LordAdam16: The exact details of the CBN's liabilities are murky. In JP Morgan's report, total liabilities exceeded $14B. But that was in reference to EOY 22 numbers.
The true state of our finances is not readily available. So most analysts go off guesstimates.
The number that's floating around is $10B. Which might be a deliberate understatement. But let's work with that. The plan is roll over some of it into 24 to 36 months instruments thus giving us more time to come up with the funds. While they use the $7B to clear the most urgent book liabilities and fund several weeks of direct sales in the NAFEM window.
The open-ended question is how long the stability lasts? I don't think the administration cares anymore. If they can secure the $7B and hopefully the $3B AFRIEXIM loan as well. We'd almost certainly get at least a good quarter of stability out of the intervention which right now sounds like a huge win to them.
The national debt. Interest payments. Revenue shortfall. All of those are problems they'd pawn off to the next administration. Nothing screams desperation like securitizing $2B p.a. revenue for a $7B loan from a consortium led by a commercial bank in the current high interest rate environment. I'll like to see the terms they get. Standard Chartered will bend them over a barrel.
But they wouldn't mind. All the top honchos at NLNG, NNPCL, Minister of Finance, and CBN are salivating at what they'd gain from the deal. The funds will be used up. Then they'd start cooking another billion-dollar deal by this time next year. In fact, it is in their best interest that this inflow does not solve the FX crisis permanently.
Currently, this country is a hood rat n*ggas are running a train on. Stop worrying about the aftereffects. If the jamboree will not favor you and your family, japa!
-Lord Hmmmm. Honestly the rising debt profile scares me cause as a Nigerian I've been groomed to believe most of it I mean the intervention loan would of course be looted as you've subtly put boss. Japa is on my mind several times but one would still wish for the progress of his country once he leaves the shores of the country. Hopefully we get that economic stability like you said no matter how minute cause one can't obviously trust the government which is expected. At least for the currency to exchange under a 1000 naira before what wants to happen goes on again. Thanks for this informative piece boss. |

LordAdam16: Once there's confirmation that the FG has started receiving the $7B, it'll touch 900 within a few hours. Apparently, the current drop is due to the accelerated timeline. The ThisDay article insider said Standard Chartered and co will start releasing funds next week.
I doubt that. It takes a while for the kinks in these type of unconventional deals to be ironed out. Earlier in August, the NNPC hurriedly revealed they'd closed a $3B loan with AFRIEXIM. Rates fell overnight. Later we learned that AFRIEXIM had not found co-partners to back the loan. They are yet to find takers as of today. And that's why rates shot back up from 810 to 1310.
So if the $7B doesn't come soon, 1600 is a lock.
-Lord Dollar at 1600 will just cripple most SMEs and startups struggling to breathe at the moment finally. Many are still speculating it would go up once the $7B arrives, but with this new $7B loan are you sure our national debt hasn't gone over $100B dollars already coupled with the various interests added to it that we're going to pay back? This is just crazy. |

GrammarNazi1: I don't know how that was determined, but punching during a real fight where opportunities are rare and punching during an exercise are two different things. Of course it's different. This was ngannou setting the record at the UFC grounds. https://youtube.com/watch?v=LC_t7h1JTls&si=pEDZkY2Ua9-_nCUxI'm not fully confident he had a harder strike than wilder since he's the hardest hitting boxer around afterall he dropped fury several times like an amateur and we know fury doesn't have a glass chin but I think there's a possibility especially when you take into account ngannou's strength and power. For those who follow UFC ngannou has dropped the best in the division like Cain Velasquez, stepe Miocic, Curtis blaydes, rosenstruik and some I can't recall and I tell you those guys are solid and durable. I was hoping he and Jon Jones would square off sooner before he left UFC as I was pretty confident he would knock Jones out who's the current alpha in the division. |

As long as we still remain a third world country with high levels of poverty vices like these would continue to thrive boss. Yahoo was a coded stuff back then for only people who had good knowledge of using PCs, emails or those who were brought into it by those deep in it earlier before it started becoming rampant and popular few years back. Other hidden stuff too can still come to light as long as our things don't improve. What I just want is to leave the lives of innocent people enough for their foolish plus nonsense if they want to do their hustle. |

