Politics › Re: Negotiate With Unrepentant Fulani Bandits, Grant Amnesty To Them – Sheikh Gumi by Whoube99(f): 3:47pm On Feb 05, 2021 |
valentineuwakwe: A renowned Islamic scholar, Ahmed Muhammad Gumi has urged the federal and state governments to grant amnesty to repentant bandits, saying that there will be serious bloodshed and merciless killings if the government and security agencies continue to engage the bandits on operation fire-for-fire.
Addressing newsmen at the chamber of the Government House in Gusau, the state capital, sheikh Gumi explained that the late President Musa Yar’Adua granted amnesty to militants in the South-South zone and went extra mile to create the ministry of Niger Delta Affairs which sheikh Gumi said calmed down the tensed situation.
“Negotiations remain the best option for conflict resolution. Negotiations settled the grievances of the militants in the South-South so president Buhari should borrow from that ideology to end terror attacks in his own government,” sheikh Gumi added.
According to Sheikh Gumi, almost all the heinous crimes in Nigeria are being perpetrated by the unemployed youths who have no defined means of livelihood for a number of years, pointing out that a hungry man is an angry man.
The Islamic scholar who visited some of the bandits dens and hideouts in Zamfara state said that the Fulani unrepentant bandits tabled some of their grievances which they said have not been addressed by the state government.
He said that the Fulani unrepentant bandits demanded justice in dealing with the Fulani people, saying that both the security agencies and the outlawed Yansakai members have classified the Fulani people as third-class citizens in a country that belongs to everybody.
The Islamic scholar explained that the Fulani unrepentant bandits also lamented that mere seeing any Fulani herdsman with a car or motorcycle has become a serious crime against the security agencies and the outlawed Yansakai members as they would seize the car or motorcycle from the Fulani herdsmen describing them as bandits or kidnappers.
Sheikh Gumi noted that the same Fulani unrepentant bandits also complained that during their meetings with the state government on peace accord and reconciliation, all the promises that were made by the state government did not reach the Fulani herdsmen as the kind gestures were being hijacked by the middlemen between the Fulani herdsmen and the state government.
“In some of our communities, there is no potable drinking water, no accessible road, no good health care delivery service or any form of social facility and until the state government addresses these problems, we will not embrace the peace accord and reconciliation” the unrepentant bandits lamented.
The Islamic scholar, therefore, called on the state government to as a matter of urgency ensure judicious distribution of any right that belongs to the Fulani people in the state, stressing that hijacking of their rights will aggravate the already existing tension in the state.
“There is nowhere that peace can reign without justice and if there is justice, the federal and state governments would not have been wasting huge amount of money to quell banditry in the state”

zendy: The leader of the indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, asked some questions during his broadcast yesterday 4/2/21. Broadcasting on multiple platforms such as Youtube, Radio App and his website, Kanu asked the following:
1) Since 2014, I have been warning Nigerians that Fulani herdsmen on the march, that they will come to kill, rape and take over people's lands. They said I want to cause war, they said I want to destabilise Nigeria. All I said, isnt it happening today?
2) Anyone criticising me for setting up ESN, anyone who is saying that ESN has no legal backing like Amotekun, I ask you this. If your parents are being killed, your sister is being raped and your land is being taken over, will you first defend your parents, your sister and your land? Or will you first go to look for legal backing?
3)In 2017, IPOB had no guns and killed nobody, the government declared a military expedition that came to the East to kill us and tag us terrorist. Today, Miyetti Allah and the herdsmen are armed and killing people all over Nigeria. Not only has no military expedition gone after them, and no talk of tagging them them terrorists, you actually have government defending them. So why do you want me to be part of a country where such injustice prevails?
4) Yoruba journalism is evil. I have many Yoruba friends that I respect, but most Yoruba journalists are about hypocrisy and brown envelope. Whenever they write about me, they say I am a fugitive who jumped bail. Yet they have seen the video of the Nigerian Army storming my house to kill me. They have seen pictures of those killed in my house. They know all of this is wrong and illegal, but they cannot tell the truth. One wonders why they have become such hypocrites?
