helinues:Excellent contextual example. Obi and Obidients, always doing amebo demand for justice outside Igboland, have no interest in justice for the more than 100 young men killed extrajudicially under Peter Obi's rule as Governor of Anambra. Obi and Obidients, because they both lack depth and intelligence, are today the biggest demarketers of Igbo Presidency we know they both want desperately. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1232948551960169&id=100057351074401

ultraviolet27:Well-said. This is why Sowore did worse in his 2023 Presidential bid than his first attempt to unseat Buhari in 2019. Nigerians saw through him to note how unsuitable for political leadership he is. This is a man who used to live in America with his entire family. He came to Nigeria demaning the Presidency yet lacks the humility to understand Nigeria is not the USA. He could not understand he needed to start seeing our nation with Nigerian eyes and not American vision. If this is not the case, then Sowore would not be ignorantly and rashly jumping on this case to try and make a on-existent point when the sentence handed out to the offended was perfectly legal and in line with the criminal code of Nigeria. Sowore did what he did because he has no respect for Nigeria and what was on ground before his Presidential ambition. He believes, like most brainwashed diasporans, that everything is done wrongly in Nigeria and his American mindset must be a benchmark for how Nigeria should be ruled. When someone is not even intelligent enough to understand that the reality and dynanics on ground in Nigeria is very different to that of the USA then that explains why Nigerian , who now view him as unserious, no longer have time for him. Meaning he may even get less than 100 votes in the next presidential election he contests. |
Kamor010255:Lol. I wonder. So many Nigerians going around arrogantly judging and condemning others whereas they are ignorant and functional illiterates who know nothing. |
chidiokay:Keep fooling yourself. It is not about Tinubu anymore. What is shown below was done in 2021 under Buhari and by 5 of his own APC Governors with only Makinde beloning to the opposition PDP. I can confidently tell you that SW, even as I cannot speak for other regions, will not be returning to 'one Nigeria' Egypt even if Tinubu is completely out of politics and living in Trinidad and Tobaggo. You people always thinking limitedly in APC and PDP don't understand evolution and change (the only thing constant in life) and that is down to the fact you are simple minded. SW leaders that demanded what they wanted below in 2021, a direct protest against what Buhari and the North believe in, will now return to 'one Nigeria' docility after Tinubu's Presidency, even if for one term only, has shown the many socio-economic advantages decentralization of power brings for the advancement of a people and region? You forget Lagos and Rivers took the Buhari-led FG to Court over fairness in VAT sharing? Things are changing. Very fast for that matter. That is why the born-to-rule class in the North are desperate to regain power directly (Atiku) or through a Southern Stooge like Obi or another Emefiele-type. Nothing the future brings, whether such involves Tinubu or not, will change the outlook, agitation and demands of the SW. No Sir. More fairness and freedom over their own affairs, for States and region, that decentralization of power will assure , is the new norm and evolutionary benchmark for Yorubas they will always be seeking to consolidate upon. Same as how human beings today alway want the newer and better version of Samsung and iPhone and would throw an 80s 'brick phone' in my face if I offered them such to use instead of their iPhone 16 Samsung S25 Ultra.

