Who and who sat down to decide it is the turn of the north in 2015?
You seem to have an echo that spirals you into an alternate reality where you just keep making stuff up in your head
2015 was about the failure of Jonathan administeration and a need for change. No one made regional interests an issue
If anything, it was in 2011 that the north was demanding to have the presidency back after the demise of Yaradua
Extricate your head drum the coven you've pushed into wizard
Ogbeni, grow the eff up. The North does not play with power. It is what, out of all major ethnic groups, define them the most and fundamentally.

GEJ, because of Yar Adua's untimely death, had 5 years of what was believed to be the turn of the North by all political players who knows what it takes to keep peace and a fragile unity. That excludes an emotional man-child like you who does not appreciate grown men thinking.

If you don't appreciate the prevailing reality of 2014 to 2015 , that did not need to be spelled out to savvy Nigerians , then it is obvious, as I always insist is the case, you are a politically unsophisticated, emotional and ignorant adult.

Kemetian:
It was actually in the 70s and 80s that Nigeria was militarily weak, especially following the civil war, which prevented it from challenging the apartheid regime military.

If apartheid was happening today in South Africa, Nigeria would have launched an invasion. They have the fighter jets to overpower South African defences today.

You have no idea how much investment has gone into the military by now. Countless billions of dollars.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that because there is Boko Haram and stuff, the military is weak. They are under orders not to escalate with heavy weaponry, in order to avoid mass civilian casualties. Absent of that, terrorists would be gone in 3 days
.

But for conventional warfare, military versus military, country vs country, Nigeria is 31st in the world, placing it above several European countries including Portugal, Switzerland, Greece etc, and 3rd in Africa.
Precisely. El Rufai once complained frustratedly that Nigerian armed forces, with their sophisticated equipment, can see the terrorists and bandits moving around yet they never receive the order to blow them sky high and end their menace against Nigeria.

He was mocking Buhari for not moving decisively against insurgents. Those are the sort of realities preventing a quick and decisive end of the war against terror and banditry. Not a lack of capacity from our men and women od the armed forces.

Without internal saboteurs plus local sympathy and assistance aiding insurgents, the Nigerian Army can wipe out all terrorists and bandits in 3 months or less.

That is the God's honest truth for those who truly understand the reality and dynamics of the war against terror and banditry.

There you go gaslighting again. You are the ones who have always had a tribal agenda from the beginning. Some of us have always known but the rest are finally wising up to you and are calling you out!

Your biggest error was backing a man with such a woeful track record, a man you all despised when he was governor with 99% votes. Eventually the outsiders that supported your movement start to see that the 99% can’t all be stuuuupppeeeed. So why are they supporting this man……..because of his tribe! Their agenda was never about competence but tribe!

I said it that his need to be in the news will be his undoing because the non Ibos who didn’t have enough time to really get to know the man before the elections will now have ample time to see through him.

I have said it several times in this forum. We are not against an Ibo president but back someone of substance: Soludo, Umahi, Chidoka, you said no. We warned that backing Obi will set you back 30yrs, you said no. Now he can’t win in 2027 he won’t even get the 6m votes he got in 2023 and in 2039, the SS have stolen a March on you.

If you continue with this mindset, you may not see an Ibo president in your lifetime!
The bolded in your post is precisely what I explained in the thread below. Obi's best chance was 2023 because even the most gullible and uninformed hero worshippers of Obi are now confronting the brutal and non-stop daily exposure of his lack of leadership capacity.

It is even Obi's staunch affiliates , like Kenneth Okonkwo, who are telling Nigerians how unfit Obi is foe leadership.

The Agula Gbajue will be Lucky to get 1 million votes in 2027 and he can forget the FCT and states like Lagos he won in 2023.

100% correct. The other sad but important truth, which must be mentioned, is that most Nigerians are mentally lazy and do not like to read or embrace research unless forced to do so.

