People of Osun we don't need to worry ourselves. In the days to 2007 election in Lagos, Obanikoro uses thugs and miscreants to campaign, he armed them and everywhere you go the slogan is "ko si Koro ko si ibo". The " giragira" was too much then, but what happened, he lost woefully. I don't expect less from him and Adesiyan combined. "A won Omo ale Yoruba, Osun ni yio pon omi si gbogbo yin nikun". We welcome you all to our safe and peaceful state. I know Abuja is not as safe, calm and peaceful like Ipinle Omoluabi. |
highchiefpee:When pple throw truth to the winds in the name of politics, when good reasoning and intellectual development by technocrats was jettisoned for a non-achiever. Then there is a bigger problem. I don't expect everybody to sing Aregbe's praise. When Fashola demolishes Oshodi and other eyesore shanties along major roads, everybody was shouting the man would not win election again. But he won and everybody gives kudos to him for what he did in Oshodi today. For me, I have never seen any administrator except Leo Ajiborisha that have shown passion and zeal to do a good work in Osun like Aregbesola. Like him or hate him, of all the gubernatorial contestants he is the leading light and that's what the good unbiased and progressive oriented people of Osun would support. Let me quote a political party member "what we have in Osun is a ruse, the man is just turning the whole state to a construction site". Yes, let the construction continues and we will be the better for it. I can move from Gbongan Ibadan road to orita Ayetoro without hassle unlike before. "Ibi ohun to dara lemi wa o, E mi o si ni idi ibaje. Inira ni a ko ila ti o ba jinna tan a di ohun oge". |
August 9 I mean. |
When President was in Osogbo people left before he finished his speech after they have marked register and collect their dues. But this is a sharp contrast. People had been standing inside rain since 10am and they are still there. Politics should be interesting with people standing by what they believe in. PDP misfire with Omisore and Jonathan and this would come back to haunt them on August 8 and in 2015 general election. Osun A Dara! |
This is like Bola Age coming to Osogbo a day before Gubernatorial election in 1999 at 11:45pm- almost midnight and people troop out enmasse to welcome him and listen to his campaign. It is raining and people are inside to listen to their own governor - Ogbeni Raid Adesoje Aregbesola. We are back to the Glorious days of SW politics. We want development and progress for our state not retrogression. |
Oh my God!!! Thank you Oh Lord. Somebody said that the whole SW receive Good luck Jonathan. They should tune to NTA to watch what's happening now in Osogbo. I'm happy Osun people appreciates good things. It reminds me of MKO Abiola's campaign in Osogbo in 1993. Osun decides to move forward again and backward never. We are the true Progressives. The only state that is truly progressive in SW. Adieu to my mentor Chief Ajibola Age may your activist soul rest in perfect peace. We miss you in Osun Sate. |
Which SW? The rented crowd that left the stadium even before the President starts its speech. I was hurrying to Osogbo after OAU post utme yesterday only to meet most of PDP supporters back in Ile-Ife. I believe most of them are rented crowd who returned having collected their fee and marked register. We were laughing inside the bus yesterday as the President was making his speech on the radio with pple making fun of him and his policies and we met pple on bike and motors with PDP flags coming out of Osogbo. I would have been there because I want to see him life for once. But I got to the stadium whem he was leaving. Have you ever watch APC rally? Very interesting and you would not leave till the end. Jonathan dissapoint the masses who have been on his side but continue to satisfy his cohorts who are misrepresenting him at the detriment of the masses. We saw three tankers of Kerosene at PDP secretariat when it is not available at any filling station. So if we are not PDP members no kerosene for us except at the black market @ #135. What we were told was subsidized to #50. The rice that was banned from importation and the price skyrocketed was being distributed by PDP in Osun state to sway electorate. We rejected Jonathan once and by the Special Grace of God we will reject him again. We are progressives and democrats we will reject the reactionary forces. 2007 is still fresh in our minds. They came to opposition areas with armed public security forces and hired machinery. Esuleke was shot 15 times @ point blank without any offense he was whisked away immediately becos he is an opposition. His son leg was pierced with bullet. Osun is not for PDP and we will proof it again. It is not by might or force but by God and peace loving people of Osun State. |
Where is the pics. Let's see the crowd at the rally. |
Why are pole so gullible. FG that have systematically reduce and delay Osun monthly allocation and delay till the ffwg month (June just paid), but the state government had even paid July salary. Osun PDP corners SURE-P for itselve. Private individuals that applied with good credit were denied would allow Aregbe to have access to that fund. That would have been the miracle of the century. They should come out and say what they've achieved with SURE-P in Osun. (PDP are thieves and armed robbers). Would PDP fund a system they are shouting is bad? The commissioner was right. Does it not belong to us all? We all pay for fuel. Shouldn't we benefit from it? with their attrocities at the top, they are dazed by that man's peformance. Finally, only a fool would believe a fool because they think alike. O'School bus was from that remnant of the pilfered allocation they send to us. |