iwaeda:Lol. We have a dreamer in the house. Ogbeni, better move to Mars or Jupiter because those are the only places where your dream of PDP "come back" can become reality. Never Earth and certainly not Nigeria. |
flokii:God bless you. Those who wish to sell out their children and generations unborn to slavery will not understand that things are changing. I am the poster who always argue here, as your bolded hints at, that evolution will automatically make the change man is not capable of making deliberately abd consciously. The gullibility and naïvete of most Southerners is gradually dissapearing because of how Nigeria is evolving and transitioning. We saw how GEJ had no peace because it was believed he is a southerner who hijacked the presidential turn of the North. We saw how Buhari horrendously led Nigeria, making heran enclave where Fulani did as they pleased with impunity, and such terrible realities lingers in the mind to subconciously shape future thinking and decision-making. That is evolution. Some people need to be made to accept the non-negotiable reality that Nigeria belongs to all of us and not them alone. |
Kukutente23:Are you from Mauritania? You must be to be talking this garbage that makes no sense to Nigerians who know the reality of Nigeria. Including the many sane, fair and upright Fulanis and Northerners who helped Tinubu win because they feel, for the sake of equity and the peaceful unity of Nigeria, the South should have her turn as Buhari had 8 years on behalf of the North. Most here know you are just talking rubbish because you belong to the crew of those who believe it must be anyone, even if that be Satan, but Tinubu in 2027. Atiku was vehemently opposed in PDP, his own Party, by Southerners like George, Makinde, Fayose etal and you are here talking nonsense. Will the North ever accept it if a Southerner is trying to usurp the turn of the North? Same North who have thrown decorum to the wind to now be foaming at the mouth insultingly against PBAT who has only been in power 2 years. That is how addicted to power they are and the reason they are tagged "born-to-rule". Look at all they did to GEJ, including Chibok girls, because they felt he cheated them out of the legitimate turn of the North. Look at their attacks and open threats against Tinubu, two years into power, because he won't kowtow to their wishes. Minus a gentleman's agreement to rotate power that all bar the like of Atiku are obligated to obey, North would seek to rule Nigeria forever which is what played out in the days of power grabbing via military coups when Buhari, Abacha etal always led Nigeria and never a Southerner. In power, they are historically proven to be gradualist, backwardly conservative, regressive and socialist (to the extent of abhorrent communism) always so how will them being in power constantly be fair to the South full of people with totally different values and aspirations to Northerners? What is optimally fair is 8 years for North and 8 years foe South. Not perpetual Northern rulership Like Wike said, and many of us agree with, "I cannot be second class in my own Country" . He made that statment after After Atiku and his Fulani gang-up robbed Wike and Southerners of the PDP ticket. Even Obi fled PDP rather than face them. That is how deep this issue, your are trying to trivialise with political correctness, runs for people wey oil dey dem head because they know rubbish talk of "letting merit rule Nigeria" is ceding all Nigerians to subjugation under Northern rulership forever as they are a region who live to be in power and even plan for it to the extent kids are used to vote over there. When regional autonomy is upon us, please pack your bags and move to the North or go back to Cameroon, Mali, Chad or wherever you are from because you clearly cannot see the unspoken reality of Nigeria all others can. |
Akinboboz:Obvious some of you are totally incapable of saying the truth once someone you hate and always wish to heap blame on is involved in a situation I.e Wike Tinubu etal. A titan of PDP, I.e Bode George, has spoken publicly about the issue tearing the Party apart and you are here blaming Wike. Who do you think will see you as an objective and truthful person? George and others warned everyone openly of the main problem of PDP yet Atiku and his Fulani born-to-rule affiliates are still determined to have their way and you are shouting Wike that PDP treated badly and humiliated. Maybe you should tell us why Obi fled PDP if not that he knew he stood no chance against the Fulani overlord of the Party. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaoYxsfiY28?si=BIeU7e7poi4mDP9Z https://www.google.com/amp/s/thenationonlineng.net/pdp-will-collapse-if-atiku-secures-2027-ticket-bode-george/amp/

Loctician:Precisely. The punishment is legal under Nigerian law. Also, judges usually give options unless in situation where the law explicitely rules such out. Likely the young man was given the option of flogging, fine or imprisonment and he chose the first option. I would too. What the fck. I am not going to prison or parting with money lol. |
Gbadebo19:Precisely. Knowing whether caning is legal as a punishment, under Nigerian law, is what any objective Nigerians should ascertain first before commenting. Sure it appears brutal and a throwback punishment. Yet if it is legal for now , then the judge did no wrong. Those against it should fight for caning to be repealed same as many, worldwide, fought for abolition of execution as a form of punishment for certain criminal offences. |
Nigerians, na beg I beg una, let us start using the brain God gave us for more than scrolling tik tok etc all day. A critical thinking population is one that will devise solutions for itself. Even as the propagandist Sowore is obsessed with provoking revulsion in the masses against constituted authority, the first thing a measures and critical thinking Nigerian must do, regardless of personal feelings over this sentence, is to find out if flogging is allowed by law in Nigeria. That is what I did and below is the result of my quick 2 seconds research. Case closed.

