That was not what the Governor said.

He said some undesirable elements causing insecurity in the state, especially those from across the River Niger.

The problem most Nigerians have is they don't understand what it means to operate one nation. You cannot restrict your law-abiding countrymen from moving around their business or determine where they should live or not live, instead as a state Governor, it is your responsibility to ensure security of lives and properties in your state by ensuring criminal elements are arrested, prosecuted, jailed or executed according to law.

You have no right to stop people from other states in your country from coming into your state because you guys are same nationals and there are no borders and immigration law doesn't apply to citizens of a country.

Instead step up your state security to effectively identify the criminals and law breakers and get them arrested or picked up.

No Governor have the right to stop law abiding citizens of Nigeria from other states from coming into his state to live or do business, Nigeria have no such law and if you want such, it is more like seeking for division or disintegration of Nigeria which the people you guys love to profile have been asking for decades, why not grant their request and enforce a strict immigration law in your country that prohibits them from coming into your country as migrants or immigrants?

Honestly Nigeria need a detribalized President that will use one or two Governors to set a ruthless example on this issue of trying to stop law abiding citizens of Nigeria from other states or region or tribe from coming to your state when they are bonafide citizens of Nigeria. Its absurd and it gets more absurd seeing presumed educated and enlightened people say these horrible unconstitutional things in public hearing angry

Even in America where Black Americans are profiled for crime by the Police, US state Governor's don't ever come public to say that they do not want blacks in their state because blacks are more liable to commit crimes, instead their state Police increase security surveillance and checks around black dominated areas, and they also enforce more random stop and check on black people but not coming open to say they do not want blacks in their state knowing that blacks are also US citizens
Please quit with the whataboutism and play on words it is nauseatingly hypocritical given the reality of your folks.

What you don't understand, with your attempt to hide behind 'one Nigeria' is that Nigerians, as regions inevitably get more autonomous and protectionists, won't continue tolerating the migratory criminality of your folks in even the near future.

Begin to look at yourselves sincerely and search for solutions to the unacceptably disruptive behaviour of your folks before it is too late.

Coming online to make patronising and redundant excuses simply exposes you lot as incorrigbly committed to your wrongdoing.

That's all democracy is all about, don't let your actions and inactions erodes others rights and opinions or force yours on 'em. Don't turn Nigeria to a one party nation, leave people with viable options, that's all I am saying. #peace
What am I forcing on anyone? Secondly, how is it up to me and you is Nigeria becomes a one-Party nation?

You guys preach about fairness and "leave people with viable options" yet are you not encroaching on the right of politicians to choose which Party they join or leave just so you and other Nigerians are happy?

The actual politicians nko? Are they not entitled to defect if they wish? They should remain in a Party they are unhappy in or have become disillusioned with to please you?

You see now that you are not truly democratic as you preach others should be? Bruv, in life, always try to put yourself in the shoes of others. Very important.

If you were a politician you'd be fighting for your right to defect if the Party you are in becomes too difficult for you to bear or is not the right platform to use in doing your best for your people.

Eno spoke eloquently and logically about this per why he is defecting. He cited how Tinubu has done well and bravely removed subsidy, as others before him couls not do, to provide more money for Governor to revitalise States etc. He praised the many federal infrastructure projects ongoing and stated specifically that he wants to work closely with such a President for the benefit of Akwa Ibom.

Yet you guys, who are not Governors and do not know their challenges and aspirations, are not happy. You all continue to speak as if an person must remain in an unhappy marriages to please his family and friend.

Crystal clear this is not about "one Party State" or democracy and more about Tinubu not continuing in 2027 for most of you.

It is your message I have a problem with. They say "all is fair in love and war".

We all know what Nigerian political Parties and politicians are so let's not pretend PDP won't do far worse.

Same PDP did all in her power, to include using assasinations, especially under OBJ, to keep Nigeria a near 100% controlled PDP nation.

I am 20000% behind APC and Tinubu because we see what some imperialist Northerners are doing g to try and disgrace a Southerner out of power because he has stopped free slush funds to their elite who think government money is their birthright to use for luxury living while all around them are wretched.

Same wicked and anti-talakawa folks forget the Tinubu led FG is now giving all Northerer States 3 to 5 times what they were previously receiving in allocation thus giving them more power to improve the lives of Northerners.