Alhamd Lillah. The moon had been sighted in Saudi Arabia and South Africa. |
http://moonsighting.com/1435shw.html Yes. They are not saying whether you should start or break your fast on a particular day. They just give us actual instance of moon phases. Check this for moon sighting across the world. |
Salam Alaekun. Dear brothers and sisters in Islam The moon had not been sighted anywhere. What was sighted was the hilal of the dying moon of Ramadan. The earliest moon would be sighted would be late this morning in Nigerian time. Pls you can visit www.moonsighting.com for more information. Ma Salam |
Forget abt these. APC are not distributing petrol o. PDP is distributing kerosene, rice and money. While APC is distributing rice for their ward members. |
Lie, lie and blatant lie. Pls, and pls don't play politics with religion. It is very bad. Aregbe had decentralize religion both Islam and Christianity in Osun. He selects those worthy to go on Holy Pilgrimage - worship centre cleaners, ushers and people who never thought they would be called upon. Those prostitutes who have been benefitting from the politician-cum religious leaders were left on the wall with 1/2 slots. He is the best to have happen to State of Osun. The people against him are those who have been milking the state of tangible progress since inception. State of Osun is not crawling again, it is soaring above its contemporaries. |
PDP coming back to Osun. God forbids bad thing for Omoluabi State. People were hunted down in 2007 and 2003 becos they belong to another party. You are not allowed to say anything against them/your house would be visited by thugs/or get arrested. Insecurity was the order of the day. 18b naira Ultra Modern market is there before Akoda for everybody to see (bush higher than Igbo Olodumare) Flooding everywhere (the Governor's comment will be evergreen in our memory, while people are really suffering) A senator for eight year that cannot tar the road to his house not put ECN solar lights only other road that led to his house. With all these and others too numerous to mention some people still want us to go back to those days with kerosene and rice that would be taken out of us 1 billion times. We are better with what we can see and better by far than anybody who had ruled Osun since inception. |
We should be careful of these old he goats. Jonathan should reason and think properly before answering or uttering any statement about all these letters. The polity is being heated up unnecessarily. OBJ,Clark and Jonathan should know more than what they are saying. Jonathan is the one that can decide the fate of this country right now, any step he take would decide what would happen in the next few years to come. Power corrupts absolutely. Constitutionally, he is very qualified to contest, that he signed a pact with some N. governors - that's their own cup of tea. Those of us who are just looking for where we would get a good meal day in day out would be affected the most most since most of those who have been in power have houses and investments somewhere else not Nigeria. They are all birds of the same feather. There is a wise saying ""Show me your friend and I would tell you the kind of person you are!" A word is enough for the wise. |
Don't fool yourselves. ASUU is very much still on strike. The schools were being opened by the VCs who are political appointees of the government. They were directed by the committee of the VCs and Pro-chancellors. Schools would be reopened but where are the lecturers to teach. In fact the lecturers might be on campus but they won't go to class. Pls, lets beg Oga Jonathan to accept the ASUU conditions which to me are very simple and straight forward for anybody who is SINCERE. Sign the agreement with the given witnesses - CBN and ATTORNEY GENERAL shikena! Everybody would be happy not not the 180 degrees turn - resume or I sack all of you. Late Gen. Abacha try it even bring soldier to staff quarters to forcefully eject them at the end of the day ASUU won. Pls, for posterity sake and for the sake of average Nigerian who couldn't afford private school/Ghana/Europe/Asia/Americas. Jonathan please!!! Students are tired of sleeping, watching films, reading novels and roaming about. |
The principal was beaten by the thugs hired by Romoke -the girl at the centre of the crisis. The principal said that she was rude and asked her to serve a punishment but instead she ignored the principal and starts asking for snacks from her friend. This led to the principal beaten her and she went out and brought her thugs to beat the principal in retaliation. She does not wear Hijab nor does she has any in her bag at the time. The issue is not religious as most daily newspapers reported it it was about disciplinary issue. Please, let us get the truth before we started pointing accusing fingers at people/institutions who are innocent. |
Very Ugly!!! |
