patricktoks:Please check my responses regarding finding journals...you can read a few pages back. |
Tending:This is nice and you have an awesome academic background. Actually, this will largely depend on your personal interest. If I were in your position, I would go for either of these areas: 1. Computer Fraud & Security (This will be useful in various real-life applications due to increasing threats by cybercriminals and allied criminals) 2. Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (This is very important practically and gaining worldwide usage) 3. Energy Storage Materials 4. Circuits design for biomedical and optical communication systems 5. Intelligent fault detection, fault analysis, diagnostics and monitoring Best wishes! |
asunmoGGMU:Yes, only articles published in journals indexed under SCI/SCI-e/SSCI/AHCI and found in WOS (web of science) are paid by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. However, some of the universities give some credence to SCOPUS-based journals. Majority of universities in developed nations rank it this way for now SCI=SCI-e=SSCI=AHCI=WOS....then SCOPUS. Reason being that Scopus is a large interdisciplinary database from Elsevier, however, WOS is a collection of databases and covers more than SCOPUS, stricter in its citation sources (excludes non-reputable/unknown publishers sources for its citation). Best wishes! |
sentaljohn:Since you already published these research studies, you may have to let go and do more newer research to publish in reputable journals. You may wish to retract them if such journals allow that. Those Fake Indian journals usually bring down the profile of reputable academics. However, when you have more from reputable journals it will swallow the fakes. From my years of experience, I have been able to secure funding and various research collaboration due to my research output since every other organization will be interested to evaluate the applicant based on their profile. Best wishes! |
storm4help:I have responded to a PhD applicant just there. at EMU, total phd cost is around 9500$. Here the cost is based per course your are registered to per semester so no fixed cost per year. Averagely if you register for 2 courses per semester meaning 4 courses a year, you will be paying around 3500$. Yes I can help with the admission! Usually there is entrance scholarship of 50% which is already included in the fees making it 9500$ entire program (provided you graduate within 4-5 years). If your PhD extends more than 5 years, you will pay more. If your undergraduate CGPA exceed 3.5/4 you may qualify to apply for full scholarship but this is competitive, however, many with very high undergraduate was selected if they apply at the right time. For teaching assistant position, you can apply when you reach the university, it’s competitive but possible. |
alexie49:Please ensure you have adequate finance that caters for your tuition, accommodation and living expenses before you embark in this journey. Without a sponsor and adequate financial muscle, I will advise you study in your country. Life can be hell without finance abroad and jobs are not easy to come by! Abroad is not bed of roses or road littered with gold...whatever scholarship, ensure it covers tuition and living cost. Best wishes in your search for scholarship! |
mustyy:Adsorption is based on surface property, the affinity of the adsorbent towards the adsorbate, then both physical and chemical characters of the potential adsorbent are necessary. For agro-waste, the catch is that it can be subjected to valorization (value-added) and also serves as an emerging research area called bio-economy (becoming popular in Western Europe now) and cost implication. Apart from the low-cost of the agro-based adsorbent, the potential adsorbent must have a high surface area, well-developed porosity (for trapping pollutant), environmentally friendly, easy to process, have useful functional groups that may be attractive for selective adsorption of pollutant. Can be regenerated and can stand high reuse cycles. You have to characterize such potential adsorbent before you can know its physicochemical characters. Meanwhile, you can visit ScienceDirect for various agro-based used for adsorption. Attached is one sample review you can always find many.

