LARRYOBRAIN:Sharp guy. Another reason Naira had to be floated instantly, with no easing, is to get the initial battle against the economic saboteurs, who use every angle of opportunism to wrecks Nigeria, out of the way enroute to delivering a single forex rate for the Naira with no profiteering black market counter rate. What was in place before was official bank forex rate and then a countering black market rate that was hideously much higher. Anyone who needed foreign currency legitimately, for buisness or education abroad for example, must go to the black market because the amount they want is never available as foreign currency were always being rationed as if we are at war. Whereas the real reason is that those with access to foreign currency we earn trading crude, I.e politicians and those in the corridor of power, commandeer majority of the inbound foreign currency through their authoritative control of CBN rogues like Emefiele. The subsidy being applied to the Naira meant, for example, Naira is 300 to 1 USD officially. That is bank rate but not many, who legitimately need dollars, will ever get it at the bank rate. That is a deliberate scamming ploy same as refineries were never allowed to work to justify fuel subsidy, the biggest scam against humanity in my opinion, enriching so many undeserving saboteurs previously. Those who control CBN, as part of the scam, make forex scarce by grabbing all the dollars and pounds etal, meant to be available for Banks to disburse to Nigerians, and handing them over to their Forex bureau boys (usually Northerners) who would then sell same 1 usd, in the same period bank rate is 300 Naira to $1, for 800 Naira to $1. A huge 500 Naira profit on each dollar been literally plucked out of thin air and producing several Northern billionaires daily to the detriment of the Nigerian economy and legitimate activities our people require forex for. Evil, condemnable and wicked. Why do people think so many Northern politician and leaders despise Tinubu? Yet who is wicked, hateful or opportunist enough, like Obi, to play games and say floating Naira, which ends this lunacy, should be "organised" or gradual? I make bold to say no other nation had similar to our old black market regime under OBJ, GEJ and Buhari in the world because, like fuel subsidy, it is another evil act of sabotage and opportunism making a few hideously rich while our economy, national growth/progress and ordinary Nigerians suffer horrendously because of paucity of forex meaning they had to patronise the black market and enrich some undeserving Alhaji whether they like it or not. The madness had to stop and had to stop instantly. This is why they fought Tinubu initially pretending they were mad at inflation which we all know floating of Naira will cause initially because import and cost of doing international trade naturally becomes more expensive. Whereas their real issue is the imperialist anger against Tinubu for having the audacity to stop the huge profit denied them through insider forex manipulation they were getting away with under Buhari and co using criminals like Emefiele etal. This is why the Yoruba intelligentsia, exposed and well-read class want regional autonomy uncompromisingly today. They are not saying Yorubas are Saint or 'innocent' but they remain progressive and good-hearted enough to want the many self-destructive practices that is ruining Nigerian, and ensuring she never develops, to stop. A nation sabotaging itself from inside is dead. Hence best option is for all regions to control their Destiny and direction. The only problem is that majority of ordinary Nigerians simply don't know what the progressive, knowledgeable, critical-thinking and well-meaning Nigerians discern clearly that makes them unflinchinfly supportive of PBAT they know is bravely pavng the way to a bright future for everyone and not just scammers and opportunists as has been the case throughout virtually our existence as a nation. May God deliver Nigeria so they truly see what Tinubu is, I.e a brave and resolute President ready to go there for Nigerians and Nigeria to be delivered, and what those who are attacking him, like Obi and Atiku etal, truly are. |
richmond500:I am always shocked at how unintelligent he is. When you think you have heard it all from him, he drops another 'banger'. |
SarkinYarki:Of course it is working. You just don't have the intellect to appreciate the results targeted and achievements gained already. All your time is spent looking for ways to denigrate Tinubu and all his reforms. Floating the Naira simply showed the real value and worth of our currency without subsidy. Same as a woman with a huge tummy can look like figure 8 when wearing a girdle. Of course minus the girdle, na another story. Floating the Naira presents it's true worth , as a repository of monetary value, against other currencies meaning we get to confront the fact we have a currency of poor value because we have a very poor economy. We can/must then committ to working from the ground up to build our economy, through diversifying it away from reliance alone on oil as an example, to improve it which will then consequently and automatically strenghten the Naira organically. The better our economy, the greater the strenght of the Naira which is what we want and need as a nation. It is how the best economies of the world gained strong and optimally convertible currency while we want to fake it as we also faked education