GentleToks:This is what I call a typical hate speech. Nnamdi kanu is still a learner in hate speech to compare with you. The only different is that Nnamdi kanu is brave enough to come out in public and show his face , while you cowardly hide behind a moniker in a faceless social network to rant your hate. Tell us your real name and upload your real pix, that when we will take you serious. Nnamdi kanu did it, and that's he is taken serious. Waiting for you to upload ur real pic and your real name. On April 15, more than 200 girls were taken from their school in Chibok by the extremist group Boko Haram. Nearly 60 girls have managed to escape their captors since then, but the majority of them are still being held. All thanks to the #Bringbackourgirls campaigners whom through their rigorous activities both online and offline ensure that Chibok girls kidnap remains on the limelight of both international and local news. Through this, tremendous pressure was been mount on the then Government of Nigeria under president Goodluck to ensure the rescue of the girls or been seen as ineffective both in Nigeria and in international world. The former president, Goodluck jonathan failure to the rescue the girls was one major reason for his defeat in the last election. Now, that a new Government has taken over, I expected the BBOG campaigners to show no mercy. To present a bold and mean first impression, to disclose the level of their seriousness in achieving their goal, which is the Chibok girls rescue. But , the revise is the case, the hashtag activism that started #BringBackOurGirls has gotten quieter and quieter. Twitter activity has dropped sharply–from 488,000 tweets sent globally in early May to just under 7,000 tweets sent around the world, much of the digital chatter around the girls has faded, journalists has moved on to other stories. The news about the kidnap girls is gradually fading. The pressure on the Government to ensure the return of the girls is gradually fading. Intense international scrutiny is giving way to what seem like silent acceptance of the girls fate. The #bringbackourgirls hashtag is no longer trending, we no longer see street protests and rallies on behalf of the captive girls, most politicians, celebrities and commentators across the globe who took it as a cause had all gone silent. Things shouldn't had gone like this. Gigantic pressure should had been mount on the new Government to ensure he does his every best. It's a well known fact that people often work best when under pressure. It doesn't matter whether the Government is new ; first impression they say matters a lot. If the do not show seriousness now, how then do you expect to be taken serious later on.

Press statement from EFCC The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 arrested a suspected serial fraudster, Dr. Kunle Adeshola, who issued a forged draft to the tune of N3.29billion, in a phony land deal. The suspect, who presented himself as Director, Corporate and Management Service, Amazon Inc., had allegedly entered a contract with Atkan Services Nigeria Limited for the purchase of 50 units of flats in different locations within the FCT, Abuja and subsequently presented a Deutsche Bank, "bank draft" no 081758 in the sum of $19.930, 900.00 purportedly drawn by Deutsche Bank in favour of Infinity Trust Savings and Loans Limited. But the draft was returned unpaid after Stanbic IBTC Plc, discovered it was forged and reported the fraud to the Central Bank of Nigeria. The apex bank consequently reported the matter to the EFCC. It will be recalled that the suspect had earlier been arrested and prosecuted by EFCC for claiming to be an Assistant Commissioner of Police seconded by the Commission to the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC, to cleanse the rot in the agency. Adeshola, who had claimed to be Head of the EFCC Chairman's Monitoring Unit was charged to court on a seven-count bordering on forgery, impersonation, and obtaining by false pretence before Justice Usaini Baba Yusuf of the FCT High Court, Abuja. Justice Yusuf, however, struck out the charges on the grounds that they were not related to financial crimes, a ruling that has since been challenged at the appellate court by the EFCC. EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded. www.lindaikeji..nl/2015/08/photo-efcc-arrests-suspected-serial.html?m=1

Created by Anthony Finley (1790-1840), American
Cartographer. “A beautiful example of Finley’s
important 1827 map of Africa. This map predates
the explosion of African exploration that occurred in
the mid-19th century. Much of the interior remains
unknown. The Ptolemaic Mountains of the Moon are
drawn stretching across the central part of the
continent with the suggestions that they are the
source of several branches of the Nile. Several
speculative courses are drawn for the Niger River,
one of which joins it to the Nile, another of which
flows south of the Mountains of the Moon into the
Congo, and yet another of which, correctly, bends
southwards to empty into the Bight of Biafra.
Identifies numerous African tribes throughout,
including the Pomba, Jaga, Tbook, Tuareg, Tibboos/
Iboos, Bambara, and others. Also identifies a land of
Cannibals in Mozambique. Title and scale in lower

1570: Created by Abraham Ortelius. "The standard map of Africa for the last quarter of the sixteenth century … In 1570, Ortelious published the Theatrum, an atlas of fifty-three maps, the first collection of uniform- sized maps depicting all the countries of the known world—the first real atlas. Each map had text on the back describing the country depicted and listing Ortelius’s sources of information. The atlas was phenomenally successful and revered, printed in many editions in seven languages for more than forty years (1570-1612), with an ever increasing number of maps." www.geographer-at-large..nl/2011/04/rediscovering-african-geographies.html?m=1

