That clearifies stuff thanks. Not exactly how I thought it works, sort of close though. It would seem newer consoles have a different bootldr which uses the lv02 modules, and these use a different set of keys. Unless those keys are found, no show for us.
Christianity EtcRe: If You Had A Chance To Live In The Biblical Times; Who Would You Be? by wiegraf: 12:43pm On Oct 25, 2012
This is actually a good question, it highlights one core issue many people who don't share your faith would have with it (this applies to a lot of religions). The desire to return to the past and hamper progress because you've somehow been brainwashed into think that period was a better one. Incredibly, many even thinking it was more enlightened. If you can't see what I'm saying, think of muslims and their desire to have sharia, drafted 1400 years ago when slavery and various other abominations were the norm, in today's world.

Throw out all your rights, your technology, modern medicine, etc. Dream up a world that existed 2000 years ago that is better than the current one if you want. Just don't expect others trying to aid humanity positively and objectively, by like say establishing human rights or medical research etc, to indulge you.
IslamRe: Jesus Pbuh Prophecy On Muhammad Pbuh by wiegraf: 11:49am On Oct 25, 2012
Many other prophets recognize older religions, prophets. They all claim to be the one true whatever.
Regardless, why do you muslims insist on doing this? Are you programmed to try and assimilate whenever possible? Aren't you happy with your corner and having moh as your special friend?

While this term is used mostly in software circles, it seems it's the mode of operation for various religions (I'm looking at you xtianity in relation to judaism, and islam to xtianity)

musKeeto: We are on the same page. Whatever fabric, if there is any, that holds our society is in tatters and needs to be rewoven.

There is no society per se in Nigeria, just a bunch of individuals trying to outdo each other and hoping for the right opportunity to 'hammer', doesnt matter who is hurt in the process..

Do I love my country? Yes...
Do I think there's hope? No, not if it continues on this downward trend...

Take for instance ALUU. Horrible, horrible, horrible. The kids in that community will be grown up sooner than we think. What lessons/morales will they have picked up from this incident?

We've been posting horrible results in WAEC and NECO exams. These kids will be adults soon.

An Indian here told me he visited Nigeria some years back. His dad works in Abuja. He said our aeroplanes are as crowded as the buses here. It was a funny comment, but it got me thinking. People have become too self-centered, and as long as they're making just enough to live above the sufferings of the common man, its not their problem..

I'm not saying everyone should try to fix the problems of our society, its easier said than done, and tbh much risky.

The truth is if we keep 'hoping' for change to come, change will also keep 'hoping' for us to come...

I hope to get involved in media services, probably through online media as soon as I'm through here.

The only hope for a 'change' is if people, esp those my age, are made aware of how one's actions, which may seem so trivial, may actually have a negatively profound effect on society.
This is worrying. That was put together excellently. If you become serious then what am I supposed to do?

IslamRe: The First Question U'll Ask Muhammad In Al(Janna) by wiegraf:
Sweetnecta: @wiegraf: i dont need your links. i do hope that you know that your freedom of speech has a limit in the real world, otherwise someone may put his foot somewhere or respond in kind to you by slandering the person you love most. i love my momma most among living people, today. i will hate it if somebody slander her. you see that freedom of speech has limitation in my book?
My freedom of speech has no limit in the real world, just like yours. You need to get that into your system. I find it quite insulting that you somehow think yourself the judge my freedom. I'm confused as to what gives you the right.
The world is not built around me, I have already explained this. If someone's aim was to slander me, again, I will be civilized. You do understand that violence is one of the stoopidest ways to resolve a dispute, not to mention it could cause irreversible harm, like death. It may need to be used as a very last resort (and even then only when your life/freedom is jeopardy, like some wars), but more often than not it solves absolutely nothing. If someone chose to resort to violence over something I say, well. Not sure why I have to keep pointing this out to you.

Sweetnecta: first, jews are not the only semites. i by virtue of being a muslim is a semite. by my blood to makka because of my ethnic origin, i am a semite. Mary is not a christians and you need to get that into your system. no one says Muhammad [sa] is sleeping with Mary just like i am not sleeping with a houri.
huh
You're an ethnic semite? Even if that were true, what does that have to do with anything? Does that mean all those papers don't slander jews? Mary was not an xtian, so what? Let me guess, she was a muslim then? Many xtians would consider that blasphemy, you are aware of that? I suppose they should come beat you up now.