They won't see and get behind such wonderful development because all they are consumed with is how to regain their birthright, i.e power, from the Southern "usurper".

As long as the strategies are not illegal them Tinubu and APC should do all to retain power. Nigeria does not belong to Atiku, El Rufai and Northerners. Let's go there !!!

Bro, spare us the sanctimious Lecture. When OBJ used gangster do-or-die politics to make the entire SW a PDP zone bar Lagos, Tinubu did not talk.

He bravely strategized and fought, as a proper leader should, to create ACN and wrestle virtually all SW States from the PDP.

If PDP had not sold out to the dollars of the self-serving opportunist and Dubai dweller called Atiku then perhaps they too would have a strong and competent leader today leading the fight to keep PDP strong, well-represented and not losing valuable and influential members like an akpere basket losing water.

As we speak now Atiku is already planning to flee PDP for a new opposition coalition after his toxic ambition has destroyed PDP.

Especially in the eyes of Southern leader who felt he disrespected them bribing his way to gaining the PDP presidential ticket after 8 years of Buhari when, if he had won, Nigeria would face the situation of a Fulani leading her for 16 years. Almost 2 decades.

All actions have consequences but you Nigerians never appreciate this because you are sentimental and prejudiced and operate with biased and logic-deficient thinking always.

Thus the reason Tinubu is jittery and bribing all PDP Governors to decamp because the game is over.

I,for instance, not considering voting in next election cos, it's getting obvious might not count....
Many of you are today talking of "one Party State". Has Atiku and Obi, instead of myopically and selfishly focusing on their own personal ambition alone, led PDP and Labour in ways that would make most remain in the two Parties committedly?

Look at the period OBJ was President and literally determined to choke the life out of the opposition in the SW. Yet Tinubu, as a leader of leaders, worked tirelessly, bravely, comittedly and innovatively to create the APC that ousted the PDP from power in the SW totally by 2011 to 2013 and has kept them out of power till today in the region.

When have you ever seen the opportunist pair of Atiku and Obi to be about the cumulative strenght and electoral efficacy of Parties they have led? Obi left APGA decimated and worse off. He is doing same to Labour today.

Atiku is doing even worse to PDP and has now left the Party a fragmented and broken ship he is about to flee for a new coalition force.

I don't know what manner of men some of you are when you cannot even be fair and upright enough, regardless of personal feelings and affiliation, to note and speak the truth as proper men are supposed to do.

Keep blaming Tinubu for your "one Party State" delusion while ignoring how Atiku and Obi should not even be leaders let alone put in charge of the fortunes of political Parties who wish to topple the ruling Party.

Have you ever seen opposition Parties in sensible African nationss, let alone the West, led by self-serving opportunists like Atiku and Obi?

You are blaming Tinubu when PDP greedy member accepted dollars to sell their ticket to Atiku who lives in Dubai and only shows up election year to demand the Presidency?

Or Obi who left APGA in a mess after swearing the day he leaves the Party is the day he dies?

Just remember many fail in life because they find it convenient blaming others for their own mess and fck ups.

Same as PDP and labour are now in a mess for selling out to Atiku and Obi while your kind blame Tinubu for their inadequacies and incompetence as Party leaders.

And you that's from akwa ibom actually think all this carpet crossing happening here and there is good for our democracy?
I am not from Akwa Ibom but a supporter of what is good for Nigeria and Nigerians. There is a saying attributed wrongly to Harriet Taubman, the famous slavery abolitionist, shown below.

2027 is a fight between those who wish to keep Nigerians enslaved, because they wish to perpetuate the subsidy-driven pauperisation of generations of Nigerians who cannot ever know they are slaves in their own nation in comparison to others, and PBAT who has been brave and uncompromising bullying through essential reforms that must not be put off for even a second longer if Nigeria is to rescued and renewed.

Essential and nationally transformational reforms several Presidents before him avoided ,because they know it will make them electorally unpopular, Tinubu is bravely and uncompromisingly delivering knowing Nigerians may hate him for today yet their children and generations unborn will thank him for his action when they move towards citizens of first world Nations (USA, UK, Japan, Germany, France etal) in terms of standards of living.

Why will the likes of Eno not get behind such a President unlike you who, because you don't know better, ignorantly thinks the life you lived under Buhari and other before him must be preserved as you don't understand it is one of the worst existence know to man in our entire universe.

