SadiqBabaSani:Being a Minister does not give you an advantage if you suddenly want to get into political level at State level. This is because many Ministers are technocrats and not core/grassroot politicians with solid local followership as others have spent years becoming. Meaning most Ministers will lose outright against opponents well-entrenched in State/local politics if they resign to contest for office in their State of origin. Adelabu, for example, was a good and effective power Minister IMO. His effort to tackle the problem of non cost-reflective tariffs in the power sector is the truth because Nigeria needs private sector investor cash and expertise to deliver our now fully deregulated/privatised power sector. They will stay away if Nigerians are unwilling to pay the true cost of power supply inclusive of decent ROI profit for investors. Much as I was hoping Adelabu can become Governor, I was always sceptical he could secure APC ticket because I don't believe he is prominent in OYo local politics. It is foolhardy for Ministers to believe their visibility to Nigerians somehow gives them an advantage, when they wish to contest political office in their States, against well-entrenched politicians withe gradsroots popularity. As simple as that. All this rubbish of linking the political loss of some Ministers to their involvement in Tinubu's government is prejudiced and lazy thinking. |
OBIDIENTNAIJA:You guys just don't have a clue. This is why many of you fail in life. You are one way traffic. |
mutvy:MODs, you allow this vile message to remain visible? Yet if I mention a certain ethnic group by name you ban me instantly. |
OBIDIENTNAIJA:I am so petrified. I may have to be begging on the Street like an Almajiri. Lol @ Obi providing an enabling environment. You messiah-worshipping guys are just incapable of doing reality. |
franvincoop:There is nothing "audio" about the successful and developmental achieved under Tinubu. Virtually every human being who is informed and knowledgeable globally is a fantastic and praise-singer of PBAT. The reality is that the educated class, globally, are saying the same thing which is that Tinubu has done very well, leading to the West endorsing his effort, but it will take a bit of time for the positive effects of reform, that cannot be avoided, to start moving Nigeria towards becoming a developed nation. That message is lost in transition because we have a huge illiterate and ignorant population who just need the basics to survive. Their most pressing needs are real and urgent so they have no time or energy to dedicate to understanding the severe structural problems of Nigeria no single individual, even if Jesus Christ, can resolve. I get that those in that category are angry but you lot who are educated are the biggest disappointment because majority of previous leaders have used weaponized poverty, through various subsidies, to reduce Nigerians, between 1999 to 2023, to adults who live no better than pets do in developed nation Whereas Tinubu wants far more for Nigerians which cannot be achieved without initially punitive reforms. There is a set pattern, Nigeria cannot avoid, to repair the damage myopic and wicked leaders have caused for decades cumulatively. It is you educated Nigerians who are the big failures because you fool less educated and unexposed Nigerians they should expect more when Nigeria is very broke, possessing and undiversified economy and in very big trouble because of massive failures of all Presidents before Tinubu. Meaning, ideally, we must all have the adult maturity to sacrifice so we rise. Rwanda is an exemplary African nation today for coming back from severe ethnocentric genocide that was brutal and devastating. Why do Nigerians lack the capacity to bounce back as Rwanda did? Because extremely bad luck cobbled together people who will always be the worst enemies of themselves, like the Crab in a bucket syndrome, to ensure no region or people enjoy greatness or considerable success. Nigerians are a people wired to frustrate and impede each other. We don't understand a need to have sincere conversation about all of us going to succeed along regional lines. We keep allowing leaders focused on controlling the 'one Nigeria' Presidency fool us they have the magic touch whereas the bottom line is that Nigeria will never become a developed nation if her fundamentally structure does not change drastically. leaders keep looting in the name of 'one Nigeria", even as they know it is homeless. Yet your great, great grandchildren will still be complaining on Nairaland as you are doing long after me and you are long gone because ordinary Nigerians do not understand what they must agitated for as non-negotiable nation building reforms. |
franvincoop:There is no president who is sincere and devoted to doing what it will take to get Nigeria on the path of becoming a developed nation who won't be "Unpopular". |
Tecno66:Lol. You are now praying for the angel of death to assist you put Obi in Aso Rock ba? Won't happen. Peter Obi will never be the President of Nigeria. Never. |
mindtricks:Lol. Call Tinubu what you want. We know why you lot want him out because there is no technocrat alive today in the whole world, bar those from Sze Nigeria, who is not praising Tinubu for his critical.and pivotal reforms that will set Nigeria on the path of sustainable and accelerated development once they bed in. Thank God the world has has outstanding technocrats globally, and not people of your level of bigotry and uncouthly disrespectful character alone, that have clarity of knowledge to voted Nigeria , for the first time ever, world central bank of the year 2026 under the stewardship of Olayemi Cardoso. You people just don't want good for anything or anyone unless you are in charge and dominant.