That was what was responsible, especially in the youth class, for the belief Obi was somehow a 'fresh messiah" different to the "ruinous old boys" of Tinubu, Atiku, Kwankwaso etal.

Whereas Obi has been in public administration and politics from even the days of Abacha.

The truth, for those who can even do 30 minutes of research online, would have shown, in 2020 to 2023, that Obi is in fact worse than most of the "ruinous old boys" because records verify the fact he is undoubtledly the worst Governor of Anambra post 1999 and is one of the worst Nigerian political leader in general with no history of leading anything or anyone to success.

Now the truth is out there. Obi is exposed and naked. The 'woke' Yoruba Obidient of 2023 who have now left the Obideint camp after the election are considerable in number meaning Obi can forget Lagos in 2027.

Ditto North central and SS. Obi is finished and not even a remove threat to PBAT, in my opinion, per 2027.

Some good point but , ultimately, you come to the wrong conclusion in my opinion per what is quoted below from your post.

Essentially, whose triumph helps you out of your misery and squalid existence in Africa.. That is the person you should support. Not the person that pretends to pray like you
As you rightly concluded, we are at the "lowest rung" of human and socio-economic development. Meaning we must spend the immediate future trying to close the gap with others rather than pledge support for any side in conflicts that, impact on international trade and oil sales apart, does not affect us phyisically.

We should learn to shun racial, ethnic, religious, sectional and emotional allegiances to stay completely neutral over conflicts that do not concern us.

Our leaders should simply offer diplomatic platitudes, as I understand they are obligated to speak, but never strong opinions or pledges.

We should follow the examples of Japan and Germany who, after the second world war, withdrew into their shell totally and till today, becoming ultra-neutral and pacifist, to then use admirable self-focus to go on and become two of the wealthiest, most developed and most industrialised nations of the world.

Instead of state pardon it should be state apology and restitution. How can you pardon the innocent? Pardon for what crime exactly? You pardon the guilty not the innocent. So tinubu is banking on emotions for political gain. But zombies with no option will always dance to the gallery sheepishly.
State apologies can only come from after a competent court sitting to retry the case and then declare the Ogoni 9 not guilty of what Abacha junta court convicted them of.

What you are asking Tinubu to do is usurp the power of the judiciary and be judge over a past case.

Even if such a case was openly flawed, only a retrial can declare it so not an announcement from Tinubu, a politicoan, that amount to abuse of power
.

Have you not wondered why Femi Falani, who is one of Nigeria's most distinguished lawyers and legal representative of Ken Saro-Wiwa and others back then, not protested this development or ask of the FG what tou are demanding?

Infact, there is no forgiveness after punishment for a crime upon an innocent person.
Can you listen to yourself? Resurrect Abacha and hang him then. Miscarriage of justice in the past can only be addressed by acts of exoneration and reparation in future by those not connected with the events.

Your talk is oxymoronic because if you punish or harm a man wrongly and then die, you cannot come back to regret or undo your action.

It is those who have outlived you that can do the right thing and make that can applogize to that man through acts of exonerating him.publicly.

Even a bright kid of ten can tell you this is no act of forgiveness. It is admission that wrong was done to to Ogoni nine who were not guilty of a crime. The honour bestowed on them is then the act of reparation on behalf of Nigeria. Simple.

Is the forgiveness from your PBAT or from Nigerian government?

Answer this question, let's know who is miserable, joyless, bitter and depressed here.

If you believe the forgiveness is from your PBAT and not from the Nigerian government that your PBAT represens, you are basically saying that Ken was murdered by your PBAT.

Nigerian government killed Ken. Tinubu has acted on behalf of the government. My comment is about the same government. If not that you are a daft, you would not personalize my comment to your PBAT. Or, are you indirectly saying that your PBAT was the one that killed Ken?
Nigerian Goverment did not kill Saro-Wiwa. An unlected military dictator did.

If you do not understand this basic difference, to insist the Abacha military junta is same as a democratically elected Government, who then do you think you can con pretending you genuinely care about the Ogoni 9?

