look at that quotation yourself and note the main point there... "But you trusted and relied on your own beauty.......". You trusted your own beauty means you were vain about your physical appearance...you flaunted it...you thought you were above everyone else because you were beautiful...you bragged about it...you saw it as your 'achievement' in life...you were proud because of it.
That is completely away from the topic of discuss. It is completely different from a woman who dresses just to look good (as one should).
So, a woman should stop looking decent and beautiful because she doesn't want a man to look at her lustfully? If she wore provocative clothing, that is a different matter altogether.

If you lack understanding, ask The Holy spirit to teach you and help you understand some things instead of following your religious leader blindly. He/she is not God. The roman soldiers cast lots on Christ's cloth which we learnt was seamless. That the korea movie industry is gaining more and more attention from international audience is no longer news....and they deserve the patronage, because if I must say, they have far better, more interesting storylines, better cast and acting, picture quality, etc than nollywood does(my opinion). They have plenty movies and drama series that have gained wide viewership such that their actors and actresses are becoming household names. Amongst all those(tv series), which have you found yourself watching over and over again, have a captivating storyline or a wonderful cast with good chemistry between the main leads.
In my opinion, from the ones I've seen I'd say.........
(1) 3 DAYS - the actor who took on the role of 'president' deserves a top award..seriously. It's just incredible seeing an actor behave like a real-life president and even show real presidents how their carriage should be. Lol. When a man who had promised to protect his Commander-in-Chief with his life finds out his C-in-C might not be so innocent after all, "o to ka ji" (what should he do) as koreans would say. It is a race against the clock to defend the country and protect the president. This drama is better watched than heard.
(2) GHOST PHANTOM
It's interesting when a female turns to become a 'James Bond' instead of a crying, whining character for a change. Lol. When a man takes on the face and identity of a dead detective with the help of a most trusted female detective in order to uncover the identities of moles in the police department, it is indeed worth watching.
(3) THE MASTER'S SUN
It helps that the lead actors have good chemistry and can actually act. This is one drama that you can watch over and over without getting tired of it. Lots of laughter here.
(4) PROTECT THE BOSS
Lots of hilarious moments here too, with a lead cast that fit together to a T. This is one casting where the lead actors should just get married from there.lol. Interesting storyline. Get ready to hold your ribs too.
(5) I HEAR YOUR VOICE
Infact, I don't know where to start with this one. When a 9yr old boy promises a teenager(girl) he was going to protect her for testifying against a murderer who killed his father, and comes back 10 yrs later to fulfill that promise, with a lot of twists. I should place this one at No 1. It deserves it.
(6) EMPRESS KI
I've not seen a drama where virtually ALL the cast are veery impressive. Really wonderful. All acted like I've never seen before, with a great storyline to boot.
OTHERS INCLUDE:
Sejong the Great, the Conqueror, Iron empress, Who Are You?, 7th grade civil servant, Answer me 1997, My Princess, Rooftop prince, kingdom of the winds, when a man loves, jumong, the moon that embraces the sun, a thousand kisses, you from another star, the magistrate, kang chi(gu family book), playful kiss, you are beautiful, dong yi, jewel in the palace, amongst others.
THE WORST:

In case you do not know, the Anglican church in Nigeria separated itself from the actions of the western church and its leaders. They are not ready to accept homosexuality as a normal thing, so do not be quick to condemn before getting your facts.
As for the catholic church being careful, from the way I see it, they (as a congregation) are too docile to voice out their displeasure on the actions of their pope.
God says, "Do not condemn". Yes. But it is not condemnation to realize that a 'leader' in the household of God shouldn't be encouraged to say, "there's nothing wrong with homosexuality". The same homosexuality that God came down himself to destroy a whole nation of people for (sodom and gomorrah) in case we've forgotten. Let us not abuse the fact that God does not punish sin as fast as He did before the coming of Christ. Let us not take GRACE for granted. @OP, WHAT IS BEING STUDIED FOR AND GIVEN IN SCHOOLS NOW IS WHAT I WOULD CALL 'HONORARY DEGREES'.

Going to the higher institution now is just to fulfill all 'righteousness'. Students read just to pass examinations, the aim of going to school is just to get that paper called CERTIFICATE.

