Choiceone1:I don't need Tinubu to care about my life. I handle my business very well . Citizens who earn well and are successful have no need to personally know political leaders. I just want Tinubu to reform Nigeria and guide her to become a developed nation. In that regards, he is best for the job and will continue in office next year. Nothing you and your bitter co-travellers can do about that. |
Choiceone1:Lol. By your power ba? You even have have voters card? |
helinues:Indeed. He is an instigator and fifth columnists. It is his kind who mischievously feed into the ignorance and illiteracy of most Nigerians that then convince many to post here daily that our nation is stupendously rich and that they deserve better and are entitled to similar lifestyle citizens of developed nations enjoy. Totally wrong. We have work to do and the reality is that we are a poor nation, income per capita wise and for many other reasons to include undiversified economy, poor human resources etal, poor SME economic strength, an unhealthily large amount of Nigerians engaged in the informal sector etal. Meaning we should all be looking to be part of the solutions needed to make Nigeria a developed nation in the next 20 years or so instead of hosting unhelpful sense of entitlement about what we deserve when, for example, most Nigerians cannot deliver solutions our nation needs as citizens of other nations can. Ask the OP why it is Lebanese and Chinese contractors running Nigeria infrastructure today, when we claim to produce civil engineers, and he will have no answer. We cannot even build our own critical infrastructure yet OP feels an assumption we are a "rich nation" is enough to secure development or greatness. Many Nigerians love catching cruise online and feeling important whereas few understand what Nigeria needs to do to, that must involve input from every one of us, to become developed |
helinues:Precisely Helinues. They want to define the narrative with lies. Like terrorists do. Touting Nigeria "richest nation on Earth" , as OP lies, is designed to feed a sense of entitlement in ignorant Nigerians that will then makes them believe they should be living better than Canadians, New Zealanders etal instead of focusing on how they must add to the solutions Nigeria needs to become a developed nation. Whereas the main progressive trust, for us as a people, must revolve around making Nigerians understand we are a poor nation that needs to work harder using every single Nigerian as productive parts of the solution mix. |
AMINDA:You are delusional. Do you know what the world, especially the USA, think of Atiku? You believe Tinubu, on the world stage, is Atiku's mate merely because you assume everyone thinks like you in blind worship of Northern leaders who, given what they have made of Northern Nigeria, are globally viewed the weakest link of Nigerian leadership by far? You are praising Kwankwaso here yet USA are naming him an individual of concern over terrorism. You drum up messianic support for Atiku, yet believe the international community do not see him as an indolent and corrupt individual who prefers to reside outside the nation he says he loves and wants to improve. How many US indictment against Atiku for sleaze, money laundering etc? halliburton etal? See link below and cure yourself of ignorance. https://nigeriaindepth.com/alhaji-abubakar-atiku-politics-intrigues-and-corruption-scandal/?print=print You people are simply too petty and bigoted to understand how the future of Nigeria will shape out. |
eejo:Nigeria is not the richest country on Earth. How can anyone take you seriously when you begin your opinion piece with a lie?
