onthehill: It’s Not Altogether A Bad Thing For The North To Secede From Nigeria - Adamu Garba
Former Presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba says with all that the North has going for it, it will not be a bad thing for the region to secede from Nigeria, IgbereTV reports.
In a post shared on his Twitter handle, Adamu listed the benefits the Northern region has over other regions. According to him, if the North secedes from Nigeria today, many regions in Nigeria will suffer. He added that no single person is afraid of a breakup of the country.
He pointed out that the ''hatred'' towards the Fulanis and everything North can be the greatest undoing of the secessionist groups once the North pulls out of ''the Union called Nigeria''.

LegendVibes: Lauretta Onochie social media aide of President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the president took off his face mask in his hometown Daura in Katsina State on Saturday, January 30 because he was addressing party faithful, Igbere TV reports.
Buhari was criticised for removing his mask in public, days after signing an executive order which mandates the use of face mask in public places.
Mrs Onochie tweeted on Monday, saying the president removed his face mask while addressing party members.
She also querried a reporter who reportedly placed a microphone on the president’s chest in Daura.
“Mr. President in Daura. He wore a mask in Daura, except when he addressed Party faithful. Afterwards, he put it back on,” she said.

Politics › Re: Northerners Set Expell Yorubas From The North by Whoube99(f): 7:46am On Jan 31, 2021 |
Ezeama400: Foremost Fulani activist, Professor Umar Labdo says Yoruba people in the north would be expelled if purported plots to evict Fulani people from some South-West states do not cease.
He stated this while reacting to quit notices issued to Fulani herdsmen in Ondo and Oyo states in recent times.
Labdo condemned Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu’s decision to evict Fulani herdsmen from the state’s forest reserves, describing the order as “wrong”.
The Fulani activist said the governor’s action amounted to stereotyping a whole tribe as criminal because of the activities of a minute few.
The Professor of Islamic Thought also berated Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho for ordering Fulani people in Igangan in Ibarapa North local government area of Oyo state to leave the community.
He stressed that such quit notices were “unhelpful” and capable of exacerbating ethnic tensions in the country.
Labdo said he recognised that open grazing was a major cause of frequent farmer/herdsmen clashes in many parts of the country but hinged the clashes on encroachment of livestock grazing routes created by British colonial masters.
The professor stated that the grazing routes were incorporated into Nigerian maps produced after Nigeria gained Independence.
He explained that the farmers’herdsmen’s clashes have political, economic and social reaons undertones.
“The political reason is very, very important. At the moment, politicians are using this to lure the electorate. Now, in certain places in Nigeria, you become an instant hero if you hate Fulani.
“Now, look at this governor who is issuing quit order to Fulani, maybe he wants to contest for President in 2023. That is why he is seeking for cheap popularity from a people who maybe are not well enlightened. He is actually courting trouble for his people.
“This is because you cannot expel others from your land and expect your people to be welcome in other people’s land.
“For example, this Governor Akeredolu, he is a Yoruba man, he is expelling my people, the Fulani, from his own state. Now, we have Yoruba in Fulani states. We have Yoruba in Kano, we have them in Adamawa and we have them in cities and very small villages, they are living in peace. You find them where the arms of the law cannot reach, where there is no presence of police at all.
“So people, in retaliation, can do whatever they want to do to them. Just like their brothers are doing to us in the bush,” Labdo told Saturday Sun.

Mgbadike80: DAUD OLATUNJI Some soldiers on Friday invaded some communities in the Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State and forced the victims to recant torture allegation against them. The soldiers, whose identities could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, stormed the villages and assembled the residents on Friday evening. The soldiers, numbering about 10, had reportedly escorted some herdsmen to some villages in Ketuland a few weeks ago and flogged them for refusing to allow the herdsmen to graze their cattle on their farmlands. Three traditional rulers in the area wrote a petition against the soldiers and addressed it to the Army, the government and the police in the state. The Army kept mum while the government and the police confirmed they were aware of the incident. On Friday, some soldiers were reported to have returned to one of the villages; Ubeku, in Eseluland, and asked one of the victims to retract the allegation. The activities of the soldiers were secretly recorded by one of the villagers who gave the audio clip to our correspondent. The 3:59 minutes audio revealed that the Army had received the petition over the allegation that its officers from 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, allegedly connived with herdsmen to flog some members of the community for refusing the herdsmen to graze their cattle on their farmlands. One of the soldiers who appeared to have been commissioned to investigate the allegation was heard asking the victim to make a video recording of the retraction. The soldier was heard making frantic efforts to force the victim simply identified as Seye to retract his statement but he insisted that he was flogged. The soldier was heard saying, “…I want you to video him because your name is what we have in the petition. Your name is what we have so you will record him now. He will call his name and say that nobody touched you. “I have to write a report on the investigation. I want to speak with him. Then, you, being the Baale and the youth leader, if that is done I think I am okay with it. “You will say from you who claimed that you were beaten mercilessly because you asked a question; soldiers spit on you. He will call his name as you are recording him and say all these are false. Nobody touched him and whatever he said, nobody forced him to say; he said it out of his freewill in the presence of the Baale and the youth leader and of course members of the community. Are you getting me? Go ahead.”