No one bothers to do research, students do not know the core matter of their courses by the time they are done with school- that is where you find so-called graduates of optometry causing blindness to their patients, doctors killing people, electrical engineers unable to wire a building, etc..... Every field of study have their casualties.

When you are done with 'school' and find yourself unemployable(a result of the incompetent educational system and your own doing), the only reasonable option would be to learn other skills! And that's where you find yourself in the same category with the people you might have laughed at who weren't opportuned to go to school or saw it as a waste of their valuable time.

The Nigeria of today is not one cut out where students should spend 5 or more years studying what they would never practice , most do not even know what their courses are about, talk less of the practicability.

It would be better to have a formal education of about 1-2 years to sharpen your people skills through interactions with diverse personalities while you practice the vocation you are interested in.
I think the formal educaational system should be adjusted to this effect. That would reduce the high level of unemployment, society would have learned citizens and at the same time years wasted searching for admission for courses you would never practice would be a thing of the past.

Success in the world of today is not by carrying paper around that you cannot defend. To be able to compete favourably, one should be able to read and write, interact intelligently with others(something a few years of formal education should do) and be able to stand on his/her own(make money).

Is our educational system as well as the economy of today able to achieve that? Is it worth it 'wasting' all that time in school and end up parading the streets with CVs no one wants to look at, or be a profesionnal terrorist(since doctors, opticians, nurses, engineers,etc have become human hazards of their professions)?.

That is the award winning question.

It isn't that one should not know other areas of life, far from it. How can one not have a knowledge of his/her health, food, etc.

What the OP pointed out is this: be interested/have a bit of knowledge about events around you- the day-to-day activities that go on in your environment.

Jane Austen was an author, a romance fictional novel (pride and prejudice, sense and sensibility,etc- yea....have read them. Doesn't prevent me from knowing what goes on around me) it has nothing to do with what happened in the country yesterday or is going on today.

@post, I think it's a 'supposed to' thing for a citizen to be aware of what's happening around him/her. Ignorance is no bliss....it's danger. When yo are asked to run, you will not because you do not listen to the news, you don't care to know the recent happenings in your state and the country at large.

How can a person comfortably stay in a cocooned world...you only sleep, wake, eat, go to work, watch movies/music, probably gossip and that's it. Our idea of news these days(for some) is gossip and rumour mongering.

Read the papers, watch the news, engage in intelligent conversations...be interested in your country's politics and governance...if you aren't, who is supposed to do so for you? Who is going to tell the leaders what you want and keep them accountable?

It's little wonder young men and women of today do not have the interest to read long 'epistles'. You keep hearing, ''Oooh...who do you expect to read all that? Pls summarize'', etc.
Young people? If it were the older generation, one would understand. But young people with energy, clear eyes, sharp intellect, to see reading as a chore is unbelievable.

I like politics...could talk about it on and on...the banking sector, the infamous letters, the party games, Nigeria's geographical distribution and history, the war in South Sudan, Egypt uprising and so on.

It's good to know not only your surroundings, but about others too.

Even the Late Nelson Mandela asked the Nigerian official who went to pay him a private visit if the apartheid story and Nigeria's contributions and help to South Africa and other nations weren't taught in Nigerian schools..... I can imagine the reaction of some students if that were to happen. Some would probably ask, ''How is this supposed to help me pass my exams/Can this put food on my table?'', and so on.

Yet, these are the supposed to be 'leaders of tomorrow'. How can you do better than your predecessors if you have zero inkling on the errors of yesteryears? How can you improve on what you do not know?

We need to change our mentality- as men and as women. The change you so cry and condemn others for could be in your hands tomorrow to effect. Would you do better if given the mantle NOW?

No one expects you to know EVERYTHING as some are crying... Just don't float in the clouds like you saw an alien when these and other topics of discuss are raised.

Teach your children to read (long passages too) and not watch TV all day. Maybe then we could start hoping to have an end to some unfortunate questions. You would only kill two birds with a stone in doing that: bring up for society witty minds(not touts, trouser and skirt saggers, local champions, and the like), and also increase the IQ of your children.