|
The problem with Obidients is childishness and lack of capacity to deal/work with reality. Plain and simple. They think talk alone matters in life to skew narratives and carry the day. Obi carried 2face Idibia bags, let us make him President with no election. He served food to ordinary Nigerian. Let us declare him a human saint no one should prevent from being President. He stands in a queue, as most decent and civilised people do every day of their life, we should hand him the keys to Aso Rock. We should ignore very important consideration all great leaders are supposed to have? From Nkrumah to Awolowo and even PBAT? Where are the mentees of Obi? What winning entity (political Parties and institutions etal) has he built when Tinubu and co can boast of many? Where are Obi's definitive and legacy projects that define prime leadership whereas Tinubu has them in droves? Nkrumah, for example, delivered Akosombo Dam that is a mainstay of Ghana electricity solution today. What can Obi point to as a pivotal achievement he attained while Anambra Governor? Whereas Tinubu is the subject of dissertation papers in Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, Princeton University etal for his leadership talent that turned around the fortune of Lagos. Are you Obidients for real? |
Fujiyama:Great Post. Suffice to say no one, certainly not me, is perfect and we can all only speak our truth. I can therefore accept you make many valid rebuttals to my post. View my post in terms of what I believe has worked for me and I wish to encourage others to utilise. I.e a positive attitude and a disposition for seeing the big picture instead of believing anyone owes me anything. Yeah I engage well as businessman today but not always. My initial success came from thinking outside the box. When I arrived in the UK, early teens, I noticed the nation had a huge immigrant class of Nigerians, Ghanaians West indians, Asians etal. Immigrants who were black shunned productive involvement in the most productive aspect of UK life that can transform their generational fortunes. Not Asians. They pragmatically bought properties, became Estate agents and property dealers. Consequently, they carved out huge fortunes buying properties allowing them to own and define areas like Ilford, Eastham, Southall etal in London. They set up businesses and bought assets. Ask anyone and they will tell you Asians control the African food market across London that Nigerians and other Africans should naturally own, since the produce come from out continent, but we don't because we are not pragmatically focused nor organised. We are showing same destructive mental indolence in Nigeria. My personal saving grace was being a Nigerian kid who could think outside the box. I watched what Asians did аnd , as soon as I graduated and got a professional job, bought a property on mortgage. Before age 28 I had acquired 3. They are worth a ridiculous amount in Naira today. Bottom line is that adult men and women should focus better, move more productively and be about personal progress. Those simple rules will see you successful in any society of the world you find yourself in. Including Nigeria "lazy youths" ( Buhari) are always complaining about because of a misguided sense of entitlement when they would be better served understanding we all have capacity to be the change or success we desire. There are Chinese folks across Nigeria, Ghana etal sleeping rough and enduring conditions Nigerian youths lament about non-stop yet they are earning considerably from Nigeria and Africa's wealth and repatriating proceeds to China because they want it more. No freebies in life my bro. Nigerian youths will continue to be stagnant, as hopeless individuals who cannot define their own geographical space successfully, without attitudinal recalibration. |
Putinofrussia:Precisely. Yorubas help other and fight, as the conscience of Nigeria always, for the past 60 years, far more than others without eye service. So many wonderful Nigerians, from different ethnic group, who typify what humanity and love of fellow man is about. Yet these guys must always tout themselves messiahs when no historical fact show they care about other. Same way they want all of us to canonize the fraud Obi and announce him the equivalent od the Pope. Even in their SE, are they accommodating? No. The region is shunned by all Nigerians as a destination of permanent economic migration. OP is a bigot. What he is doing is deliberate. I.e use single anecdotal example to claim "we are messiahs". Lazy approach to life based on trying to convince other you are what reality does not validate you are. Which honest person will tout Igbos most naturally generous and compassionate Nigerians full of goodwill for others? |
@OP. You people and your Messiah complex. Is it that you cannot breathe unless you feel you are better than others? No Edo, Yoruba, Hausa, Urhobo, Fulani person can give her a measly 1 million Naira ba? We must now create a shrine to worship you guys because Igbo man gave her the money? ⁰Are you guys factually the most compassionate and generous Nigerians? You guys need to stop this show of inferiority complex. I can't remember the number of Nigerians, of different ethnicity, I have assisted because I did not help them seeking ethnic recognition and shalaye. You lot should stop this nonsense. If we all start d1ck comparison then who will we conclude, factually, has fought for the underprivileged and oppressed more than Yorubas and other ethnic groups you are not included in? You guys aren't even naturally kind and compassionate like that. When you can show one of your own that is like Femi Falana, Fela, Tai Solarin, Gani Fawehinmi, Obafemi Awolowo, Tinubu etc then I will buy into your desperation to always portray yourselves as messiahs to others. |