gidgiddy:Lol. Tinubu is on course, given the immense challenges and rot he met on ground, to be the greatest President Nigeria has had since 1999 even if you lack the intellect to discern that. Reforms and policy initiatives like fuel subsidy removal and floating of tbe Naira will shortly move Nigeria into the strata of fast-growing economies onwards to becoming a developed nation. Yes Nigerians are currently experiencing unavoidable teething pain but those who know the severity of the problem, to appreciate how fundamentally disruptive the best and most transformational solutions must be, will understand why Tinubu is the best leader for Nigeria today. He will even be viewed as far greater in future when we will all be seeing and feeling the benefits of reforms, he bravely initiated and stuck wiwiththat less-informed enemies of progress like you oppose vehemently. This is why, for yoir own own good, I am advising you to read more and improve your knowledge. |
OredoPikin:Of course I know what a Megacity is but, evidently, you don't. See the definition of a megacity below to note it is large cities of the world with population of ten million or more. I think the word "Mega" confused you like Mega Mall or Mega Chicken, to think a Mega City is a fantastic and superbly exemplary City. No. It is a hugely populous city with all the challenges such heavy population present from the management of crime, waste disposal, transpot challenges to burden on infrastructure, housing etal. When I mention Lagos being a Megacity, because I know what a Megacity is to begin with, I mean a hugely populous city with the severe challenges all Megacities face globally. Therefore when the Princeton case study talked of Tinubu's transformation of the Lagos Megacity, it was from the perspective that PBAT and Fashola excelled impressively and innovatively at turning around the fortunes of one of the most challenging Cities of the world I.e a Megacity in cash-strapped Nigeria and the socio-economically challenged African continent. Yet what did Obi achieve in Anambra with population of 4.7 million people in 2012 when the Agulu charlatan was Governor? Please, we are in an information age featuring google, AI etal. Those tools of knowledge acquisition are your friends to use so you stop embarrassing yourself.

gidgiddy:I can see it is either you skim through posts or you have serious comprehension issues. If you read and understood perfectly well, is it not clear the bolded in your post above was adequately adressed by the bolded in my post that you quoted? I.e the concept of temporary suffering that unavoidable reforms will deliver towards the pursuit of a much brighter future for Nigeria and Nigerians? Gidgiddy I like the fact that, though IPOB, you are mostly calm and not uncouthly insulting as your brethren are. It is because of that I will advise you to return to education and nourish your mind more so you improve intellectual capacity. The SE is full of the dullest thinkers in Nigeria occupying leadership position. If you improve yourself, educationally, to the requisite level then you could minimally and realistically aim for the House of Rep in 6 years. If Kanu, Ekpa, Nworu, Ikonso etal, who are glorified illiterates and thugs, could become leadership voices of the Igbo nation then think what could be for an IPOB capitan, like you, who is calm and polite once you are backed with an erudite and knowledgeable mind? You may even rise to be Governor in 15 years. Whereas Tinubu a proven and spectacular success as former Governor of Lagos, is meant to be dashing every Nigerian a brand new Toyota Camry in a period many global and acclaimed expert agree is for reforms and recovery to reverse decades long delay that left Nigeria on the verge of collapse by the time Buhari was outgoing? |
gidgiddy:What did Obi's eight years bring to Anambra other than a beer factory and expensive investment worth zero today? Whereas Tinubu a proven and spectacular success as former Governor of Lagos, is meant to be dashing every Nigerian a brand new Toyota Camry in a period many global and acclaimed expert agree is for reforms and recovery to reverse decades long delay that left Nigeria on the verge of collapse by the time Buhari was outgoing? Get your mind away from upper Iweka gazette trash you read daily to note from the financial times plus Sky news and CNN etal, the accolades acclaimed economists are pouring on Tinubu, because of his bold reforms, and their endorsement of the very bring future and growth prospect of Nigeria because of the performance of Tinubu as President. How you people can go online arguing, with a straight face, you are more intelligent than others is the biggest mystery of humanity in my opinion. Whereas you are more ignorant than people of lost tribes undiscovered till today and without education, technology or any form of engagement with the world. Please wake me up when Princeton, or similar fine homes of global education, are conducting research studies or dissertation on anything Peter Obi has ever done let alone be hailed a leader who supervised the civic transformation of small Anambra talk less of the titanic Lagos. All you people have in your Arsenal is emotion-laden and endless hatred of others. Nothing else. Certainly never logical, intellectual and winning arguments.

