DemonSlayer:Brilliant. At least someone gets it. |
Kanwulia:No wahala. Be ready to waste your own time and resources till 2031. Time and money you cannot get back will be the only thing you have to show, in 2031 when PBAT steps down after two terms, for your malevolent obsession with Tinubu. |
Kukutente23:Here we go again. You people lack shame. A deliberately divisive statement, indicating GRV intends to disenfranchise a major ethnic group in Lagos, is what you are trying to spin as if addressing toddlers? Why did he say he does not think in Yoruba? Why not say he does not think in Hausa, Tiv, Edo etal since those ethnic groups also have significant numbers in Lagos? A Governorship candidate sincerely ready to serve a cosmopolitan State, with literally 100 different ethnic groups, will never mention any particular ethnic group unfavourably. Such is not done anywhere in the world even if it is the norm where you come from. Problem with you lot is that you don't have the innate sincerity and intellect needed to carry the senseless arguments you make here. |
Davido should stay away from politics. He doesn't have the intellect or natural capacity to thrive in it. Outstanding musician but partisan politics will take him down. I mention "partisan" because Davido, if intelligent and politically ambitious, needs to take a look at the number of children who have abandoned their prominent dads to stand with Tinubu and APC. In politics, you don't back anyone blindly. Not even your father talk less of Uncle. No one knows tomorrow but I believe dancing Governor cannot return.. |
Kukutente23:Dealing in half-truth and deception as usual. Can I ascribe to lead Anambra , if say "I don't think in Igbo". You guys are nauseating hypocrites. GRV is a Yoruba-hating bigot and he has made this fact clear, with his words and action, on many occasions. This is why he can never be Governor of Lagos. You can remain here lying to yourself and your co-travellers. |
Felaincarnated:Lol.. Name the "free" States in Nigeria, with no one holding them for "blokos", better than Lagos that is the first choice of all Nigerians per economic migration. Some of you will just open mouth to spout gibberish. |
Kukutente23:Lol. Focus on GRV going to contest where he belongs. He cannot be Governor of Lagos which I know is your ultimate desire. |
Rubbish talk from Sanusi that shows many so-called Nigerian intellectual are nothing more than glorified bigots when the chips are down and they feel their side is losing. They begin to bastardize their own knowledge and training to fool Nigerians they assume are illiterates. For how ludicrously far Nigeria has fallen behind , due to decades of misrule, who is dumb enough to think subsidy removal savings is now enough to solve all of our severe problems and turn us into Singapore overnight? Abeg is saving from subsidy removal gazillion dollars or what is Sanusi saying? President Tinubu has assented to the 2026 Appropriation Bill with an aggregate expenditure ( capital and recurrent ) of ₦68.32 trillion. for all the affairs of governing a nation of 240 million people approx based on what we will earn cumulatively as a nation (crude sale, iGR, Tax remittance etc) to include fuel subsidy savings. For context, South Africa, with 65.5 million people approx i.e almost a quarter of the population of Nigeria, has a 2026 - 2027 budget of 2.67 trillion rand which is around 216 trillion Naira. Additionally, and as one definitive citation, our power distribution and generation companies insist the FG owe them 6.2 trillion Naira since 2013-2014. GEJ and Buhari failed to pay that debt and only piled more on top of it. This is why DISCOs and GENCOs have effectively downed tool today. Responsibly, Tinubu sanctions an audit to reconcile what is owed to them and has agreed to pay a structured 3.3 trillion Naira to get power supply back on track and boost investor confidence in our privatised power sector. If we insist PBAT must not borrow, then let us remove even a fraction of 3.3 trillion out of our 2026 budget. The total figure begins to dwindle , per income to outgoings ratio, before addition of so many areas needing urgent attention meaning a failed budget !!! The advanced sale of crude Buhari and his cronies got literally many billions for, if not trillions, and left for the incoming Government of Tinubu is to be cleared by who exactly if not Tinubu? Same PBAT has shown his accounting background diligence and dedication to debt repayment and respect for contractual obligations all Presidents before him lacked. To be borne in mind is the fact the FG is still paying subsidy in the power sector etal and has initiated the biggest grand scale delivery of critical infrastructure Nigeria has seen since 1999. I could go on all day and the depressing picture will be that Nigeria still has far less income than she needs to continue to secure post 2-3% annual growth she needs to attain an independent and upscalable level of socio-economic strength, greater GDP, per capita income, SME growth, greater capacity to attract FDI, diversified economy etc etc, etc. Sanusi who is a far more knowledgeable person than me, a layman, is aware of all this and he chooses to be deceptive especially given that his kinsman Buhari has done the most damage to the socio-economic fortune of Nigeria since our current democracy began in 1999. Yes OO we don't need to borrow at all since Sanusi announces so and the ignorance, bias and prejudice of many Nigerians allow them blindly accept his jaundiced and gaslighting manipulation. Subsidy savings is gazillions of dollars as the likes of Sanusi want to fool ignorant Nigerians it is. Go and arrest Tinubu for hiding those savings under his mattress when he should be using it to transform Nigeria into Dubai in two months |