StaffofOrayan:Well-said. |
Yampotatocarrot:Appreciate your polite and incisive response. That is how it should be so that we can all learn. I will always agree that Nigerians are disadvantaged in terms of not being the best versions of themselves because of weaponized poverty achieved through so much subsidy in critical sectors that has turned our people into beggars rather than solutions providers. Still, many Nigerians can read, write and conduct research that can enable them provide local solutions for local problems. This is how the developed nations of the world gained their status. Why do we seem incapable of doing that and instead view life to be simplistically about leaders/government spoon-feeding us? This is an issue with black Africans we need to address instead of continuing to portray ourselves as victims. More of us must seek to be part of the solution instead of pushing that responsibility towards others. |
PigTormentor:That dude is a bitter wannabe. Pay him no mind. |
DesireV:They are incapable of rational reasoning. Everything begins and end with fighting everything and everyone to a standstill for those people. |
Spaxon:Question his competence, if you can, not ethnicity. |
Parachoko:I wonder OOO. He is also same wannabe President who was sipping premium fruit juice in Dubai while failing to utter a word against "death of innocent citizens" under his fellow Fulani Buhari yet he has now found his voice against Tinubu he wants to portray as completely responsible for the terrorism, emanating from the North , Atiku and his fellow Fulani never bothered to proffer solutions for. |
RayBandsNL:That talk alone disqualifies him from aspiring to leadership. He wants Nigerians to choose him by proposing "old goons" must be discriminated against and dismissed. Yet, what is the age of many world leaders like Trump, Putin, Modi etal? |
RayBandsNL:Don't mind the guy. He is displaying what I hate the most about Nigerians that is one of the greatest problem of our nation. Hardly will you find a Nigerian that will admit to being wrong and take correction. Instead they will double down and even insult those highlighting their error. An arrogant people lacking the humility to learn from others, to be better solutions-providers, yet they keep insisting they know best like this "parking" dude who wants to be President of Nigeria. |
RayBandsNL:How can you even compare this guy to our current President who employs young achievers like Tunji-Ojo whereas he is seeking electoral support based on discrimination against "old goons". Which solutions-provider thinks or talk like this dude? Aren't leaders supposed to be naturally against discrimination and/or segregation of any kind? When no law excludes "old goons" from leadership, why then campaign based on demonizing the elderly? |
SixSeven:Well-said. The guy does not even know how to reason intelligently yet touts himself the leadership solution for Nigeria that has old and young people , different religions and literally hundreds of ethnic groups. What is the age of leaders of most nations of the world ? Eg USA, China, Indian, Russia etal? Only foolish and unexposed Nigerians, because such is the norm in our nation full of bigot, think age discrimination is cool and the "old goons" should be rounded up to then be dumped in the Atlantic ocean. Most Nigerians don't understand that discrimination of any kind (against age, race or gender for example) is wrong because of our bigoted obsession with identifying a demographic to demonise and blame for the problem of Nigeria. |
TrioVibes:If you say so Oga mi. 😎 |
Misterone:That guy's is always miserable. Never upbeat, happy or optimistic. He is worse than an 80 year old funeral director or undertaker. |
AcadaWriter0:Correct talk. Lived most of my life (from early teens) in the UK. Relocated to Naija a few years ago to establish a few businesses that are now doing well. I am the envy of all my friends in the UK who visits Nigeria regularly and love the near excellent work, leisure and life balance Lagos offers if one is doing well that I enjoy full-time whereas they are miserable because of poor weather and lives that feel designed for work and paying bills alone in UK and Europe. For one thing, you will never be able to buy land in London and build your dream home whereas I have purchased 4 different plots of land (minimum 500 SQM) of land in Lagos Island that have climbed up to 600% in value over 3 years. Leisure , nightlife and dining etal, is the best in Lagos and far superior to anything Europe has to offer. I have a driver in the week and drive myself weekends. I dare not contemplate employing a driver in the UK. Not affordable. A productive week ends with me driving to one of the nice resort around Lagos on Friday (La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort being one of my favourite) with any slim-thick beauty free that weekend.