As your weekend case study, why don't you find out how many nations pay lower than Nigeria's pump price for petrol at the rate we do today while your ilk think we should still be paying 185 Naira per litre that was unsustainably bankrupting Nigeria and literally killing our nation to then condemn us to the sad fate of never joining the League of developed nations?

Ditto same nonsense of fooling ourselves with subsidy on higher education that sees students paying the equivalent of a decent pair of designer shoes for a years University tuition fee that then sees massive under-investment in our education system that delivers very poor quality education which means our 'graduate' civil Engineers cannot even handle building a mile long bridge across a river in Nigeria let alone be in demand to build such in other African nations talk less of the West.

Are you happy we are a nation cut of from the developed world because a pauperised subsidy regime, government after government has sustained as weaponised poverty to keep Nigerians down and themselves in power, has transformed our people, in the North for example, as those with the worst human development index on Earth?

Even Kenyans and Ghanaians will be handling civil engineering project in Nigeria soon the way they are going and the way people like you wish us to continue. When will you people ever stop being petty, myopic and hateful?

Many atimes I keep seeing things like, let's take our country back.

The question is take it back then give it to who?

Who are we giving it to?

Hope it's not the issue of same wine in a different bottle?

Personally left to me, if truly we are sincere about taking our country back, then we should be sincere with ourselves

We should give it to someone who have never been there before, a youth who have the zeal to do something different

Someone who haven't failed us before, to me it's insincerity to tell me to take it back from an APC man n give it to a PDP man!!!

Do a little time travel back to 6 years ago n tell me if APC isn't equal to PDP today?

Ask yourself, how can an over 60 year old man be seen as a youth if we are been sincere with ourselves?

If a 60 year old man is a youth, then what should we call a 45 year old man?

I guess a toddler?

If your plan is to take it back and give it to anyone that have held positions between 99 to 2023 then u are insincere.
Bro, please forget this talk of youth or those who have never held position between 99 to 2023 and other self-deceiving search for untainted messiahs.

They do not exist as Dimeji Bankole, Yaya Bello, Betta Edu and many other youthful leaders have shown.

We have a system that glorifies wealth and makes it a criminal offence to be poor. This culture is handed to even unborn babies from the womb meaning the search for messiah is foolhardy as most Nigerians, regardless of age, are primed to steal by our system of grisham materialisme and ludicrous opulence in the midst of excruciatint poverty.

If we are serious, we will understand even folks in the best nations on Earth would be thieving criminals, per traits of human beings, if the nations they live in does not have strict systems and laws to punish criminal behaviour, theft, embezzlement etc.

If truly serious, it is our system we must change. Jettison the Presidential system that makes Nigeria a free-for-all cake everyone allowed in the cake room is encouraged to partake in eating and even taking enough to last them 100 years.

We should push for regional autonomy where it will be easier for Yorubas, Hausas, Urhobo, Tiv etal to hold their regional Premier, lawmakers etal to account.

Nigeria has too many ethnic groups, with very different outlook, than is possible to unite patriotically towards the mission of creating a great nation.

Better to create a great nation by creating great regions because that will be easier to achieve since people with homogeneity of ideas and belief system will manage themselves, their land and resources better once it is crystal clear regions are on their own and there is no longer access to federal billions to loot.

Sir you owe nobody any apology you have just done the right thing by returning to your real party apc.

You have acted like a man. End of story.

Fubara next.
Indeed. Especially when we view how some arrogant born-to-rule hawks in the North (Atiku, El Rufai, Bala Mohammed, Malami, Tambuwal etal) have made 2027 about a desperation to grab power from a southern President who is not allowing them keep issues "business as usual" to the detriment of Eno and other Southern leaders.

Eno and all progressively well-meaning Southern leaders have been inspired by Tinubu’s leadership that has shown a Southern President is in power who, greater than OBJ and GEJ, can fight for equity for all regions .

The evil coalition hide behind the pretext they wish to turn things around for ordinary Nigerians. That may fool ordinary Nigerians but it will not fool leaders like Eno who know how Nigeria is constituted to understand that the opposition coalition is full of those who got Nigeria where she is today.

Eno has confessed his admiration for Tinubu from when he was a professional worker in Lagos who noted first hand what Jagaban achieved as a Governor.