1. North Korea For the 12th year in a row, North Korea tops the list of places where Christian persecution is most extreme, according to Open Doors, a group that ranks countries in order of persecution. The organization estimates as many as 70,000 Christians are imprisoned in labor camps. "The God-like worship of the leader, Kim Jong-Un, and his predecessors leaves no room for any other religion, and Christians face unimaginable pressure in every sphere of life," the group says on its website. "Forced to meet only in secret, they dare not share their faith even with their families, for fear of imprisonment in a labor camp. Anyone discovered engaging in secret religious activity may be subject to arrest, disappearance, torture, even public execution." Among those imprisoned is Kenneth Bae, a Korean- American. Pyongyang sentenced him last year to 15 years of hard labor, accusing him of planning to bring down the government through religious activities. He is widely reported to have been conducting Christian missionary work in North Korea. 2. Sudan Since 1999, the U.S. State Department has tracked the world's worst abusers of religious rights. Sudan has been on the list since its inception. The country has arrested and deported Western Christians suspected of spreading their faith, according to a State Department report. Recently, Sudan also arrested and sentenced a woman to die for refusing to renounce her Christian faith. The 27-year old woman was released after weeks of international controversy over her conviction. She was later detained with her husband and two children , accused of traveling with falsified documents and giving false information. 3. Eritrea Just four religious groups are officially allowed to openly practice their faith in this African nation; the rest are subject to detention or worse. So if you're not an Eritrean Orthodox Christian, a Sunni Muslim, a Roman Catholic or an Evangelical Lutheran, life could be tough for you here. Harsh detentions for religious dissenters are the norm, according to the State Department report. Members of various religious groups, including Jehovah's Witnesses, face retaliation for refusing to participate in military portions of mandatory national service, the report reads. The government is said to penalize Jehovah's Witnesses by denying them government services and entitlements. As of November, 52 Jehovah's Witnesses were imprisoned in Eritrea, according to the Jehovah's Witnesses website. It says none has been formally charged or tried. 4.Saudi Arabia The oil-rich monarchy doesn't even pretend to respect religious rights for any faith other than Islam. Sunni Islam is the official religion, and the country's constitution is based on the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed. The public practice of any other religion is prohibited, according to the State Department. Open Doors says most Christians in Saudi Arabia are expatriates from Asia or Africa. Last year, Christian migrant fellowships were raided, and worshipers were detained and deported, the group says. 5. Nigeria Nigeria is split between a majority Muslim north and a mostly Christian south. Boko Haram, an Islamic extremist group, vowed in 2009 to rid the nation's north of all non-Muslim influence, including Christians, according to The Voice of the Martyrs, another group that tracks the persecution of Christians. More than 3,000 people have been killed since then, the organization reports. Boko Haram translates as "Western education is a sin" in the Hausa language. The militant group says its aim is to impose a stricter enforcement of Sharia law across Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation. Boko Haram's attacks have intensified in recent years and have included the kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls. 6. Somalia Pressure is increasing on Christians in this country, according to Open Doors. "Islamic leaders and government officials publicly reinforce that there is no room for Christians, and there is a strong drive to purge Christianity from Somalia. The militant Islamist group, al-Shabaab, targets Christians and local communities," the group says on its site. The terror group is notorious for prohibiting recreational activities and has banned films, dancing and watching soccer in the past. It had also barred foreign aid organizations from southern Somalia, describing them as Western spies and Christian crusaders. 7. Iraq Religious minorities, such as Christians and Yazidis, make up less than 5% of Iraq's population. Since 2003, attacks against these minorities by insurgents and religious extremists have driven more than half of the minorities out of the country, according to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. According to Open Doors, attacks and threats against Christians rose last year as Islamic terrorist groups gained more influence. Militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, are in the midst of an offensive in Iraq. In the northern city of Mosul, the site of one of the first major ISIS victories, witnesses told CNN the group used vehicle-mounted loudspeakers to announce that it had decided to form Islamic Sharia courts in the city. The group also reportedly removed statues of the Christian Virgin Mary, Arab poet Abu Tammam and singer Mulla Othman, witnesses said. Militants' advance threatens Christians in Iraq. www.edition.cnn.com/2014/06/25/world/terrible-countries-for-christians/index.html?hpt=hp_c5 |