The reality of your talk, where you wish to insist a coup-installed military head of State and an elected President are "Nigerian governments", show you are another person prejudiced against PBAT snd determined to never see good in anything he does to he extent of deploying deperate lies to demonize him.

Though not perfect, we have been in an elective democracy since 1999. The President is in office to acts on behalf of Nigeria always. Grow up. He has done the right thing in the spirit of reconciliation and atonement.

Mr.President has done what is correct and fitting, as would be done in any nation of the World, over events that happened before his time.

With executive power, he has now moved to show his decency on behalf of all well-meaning Nigerians. Cry forever if you wish.

This explains some of the actions of Obi in politics like his aversion for spending Anambra money on schools, Infrastructure etal, since those will benefit Anambra folks but not put cash in his private pockef, yet he unilaterally and dictatorially used same money to establish a brewery him and his family can profit from forever.

Obi is the most pathetic politician in Nigeria. A coward, liar, hypocrite, ethno-religious bigot and fraud.

This article is concise and the message well passed but I disagree with the message. Obidients and Obi need to be pragmatic. They need to understand and realise what they are up against. This is not 2023 when Buhari wanted a level playing field. Even with his good intentions, the political hawks in APC still managed to "glitch" the system. We're talking here of 2027 where Tinubu will be an incumbent running for a second term, where he has successfully subjugated almost every critical institution and apparatus. If Obi runs solo, the 2023 template will be replayed again. Simplicita.
His best bet now is VP to Atiku. He shouldn't allow anyone to gaslight him. Even Tinubu attempted to be VP to a Buhari. . Anyone telling him to run alone is either just being sentimental or working for the APC.
I keep warning you to think before you rush to speak emotionally and unintelligently. The bolded confirms how steeped in pugnacious ignorance your outlook and arguments are.

How can any sane, objective and critical thinking person, even if they hate PBAT passionately, not see the meritorious logic of Tinubu wanting to be VP to a Northerner, in a period widely agreed to be the turn of the North, to then be best placed to be APC Presidential candidate when it is the legitimate turn of the South?

Even as Tinubu was not VP, did the scenario above not play out to see Jagaban become President by defeating Osinbajo, he helped become VP, to clinch APC ticket?

Now, the question to ask a shallow and simple-minded thinkers like you is to explain to intelligent Nigerians how it makes good sense, or appear good for perception and optics, for Obi to accept being VP to an imperialist and dishonorable Fulani in what is viewed the turn of the South.

We know that no Northern leader, if situation were reversed, I.e a Southern trying to become President in a period believed to be the turn of the North to produce the President, will accept to be VP to a Southerner.

Will not and can never happen because of how imperialist that "owners of Nigeria" North is in outlook.

Why then would any sane, proud and progressive Southerners not uncompromisingly back Southern Presidency in 2027?

You hate Yorubas, Tinubu and the SW so much you cannot even see that this is about what is fundamental and definitive about Nigeria and her direction from this point on.

Oga, 2027 is for a southern Presidency. If upright, demand the North put their might behind Obi so the candidates who can win are Southerners. Simple.

Those of you who sellouts to the regressive North, at a time the South has a chance to define liberating freedom forever for all regions of Nigeria, are the real traitors being guided by hate for Tinubu rather than an objective respect for what is best for Nigeria and our generations unborn.

Your own is just that Tinubu must be removed even if that comes at the expenses of returning our nation to 'one Nigeria' regression under another unprogressive and gradualist Northerner.
Politics › Re: Fayemi: What We Have In Nigeria Is Civilian Rule, Not Full Democracy by WizardOfNG: 7:42am On Jun 14, 2025
npppact:
RE: Fayemi Says Nigeria Has Civilian Rule, Not Full Democracy, But Let’s Talk Facts, Not Selective Memory

I read Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s comments on Nigeria being under “civilian rule, not full democracy” with interest. It’s a powerful quote, but it also demands critical reflection, not just applause. Especially coming from someone who governed Ekiti State twice, chaired the Nigerian Governors' Forum, and held a federal ministerial post under Buhari.