Amumaigwe:You'd be wasting your own time. I would never list Tinubu's uncountable achievements to any Obidient same as no sensible black man would try to convince a ku klus klan white supremacist that black folks are good people and not all criminals with no "visible achievements". I will leave that senseless back-and-forth to gullible Nigerians who do not know you people well and what you are about. |
Amumaigwe:What is there to "counter"? You people are always using Nairaland, Twitter etal as 'Law Courts' you want Tunubu convixted and sentenced in. Whereas, the reality is that you should take whatever you believe to be incriminating against Tinubu to an actual Court if sure of yourself The reality, regardless of what you deluded people claim, is that Tinubu has never been denied the right to run for any political office. Offices he has used to be the personification of exemplary politcal and administrative efficacy. Whereas your 'known' messiah that washes all his linen in public, to even tell us he owns one watch alone, is a total empty barrel as far as political and administrative leadership goes. You think a sane electorate, concerned only about good leadership, will not know the difference between a proven and packaged failure and a leader who, in every aspect of political leadership, is hailed universally as outstanding? Keep fooling yourself asking redundant question you want ordinary folks, mostly concerned about who can deliver good leadership for them, to answer. |
helinues:Precisely. I made the same point above. These people are so ignorant and out of tune with reality, to rhe extent they cannot see what others do. It is why a London yahoo boy and dropout became the unofficial leader of a people who are amongst Africa's largest ethnic groups, at circa 40 million, to the extent he got them to fly the outlandish idiocy, globally, that Buhari died and was replaced by a Jubrin from Sudan. If not that these people are emotional, bigoted and sentimental beyond redemption they would understand it is pointless, with no electoral profit whatsoever , trying to make Tinubu, who has been visibly Nigeria's most important and transformational leader since 1999, appear some unknown 'Ghost'. Such is the height of idiocy and desperation that can only be seen from a people out of touch with the thinking and mindset of all others because they are in their own deluded world that makes them ignorant of what motivates and mobilises the rest of society. Tinubu no get Papa and e no get mama. Yet I dey drive past Eko Atlantic he created everyday and the whole African and global trading hub will soon be using the LFTZ PBAT concieved while those of us who live on the Island will soon be using the lekki international Airport of Tinubu rather than travelling to Ikeja MMIA. Of course Tinububis a 'ghost'. Meanwhile Obi we know even the colour of his singlet, is politically significant how? Anything Obi built me and you using? Anyone Obi mentored, which is zero, has inpacted on your life or mine as Fashola, Ambode, Sanwo-Olu and thousands others have gone on to make differences in the Nigerian leadership space? So, Tinubu is a ghost to Fashola, Wike, Umahi, Tunji-Ojo etal? These people don't appreciate how senseless they sound. That is why they suck at politics, public administration and leadership of diversely multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious societies. |
OredoPikin:Lol. Your talk exposes you as someone ignorant of the reality of Nigeria and Nigerians. Nigerians relate with the character, achievements and sagacity of their political leaders more than anything else. Unlike how you ignorant folks, using what obtains in Western nation, judge your people, leaders and democracy If you like, claim that Tinubu is not even human and appeared from a giant egg. Nigerians , because of how they are wired, will judge him on his leadership achievements, wins and successes, which are many, quantifiable and visible. They will judge Obi likewise to understand eventually, and beyond the rhetoric, that your Agulu messiah is empty. A failed leader who has built no one and nothing politically. Yet you think shading Tinubu over things that do not bother Nigerians can make them.lose site of people (in the thousands), political structures and leadership edifices he has built? You're a kid who does not know Nigeria and Nigerians. |