Bombblacks: If you have held UFC gloves then you would realise how stupidly hard they are. It's like they are made to cause knout out. When we compare their record it's not even close. Wilder(42 wins, 41 KOs) vs Ngannou(17 wins, 12 KOs). Wilder is doing his knock outs in a more larger gloves. Imagine taking a Wilder punch with the MMA gloves, your forehead will crumble A mma glove is just thinner not harder than a boxing glove which is padded with foam. Is that not one of the reasons you're arguing boxing causes more deaths? Ngannou is well built and stronger than wilder and has been hailed for his striking ability by some boxing analysts despite him not being one. Wilder that will want to use all his speed and power in one moment to drop you. Ngannou doesn't move with that kind of energy but when he strikes his opponent feels the power. |

Ibime: He is right. Death rates in boxing are far higher
But MMA injuries are more gory
In boxing, you are aiming for the computer of the body (the brain) so once you knock out the computer, the body dies. In MMA they rip a lot of ligaments but they don't kill each other Well boss the longer rounds and heavier gloves play a part too but I feel with the legs also causing damage a kickboxer can also get damaged after retirement. And yes boxing deaths are more frequent and cause more trauma. |

Bombblacks: Stop capping. The claim that Ngannou has the hardest punch in the world is a UFC marketing ploy based on something called a Powerkube. It's an obscure punching-power device that measures in arbitrary "units". Was it only ngannou that tested his striking power on the device? People have tried and failed since 2018 when he set the record including a one time world's strongest man winner. I don't even need to look much to the PowerKube when I used eye test to witness his brutal punching when he was still in UFC. |

If a rival cult member wants to kill them, they can trace them to the girl's apartment either killing the guy only or killing them both. If they kill the guy alone the girl will still have police case to answer.
See this one now wey the boyfriend kill by himself , maybe her future bright or not she don go be that. The guy will most likely spend long years in prison after which he may get pardon when one governor will claim they are decongesting the prison. If the public outcry is much he might be excecuted. I feel for the girl's family. Years of nurturing your child in school only to see this ugly incident. |

Bombblacks: Don't allow MMA blood to deceive you. Boxing is far more dangerous and most people have died from it. People don't usually die from getting hit hard once, they die from the accumulation of damage from getting back up after numerous knockdowns and blows to the head. There have also been some casualties in the octagon both pro and amateur. Mma not only has thinner gloves than boxing but you are going to be hit with fists, elbows, knees and the foot when kicked flat in the face. But you might have a good argument though considering the far longer allocated rounds to boxing and the bigger casualties list over decades. |

In tight games when your attack has a off game or the scores are tied with goals he can make s difference with an unusual goal. Bombblacks: Fury got hit with multiple Wilder kill shots and either ate them or got back up. He has beaten Wilder twice, who is both a better boxer and has significantly more power than Francis. He doesn't even have a puncher’s chance to me. Ngannou is also very powerful and I believe he has better punching power than wilder. It's just his lack of experience as a pro boxer that would cost him. Besides what does he even have to lose when he's going to make a truckload of cash bigger than anything he got under Dana white. |

Itsrm: Most of these guys are very ignorant. Banks don't make any serious money from their retail arm of banking. Like Lapo, Opay and the likes are not their competitors.
Secondly, all microfinance banks are mandated by CBN to have an account with traditional banks. Microfinance banks don't have accounts with CBN. Traditional banks are the intermediaries. In essence, all the money still ends up with them.
Thirdly like you noted, the rate of fraud on Opay and palmpay especially is something else. I hear fraudsters ran from Kuda because they are very strict. You'll notice that the popularity of Kuda seems to have gone down.
If other banks should do the same, OPAY and the likes will tighten their belts. They had it coming. If opay and palmpay can do id card verification on their tier 1 accounts many of those scammers will run away because they get different sim cards to open account with different names to do their scams. It's always at tier 1 which can allow you have a transaction limit of 50k while higher tiers require you to put your id card which they don't have since they opened the account with a fake name. Once they are caught there they abandon those accounts and move to another one. Kuda stepping up on their security and verification made those ones to run away. |
