car". That would be extremely difficult but not impossible. (2) You let your rapist drive you home. You led him to your house? Meaning, he could come back and do it again.. That would be very stupid. Think about it.

Ched Evans was accused of rape because he didn't call the lady he had sex with after collecting her number.. Read the story again, but this time, SLOWLY and see if I'm making sense.

PDP is a fraud.
Multiplier effect of corruption
1. A young man works for one of the state ministries. His salary is 120K. He makes 15,000 everyday on this desk (N75k a week) engaging in corrupt practices. As a result, he spends the daily cash as he cares. Living large and far above his legitimate income.
2. He visits the local joint every evening and buys drinks for friends, and area boys. They hail him. He is married, but has two girlfriends. His "income" is enough to take care of them. The Asun seller at his favorite joint is happy, the joint owner is happy.
3. Everyone was benefiting from his "income". Friends, family, area boys, joint owner, Asun seller, girlfriends, wife and his church. Life was good.
4. Then suddenly the ministry implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) at the beginning of PMB administration. His extra "income" disappeared and he had to adjust to the reality of event and live within his real income. That wasn't easy.
5. Initially he reduced his daily visit to the joint to 3 days a week and stopped buying drinks for everyone. He reduced the plates of Asun. The Asun seller started to find it hard to sell a full goat each day and resorted to buying half.
6. The young man's girlfriends started to feel the heat too. No more iPhone 10. The joint owner noticed a drop in sales. The young man finally stopped visiting the joint after a month. The area boys started feeling his absence. The effect cascaded down.
7. The young man started spending more time at home with his wife and kids. The family had to readjust to the reality of the new normal. His hair stylist noticed the young man suddenly stopped tipping. He will even wait for his N200 change after haircut.
8. Things are different. Times are hard, they all cry. The young man is blaming Buhari, his wife is blaming Buhari, the area boys are blaming Buhari, the girlfriends are saying Buhari must go, the joint owner is saying Buhari killed the "economy"
9. The Asun seller is cursing Buhari, the hair stylist is insisting Buhari is too old to rule. This is the story of our nation where corruption fuels the "economy". Those who are not engaging in it are benefiting from it.
10. This tread is not about Buhari's achievement or failure, but rather about the "multiplier" effect of corruption and how we have built a system largely driven by corruption. It's about policy implication (good or bad). It's about the choices we have made.
Finally, the young man had to withdraw his kids from what he called expensive primary school his kids attend. He added:"what are they teaching them there sef " Obasanjo didn't go to a private school. I just laughed .

Check out this load of crappp...
So, you're telling me he's the reason dollar is 460? He's the reason why Fulani Herdsmen are ravaging the entire country or why there are kilings in southern Kaduna..? Surely, he has to be the reason why there are increase in prices of commodities.. That young man is the reason for untold hardship on other Nigerians.. Cos he stopped being corrupt, Rice is now very expensive in Nigeria.
He's probably the reason behind your lack of wisdom.

Don't be unfortunate. No let angry Nigerians swear for you.