subsidising it to be cheap, thus removing the quality component, only for us to be condemned to producing "graduate" civil Engineers who can never handle projects like third mainland or even the link roads commission by Wike and Tinubu today in Abuja. All.this brings us back to the woman wearing the girdle. Is it not best, for her own health, confidence and optimal fitness she gets rid of the girdle and gain a genuinely flat stomach through diet and exercise routine rather than using deception to fake the stomach and figure she truly desired? Sure dieting and exercising will be hard work, as Naira floatation is for Nigeria and Nigerians is also, but the girdle has to go and the sacrifice and hard work to gain a flat stomach must begin. There is no way to remove the girdle gradually same as there is no to float the Naira gradually as the untelligent petty trader masquerading as a leader, I.e Obi, is foolishly suggesting. He really should learn to remain silent. |
@OP. Hope you don't mind, I have helped you with direct click and watch youtube of the one in Facebook link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lgcZIjACAQ?si=-ehrd-gto7dbGVLX |
Musrataman:They will never give an answer. I would know because I have asked same question countless times and never got a sensible answer from any of them. |
TTPAAR:So what if he is? You are still to see the big picture which is that being competent at virtually everything means Omokri will be attractive to any government aan a valuable asset. I can bet 100% that Omokri will join the likes of Umahi, Wike, Tunji-Ojo, Bosun Tijani, Festus Keyamo etal who are stand-out performers of this current Government. |
lordm:So he even praised Otti and now denigrating Wike and insulting those giving the FCT Minister credit? That is his problem anyway as I personally love progress and will always praise it regardless who is responsible. Ironically, I actually praised Otti for his power generation effort that end users testified to. |
chukwutee:Duuhhh. Of course it is crystal to all it is not Wike's money. It is his laudable performance, which all leaders get similarly praised for worldwide, I find commendable. Especially in Nigeria the home of leadership incompetence. Abeg give credit where due. Wike has worked well and raised the standard to the extent FCT residents have now forgetting they had previous FCT Minister before 2023. |
Wike speaking now and even gingering the crowd (probably mocking Obidients and Atikulators 😄) with his usual song "as e dey sweet us e dey pain dem, as e dey pain dem e dey sweet us". He just finished his speech now singing an old highlife tune he customised to announce "If you see my mama, tell am sey I don follow Tinubu go" 🫡🫡😎 PDP lu le pata pata. |
No cap. Watching the inauguration of arterial roads N16, 20 and other roads in Katampe district live on NTA. Wike is working out of his skin. The Chairman of the Chinese Construction company engaged to carry out the projects addressed the audience and informed that projects were delivered four months ahead of schedule !!! Impressive projects, diligence and execution. Nigeria will wear a new, more usable and more brilliant look by force under PBAT, Wike, Umahi etal. Enemies of progress will cry buckets with what I am seeing per infrastructure delivery everywhere. |
Murketeer:Why would anyone who understands fuel price was heavily subsidized previously now expect it to ever be less than 500 Naira per litre after subsidy removal? Even with subsidy removal, price per litre of our PMS is still one of the lowest in the world and significantly cheaper than price paid in other major oil producing nations like Saudi Arabia. Removal of fuel subsidy, as meant to achieve, now sees more money in the hands of governors who are today receiving 3 to 5 times what they got, before subsidy removal, as federal allocation. If you understand the principle of holding seperate tiers of goverment responsible then you will accept that Governors, after the federal government has implemented reforms that releases far more money to States, can now invest in agriculture far more to aid affordabiity, bringing down the price of your precious gatri, and food sufficiency. In a nutshell, Subsidy was removed and Naira floated to reveal the horrible and self-destructive reality of Nigeria that subsidy of fuel, electricity, education , our currency etc was hiding. After reforms and eventually, the expected reaction is for all Nigerian leaders, at all level, and all Nigerians, in all States, to become more productive/competitive. I.e manufacture more and create avenues of industrialisation plus grow our export sector making us more self-sufficient as a nation with perhaps a trade surplus rather than deficit. All which will subsquently combine to make Naira a stronger currency. Also, reforms seeks to create an economically robust economy adequately diversified away from reliance on crude oil sales alone to ensure Nigeria creates a modern, innovation-driven and truly competitive nation ultiising her resources, human and material, optimally to then approach developed nation status. All the above can never be achieved without sacrifice for those that truly understand that previous governments used various subsidies to impoverish, underdevelop, disenfranchise and subdue Nigerians into weaponised poverty so an undesersing set of political jobbers, well-connected scammers and rent seekers can continue to misrule in peace and make billions for