😎 People should not even get me started on food which Nigeria has the best of in the whole world, courtesy of sheer variety and being near organic, and I say this as a well-travelled sea food lover (very expensive in Europe) who has visited at least 25 nations of the world in and out of Africa. This is why I keep telling some here on NL to focus on developing themselves and becoming successful instead of going around crying every day barking rabidly at every rich and successful person. You want Seyi Tinubu lynched and Yusuf Buhari exiled but never understand their father conquered generational poverty the family now enjoys. As someone who has lived a majority of his life in the west, I can say with 💯 % certainty that it is the poorer quality of Lebanese, Indians, Brits, Korean, Chinese, Americans etal who come to Nigeria to make money. Tell young Nigerians to focus more on being solutions-providers, rather than being negative alone and always, so they can utilise the opportunities foreigners are trooping in to take advantage of and they insult you as is done to me daily here with "data boy" and "Tinubu hireling" slurs. How many Lebanese, Chinese etal do you see suffering in Nigeria despite the fact many are not better off (education or ability-wise) than Nigerians? The difference is that they see the myriads of opportunities on offer in States like Lagos, unavailable in their own nation, that most Nigerians, wallowing in misery and self-pity, can never spot. Look at Fouani LG that is Lebanese-owned franchise authorised to sell LG electronics in Nigeria and West Africa. I have already worked out a model with a British electronic firm to do similar and will market our Stores ( 2 to begin with in Lagos and Ogun State initially) under the banner of that firm. I am not even deploying 5% of my own money. All I brought to the table was a mind that is open, optimistic, ambitious and can spot solutions. Lagos has 23 million folks. It is one of the biggest consumer market in Africa. It is not difficult to raise finance for genuine and profitable niche ideas leveraging on taking even 10 Naira each , regularly, from a good percentage of that 23 million. Today, I only go back and forth to the UK. Love the nation but can never ever live there or in any Western nation. Living in Nigeria and Lagos, these past few years, has opened my eyes to the real beauty of life. If I want a holiday outside Nigeria, I will head to Seychelles, Kenya, Mauritius, Madagascar, Cape Coast Ghana , Gambia etc but never the West haven done Spain, USA, Europe etal to death in my twenties and cannot now justify comparing them to some African nations for pure pleasure, beautiful people, food, nature and financial cost. The sooner Nigerian young men and women begin focusing on developing themselves and gaining solutions-provision skills, instead of moaning all day and waiting on government, the closer a fab life is. A fab life that delivers two fab things. Personal success and contribution to the success of your nation. Nigerians, stop being so frigging negative. "Lagos smells" etc. Yet Idris Elba and Didier Drogba proclaimed it "most fabulous city in the world". I am amazed when unexposed and bitter haters slag off Lagos. Is it me who has been a londoner majority of his life, and has visited New York and many top cities of the world, who does not know what a great city is? Od course Lagos has problems but also a lot of positives too . Why then not get skills to make Lagos etal better, as young people elsewhere in the world would do, instead of always highlighting negatives alone? Below is a Ugandan social media personality gushing about Abuja. Yet all you people know is negativity, bitterness and insults. Just remember you have one life to live. You can remain bitter throughout that one life or try to achieve, succeed and be happy so that when God calls you, you leave the world with a smile on your face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_p-kLj4vtbw?si=f507_OXfPu9wJPDj |
MadPolitician:Read what you want from his post. Na your own wahala be dat. OP is breaking down the reality of Nigeria to you that is also the reality of whatever corner of Nigeria you come from. Anyone who cannot work with the reality on the ground, anywhere in the word, will fail. |
RayBandsNL:Lol. I noticed that as well. Seems like the dude. Need to enrol in a decent secondary school and then re-apply in ten years time. |
Dapo Abiodun is a very lucky guy. His sort should never be leaders yet we can all see how far he has gone as a political leader. He is a reflection of all that is good and bad about Nigeria. |
givedemwotowoto:Stop crying. If there is sound legal ground for deregistering those Parties then that is what should happen. |
RealityKings1:Absolutely. Okwute, must scatter them like Gbajabiamila advised. Mess the imperialists up. This is the 8 years slot of the South to complete. The North will never allow Southerners cheat then of even a day of their tenure if the situation is reversed. Yet some dishonorable Northerners are trying get away with what they won't accept because they know Southerners hate themselves and are not united. If Southerners are a United and proud group, would they not find it insulting Atiku contested in 2023 meaning he did not even want the South to have power for a day after Buhari? The nauseating arrogance. Carry go Obi. If you fail, pretty sure Jagaban can find you a critical Ministerial portfolio if you can drop your ego and work for a greater Nigeria. Hope your eyes don't clear now so you can see what Wike, Tinubu, Amaechi etal saw while you were busy calling those who view you as a mere stepping stone your "dear elder brother and leader".😎 |
God bless Peter Obi. For once he should show bravery and keep to his word. Eff up Atiku and his born-to-rule Fulani supremacist gang dividing the SE and SS vote. Jagaban is strolling back to Aso Rock for sure by 12:OO noon election day 😎 21 seconds to go . |