Many people say she is sleeping with mohammed, as these guys point out

www.answering-islam.org/Shamoun/mary.htm
wikiislam.net/wiki/Qur'an,_Hadith_and_Scholars:Muhammad#Muhammad_the_Husband_of_Mary

They really hate islam though, so I can't tell if it's in the official hadith or not. If it is, well, you know people get stoned to death because of hadiths, yes? I would imagine that makes them rather relevant. Don't even go near the 72 houri

Sweetnecta: you seem to be talking as if you know any jew. have you gone to a jewish home? no. have you dialogue with a jew about religion? i have done both and i wonder why you thin they call you gentile or goyim if they are so matured? heck. you have a lot to learn until you hit the real world where most jews will think you are literally a brainless man because you are black. are you kidding. you need to get out there and trek to Jerusalem and i will love to read you even the most dishonest report of people of your lord.
You seem to be talking like a proud bigot. There's really not much more I can add to that. Except maybe that if you're one of those first in line to whine about islamophobia (an oxymoron imo) when someone claims all muslims are barbarians, then would be a hypocrite as well. Note, I am not saying you are these things, but you clearly come across as a bigoted hypocrite atm.

How do you know I've not 'hit the real world' yet? Even if I have, and I my subjective opinion actually agreed with yours, how does that affect the objective fact that you don't see jews attacking embassies, killing cartoonists, etc over those cartoons?

Sweetnecta: christianity and spiritual maturity are never to be used in the same sentence unless you are blaming the christian. you could abuse Jesus and they dont care. but talk about their momma and see the fist flying towards you. i wonder which one is spiritually greater?
And again, huh
You actually think that the fact xtians are less likely to resort to violence over beliefs based on faith is a bad thing? Again, a bit speechless, but you're confirming my suspicions
Christianity EtcRe: If You'd Been Born In China, You Wouldn't Be A Christian by wiegraf:
OLAADEGBU: I know that you athiests have set yourselves up as the custodian of the truth but let me upset the apple pie with some solemn truths. Most of the Chinese folks you saw in those videoclips were born in China into a non christian environment who got converted by the power of the gospel that you reject. You may quote the population of "Christians" in official churches permitted by the Government but the exponential growth is taking place in the underground churches of which you know nothing about. So your philosophies are proved to be wrong as evidenced by these same videoclips that you are trying to hide under the carpet so that they don't see the light of the day. You might as well close the thread since it is your forte to close topics you don't agree with.
I didn't want to put numbers in my earlier post because there's simply not enough information, but even the most optimistic estimates stop at about 70 million. Where did you get the other 50 million? We should take your word for it because? And again, these are the most optimistic estimates, the actual number is probably lower. Probably higher than the official ~30 the government gives, but almost certainly not by over double that figure.

Official count of muslims is at about ~20 million. I'll estimate ~45 million xtians and ~30 million muslims for now. Considering the population of china, these numbers are very small. And that is the point of this thread, very few people consciously choose their religion after even the slightest bit of impartial deliberation, their choice is often determined by indoctrination. In fact, even in these populations, when the head of the family switches religion, s/he will probably take their family along as well. So indoctrinated are numerous in these figures as well. These arguments don't actually help your case. In fact, if we look closely, it will probably aid mine. I would just have to show that most of this population is comprised of family units, not the odd individual family members with the gall to think for themselves. I don't have the time or bandwidth to spend on videos, etc atm though

And what are these atheist philosophies you speak of?

Random: @vedax, take a bow, seems like you've earned yourself some disciples, incredible...

edit: these guys have 40 million protestants, 14 million catholics, so roughly 55. It also points out the 130 seems to be a made up number among other things. Like a lot of these churches wouldn't qualify as xtian to many, they'd be more like cults. Then again, the number of these sort of xtians is unknown.
http://www.assistnews.net/Stories/2008/s08120056.htm

this article says govt paper said at least 50
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/belief/2009/dec/18/chinese-christians-religion-house-church

So I would raise my estimate optimistically to 65, roughly 5 percent of the population.

More random: no clear numbers on how many families involved, but apparently 70 percent are women

GamingRe: Official Ps3 Jailbreak Thread by wiegraf:
Evil Brain: The current CFW can only be installed on PS3s running 3.55. But in principle, the lv0 keys should enable hacking of everything up to the latest firmware. You'll just have to wait awhile though for other CFWs to come out.

This is a major security setback for Sony. There are still a few more things they can do to slow down hackers, but the battle is almost over.
From what I can tell, newer models are not hardware bound to those keys, they can be changed with a software update. They're like a master key used to determine if the other keys, like the ones which the current cfws have been using, are valid, encrypt/decrypt them etc. (Though there's still 1 level below lv0x, said level is hardware bound on all consoles, but keys for that level remain secret)

There's already lv02(?) system being used. I would think if your console is already using lv02 system, you can't install cfw based on these keys. It might be that your console supports lv02 (from all indications, no), but is still using lv0, I wonder if those systems can get cfw? If that is the case, never upgrade as your keys will likely be updated in any future updates. This lv02 system was probably implemented in anticipation of a leak like this actually.

There's also the fact that as lv0x are root keys, they probably could be used to determine what other keys are with some work. These could then be used to make cfw greater than 3.55 which would work on newer consoles. These cfw would be similar to the ones being used currently.

For those with consoles with hardware bound lv0 keys and a cfw built around this, from now on you need not ever worry about keys blocking the system. You will from now have access to everything, including psn, maybe with just the odd minor patch or two along the way. And you might not even need a completely new cfw as well, the current ones might get by with just a patch.

