Jian Feng, a man reportedly from northern China, sued and divorced his wife after she had a son who was “incredibly ugly” and did not resemble either parent. Initially Feng sued for adultery, but it later came to light that his wife had spent $100,000 on plastic surgery before she met him. “I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first son, we began having marital issues. Our son was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me,” Feng said Feng then sued his wife, who has not been named, for marrying under false pretenses, since he had no knowledge of these surgeries before they wed. The judge reportedly agreed, and awarded Feng $120,000 from his wife. www.ibtimes.com/jian-feng-new-ugly-baby-photo-attributed-chinese-man-who-sued-wife-over-plastic-surgery-deception

3. 1827, Created by Anthony Finley (1790-1840), American Cartographer. “A beautiful example of Finley’s important 1827 map of Africa. This map predates the explosion of African exploration that occurred in the mid-19th century. Much of the interior remains unknown. The Ptolemaic Mountains of the Moon are drawn stretching across the central part of the continent with the suggestions that they are the source of several branches of the Nile. Several speculative courses are drawn for the Niger River, one of which joins it to the Nile, another of which flows south of the Mountains of the Moon into the Congo, and yet another of which, correctly, bends southwards to empty into the Bight of Biafra. Identifies numerous African tribes throughout, including the Pomba, Jaga, Tbook, Tuareg, Tibboos/Iboos, Bambara, and others. Also identifies a land of Cannibals in Mozambique. Title and scale in lower left quadrant. Engraved by Young and Delleker for the 1827 edition of Anthony Finley's General Atlas.” Source: Finley, Anthony, A New General Atlas, Comprising a Complete Set of Maps, representing the Grand Divisions of the Globe, Together with the several Empires, Kingdoms and States in the World; Compiled from the Best Authorities, and corrected by the Most Recent Discoveries , Philadelphia, 1827. 4. 1. 1570: Created by Abraham Ortelius. "The standard map of Africa for the last quarter of the sixteenth century … In 1570, Ortelious published the Theatrum, an atlas of fifty-three maps, the first collection of uniform-sized maps depicting all the countries of the known world—the first real atlas. Each map had text on the back describing the country depicted and listing Ortelius’s sources of information. The atlas was phenomenally successful and revered, printed in many editions in seven languages for more than forty years (1570-1612), with an ever increasing number of maps." Princeton University 2. ….promises brighter future for Nigeria. By Levinus Nwabughiogu President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in Yaunde, Republic of Cameroon said to Nigerians to accept the ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the oil-rich Bakassi penisular to Cameroon in good faith. The president spoke during an interactive session with Nigerians residing in Cameroon. Buhari who left Abuja for Yaunde yesterday to hold talks with President Paul Biya on measures to end insurgency in the countries within the Lake Chad Basin commission said this to some Nigerians resident in Cameroon who had complained that the inhuman treatment by the country’s authorities since the ICJ’s ruling. “Since Nigeria allowed the case to go to court and we lost, we have to abide by it” he said But the president assured them of adequate protection. He also stated that the future of the country was bright even as he expressed optimism in the midst of the economic crisis the country was facing. He said: “Fellow Compatriots, permit me to say, as I have done during my inauguration on 29th May 2015, I am committed towards bringing positive change to Nigeria and I will do everything possible to achieve that. Despite the numerous challenges confronting us, the future of our country is very bright. “You all know very well that your fellow Nigerians are resilient, hardworking and patriotic. These qualities have always seen us through our most difficult national challenges and they will do so now. “However, this government’s job is to see that we unite and work together for the common good of our country. “The recent economic downturn occasioned by the fall in oil prices at the global market, which drastically affects our national revenue, is a serious cause of concern to us.” According to him, his government was taken measures to diversify the economy, even as he pledged total war on corruption. “As a responsible government, we intend to continue to build a stable economy through prudent fiscal policies and providing favorable environment for both domestic and foreign investments. The aim is to guarantee growth and development in all the sectors of our economy, cut waste, ensure fairness and equal opportunities.” “We are determined to end this callousness against our innocent citizens. The defense of the territorial integrity of Nigeria and the protection of lives and properties of Nigerians and all those who live in the country are our top priorities. We shall explore all reasonable options to enable us to bring this rebellion to an end. “We are also working with all our neighbors, Cameroon inclusive and other friendly countries, so that together we can fight and stand firmly against all forms of terror and trans-border crimes. “Whereas, many successes have been recorded in routing the insurgents and limiting their activities, the war is not over yet.” He noted President Buhari however urged the people to be mindful of Boko Haram activities, stressing the understating between Cameroon and Nigeria. “We must also support our gallant security and military personnel as they fight to defend our country. “That is why we maintain these high level contacts with the government here and the reason why I am here. Nigeria and Cameroon share so much in common and the potential exists for even greater cooperation between our two countries. “I am delighted to hear of the peaceful relations that exist between you and your Cameroonian hosts. I am very proud of our Nigerian Diaspora; wherever I go I meet