Now Eno is Governor and seeing Tinubu putting more money and freedom in his hands as Governor, with more to come, does commonsense not tell Nigerians that this Governor's support of Tinubu is genuine and progressive?

Eno, Akpabio etal, say what you will of them, know the opposition coalition is nothing other than a congregation of losers who are enemies of progress of ordinary Nigerians and are very unhappy Tinubu is decentralising power to ensure such is used to benefit the people and not the elite, like Atiku, who have fortunes in many many billions of Naira yet have never used such to benefit ordinary Nigerians.

For every SS Governors, as Okowa complained in the past, the agitation should always be about fairer treatment of the SS that literally feeds Nigeria with income from sales of crude.

Whereas the North always coast undeservedly because they have managed to hijack the political, military and electoral power of Nigeria. How will SS leaders, like Akpabio and Eno etal, not view Tinubu a 'godsent' liberator given the reality of Nigeria?

Look at Akwa Ibom that is one of the highest oil producing States in Nigeria. Tinubu has moved bravely to cancel fuel subsidy and make a lot more money available to Eno and others as State allocation.

While NDDC is still existing, Tinubu approved the creation of South South development commision with it's own independent FG budget allocation.

Why should Eno, if progressive and about what is best forAkwa Ibomites, continue to think PDP when Tinubu has shown he is the President to follow and support?

You guys should look behind partisan politics. Leaders are human beings too and not demons. They also have permanent interest that are good and benevolent for their people even if most Nigerians choose to believe otherwise.

No SS Governor is behind the coalition against Tinubu today if they are to speak truthfully in support of who (Tinubu) and what (PBATs reforms) that has best served their interest and that of their people.

Just that some, like Eno, are openly and bravely coming out to support who and what is best for their State and people beyond ethnic, religious, sectional and political lines.

Go and ask Eno and co about the mathematics of things now hugely in their favour, because of Tinubu, before you demand people keep blind faith with their political Parties.

Look at your "Ohamadike" Kanu and his sidekick Ekpa now shackled with ease and facing lenghty jail terms whereas you people cannonized those hate preachers and "content creators" as invincible beings for years while lampooning Yoruba leaders as mugus because they would not embrace the violent and unlawful agitation you people did willingly.

You expect us not to then mock Kanu, Ekpa etal given what you people did first? Or shall I resurrect threads here where Igbos praised jail break in the SE and sang the praises of Kanu, Ekpa etal while mocking "cowardly" Yorubas you bragged yo will teach how to fight Fulanis as you were doing? Who is laughing now?

Ditto your constant attack against Tinubu and the leaders of others only to be crying Obi is receiving same in retaliation.

Well, one thing I will commend you all for is the fact you don't seem to be like all other human beings who have the capacity to feel shame.
Politics › Re: If Abure Can Frustrate Obi Out Of LP, How Can Obi Secure Relevance In The Coalit by WizardOfNG: 9:25am On Jun 07, 2025
DomPerignon:
Ordinary Abure that Obi brought to usurp the Apapa Lamidi leadership has chased Obi out of LP.

If Obi could not check Abure in LP is it in a coalition composed of treacherous individuals like Amaechi , El Rufai and Atiku that all have ambitions of their own that conflict with that of Giringory that he thinks he can somehow achieve his DOA political ambition?

The only reason the likes of El Rufai is luring both Atiku and Giringory to their coalition is to cage them from contesting after the coalition secures the party nomination for Amaechi and El Rufai as the substantive Presidential and VP ticket.

Giringory is truly stupid.
Nothing typifies how Obi is unfit to rule more than his history of building no political platform, for his own use and that of others, or political mentees loyal to him.

This is why Obi flees from one political Party to another to serially recieve disgrace wherever he ends up.

How many of us have heard of Abure or Apapa till Obi joined labour? It just shows the nature of very lowly political players and jobbers, who are even less influential and far less relevant than local government chairmen, it takes to constrict Obi as a big Anaconda squeezes the life out of a ram or wild boar.

This is same man some then feel, as President, can face the monstrous demons who always lay in wait for every individual that becomes Nigeria's President and can swallow 200 Abure and 200 Apapa together in one go? We dey "laff" in OBJ voice.

Once it is understood that the covert underlying aim of the Obidient movement is to propagate the program of IPOB,then everything becomes clearer.
The Obidient movement is the political arm of the same IPOB organisation.
Any ignorant person who does not understand that IPOB and the Obidient movement are different appendages of the same body are in for a rude awakening.