Let’s unpack this with global democratic data, institutional facts, and accountability logic.

What Is Full Democracy?

Let’s Use Global Standards

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) 2024 Democracy Index, Nigeria ranks as a “hybrid regime” , not a full democracy, but also not an authoritarian state. This classification is based on:

• Electoral process & pluralism
• Functioning of government
• Political participation
• Political culture
• Civil liberties

So Fayemi is technically right, but incompletely honest.

Why?

Because many of the gaps in our democracy, weak institutions, low voter turnout, poor state level transparency, are not just a federal problem. They are also state problems.

If Democracy Is Weak, What Did Fayemi Do Differently?

Fayemi had the opportunity to:

• Strengthen local government autonomy in Ekiti. He didn’t.

• Promote open budgeting and transparency, yet Ekiti was not in the top five states on BudgIT’s State of States report.

• Reduce political godfatherism and state level thuggery. Yet under his tenure, internal APC conflicts and vote-buying allegations still flourished.

• He chaired the Nigerian Governors’ Forum ,did he push for governors’ accountability, or did he protect the club?
If democracy means empowering citizens, then what concrete legacy of participatory democracy did he leave in Ekiti?

Democracy Is Not a Spectator Sport, It’s Policy + Courage

Let’s talk about real democracies globally:

• In Taiwan and Chile, former activists became presidents who radically reformed the judiciary, opened up procurement processes, and devolved power.

• In South Africa, post apartheid reforms included Truth Commissions and deep electoral transparency beyond slogans.

• In Estonia, democracy was driven by digital governance, giving citizens power over public spending via online tools.
What stops Nigeria from doing the same is not “civilian rule.” It’s the refusal of leaders including former governors, to build institutions that outlast them.

Tinubu’s Gesture Is More Than Symbolism

Fayemi praised Tinubu for honoring pro democracy activists. That’s fair. But unlike some past leaders, Tinubu has also started reforms that will strengthen democracy , such as:

• Signing the Constitutional Review for State Power over Electricity and Infrastructure

• Working with the National Assembly on Electoral Act strengthening

• Digitalizing government procurement and pension payments

• Allowing states to establish state police under controlled frameworks
No democracy becomes “full” in 26 years. Even the U.S. took 200 years to secure voting rights for minorities. Democracy is a journey ,not a checkbox.

Final Thoughts: Let’s Match Words with Action

Fayemi has earned respect for his activist past. But the real question is:

“What did you do with power when you had it?”

We’re tired of post-office prophets. Nigeria needs active reformers , not retired critics. Democracy is not only measured by what you fought against, but also by what you built when you had the chance.

Let’s move from poetic reflections to data-backed accountability. That’s what full democracy looks like.

@naijapeoplesprosperitypact
Brilliant start to finish. Especially the bolded that illustrates why Nigerians should dismiss the submissions of charlatans and "post-office Prophets".

Nigerians need to think critically and see the big picture which will allow them discern, beyond any doubt, that PBAT is doing well.

Even as more can be done, the fact is that PBAT, for Nigerians with astute grasp of the lessons of history, is certainly no match for all those vehemently critical of him today.

Insincere, opportunist, disgruntled and unobjective critics whose stints in office indicate they were worthless and failed as leaders and therefore unfit to speak in harsh or sanctimonious judgement of a Government charged with rescuing Nigeria that was on the edge of collapse due to many decades of misrule the likes of Fayemi, Atiku, Obi etal contributes to cumulatively.

100% correct. Fayemi reminder me of Osinbajo etal. Leaders who would ordinarily not be leaders but foe Tinubu and then bypassed totally leadership position/office once Tinubu is no longer behind them.

This is the source of their latent bitterness towards PBAT they envy for being a self-made leader and maker of men.