nairalanda1:Indeed. Also, as an outstanding Minister delivering for Nigeria as Head of the Ministry of Interior, he is talking practically. He is not demaning money from anyone but decrying the lack of funds preventing him doing his best regarding functions and parastatals under his jurisdiction. Nigerians, if awake to their duty as citizens, need to petition appropriate authorities to demand explanation for the underfunding issue Tunji-Ojo has now revealed. We should be worried as a nation when performer like Tunji-Ojo complain because their proven history of delivering for Nigerians means they are the type of leader to be given what they need so they keep succeeding. |
anonimi:This post is a vivid demonstration of what you are as a human being. Tunji-Ojo is a super Minister and one of those who has put smiles on the faces of ordinary Nigerians as followers have always unisonly demanded from leaders. That you can still show disdain for such a performer confirms you are an irredeemable hater of individuals (Tinubu etal) and those affiliates with them (Tunji Ojo, Umahi, Wike etal) with nil interest in what is best for ordinary Nigerians. There is no way a sane and progressive person, regardless of their dislike of the PBAT Government, will have animosity for those delivering for Nigerians. |
Elibaba1:Open your eyes. PBAT-led FG is paying States 3 to 4 times what they recieved previously in allocation. We now have six regional Commissions the FG allocatrs fund to. The solution is to simply aggregate State police force under the regional Commissions that covers there geographical location. We are heading towards more decentralization of power and regional autonomy so it is the right, logical and prudent thing to do. The FG can support regional Commissions to fund State police by providing them with cash previously used for the Nigerian police force. States too, per their capacity, can pay an agreed monthly amount, into a central pool controlled by respective regional Commissions, towards their State police force. Simple. The only thing constant in life is change. We need to embrace change - especially if existential threats force this change on us. |
chiagozien:Here comes the revisionism again. Let me remind you that Igbo Governors, always reactionary rather than proactive, rushed to copy Amotekun by forming Ebubeagu. Ebubeagu, unlike ESN, was legally ratified to exist and operate. Yet Ebubeagu has been disbanded today for extrajudicial killing, robbery, extortion, kidnapping etc. Whereas Amotekun goes from strenght to strenght as Nigeria's best complementary security force to the NPF. Instead of looking sincerely for answers where legally created Ebubeagu became a bastardized security outfit, delivering insecurity, you are here holding brief for a rogue, lawless and genocidal militia group no sane nation will tolerate let alone endorse to act in her security mix. As I will always say, the problem of the SE is in the Igbo man and not "outsiders" as you guys love to insist. The very different fortunes of Amotekun and Ebubeagu proves this beyond doubt to objective people |
IGBOSON1:You must name the "Nigerians" you are talking about in your post. This is because it cannot be Yorubas that are " too preoccupied with their hatred for the Igbo to realise WE ALL ARE BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY THESE INVADERS!". Yorubas were first to set the precedence of forming Amotekun that is the best complementary forces to the NPF today. The Ebubeagu that Igbo Governors copied Amotekun to rush and create is now disbanded because it became a force for extraducial killings kidnapping, extortion etal. Yorubas are today most vocal about State or regional policing while your leaders flip flop. Tinubu announced heavily armed forest gaurds for every region and Yorubas jubilated online with Igbos meeting the announcement with cynicism and disdain. When our soldiers record success against terrorist and bandits, Yorubas are first to jubilate and celebrate them.while Igbos routinely mock whatever is revealed as lies and "all na audio". When Yoruba leader took the sacrificial actions below, that would see them.out of jobs, what did your Igbo leaders do and where were their voice and input back then when Nigeria was under heavy yoke of insecurity? I can go on all day. Suffice to say the world can see and verify that progressive Yorubas are genuinely concerned about security of lives and property in their region, that leads to socio-economic success, and have no time for Igbos. Perhaps you should learn to accept the truth of how it is your own character of being permanently obsessed with subjugating and dominating others, which is alway resisted worldwide, that makes you believe others hate Igbos. Whereas reality, such as Igbos thriving well in the SW, prove otherwise firmly.