themselves indivdually when such sums should be going towards developing Nigerians and Nigeria optimally. It would be complex to explain but I will end saying, even if you don't know it, removal of fuel subsidy and floating of the Naira took out , in one fell swoop, loads of opportunist enemies of Nigeria's progress who, if unstopped, will ensure your great grandchild, in like 60 years time, would still be nowhere closer to having the opportunities open to a child in Europe today. In other words, without crucial reforms that will cause temporary and unavoidable pain, the great granchildren of ordinary Nigerians in 60 years time would not be significantly better off than the child of a Nigerian today if (1) crucial reforms are not delivered and (2) Nigerians do not see far enough to endure with reforms that will transform the future for much greater socio-economic successes for Nigerians and Nigeria. |
jaxxy:Anywhere belle face na. |
Lol. Baba dom dey prepare to japa to the latest ATM party of desperado in town. The one led by Dubai dollars. 😎 |
. |
Max24:Indeed. Northerners are not allowed to criticise their leaders. That is why this man, Atiku and thousand others kept silent as Buhari turned Nigeria into a killing field leading to horrendous division of Nigerians that endures today. Rather, hypocrtically, they even talk today as if Tinubu is the cause of insecurity in their region. Atiku even preferred to live in Dubai throughout the entire time Buhari was President to remain mute like a Monk who had taken a vow of silence !! Yet a day does not pass where he will not attack Tinubu in a personalised manner. This is how Atiku, in a way no elder Statesman should, publicly commented that Akpabio has a history of doing what Natasha, without any proof whatsoever, alleged. Can he ever launch into such an unprovoked and unfair attack against his fellow Fulani? Yet these lot who pretended to be blind and deaf throughout Buhari's Presidency can today pour all manners of insult on Southern "Infidel" leaders from Tinubu to Akpabio etal. Someone commented yesterday that far more terror and bandit leaders had been eliminated under Tinubu in 2 years than the entire 8 years of Buhari. Will you ever see this lot, the biggest socio-economic winners of the defeat of terrorism and banditry, praise Tinubu? These are the reasons I cannot wait for regional governance. As far as I am concerned, we are an impediment to each other because we hate each other. Success will continue to elude a nation with such a composition until we are allowed to go and manage ourselves, with total freedom, at regional level. Imagine being lumbered, as fellow citizens, with people who are not allowed, culturally, to criticise their leaders publicly, however badly they misrule, yet same folks can call other leaders who are not their leaders unprintable names. That is a recpie for disaster as it means anything good Tinubu does, hardliners and fundamentalist like this man will still fail to enunciate to their largely illiterate population or even announce as "anti-North". Regions should get serious with their development commission. It is a good start per the way forward for progressive Nigerians who now understand they have the power to do more at regional level. |
anonimi:Incoherent giberrish as usual. |
Factcheck0001:You too baba. Wetin Tinubu do dem? Same Tinubu they are heaping "hater of Igbo" lies on today is one of the leaders who has elevated and assisted Igbos most in his long political career. They are not called children of hate for nothing. Better them at something, like politics, or prevent them getting what they want, evening if that is trying to dominate and subjugate you in your own land as was Azikiwe's lifelong ambition, and they will hate you for life. Even if you donate your kidney to them to save their life, that will matter zero to them. |
Factcheck0001:Bro, go and watch NTA right now to see Tinubu giving an instructive and beautiful speech at the inauguration of the newly rehabilitated international conference centre and even cracking jokes that intending future users must pay well for the beuatifully renovate confrrence centre.😁 The way Wike was smiling, the bromance with Asiwaju is too much and PDP can completely forget any idea of Wike helping them. This is same Tinubu those hateful soul were singing "hand dey shake, leg dey shake" for and mocking as incoherent and "brain dead" before the 2023 election. So sad, evil and pathetic. They even wishes hum death. I pity them sha because the hater does not realise he is creating a mind that will be a lifelong prison of pain for himself hating others mindlessly and bigotedly. |
anonimi:Mister Doom and gloom himself. Do you even understand the article before you started mouthing off with your usual and predictable doom and gloom messages? Go and see what Lagos is doing with embedded power supply below. By the time the entire Lagos Island, up to Epe, then has 24/7 power supply you'll still be online seeking negative news to satisfy your unquenchable craving for sadism against those you hate like Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu and whoever is Governor by the time Lagos Island has 24/7 power supply and moving on to the mainland. https://www.nairaland.com/8432581/finnish-firm-bags-deal-build |