Most people miss so many things in life that study of rudimentary psycology study of human behaviour can reveal.

I remember a poster here who was a passionate supporter of Osinbajo after he chose to run for the APC ticket.

I told him then that not only will Osinbajo lose to Tinubu but Osinbajo would disappear from Nigerian politics from 2023 proving he was never a leader to begin with.

Reason I gave was psychological simple. Real leaders are always leading like PBAT. They build enduring things like political Parties, leadership unique ideologies and , most importantly, other leaders.

Whereas those who are not naturally leaders don't suddenly become real leaders Because others (PBAT) made it very easy to gain leadership position as PBAT did to 100% make Osinbajo VP and Fayemi Governor without either lifting a fingers.

Once the strong hand behind character like Osinbajo, Fayemi etal is gone, those guys fade into obscurity. Proving conclusively that they were never leaders in the first place but men whose intellectual and technocratic prowess made others assume they were.

I was right. Osinbajo has faded today and so has the poster ( probably out of extreme disappointment) insisting Osinbajo was best presidential material Nigeria had.

I can't take weakling like Fayemi seriously when they throw shades at a man who is a million times the leader they will ever be

"BP to SW President"? Mr.Bigot, this is why the SE is a mess today. Folks like you, "men who are not like men" according to Bianca Ojukwu, are 100% to blame.

Everything for you is about emotions, sentiments, hatred of others and petty bigotry.

Once you hate something or someone, you are all ready to endorse the alternative to that thing or person even if your choice is vastly inferior and fundamentally flawed.

Because of hatred for Fulanis and others, you fully embrace Kanu, Ekpa and co to make them unofficial leaders of Igbo land whose voice and command carry more authority than that of elected leaders

Because of hatred of Tinubu and Yorubas, you have made the biggest and worst empty barrel in Igbo land your political messiah out of desperation to gain the President of a people and nation you all hate passionately.

Same Obi who, as Governor, was busy offering public reward for information about bodies in Ezu river in Anambra when the world knows it was impossible for Obi, Governor and chief security officer of Anambra with supreme intel, not to know it was his close affiliates and 'man friday' behind it. I.e James Nwafor the Awkuzu SARS butcher and organ harvester now at large.

Same way a major ethnic group of circa 40 million talked up Kanu, Ekpa and co back then you are similarly obsessed with another individual walking you all off the edge of the cliff as Azikiwe, Kaduna Nzeogwu, Ironsi, Ojukwu, Kanu, Ekpa etal, who you all supported, did in the past.

We will see where your misadventure with the empty, lying, manipulative, devious and vapid Obi leads you all since you all never like supporting genuinely progressive achievers and productively sane character.

Only riff raffs rate Obi. To know a real leader, look at their approval rating amongst other leaders.

Today virtually all leaders from Obi's own SE,plus the SS and of course the SW, are behind PBAT.

It is a resounding endorsement of how leaders, who know what it takes to lead, view Tinubu the real deal.

The day Obi is supported by one real leader, I.e one who is exemplary and has achieved/succeeded beyond doubt, rather than clowns like Okonkwo (the actoren turned politician lol) is the day I will take Obi serious

south west have to collect more from abuja. Tax is what state share not oil revenue
We can generate a lot more, to make whatever the centre disburses look miniscule and negligible, if we look inward.

Free Abuja slush fund in whatever form, that enocurages crack-like drug addictions on stipend the centre is dispensing, is the bane of Nigeria's development as it only encourages mental laziness and disinterest in diversifying our sources of income and socio-economic asset away from crude earnings.

Instead of every region Growing to see the huge potentials their resources , human and material, can unleash for their socio-economic progress, they only become more lazy and unambtious thinking more money can be extracted from the FG centre.

SW can demand what belongs to her but we must not get bogged down in complex issues concerning allocation formule etal when we can be much greater pursuing an agenda of using what we have to get what we want

SW should focus on evolving a "human capital economy" like most European nations, deficient in mineral resources, have achieved.