NaijaHelper1:Lol. From Abia. Typical. You then expect me to waste my own time putting up "counter argument" to your senseless theories. As if we don't know it is desperate lust for Igbo presidency that is making you create all kind of wild fantasies about Tinubu losing because you believe Obi will be the benefactor of that scenario. Same Obi you all cursed while he was Anambra Governor. |
TokoEkambi:Absolutely. I've advocated a university course be created to study their 'peculiar" nature. |
Elusive001:Lol. Some of you guys are amusing with how you believe others can't work out your rudimentary mischief. Is that not you below conclusively showing prejudice against Tinubu? You now demand I show you examples of solutions Tinubu has delivered? Try your luck with other posters.
|
mindtricks:Lol. I don't even know what the inside of a Plane looks like. Happy now? Some of you are so childishly petty and always react like toddlers when criticised because you are not mature enough to own the negative truth about yourselves. |
Vision101:I have never seen anything like it anywhere in the universe in my life and I am a well-travelled and exposed citizen of the world. I was on this forum when Ijele Speak bravely rose up against IPOB at risk to his life. I saw how virtually every Nairalander from the SE made him an object of hate and enemy to be hounded because of their blind and clannish followership of Kanu and IPOB. Yet Ijele Speak is vindicated today given the damage Kanu and IPOB have done and how badly they have set back the SE. |
Vision101:I have never seen anything like it anywhere in the universe in my life and I am a well-travelled and exposed citizen of the world. |
manmade:Bro, these people are on Waco and David Koresh, head of brand Davidians sect, level of blind and indoctrinated hero-worshipping. Did Obi fail from the Sky and has no history of leadership to judge him on for this people to be ascribing so much messiah likes ability to a below average and failed former Governor Anambra folks were cursing bitterly while he was in office? |
Bsssss:Lol. Why is it those who hero worship the mediocre and proven failure called Peter Obi have certain names also and hail him a messiah who can part the Atlantic ocean? You guys are just ridiculous with the blind and ludicrous worship of your own. Facts, historical reality and history of leadership capacity never ever matter to you guys. |
Kukutente23:More than you who worships failures with no record of leadership competence or dominance? |
MoeGood:Lol. I am not the one who has fled from every fight I have faced in life as is the case with Obi. Good evening to you too. |
Streetinvestor2:Childish as usual. Aisha Yesufu is now your role model and leader? Grow up Nigeria has a President and only unserious adults won't accept that. |
allanphash7:Obi is a petty and small-minded dude. Yes he is a coward also. |
Rudimentary analysis and reasoning. Tinubu has won 2027 and is shopping for a fitting 2031 successor right now. Good luck with the wishful thinking though. Have a nice weekend. |
Ofunaofu:You guys are such unthinking and unreasonable extremists. What if this happened to Obi's poster in Lagos or Oyo? The thread would be 100 pages long while your prominent folks like Ezekwesili and Chimamanda would be playing the ethnic card . Instead of you to condemn this unacceptable nonsense, you are busy pandering to pettiness. We all have the Nigeria we supported to evolve. Always remember that. |
Owoino:Lol. Exactly what I just stated above. |
DomPerignon:Absolutely. Federal might is a considerable issue. OBJ was the most devastating at using it. He was impeaching Governors for fun to get his way. He threw out Obi to install his godson Andy Uba but the Court saved Obi. Wike is Tinubu's boy and the poster you responded to is simply showing naive lack of knowledge about Nigeria's political structure insinuating a Governor can bounce Wike from Rivers State. Which police boss or armed forces personnel, however highly placed, can afford to be more loyal to a Governor than to the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian armed forces? |
Thundafireseun:Precisely. Fubara accepted a poisoned chalice when he chose to be the anointed candidate of Wike only to get in office to then believe he has the capacity to dominate his godfather. |
Elusive001:The APC government of Tinubu is delivering solutions even if you cannot or refuse to see that. I am asking the poster to suggest solutions if he believes Government is incompetent. |
walozanga:The administration is "evil". Why not try to replace them then? |
Princedapace:The ruling class cancel themselves out. Don't you get that simple fact? It's like putting USA and Iran in the same geographical space. They will always frustrate each other because they they are enemies forcefully lumbered together rather than a people who want the same thing for their nation. Try and understand the structure of Nigeria to note there are many things a Southern and well-meaning President, even if he has capacity, cannot achieve because high Northern representation in our legislative arm presents a wall of defence against radical and progressive reforms that can transform Nigeria massively in even 3 years. You guys are not working reality. This is why, almost daily here, I will admit to envying nations like Rwanda, Ghana, Morocco etal who have homogeneity of ideas and developmental vision. Meaning anytime they discover solutions, such can be implemented quickly and progressively. This is not the case with Nigeria that, to me, is the most unlucky in the world with how the Brits managed to lumber together people who are so different to the extent they will never want the same things and will always work to frustrate and thwart each other while deceitfully shouting 'One Nigeria's publicly. We have a nation that is formally secular yet one region has bullied Sharia law in place and destroys alcohol while enjoying huge VAT allocations derived from other regions where alcohol is a huge contributor to the leisure industry there. The structural problems of Nigeria are serious. Yet we are not having honest conversations about them with each other and keep believing one man can do miracles. Many Nigerians just don't see is obvious because they are disinterested in trying to understand the problem thoroughly which will them make them appreciate the complexity of the required solutions. They believe it is a case of just getting this or that individual to be President and Nigeria will become USA or Singapore overnight. You guys will talk of Adeshina and Okonjo-iweala. How will they breach the 'firewall' the North, through superior legislative representation, have built to ensure there interests, which is anathema to what is required for Nigeria to become a developed nation, are not tampered with? |