Lol. Agulu charlatan and fraud. Odikwa serious OOOO. |
Felaincarnated:Lagos is not Kwara, Katsina or Osun. No need to say more than that. If you know you know. |
Tareq1105:Correct. No one will tell you Ambode is not competent or ineffective as a leader. Issues boil down to the relationship he has with those who matter in Lagos. You can be an arrogant and maverick Governor in almost every other State in Nigeria, bar Lagos, and get away with it. Tinubu gained stupendous, life-long and unreal loyalty of many when Governor of Lagos because of his uncanny ability for carrying all along happily and healthily. Tinubu accomodates others and compromises a lot even as that that fact is not known publicly What many don't understand, that students of history many recognise, is that Lagos gubernatorial politics, after 1999, resembles the complexities guiding the rules of ascension in ancient Yoruba Kingdoms of Ife, Owo, Ijebu etal. That's why I laughed when some clowns were mentioning Seyi Tinubu I believe cannot be Governor of Lagos on account of his name alone and without paying his dues. Seyi may never become Governor if he does not start gaining serious political mileage and traction because Tinubu won't be around forever and we must always remember it is Tinubu's own capacity thay got him where he is in life. Meaning Seyi too must show that dominant and winning capacity or become totally irrelevant once his father leaves the stage. |
Patobanton:I don't think so. There is no I in team and being a team player is very important to the complex leadership structure of Lagos. Contrary to what many think, Tinubu alone does not call the shots in Lagos. Ambode may be 'rehabilitated in Tinubu's eyes but that won't be enough to place him above Hamzat. |
Kukutente23:It is always a sign of class and critical intelligence when a man does not poke his nose in the affairs of others. Your kind will never understand your talk only shows you are aberrant and unhealthy invested in the affairs of others and probably to the detriment of your own core constituency. Tell the divisive "I don't think in Yoruba" upstart GRV to go and contest in Anambra. Una wahala too much and that is why you are always fighting, dividing and alienating folks wherever you go. |
Btruth:I believe so too and I am backing him to become Governor. Those touting Ambode fail to understand that the ability to progressively carry everyone along as much as posiible, including many extremely wealthy and accomplished stakeholders important to Lagos behind the scene, puts Hamzat ahead of all others. His leadership history confirms it. |
datola:Not difficult to see why. I called it in favour of Hamzat a while back because he simply ticks all the boxes as a 'steady hand' that the GAC (Governor's advisory council) and majority of leadership stakeholders in Lagos endorse. |
helinues:Absolutely. Maybe 6 to 8 pages long by now. I just hope Tinubu will move quickly in his second term to deliver full restructuring of Nigeria, resource control and regional autonomy so we all can go and breathe in our respective region. As an optimistic, positive and happy person who wakes daily looking for a positive and fulfilled day in our wonderful nation, I am sick and tired of living with hateful, bitter, negative, vindictive and antagonistic enemies-within because of "one Nigeria". |
owobokiri:You guys do not mean well for Nigeria and your fellow Nigerias. You sit here all day pretending to be good governance advocates and emergency lovers of Nigeria. Yet you guys alone , out of more than 300 ethnic groups, hate on a project opening up many, many, many rural communities, for the first time ever, to possible industrialisation, SME growth boosting local employment and wealth plus progressive and developmental opportunities. A stupendous gamechanger !!! Travel and tourism around an Atlantic Ocean coastline, God chose to bless Nigeria with, will be insane leaving happy people , local and foreign, delirious with anticipation. How is anyone intelligent going to want you or one of your own in charge of Nigeria when you cannot be happy for the progess of others simply because such is being delivered by a President you have ethnocentric hatred for? Forumers should watch the video below from a patriotic, progressive and upbeat Nigerian, with literally many dozens similar available online existing, that would get any decent and well-meaning Nigerian smiling at the prospect of rural areas and their inhabitants coming into wealth, prosperity and modernity. Your sort can simply never wish society and others well if you or your kinsmen are not in charge. This is why you guys are the biggest, most bitter and most senselessly unobjecrive critics of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway you use every excuse to malign. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyf91UYXZaM?si=AivGMOWgXUCIE42v |