ALISMILE:Don't mind some ITK who only know to rush and criticise good news or even other forumers perhaps because doom and gloom is what they want to read and hear. Your first post about Lagos existing the national grid is correct and valid. IIt shows you understand the article. Indeed, what is shown below from a thread I started confirms it is only a question of time before Lagos exit the national grid as State can now use 100% of power they generated for their own use since they no longer have to 'share' with the national grid as was the case before full deregulation of the power sector. That is a key concept the worries of AFC does not take account of. I.e fact that full deregulation is meant to ensure less Nigerians are vulnerable to poor power supply because of National grid inadequacy. States are supposed to now take the burden of the national grid as Lagos is leading doing below with captive and embedded power supply. https://www.nairaland.com/8432581/finnish-firm-bags-deal-build |
Brendaniel:The headline is not deceptive. You just don't understand the article and specific concept it is focusing on. In a nutshell AFC (Africa Finance Corporation) is worried power supply may not be more adequate between now and the near future if Nigeria is dependent on central grid power supply perhaps suffering under-investment. Well, any smart Nigerian will know what we are doing in Nigeria supercedes the worry of AFC which appears an afterthought. This is because Nigeria has fully deregulated her power sector to address the precise worry of the AFC. I.e national dependance on an inadequate central power grid that has become near moribund because of decades of under-investment and upscaling improvement. The situation today is that, while the FG will continue to invest in boosting the capacity of our central power grid, States now have the capacity to mirror captive and embedded power supply such as used to power industrial complexes. Read the examples from my thread below to note that Lagos is running with that concept already. If proactive uptake from States is good as Lagos is showing, especially in cost-effective PPP arrangement, then AFC worries is insigificant in the case of Nigeria in my opinion. https://www.nairaland.com/8432581/finnish-firm-bags-deal-build |
Factcheck0001:Lol. If they can claim ludcrously that Buhari died and was replaced by a Jubrin from Sudan then what manner of propaganda will they not utter about their messiah Obi? |
Eriokanmi:You're just ignorant. Get those who watch intelligent and informative news, rather than skits all day, to confirm if I am.lying or whether you are simply ignorant and mentally lazy as Buhari labelled Nigerian youths. |
Eriokanmi:Just admit you are uninformed becaus the talk of you Nairaland critic of the PBAT Government shows most of you are ignorant and don't have a clue per what is going on right under your noses. Watch NTA foe even a few hours and you'll see scores of technocrats from virtually every field, completely unconnected with politics, and from all regions of Nigeria to include the North and SE, copiously praising Tinubu's real achievements and expressing real optimism about the future of Nigeria. Most cited "never before seen" reforms and development. There was an Igbo technocrats on a talk show this morning citing, with figures and statistics, the results being delivered in the affordable houding sector and availability of long term low interest mortgage. To be honest, I pity most of you because the informed and progressive-minded Nigerians will smile immensely under PBAt while most of you will remain bitter, hating and losing on the Sideline. |
Have normal Nairalanders noted one thing on these sort of thread? I.e the fact that those full of bitterness, cynicism, pessimism and sadness over news of terrorists being neutralised are from one particular region of Nigeria? |
ScamDemicEra:Bitterness in a democracy, when no laws have been broken, is for bitter losers. |
gidgiddy:You always talk a lot of rubbish to then trip on your own shoelaces. Hate speech, Adeyinka Grandson was jailed for in the UK , and incitement to terrorism, Ekpa is charged with and will surely be jailed for, are covered by "freedom of expression and protest" ba? Then consider Kanu guilty of the above and much more to include publicly demanding guns to fight Nigeria which is an outright illegality. You see, it is this readiness for always disregarding the strict position of the law, to then cite your own personal and warped interpretation, that is the problem of your and virtually all your people. Keep it up. |
jmoore:Rather, you need to get off whatever you are smoking. The guys argument is logical and factual. I.e It is only the most shameless hypocrite who will complain of lack of democracy under PBAT when same character happily and willingly worked for one of the most vile dictator the world has known in the form of Sanni Abacha. You people have no shame. |
planetbluz:My bad. Apologies. I agree with you that our political system is messed up. This is why I look at the history of leaders and never caught up in the Party they belong to as if that defines them or is the ultimate indicator of whether they will fail or succeed. |
tpain121:Lol. Nigerians who are truthful and sincere will confess, anytime and anyday, that Obi, Atiku etal are not fit to lace Jagaban's shoes. |
Chucks13:Well-said bro. Vastly greater sum of money made available to governors, to run the affairs of their States, is a great thing. It is now left for indigenes of States to demand more accountability and improved standards of living rather than shouting Tinubu up and down. |