5) In 2014 and 2015, some people kept shouting "an ex-general is what we need!". You finally got you ex- general, where is Nigeria today? May God keep on blessing MNK & protect him from all evil men and their plans |

lagdmark: Good day good people! Please i need urgent advice from experienced ladies and gentlemen in the house. My girlfriend only treat me with love and understanding when i upgrade her financially standards, or she scolded me harshly when i don't. I met her when i visited Lagos 5 years ago and two months later after my departure she broke the news of her pregnancy. To make tory short, I accepted the pregnancy and started sending her 100k monthly upkeep after the child birth. I also rented a flat for her and the baby with all bills paid just to move her away from her family palaver. After my boy's 3 years birthday i increased her monthly maintenance to #160k because of nursery school. Frankly, her beauty was appealing, i didn't ask for much, but I wanted her to take good care of the baby. I was always honest in the relationship, so i didn't promise her marriage.
Our Wahala started after my boy became 5 years, she wanted me to upgrade to 250k monthly upkeep for her and the baby which I refused. For the fact that I paid the house rent, school fees and utility bills separately. She went crazy reported me to my family members that I'm a stingy man that I don't know how difficult cost of living is in Nigeria. Perhaps i feel i was just brainwashed in our relationship because of her beauty. Should i upgrade her or ignore it, i want my boy to be well taking care of in Nigeria. Go do DNA test before e go shock you. Some of this men sef! Just because of facial look na im blow ya head like dat, what if she come get manners, na im be say you for walk naked be that. Marine54: Nigerian Government Is Guilty Of Aiding Killer Fulani Herdsmen To Commit Crimes --- Tunde Bakare
The Senior Pastor of The Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, says the Nigerian government is guilty of aiding the Fulani herdsmen committing crimes across the country.
Bakare said this during an Instagram Live programme with the Publisher of the Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, monitored by SaharaReporters on Tuesday evening.
He condemned the atrocities of the Fulani herdsmen which has spread to every nook and cranny of the nation. He also asserted that Nigerians are in great danger if the problems persist till 2023, saying the next presidential election is still far away.
“The government is a guilty party for aiding the killer Fulani herdsmen in committing crimes of killing, abduction and destruction of farms in the country,” Bakare said. I want a country where I can sleep with my two eyes closed. Lawlessness is everywhere, abduction takes place every day. And this happens as a result of deficient leadership. Protecting our territorial integrity should be the most important thing now.”
According to the legal luminary, the culture of moving cattle from one geographical location to another to graze is outdated, hence the government should help the herders understand this.
Reacting to why he had not mobilised protests against the present government as he did during the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, Bakare described such things as generational.
He said, “It’s a generational thing. You cannot condemn a generation for what they have done or not done. During the time of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr Nnamdi Azikwe, they faced bullets and harder things but served their generation. The same things happened during the times of my boss, Chief Gani Fawehinmi and the rest. We also have done our part. So, I think it’s not about being scared, but about what a generation uses at a point in time to correct a bad government.
“When it’s your day, your turn, you must do your part also. A day is coming when this younger generation too will say they have done their part of facing the oppression of the government.”
When it’s your day, your turn, you must do your part also. A day is coming when this younger generation too will say they have done their part of facing the oppression of the government.”
Bakare, who was the running mate of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011 under the Congress for Progressive Change, also said that almost all the major regions in Nigeria long to break away from Nigeria because of the poor performance of the Buhari-led administration.
“Now if you listen to the news and see what’s going on, the drums of disintegration are louder than ever before,” Bakare said.
Though he preferred the country to stay together as one, he averred that if breaking away of regions to be sovereign nations would be better for the people, it should happen.
He cited examples of Russia, Latvia, Ukraine and others that broke out of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, as well as Pakistan and Bangladesh coming out of India.
About the emergence of a rights activist in Oyo State, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, the pastor described him as a revolutionary like the Jephtae in the Bible who demanded justice for his people.
“Self-defence is permissible in law. That’s why someone can use provocation as an excuse to kill another fellow. But two wrongs cannot make a right. I told Sunday Igboho immediately he issued that threat that we should find alternative solutions to this issue to avert a bloodbath.
“Let’s not play legal semantics with this issue. When the government failed to bring to book those who are killing innocent people, I don’t blame the guy, Sunday Igboho for standing up. He wants justice for his people, so he can’t be blamed. Although, as I said earlier, two wrongs cannot make a right.”
Finally, when talking about things to do to address the multiple problems of the country, Bakare said, “There are so many things that can be done right. For example, the country needs almost immediately a presidential council reconciliation team to address the integration of this country. We need more than people just sitting in Abuja postulating issues.”
