Listen no one is saying there is no issue at hand but saying Naira will fall is wrong, if that decision caused us been delisted from JPMorgan emerging market bond. Why now?
It should remain fixed until there is economically viable diversification strategy. stop talking jargons. The naira is in a real problem. The person you quoted was right. We pretend to acknowledge the truth and will always be quick to site other countries in such quargmire. Diversification is what the govt talks about but NEVER Practise it. DOOMS DAY? |

989900: Unless we build refineries in Nigeria to refine the whole damn thing, and start exporting refined products, as it is, selling crude is fast turning into real bad business. you got it wrong boy, even if all the refineries are working, Nigeria will still to import more than 45% of refined oil. We are not seeing the buyers is the main problem not the issue of our production. Is like buhari is more comfortable with importation fuel which looks far more cheaper than making our refineries work.Diversification in agric, mining and creation of small scale jobs for private investor. |

olokfor: The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has reacted to the death of Prince Abubakar Audu.
A statement issued by Olisa Metuh, National publicity secretary of the party said it was 'shocked' by the news.
''The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is shocked by the news of the sudden death of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in last Saturday’s Kogi state governorship election, Prince Abubakar Audu. At this critical moment, the PDP refrains from comments on the conduct of the election. That is not important now. What is important at this point is the sanctity of human life''
''Our deepest thoughts and prayers go to the family of Prince Abubakar Audu and indeed, the APC fold. On this note, the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, charges all PDP members in Kogi and across the nation to keep Prince Audu, his family and loved ones in their prayers, as we mourn with them and the people of Kogi state over this monumental loss'', the PDP statement read.

Yeah thats a good one from yoruba land, going back to the culture but the first indeginous university in Nigeria is UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, nsukka by Zik of Africa. No doubt, yoruba's are great though very poor in commerce, entrepreneur/slow to venture out and science tech. They should work in this three areas. For almost three decades the information in education is not encouraging:low female enrollment, poor waec/jamb performance, low primary school enrollment etc. The culture shock i do have with yorubas is their extreme love for partying for anything. An average person is thinking the next ashebi to wear, the money to spend in cooking, getting a decent hall etc. These leads to huge borrowing and poor investment. Osun oshogbo festival for ifa worshippers, christians and muslims alike, i detest. Swerving and belonging to 2 or three of this religion at thesame time is very unserious-BAT LIFE. Syncritism. They love dancing with quite a humble population. |

illiad: Ihuoma Chiedozie, Enugu Political and opinion leaders in the South-East, including state governors, on Sunday agreed to set up a committee to dialogue with pro-Biafra activists and the Federal Government over the ongoing agitation for Biafra. The decision was taken at a meeting of South- East Elders, which was convened by the state governors, in Enugu. A communique issued after the meeting, which was also attended by members of the National Assembly, some former governors, and other elder statesmen from the zone, said the proposed committee would dialogue with the two major pro-Biafra groups – the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, and the Indigenous People of Biafra. MASSOB and IPOB are championing the ongoing agitation, which had led to massive protests in major cities of the South-East and South-South. The agitation was triggered by the detention of the leader of IPOB and director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

According to a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President and the leaders of Iran, Russia, Qatar, the Netherlands, Venezuela, Oman, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Bolivia and other member-countries of the GECF are expected to review the current market outlook on gas.
Adesina said the leaders would also discuss strategies for boosting gas production during their meeting in Tehran.
He said Nigeria and other GECF members currently account for 42 percent of global gas production, 70 percent of global gas reserves, 40 percent of pipeline transmission of gas and 65 percent of the global trade in Liquefied Natural Gas. The presidential spokesman added that Buhari who was scheduled to hold bilateral talks with other participating Heads of State and Government on the sidelines of the GECF summit, would also meet with Nigerians resident in Iran.
He said, “The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama; the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu and the National Security Adviser, Maj.-Gen.