jimzy4u:Yes you can email me! |
Phynad:Go to your portal, you offer letter is already issued. Mostly, the message you received is automated and when the acceptance letter is issued you may likely not get a message so check your application portal. Also, note there is short enhancement ongoing with the EMU application portal. |
jimzy4u:That’s nice to hear... which area of research in physics you are thinking to work on? |
mustyy:Check the email the password to open it was included in the email. It’s a large encrypted files. |
ejiykzazi2007:Yeah, an abstract is the summarized version of the literature review, methodology applied, results, trend and quantitative conclusions. In your case, kindly supply them with 200-400 words if there is no word count: The abstract can be structured in three parts: 1. The first part is the introduction section, give the background, the global and specific issues, and the hypothesis (about 3-4 sentences). This should take 40%. 2. The second part abstracts: the proposed/frequently used methodology for data gathering, give a brief overview of the proposed sampling/methods and techniques to use in gathering your data (about 2-4 sentences). This part should take 50% of the abstract. 3. The third part abstracts: the Proposed solution you intend to provide to the challenges/issues in the first part. This should take 10% of the abstract. Best wishes! |
mustyy:Please check your email. I have sent you about 35 of my SCI publications related to wastewater treatment. |
goodmanEU:Read one-two pages back, I have provided means to know a reputable journals. Best wishes |
mustyy:Thank you...you will have them shortly! |
BiggyB242:Read more on my write up in this particular thread, you will find where have mentioned how to find topics yourself. PhD is about research and intending Phd student or Phd candidate must be capable of doing searches.....for some hints, visit sciencedirect to find latest and upcoming challenges in your field and the solutions s being provided and the missing links! |
BiggyB242:The publication must be reputable (must be SCI, SSCl, WOS). Since in this particular case, we are talking about Turkey, only researchers with Turkish affiliation or where there articles carry Turkey as address are paid and funded. |
TadeDetule:Alright, try to publish in a quality SCI/SSCI journal....then register with Tubitak ULAKBİM....you will get your publication paid. Best wishes! |
TadeDetule:There is no nationality clause. Anybody can get this funding and also get paid by TUBITAK irrespective of the nationality. To get paid for the publication by TUBITAK you don’t need anybody to apply through, you only need your published paper and bank account detail as simple as ABC....do you have any published paper now if yes, I can guide you how to get the money too simple.... Last 2 months I got 33,000 TL directly paid to my account while i was even teaching in Canada. Do you have any published paper, tell me The name of the journal I will tell you how much you will be paid ... To be funded by TUBITAK, there are lots of funding that TUBITAK gives, you just need to see the one that suits your skills and qualifications. Although, TUBITAK 1001 you have to be Phd holder to be considered, so your supervisor can apply and then take any student to work on the project and you get paid monthly. |
TadeDetule: TadeDetule:Yes, the universities in Turkey even enjoy more funding because Turkey is the mainland why Cyprus Island. All reputable papers published from universities in Turkey can get paid. Reputable means: Your research article must be indexed in either SCI, SSCI, SCi-expanded and must be on WOS (web of science). What they paper per journal depends on the quality and how they qualify journal. The highest pay this year is 15,000TL (950 k Naira) per paper and the lowest is 500 TL. Also, Turkey gives project funding to Universities in Turkey and Cyprus. In 2015, I got this project funding which I designed magnetic resins to recover valuable from Mediterranean sea....Now they give around 720,000TL (roughly 45 million naira) yearly for up to 3 years. Are you studying in Turkey? if yes apply via Tubitak! Best wishes! |
Shams08:Yes you can publish your research work. Follow the details provided in that phd thread. Take note; Only publications in reputable journals indexed in SCI,SSCI and WOS are recognized by Turkey and NEU. |
Shams08:That’s nice, I wish you the very best in your PhD.. anytime you publish an article in a reputable journal in Cyprus kindly hint me to guide you in getting paid by Turkish government. You can find useful and valuable contributions I have provided here for PhD students/candidates on how to publish in reputable journals and how to know fake journals and ways to search for journals https://www.nairaland.com/2044554/thread-phd-students/59 Best wishes |
Shams08:You will need to contact NEU for application procedure for research or teaching assistant position....as I know it’s usually for those that are already admitted and studying at NEU. Are you in NEU or Cyprus already? Have you done any research and written the manuscript? |
Anazp:Get the high school result sign and stamped, support it with your WEAC confirmation. Get a new acceptance letter and apply early for visa. |
Shams08:No GAU does not pay you when you publish an article although they have a research assistant position. NEU pay if you publish but am uncertain if they pay students but they pay academic staff and also have research assistant position. However, Turkish government pay anybody irrespective of the university in Cyprus per publication and they even pay up to 15,000 TL (~950k naira) per paper....If you are in Cyprus studying and have research paper I can show you how to get this money. |
Anazp:Your problem started with your Ok-to-board it’s not real (your result and details were not on the airline system, then they suspected you are not genuine that’s why they queried your documents and you) Get a new acceptance letter for January early, apply for visa early. Go to your high school get your high school endorsed result on your high school letter head, signed and stamp. Get a confirmation of result stamped and signed from WEAC. This way you will be fine ..... Best wishes! |