|
fuckingAyaya:Okay. Let's even agree with you about Kanu. What of the political 'Messiah' Peter Obi? Why is he always and consistently silent when terrible developments like this occur in the SE yet he is currently shading Benue Governor for denying him entry to a State and region (Benue and North central) Peter Obi is not from? Why does the saying "charity begins at home" never resonate with Obi, Ezekwesili and many Igbo leaders yet playing amebo across Nigeria is their favourite pastime? If SE leaders are not certified failures, including Obi, then why are they never like Tinubu (created RRS while Governor) and other SW Governors (created Amotekun recently) so that ordinary Igbos would not be worshipping Kanu as if he is a supreme being and shouting his name, as you do here, in times like this? |
APCNig:God bless you. If, as an adult leader of a Nigerian State, you misuse the responsibilities vested in you for the delivery of good governance of those who voted you into office, then it should be you and those who cannot hold you accountable alone who should suffer. Not other Nigerians ready to embrace and do the right things to enjoy optimal security of lives and property along with the socio-economic progress that will deliver. Your post contains fundamental words of wisdom. We are sick and tired of death and insecurity. Time to insist on the immediate delivery of State or regional policing. Governors or leaders who abuse police forces under their control should be held responsible by their people. Enough of a decades-long status quo of good, decent and progressive people and regions, like the SW plus SE and orth central, being held back by those who love terrorism (North) or violent enslavement of their fellow innocent citizens( SE and IPOB) all for the sake of keeping faith with the failures of 'one Nigeria' such as our totally gailed and discredited centralised Police force. Tinubu himself moved away from that failure, as Governor of Lagos, to birth the definitively successful RRS. Good and progressive Nigerians must all insist on getting State or regional policing to use such as we wish and for whatever desired result we crave. |
DarkJeddi:Seems like you did not pay attention to what Ttalk said because you deliberately do not wish to. How many of what you cite require constitutional amendement? It is a case of you people always shunning objectivity in the desperation to give a Dog you hate a bad name to justify it's lynching. Look at fuel subsidy removal below. As I am not unobjective like you, it is easy for me to understand and prove it is a decision the executive arm of Government has the right to make. Can't some of you not try, just so you can be the most winning version of yourself possible , to shun prejudice, sentiments and hatred of others from affecting your reasoning and talk?
|
ProudlyLagos:100% correct. Let us not forget that PBAT, while Governor, had led by example creating RRS , a form of state policing in all but name, that went on to be responsible for the exemplary security of lives and property Lagos gained a glorious reputation for whereas the opposite had been the case before PBAT. Tinubu is the man for the job and he must now be supported by all well-meaning and progressive Nigerians to make the changes required to save Nigeria from "vipers" instructed to make every corner of Nigeria their own because of religious and ethnic supremacist brainwashing messages that makes them believe our nation is "their chosen land" to conquer by any means necessary. We should follow Tinubu and never those dwelling in Dubai, leaving Nigerians on their own when they needed support, or those whose Governship record actually suggest complicity with killings, genocide, organ harvesting for sale racket, etc, etc. https://successfulsocieties.princeton.edu/publications/remaking-neglected-megacity-civic-transformation-lagos-state-1999-2012 Remaking a Neglected Megacity: A Civic Transformation in Lagos State, 1999-2012 |