It is the worst ever for Osogbo - the seat of power! Added to that is lack of patriotism. Light just come and go anyhow. less than 1 min. - 12 hrs. It is terrible!. Final match day - u17 World cup, just start the match and lo and behold Almighty Shylock (no PHCN again) struck. It was brought back 7hrs later. I pray this is not the beginning of exploitation galore! We don't depend on Afam - Kainji Dam straight. Maybe water is at lowest ebb ever. We fold hand they watch. |
Pls, nairalanders let be objective in criticizing this write up. He had presented his own view on the issue and we should also present our own view also with good point. In my school as an engineering student, there are some labs we were supposed to go through but the equipment were not there. We were just shown images and recorded lab practicals downloaded from internet which is thousand miles wide from real practicals hands-on of those equipment in a proper lab. Ghana, that our politicians and rich businesswomen/men are sending their wards to were at home for a year! But now the educational system is the better for it. They don't want to rubbish the educational system like health, where even a corpse would be taken overseas for preservation! Though students are going to bear much of the strain of this strike, it would be better if we can look for something feasible while we are at home. Too much internet, TV and games would have adverse effect on us. Let's look at our surroundings and make meaningful contributions that we, our family and the community would be proud of. |
Please posters let's reason well about this issue. Don't let us trade blame but to fight for what is right. Everybody in this gruesome drama is at fault. Jonathan, Amaechi and Wike. |
I'm also watching it live on Channels TV on internet. http://m.channelstv.com/windows/ Pls, lets watch and comment. Nigeria O ni daru o. |
Pls, my fellow Nigerians let us be sincere, this "opon imo" is just a way to bring education at present level to "local" school children. Most of us are being jealous or in denial. This tool is just a digitized textbook like the one being used in advanced countries for even basic education, no internet access, just a learning tool (pictures below for more clarification). Should we be condemn to "tokunbo" materials? We tend to use present technology widely after 10-15 years it had been in existence. This is an opportunity to jump start "local" students education in Nigeria. I called it local because, those who attends public schools nowadays, very poor, poverty stricken children were in majority, tattered clothes and empty stomach is what they go to school on and yet they are today bestowed with the toga of pride for which other would be jealous of. Private school children were the first to use anything "good" in life in terms of education/educational materials.. No matter what anybody might said, Aregbe has done the unthinkable for me. Public school children would have a a digitized tablet. It is in our unthinkable dream. Who prophesied that? Nobody. Dividend of democracy indeed to everybody, even people who count themselves out of government largesse. We pray that more and more dividend would get to the public without any relations to those in government. Pls, see student using it in other countries. Glory be to God.

I'm fed up with Nigerians. Somebody had gone a long way in making poor people enjoy what the richest are proud of and people are castigating him as a fool. Why are we selfish? A lot of commentators on this forum don't have android phone, not to talk of of Ipad. This is the beginning, the 2nd batch of "Opon Imo" would be assembled in Osun State and OYES volunteers would be part of the team too so that they would be the "mechanics" for the "Opon Imo". We are talking of dividend of democracy and we are not thinking of the poor people who can not send their children to private schools. This is their opportunity to get something from the government. "Opon Imo" would be produced en masse and even private schools in Osun state would benefit by paying for it at a cheaper cost than being sold at the open market with all the contents. Please, instead of castigating the brains behind this laudable project why not suggest ways, the students can derived maximum benefit from these tools and be able to stand among their peers anywhere in the world. I pray that we have people who will not be selfish and steals government money until the treasury bleeds but consider the poor masses who takes the brunt of all government anti-poor policies. I rest my case. |
In summary - Animal Farm or Nigerian Farm ![]() May God help the poor masses. |
Please, help us confirm how much a litre pf PMS cost? Because it is now #110/litre in Osogbo. May God deliver us from Shylock fuel dealers. |

To be sincere, they were trained by the Cubans and there are people sent to Cuba also to watch and learn on this. I can recall that both Segun and Ajoke were real Cubans given Nigerian names. |
That's what baffles me abt those apc clowns,a governor that has borrowed over 200billion aprt frm the states monthly allocation and lgs allocation which he never release to the lgs since he has assumed power!is now constructing localgovt roads and 1 or 2 federal roads apc peeps dey make noise say he dey develop osun, all the infrastructures they are making noise abt is nt up to 50billion,now with all the debts and d funds ogbeni has been collectin since over 44 months nw is he telling us that its only lg roads that he can shw for it,ogbenin is a greedy mafucker he doesn't deserve a 2nd term!!