jimzy4u:Wow that’s so nice. There lots of great guys at physics, if you are mathematically sound I will prefer you work with the chair of the Department is my good friend and also chair of my Department. You don’t need to consult any of them to be admitted, in case you will be needing teaching assistantship, you may consult with your cv and signify interest. If you are ready to study at emu, you may send me your complete documents for admission purpose. Total fee for the PhD is around 9500$, you will only need to pay about 2500$ initially. If you are lucky each semester there are slots for research assistant position, if you get the full time you won’t pay fees again and you get salary now it’s around 4500TL (~286k Naira) salary monthly. If you get a part-time teaching assistant you get half salary and pay half fees. Also, at EMU, we get paid by EMU AND Turkish governments for each publication we made. So the more research publication the more you get paid. If you are research-oriented you will recoup all the money you pay, for me when I was doing my PhD I got back all my money. Take note, research assistant position is not automatic, usually slots are opened each semester and it’s competitive, applicants will need to write an exam to be selected and the candidate with the highest score in that exam get selected. But any EMU student or staff will get paid for publication irrespective. Ensure you have the financial muscle at least to pay for 5-7 courses before coming, the cost up there excludes accommodation or living expenses. Also, we can apply for conference funding that are given by EMU to attend conference any part of the world. For academic staffs we don’t have limit for students you can take twice till you graduate and you can Bebe funded upto 1800$ per trip. Another very important is Turkish government funding for project, there is a Project fund call TUBITAK, all universities in Cyprus can benefit and anybody can apply for this. It’s opened twice a year. Your project must be sound and ready to solve challenges Nationally and international-wise. In 2015 (my research designed a magnetic resins that can recover valuable material from the Mediterranean Sea which is useful for agriculture and allied industries) I got this funding under EMU, and you can now be funded up to 720,000 TL (~45 million naira) per year and can apply to be funded for 3 years maximum. I am applying again this year. All details of these are on Turkish government website. Best wishes! |
Theo025:Adsorptive Treatment of Heavy metal-contaminated water using Sawdust (biomass) This sounds interesting. You can follow these steps and may modify them to suit your need. You will need to divide the entire work into 6 stages: Stage 1 1. Sampling: a collection of the water samples at different sources/spots within the research zone/site. 2. Analyzing the heavy metal content of the water samples before treatment (record the concentrations and focus on the most prevalent heavy metal) 3. Storage of the water samples for further use. Stage 2 1. Collection of adsorbent (sawdust) samples 2. Pretreatment of the sawdusts (washing with distilled water, drying and pulverized to uniform particle size) and label each (example S1, S2, S3) 3. EDTA functionalization of the S1, S2, S3 to produce heavy-metal selective adsorbent which can be named S1-EDTA, S2-EDTA and S3-EDTA. Note: You will have 6 samples (Functionalized sawdust and raw pre-treated sawdust) 4. Pulverized all the samples (adsorbents) to a uniform size (note down the size) Stage 3 Characterization: each adsorbent sample must be characterized. These are common characterization you can do: a. Proximate/ultimate analysis b. Boehm analysis c. pH Point zero charge determination/zeta potential determination d. Surface area (BET), pore volume and pore distribution e. FTIR, SEM, TGA Stage 4 Batch Adsorption process: here consider varying the following parameters for each adsorbent a. adsorbate pH b. adsorbent dosage c. Treatment temperature Stage 5 1.Kinetics (varying the treatment time): Consider fitting your data into pseudo-first order, second order, Elovich, intra-particle diffusion etc. 2. Isotherm (Varying adsorbate concentration): Consider fitting your data into Langmuir, Freundlich, Redlich-Peterson, Temkin etc 3. Thermodynamic study (obtained from the temperature change) Stage 6 Desorption, regeneration and recycling of the spent adsorbents Economic and cost-benefit analysis regarding the treatment tech. Comparative performance of your adsorbents and reported adsorbents for heavy metal removal NOTE: Functionalizing with EDTA will be useful to compare the performance of the adsorbent. by comparing the concentration of the heavy metals before treatment to after the treatment. Why EDTA? See below: EDTA is a chemical that binds and chelates metals such as chromium, iron, lead, mercury, copper, aluminium, nickel, zinc, calcium, cobalt, manganese, and magnesium from water......and when they are bound, they can't have any effects and they are removed from the water. If that's my master student above steps are what I will give.....please visit Science directly to find suitable articles to support you. Also, you can email me, I will send you some of my recent top-quality journals of adsorption treatment of heavy metals. Best wishes |
neoeverest:Actually I followed up with the school and my contacts with the Turkish airline this morning. The school sent his details to immigration, however, his OK-to-board is fake or Never confirmed by the airline. Who knows who did OKTB for him (sad). So the airline does not have his documents on their systems either give approval for his onward flight. Also, I was made to understand he has an agent, which I expected such person to follow up on his behalf. GAU tried to help anyway and sent all his details to immigration as I was informed. |
Anazp:Call your university to speak with Turkish airline, give your university your ticket number they can speak with the local airline office in Cyprus to intervene. Nothing I can do because I work at EMU...unless your university intervene. I had sent screenshots of your case to GAU registrar office and was able to speak with one person at theor international office briefly today but insisted you should call them to give full details. You can follow with that No up there. I have a 4 class to teach now... I will check here for updates later! Best wishes |
Anazp:I have called your university (GAU) since 1 hr no response. Do you apply yourself or through an agent pls contact your agent. If directly yourself pls call them non-stop and send emails. Early today I was able to speak to them and she asked for your name and details which I don’t know. Please follow up with them with emails and call try this +90392650-2000 (9 for English). First which airport are you ? Istanbul airport or Sabiha airport and which airline you are flying to Ercan ? |