By Henry Umoru ABUJA- FORMER Director of Publicity, Peoples Democratic Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode Monday lampooned the Convener of the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, describing his comments that President Muhammadu Buhari owes Igbos nothing as most most insensitive, cruel and Puerile. Responding to comments credited to Junaid, Fani- Kayode in a message to Vanguard noted that his statements that If the igbo feel marginalised they should attempt to break away again, was most uncharitable and careless, warning that if there was any attempt to butcher the Ibos or a repeat of what happened in 1966, it would be resisted by not only the Ibos, but by all Nigerians, with attempt to secede, which according to him, would be successful. According to him, the like of Junaid must learn from history, our mistakes, preach peace and peaceful coexistence, rather that boast and beat our chests for yet another round of war. Fani- Kayode reacting to a statement titled, ” If the igbo feel marginalised they should attempt to break away again”- Dr. Junaid Mohammed, The Punch Newspaper, 17th August 2015, said, “Given the immense suffering that the igbo were subjected to both before, during and after the civil war this is one of most insensitive, cruel and puerile comments that I have heard in recent times. “I daresay that if Junaid Mohammed’s Nigeria ever butchers over 100,000 innocent igbo civilians again, as they did in the north in 1966 just before the civil war, there will indeed be another attempt to secede, but this time it will not only be successful, but they will also take many others with them. “Rather than boast and beat our chests, we must learn from our history and we must never repeat its mistakes.” Dr. Junaid Mohammed, had in an interview in one of the national dailies( not Vanguard) , dismissed the sentiments shared by a former Governor of Anambra State that the Igbo have not been treated fairly in the governance of Nigeria. Junaid who noted that people of the Igbo nation have enjoyed favourable treatment, said it was wrong to reward the Igbo simply on the basis of the Nigerian Civil War, which lasted between 1967 and 1970. Mohammed had said, “If it is about Buhari making the appointments based on merit, I have no problems with it. I don’t believe Buhari or Nigeria owes any Igbo anything. I don’t care what Ezeife says; if they had seceded, there would have been no Nigeria today. As people who acted outside the interest of Nigeria as a country, to expect compensation is a very odd logic. “If the Igbo don’t like it, they can attempt secession again. If they do, they must be prepared to live with the consequences. Nobody owes them anything and nobody is out to compensate them for anything.” www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/if-igbos-are-butchered-again-nigeria-will-break-fani-kayode-warns/ |

Recently, as always the media have create a high level of public awareness on girl child rape/molestation by adult male, this is good. But, I keep wondering, why is nobody talking about the male child rape/molestation by adult female going on everyday ? Maybe, because male child do not suffer physical injuries/pain like female child, but that doesn't mean we should overlook the psychological harms such child is put to go through. Due to high level of awareness promulgated on female child rape/molestation, most parents don't feel comfortable leaving their female child under the care of an adult male who is not a relative, but same parents wouldn't think twice leaving their male child under the care of an adult female who is not a relative. Woman are seen as saints , while men are seen as evil. But the true is that women are only good at comporting themselves in public better than men, and the ugly fact remains that their are many perverts and pedophile among the adult female gender like we have in male gender. What amazes me is that , upon all the male child molestation by adult female going on, no adult female had been prosecuted and sentence in court for such hideous crime. It's either the parents feel reluctant reporting such cases to the police, or that the society doesn't feel it worth making case out of and simply sweep such under the carpet because it involves a male child. It's only in the western world that you hear of adult female standing trial or being sentence to imprisonment for molesting a male child. From my personal research, I can vehemently tell you that 40% of every adult male was once a victim of molestation as a child perpetuated either by an adult female neighbor, teacher or nanny/maid. This molestation is done mostly by forcing the male child to suck/touch their nipples, touching erotically the child's joystick, forcing the child to give her mouth action etc, this is in the sense that such child is practically use as a intimacy gadget. This child often do not tell their parents due to fear, coupled with the fact that they physically sustain no pain like in female child. But the level of psychological problem caused by such molestation is same with the one sustain by a female child. The parents need to start doing more for their male child like they are already doing for their female child. Male child molestation is on the increase due to the fact that it being neglected. No child molester should be speared be it a male or a female. Emphasis should also be put on a male child rape/molestation like it been done in the case of a female child, after all they are all "child" with innocent mind. Below are some sign which may signify that your male child is being molested. 1. Constant reflex touching of the joystick: this often occur whenever you are bathing him or dressing him up. Such moment remind him of the incident of his molestation. 2. Sudden dullness: this is caused by fear. The child suddenly prefer staying alone rather than play with his peers. This often bring about poor grades school. 3. Sexual awareness: you can observe this from some of his words and actions. 4. Unusual likeness of an adult female who is not a relative. 5. Stubbornness 6. Rapid growth As a parents, anytime you observe a caprice in your child, don't hesitate to ask him if anybody is molesting him, and on your own, make him tell you the true; you might be surprise to hear that he had given a mouth action several time to that Aunty next door. |

Nneka123:The brush thing might sound disgusting to you, but if you can stick your tongue deep into your spouse's mouth in the act of kissing, believe me their no reason to fear that you could get infection and bacteria on the brush. The only different is that one (kissing) is done for sexual expression, and the brush thing is not (that's why it seems disgusting to u) |