extraordinary Nigerians doing great things and contributing positively to developments of their host countries. “I urge you to continue to project the image of our dear country well, through your hard work and good conduct in order to promote good neighborliness. “I also urge you to continue to respect the laws and customs and policies of your host country. I urge you to continue to live in peace with your brother and sister Cameroonians.” He stated Earlier in his remarks, a Nigerian living in Cameroon, Paul Okocha told the President that Nigerian companies were contributing a lot to the economy of the country. He pleaded the president to help liberalize international trade between both countries by completing a link road. This is even as another resident, Ebere Valentine congratulated the President on his victory at the 2015 Presidential election, expressing hope that Nigeria would occupy its pride of place under Buhari’s government. “Your footprints have manifested in Nigeria and beyond since you became the President of Nigeria”, he said www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/nigeria-has-taken-icj-rulling-on-bakassi-in-good-faith-says-buhari/ |

By Levinus Nwabughiogu, Francis Igata ENUGU—Enugu cleric, Catholic Priest and founder of Enugu Adoration Ministry, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, yesterday, celebrated his 20th priesthood anniversary, describing it as victory over enemies of truth and blackmailers. This came just as President Muhammadu Buhari hailed the patriotic spirit of Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka saying that ”Father Mbaka is a great priest who was not afraid to speak truth to power, even at the cost of his own life or being hated by leaders in power.” It should be re-called that Mbaka’s message of change, which he delivered before the March 28 presidential election, attracted criticisms, especially from the supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Speaking at the Christ the King Parish, Enugu, during his 20th anniversary mass, attended by thousands of worshippers, including the wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi, the cleric said despite all the attacks against him, God continued to protect him because he remained on the side of the truth. He declared: “I am not tired after 20 years, 20 years of good health; 20 years of miracles from God; 20 years of hard apostolic work; 20 years in the hand of God. “There was a time they blackmailed me; they were saying such things like ‘Mbaka why? Mbaka this, Mbaka that’, but I have remained in the hand of God.” He, however, said he had forgiven his attackers, praying God to “forgive all those who have fought us on the course of this ministry and bless those who have stood behind us.” In a special message, entitled, ’20-point agenda,’ Fr. Mbaka said he was praying for President Buhari “that God will protect him so that enemies will not destroy him. I also pray for Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi so that God will not allow occultic men to steal his vision.” In a brief chat with journalists, the spokesman of the ministry, Maximus Ugwuoke said blackmail and unnecessary criticisms had rather strengthened the cleric. According to him: “Those who are saying he should stay out of politics are misguided. It is part of the role of priests. So, they are merely trying to cow him down but I can tell you that Fr. Mbaka is not somebody to be intimidated; the more they do this, the more he is strengthened. “In these past years, you can see how God had vindicated him; you can see his prophetic message before the general elections; at a time, he was repeating that prophecy even in the face of threat to his life. So, today, we are celebrating victory against enemies of truth.” President Buhari in a statement by a Senior aide on Media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, President Buhari said “Father Mbaka is a great priest who was not afraid to speak truth to power, even at the cost of his own life or being hated by leaders in power.” According to the statement, “Mbaka was a remarkable example that religious leaders are the conscience and moral compass of the society.” The statement further stated that the priest “rose to the occasion to add his voice in support of good governance and identify with ordinary Nigerians in the face of despair and uncertain future.” It also explained that adding “one’s voice to make one’s country better has nothing to do with politics”, and that as the “conscience of the nation”, religious leaders cannot afford to be aloof or indifferent to the miseries of the people.” According to the statement, President said “though honest opinions attract hostility from leaders detached from reality”, history would be kind to Father Mbaka for courageously speaking truth to power, even at great risks. President Buhari, who said he is “overwhelmed by Mbaka’s sincerity and patriotism” prayed to God to grant the Priest more good health, long life and wisdom in the service of humanity, adding that he is a fountain of inspiration to all Nigerians. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/ive-been-strengthened-by-blackmailers-rev-fr-mbaka/ |
By Vincent Ujumadu Awka – THE pan Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, said yesterday that it was not surprised at the way the appointments of President Muhammadu Buhari were going, insisting that it had shown the president’s deep rooted hatred for the Igbo nation. Anambra State president of Ohaneze, Dr. Chris Eluemuno, in an interview at the state –owned Anambra Broadcasting Service Television in Awka, said the situation would still have been the same even if the entire Igbo voted for him. He said: “I said it during the campaigns that General Buhari does not like Igbo people and it is happening now with all the appointments he has so far made since he came into office on May 29, 2015 “He appointed five service chiefs and there is no Igbo man, even though Igbo have qualified people to occupy the positions. “His party has completed the selection of principal officers in the national assembly and despite the fact that the speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara made case to apply