Good students of Nigeria history know that far back in 1945 Charles Daddy Onyema predicted that the Ibo domination of all facets of Nigeria society was only a matter of time.

The ultimate aim is domination, subjugation, mayhem and balkanisation. Anybody who cannot see this is just blind to reality.
Absolutely spot on. The only thing I would add is that their apparent dedication to balkanisation of Nigeria is fraudulent and deceitful.

It is a gaslighting and duplicitous agitation they roll out regularly when denied control of Nigeria and her resources.

They are covetous usurper and malevolent expansionist by nature. They don't simply wish to move to the land of others to thrive and own business, properties etal.

They wish to take total control of the land of others to include the politics and public administration of places They migrate to in numbers, never to return home.

We know all ethnic groups thrive and own properties in Lagos.

When one, and one alone, constantly brag they have "enslaved" the "Lazy" Yorubas in their land and own 99% of the properties in Lagos, when such is false and likely 10% or less at most, then you know issues are not just about migrating to better oneself for these people

It is about moving, with stealth and deceit, to commandeer land/property asset, wealth and political power in the land of others they host undisguised disdain for to then turn the likes of Lagos etal into official annexes of Igbo land.

If I lie, can anyone deny that history validates my argument with how it is 100% factually proven that Azikiwe and his ilk tried relentless to take over political and administrative control of the SW till Awolowo stopped them to then earn their enormously inordinate hatred, till today, that even a child born into that ethnic group tomorrow will inherit also?

Whereas, when have Yorubas ever attempted imperialist incursions into the land of others in the post colonial era?

You managed to name only one pastor!
In your place where people are born with the spirit of hate, everyone is involved!
No single person is left out and one won't even know where to start counting from!
Is it from Tilumbu himself, Remi, Onanuga, Soyinka, or Sowore that spends sleepless nights over Obi that is not in power, the lecturer in LASU or the ordinary people on the streets??
In your area, education doesn't care the disease of tribalism! Everyone is inflicted with it, irrespective of level of education, social status or position held in government! That's terrible!
Yours have the cůrse of being the most tr!balîst!c region in the entire country, and that's a very big burden to carry.
Abeg go and sit down. You cannot even make factual sense yet you are are here making noise.

Nigerian journalists are useless. Here's a twist.

Akwaza the bandit leader who these Fulani guys work for is a tiv man. He may possibly be related to Terwase Akwaza(Gana), the militia leader who was offered 900m by Fulani leaders to embark on killing sprees in Benue and Taraba state. Gana rejected the offer and insisted it be 1 billion naira or nothing. The deal collapsed.

Interestingly enough, former governor Ortom managed to convince Gana to come out of hiding to be granted amnesty. Gana was killed by Nigerian army soldiers as he was on his way to Makurdi. He was in a government vehicle. Gana was threatening to expose the names of his sponsors.

Upon hearing of his death, his wives and his men returned back into the bush and swore not to be part of any deal with government with one of the wives herself leading attacks against communities in Benue. I think security forces either arrested or killed her during an engagement.

To have another Akwaza leading bandits in the same Katsina Ala local government is troubling. If he is related to Gana then it gives serious cause for concern. It may be that the offer the Fulani gave his late brother which he rejected, may have been accepted. This could be the reason why a tiv man is providing arms to Fulani for killings in Benue state.
Unlikely he is related to Terwase. He appears to be another Mercenary who self-styled himself the successor of Terwase Akwasa. His name is Amaka "Overall" Konyo.

Also, you are intellectualising what is simple with the bolded. You are not accounting for the existence of a gray area controlled by greed that makes even Benue indigene work for the Fulani ethnic militia for monetary gains tied to terrorism, extortion, control of mining of precious metals and minerala, kidnapping, farmers blackmail , violence and gun-running market in North central currently.

Most of these guys are restive, very poor, illiterates and unemployable young men, with literally no future, that death and gun-might is now transforming into millionaires.

That is enough to create all kind of sinister alliance, such as Tiv mercenaries aiding Fulanis to kill their fellow Tivs, that defies logical theories such as the bolded in your post.

Most States of the North central are on a long thing because they have people whose behaviour is difficult understand let alone explain.