Convulted post, I know, it's a fairly poor way of describing how I understand it, which may be wrong as well. But yeah, it could lead to good news for those with lv02 as well, just it would take some work and pl willing to go against sony. For those with lv0 consoles though, it's excellent news.

Edit
GamingRe: Official Ps3 Jailbreak Thread by wiegraf:
Evil Brain: Good news! The lv0 keys have been released. That means the latest firmware can be decrypted and CFW is inevitable.

Have patience brothers (and sisters), your consoles shall soon be free!

arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/10/sony-faces-setback-as-hackers-release-playstation-3-decryption-keys/

Edit: Just checked and it turns out that new CFW is already available. That was fast!
Wait first.... Will this work for me, slim, probably on the latest firmware?

Googles, but last time my model was too new for even the hardware hack, and most sites seemed to omit that rather important bit of info.

Edit: from what I can decipher it won't work for 3k models.

Christianity EtcRe: If You'd Been Born In China, You Wouldn't Be A Christian by wiegraf: 12:33am On Oct 24, 2012
The most popular religion in the world tries to pass itself off as the underdog, it appeals, makes them feel important. An already deluded people, so it actually should be expected. Muslims like to claim they are constantly being persecuted as well, despite their default mode being them persecuting others. Look at the history of martyrdom of both faiths. Meh.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_martyrs#Historical_importance
""Persecution was seen by early Christians, as by later historians, as one of the crucial influences on the growth and development of the early Church and Christian beliefs. (Frend) shows how the persecutions formed an essential part in a providential philosophy of history that has profoundly influenced European political thought."[9]

Among other things, persecution sparked the cult of the saints, facilitated the rapid growth and spread of Christianity, prompted defenses and explanations of Christianity (the "apologies" ) and, in its aftermath, raised fundamental questions about the nature of the church."

There aren't that many xtians in china anyways, considering their population, nevertheless expect the spin from religious.

Atheism has nothing to do with the repression of others, it is simply a lack of belief in gods. Somebody repressing religion? Then likely that person is pushing another religion on you, like a state or personality cult. Mao, Stalin, Kim, Hitler (a catholic though) and Nazism, Fascists (though most were religious as well). Note, all these are RELIGIONS. They espouse their dogma and demand you don't ask questions, that pretty much is textbook religion. Now, look through the HDI index and look up other countries with large numbers of atheists which do not push silly state based religions, rather those that have secular humanist values. Can you notice a trend?

Regardless, you're the exception, not the norm. The very vast majority are simply responding to their indoctrination.

In your case I would argue that you tried to break free, became troubled, then decided to settle on something clos to home. A bit like a rationalization, telling yourself you've actually explored other options and have indeed chosen another faith when in fact you've only made superficial changes. Since I don't know you though this would be speculation.

vedaxcool: It took Two Moderators to close one Vedaxcool thread, after strictly moderating my thread, and deliberately ignoring his atheists brethren misdeeds. manmustwac, co opted his Christian side kick JeSoul to lock a thread, in which his interest in moderating only what vedaxcool wrote or said, this reflects badly on them. My calaculations from the Onset clearly indicated these was going to happen and yet the duo proved me right. Could Mudley313 be right on JeSoul? Isn't this the deapths of spiritual poverty and childish malice? I think it takes only atheists fools to complain about Mac's moderating when under their very nose dishonesty and perversion of values is happening. Now the words of the misguided will always be invoked against them for posterity.
Now we see what leaving under athiest rule will look like:

1. Only Atheist will have rights

2. Freedom of speech to insult God and Mock religion will be celebrated while freedom to question the behavior of atheist and their morals willbe met with the vicious arm of atheism.

3. It gets worse, atheist will be free to commit crime while theist will be held under contempt and punished for crimes they have not even committed.

4. Under this very moral order, atheist will expect that you only state your position once (offcourse even providing supporting evidence to your earlier [position is simply wanting to die by water boarding) while on the otehr hands atheist are allowed to repeat their position over and over again.

We could simply conclude living under atheism will be living under a crushing arms of oppression and absolute corruption.

Wordsmith: the 2012 Dragonage animated movie is anime, or should i say the art style is.

Blood C is part of the Blood franchise. A spin off of Blood series

In addition, has anyone see Karas the Revelation? Pretty violent and gory as well.
The dragonage I saw (or almost see, I never make it past ~20 mins) was clearly not anime, so we're probably not talking about the same one. It wasn't even as close as say avatar is to anime, and I wouldn't call last airbender anime. What would qualify as anime anyways?
Blood c? Interesting, I'll see what it's about. And yup, karas had a lot of well done action, to me it was a little too much action and not enough substance. If we're adding that we might as well add afro samurai and final fantasy advent children (both guilty of not having enough substance as well, plenty plenty good action scenes, but that's just my opinion anyhoo).