the federal character in allocating the offices, the president jettisoned it through his intervention and left Igbo APC lawmakers out. “He also exhibited his vindictiveness during his recent visit to the United States of America, USA, when he travelled with only governors from his party, leaving out governors from the opposition parties. “He was also quoted as saying that he would favour those who voted for him and our position is that there is no way the president should expect all Nigerians to vote for him in the last presidential election. That statement contradicted Buhari’s earlier stand that he belonged to everybody and belonged to nobody.” Eluemuno, who is also the chairman of chairmen of Ohaneze in the seven Igbo speaking states, argued that Buhari had no reason to discriminate against the Igbo because Igbonation played prominent roles in the development of Nigeria and should therefore not be discriminated against in the scheme of things. According to him, apart from the Secretary to the Government of Federation, SGF, the remaining appointments are ministers and board members, which constitutionally must go to all the 36 states of the federation, adding that appointing an Igbo minister would not therefore be a favour to them. On the president’s threat to probe only the Jonathan administration, Eluemuno said it would amount to witch hunt if he limited it to the immediate past administration, advising that the probe should start from the PDP civilian administration that began 16 years ago with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who governed for eight years. He also advised the President not to jettison the report of the Constitutional Conference convoked by former President Goodluck Jonathan, arguing that the Constitutional Conference report was key to fighting corruption in Nigeria as it contained recommendations that could help him succeed in his fight against corruption in the country. Eluemunor said the president might also be expecting too much if he thought that he would find angels to make ministers, stressing that as long as those he described as the corrupt civil servants were there, the ministers, no matter their background and integrity would still be corrupt. “He should know that those who corrupt the ministers are the top civil servants. They are the ones that show the ministers the way once they are sworn in. If he wants to fight corruption in the service, he should start by cleaning up the civil service,” he added. He called on the Igbos to brace up to the challenge posed to them by the APC- led federal government. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/buharis-appointments-has-shown-his-hatred-for-igbo-ohaneze/ |

The difference between a girl and a woman has little or nothing to do with age. There are females above 30years who still have a "girl" behavioural attitudes, and there are females below 20years who behave like a "woman" (not like a girl). Below are some differences between a dating/ marrying a girl and dating a woman. 1. A girl wants attention from men. The showing of cleavage and posting of half Unclad or seductive photos on social network are all attributes of a girl. She does all this thrashing things to get attention from men. A woman wants respect , she carries herself in a way that commands respect. Her dressings are so decent and stunning. 2. A GIRL suffers from princess syndrome. She is interested in what can be done for her. She banks on a man to be her financial strategy. She can't eat or take care of herself without a man. A man gives her everything. A woman plans to be financially independence, and if she finally enter into a relationship with a wealthy man, she considers it as a bonus and not the expected life line. 3. A girl cannot be bothered with anything domestic and is proud of the fact that she cannot cook or clean. They often fix long colorful nails, and having the believe that a man who truly love her won't let her do things that will break her 3500naira nails that she spent 3hrs fixing in a saloon . She always have this dream of living in a big mansion with plenty of maids serving her and her family. A woman understands that being domestic is not a duty, but understands that it is one way of taking care of herself and others. She also understands that in the event she wants to create a family, having a person in the household who can contribute domestically is important. 4. A girl tries to change a man. They often have this believe that men are like little kids and it's a duty of a woman to train him to her test. You often see them comparing their man with their ex. A woman never tries to change a man, she accepts him for who he is and will not compare him to her ex. She knows you are the best and that you cannot change another person no matter how hard you try. 5. A girl doesn't want to meet their boyfriend's family or friends, she wants him all to herself. She wants his every attention to be on her and nobody else. Always unhappy whenever any of his family members or friends visits. A woman would want to know your family and friends. She knows without them, you would not be where you are, and who you are today. 6. A girl uses her physical beauty as her currency and basis of value. A girl may be so used to feeling validated through her looks and sexuality, that she uses this as her primary tool to get what she wants in life. A woman, knows her worth is beyond her physicality. A woman bases her value on her intelligence, her strength, her integrity, her values, her contributions, her humanity. 7. A girl Lacks strong values or boundaries. She believes whatever you say about her, good or bad. Girls are often deceived easily by men with sweet words. She depends wholly on what people say about her, rather than what she think about herself. A woman knows exactly who she is no matter what you say, or don’t say. She has taken the time to cultivate her values and understand what she want. She know exactly what you want, even before you make the move for it. 8. A girl never respects her man, except when she needs or gets something from him. She is so stubborn and always want to be in control of her man. A woman respects her man no matter any circumstance. |