Mgbadike80: OLUFEMI OLANIYI and Wale oyewale There is renewed tension in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State following the alleged takeover of two villages by some herdsmen. The two villages, Kajola and Gbagba Idere, are located in the Ayete Local Government Area of the state. Residents of Ayete told our correspondent that a Fulani herdsman, Iskilu Wakil, was asked to leave the villages because he did not buy the land he was occupying. This was said to have infuriated the herder, who claimed he was a combatant with arms and ammunition. The Asawo of Ayete, Oba Emmanuel Okeniyi, said those who have farms in the villages had fled the places over fear they might be attacked by Wakil. Oba Okeniyi said, “They asked him to leave the area. I don’t think he bought the land from anybody and the owners of the land asked him to leave. But rather than leaving, he has become a terror. The Fulani there usually destroy their farms. “The farmers in the villages have fled their places, they are just loafing about now. Government has deployed Amotekun personnel in Ayete. They came yesterday ( Friday) but I haven’t heard that they have gone to those villages” A resident of Ayete, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that Wakil and his followers barricaded the road leading to the villages, adding that they threatened to shoot dead any villager who moved close to the place. He said, “This started three days ago. The villagers had fled the place. The Amotekun personnel deployed by Oyo State Government are in Ayete, they have not gone to those villages. The police are not going there despite the several distress calls made to them. “The hunters in the town are ready to face Wakil and his followers but they are afraid because they believe if they fight and kill him, the Federal Government will move against them. But the same Federal Government is not doing anything to ameliorate the plight of the people now. People believe fighting against herdsmen is like fighting against the Federal Government. “One of the sons of Seriki Fulani who fled Igangan told me that Yoruba people should bring Sunday Igboho to face Wakil. He said he would finish him and his followers.” In a related development, it was gathered that there was tension in Igangan on Saturday following the alleged attack on a 65-year-old man, Adekola Adeyemo, and Jamiu Saedu, aged 30 by herdsmen. The two of them were said to have been attacked with machete cuts on their heads.

Politics › Re: For those saying that Fulanis are foreigners in Nigeria by Whoube99(f): 5:51am On Jan 30, 2021 |
Arrewa: HausaFulani is a term unique to Nigeria which collectively refers to the Hausa and Fulani as a people. The two are grouped together because since the Islamic revolution of Usman Danfodiyo their culture have become even more intertwined within Nigeria.
Hausafulani As the name suggests, the Hausa/Fulani are two ethnic groups which were formerly distinct but are now for all practical purposes intermixed to the extent of being regarded as one inseparable ethnic nation.
Although found throughout the grassland belt of West Africa, the bulk of the Hausa/Fulani population is concentrated in Northern Nigeria especially in and around the urban centres of Sokoto, Kano and Katsina which were important market centres on the southern section of the trans-Saharan caravan trade routes in the past.
The Hausa had established well organised city states before the advent of the Fulani. These states included Katsina, Daura, Kano Zazzau (Zaria), Biram and Gobir. Some of these were conquered and re-established by the Fulani. A few other kingdoms such as Katagum, Hadejia and Gombe were founded.
The coming of the Fulani into Hausaland resulted in significant changes in the area. They brought the full force of Islam which became a great factor of social life and culture. In education, dress, taste and outlook, the Hausa and their Fulani conquerors became part of the Islamic culture world. This influence remains till today. Many Hausa people continue to be subsistence farmers, with a few practising mixed farming. Others are skilled craftsmen, such as leather workers.
The Fulani on the other hand comprise’ ruling dynasties, semi-sedentary farmers, settled farmers and herders but in the main pastoralists. Today, Hausa/Fulani influence has spread over much of the culture in Northern Nigeria where the Hausa language has become important. Fulani herders are very bad people, there love crime. They Can destroy people's farm, kill, rape, kidnapp & steal |

Wisdomkosi: President Buhari Arrives Daura On A Four-Day Official Visit
President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Daura, his hometown, at the start of a four-day official visit.
IGBERE TV gathered that Buhari was welcomed on arrival at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina by the Governor, Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and the Chief Judge.
In Daura, the Emir, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, led District Heads and traditional title holders to receive the President at the Helipad.
In the course of his stay in Daura, he is expected to, among other engagements, participate in the All Progressives Party, APC membership registration and revalidation exercise.
The President considers this exercise as a very important one for the nation’s democracy and its yearning for good leadership as a requirement of the process of nation building.
In a broadcast last week, President Buhari urged “all good people,” not only to speak but to rise up and “get involved in the task of improving their society,” adding that “for most citizens, their greatest weapon is their vote. Register now for your Party and register when the time comes for elections.”
The President is expected to return to the nation’s capital on Tuesday.
