Thank you! Was scrolling down with increasing frustration and disappointment, aghast that supposed Christians haven't heard of Saint Nicholas after whom Father Christman (Santa Claus) was named!

Some Christians haven't.. The Catholics believe in St Nicklaus and hence Santa Claus. But some other protestant churches attributes him to Satan.. Santa. Imagine.

And perhaps it's because of the how his story is being told from history to folklore

No one knew where these gifts came from. Until one night a kid saw him placing gifts at the foot of their Xmas tree. The next morning the cat was out of the bag. It was St Nicholas. Hence the name Santa (saint ) Klaus as in Nicklaus .

So in turn kids leave a stocking full of cookies and hot cocoa, because of the cold nights in Europe.

Saint Nicholas was just a rich pious man who does charity for people and who goes in the dead of night to spread joy and happiness by gifting good kids.

Even after his death, people took it in turn to spread this legend and made it into a tradition and so Santa Claus was born.

It spread to the new world ( America) with the immigration of the Dutch settlers.

So where did Christmas come from...? From Dutch tradition. Isn't It beautiful??