omenka:God bless you baba. I take note of things like that to make my own conclusions about why Nigeria is backwards despite many abundant endowment by God and nature. When the likes of the thread you mention get more attention than this one, that is korokoro revelation that Nigeria has more hateful, bitter, unprogressive and self-desteuctive people than is healthy. The irony is that these very same people are the one's most vocal highlighting problems, pretending to be good governance advocate who love Nigeria more than all others, yet they fail to show up to commend wins and progress for Nigeria. |
See as thread silent. Haters and bad belle people have lost their voice. Kai Nairaland is a mortuary, filled with gloomy undertakers, where death and misery is the norm rather than a maternity ward where new life and happiness is everywhere. |
7upnigeria:Precisely. No one can dismiss the possibility you raise here because EL Rufai, we all know, is radical and extremist in nature . |
zelnababa:Don't mind some people. |
Lol. I predicted this would happen, and now it has, for the simple reason Nigeria is under scrutiny as a highly terrorised nation that cannot tame banditry and terrorism because of internal sabotage. Tinubu cannot look good globally, trying to convince the world he is the 'truth per Nigerian leadership, if he does not take seriously the prosecution of those, specifically Fulani and from the North, taunting Nigeria as if they are above the law, untouchable and have the entire Nigerian security architecture under their control. |
SmartPolician:You're right about this. Especially because, gifted and talented as anyone is, health issues can take out the shiniest human Stars around us. Health is indeed wealth. Young man @ 50. RIP. |
Pacesetter123:Fair point and I agree with the bolded. My point is that Tinubu begs no one and he does not hide. We his fans also challenge others to bring it on. We don't cry like others constantly demanding opposition give their candidates hugs and flowers because we know PBAT has capacity and he uses it to overcome others. He will win come January and Nigeria will be beautiful within a year because he has to be a battering ram as he is not returning. Mark it down. |
Wealthoptulent:Lol. Sharp guy. We don pencil down Kenya as Top spot, including Ghana and Gambia in three nations tour. Me and three of my friends. Those three above, Naija friendly with good food, fun, nice Airbnb and a lot of pretty ladies. We leave December 3rd return December 21st come finish year in Naija "Detty December".style. 😎 This one Ugandans dey show Naija love publicly these days, na to try detour there for like 2 or 3 days to see wetin dey on ground. |
@OP. Nuff haters here but I dey gbadun this your thread gidi gan. In fact I am thinking of including Uganda in an African tour me and my friends are planning later in the year. The love and praises Ugandans are showering on Nigeria lately is enticing.. It must mean 'goodies' await on ground in Uganda. 😎 Engr. Akovuku explained that the Uganda goverment, as part of its vision 2040, merged the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) and the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) to form UVTAB whose mandate include technical education. He said the Uganda’s vision 2040 envisioned a transformed economy powered by a skilled and adaptable workforce. |
Zionmdde:More obtuse talk from an unprogressivey stubborn character. Tinubu fired Edun. Get over it and stop talking blind !!! Perhaps he wasn't a team player, irreconxilable differences on key policies arose or he liked wearing pink socks that annoys Tinubu !!! Point is we don't know precisely why Edun is gone and you cannot hijack the development to begin spinning it to conform with the narrative you wish to present. Per bolded in your post, I can tell you categorically that 0you dont have a right to know why the President of Nigeria appoints or sack anyone. Be officially informed before trying to pretend to be a good governance advocate because the little things you don't know , yet pompously pretend you do, mark you out as someone with ulterior motives not linked to his/her pretence to be seeking the good governance of Nigeria. Like Obidients for example.

lawani:Classism is not an issue in a society where leaders, especially political, have made the effort to keep all citizens, within reason, happy and fulfilled regardless of their social class. I've lived in the UK most of my life and the people who talk as you do are those activist overly obsessed with insisting the British monarchy is somehow evil because it is generationally wealthy and privileged. Whereas most Britons don't mind them, with many actually even fans of the monarchy, because they too, and to a reasonable extent, can have more modest versions of what the royals and wealthiest in society have. Like the ability to buy a comfortable home with a 25 year mortgage, live well, eat well, go on family holidays twice a year, have a brand new car every three years on lease plan because of good credit, buy two of the same 65" OLED TV King Charles uses per good credit etc, etc. Most modern nations have long accepted that class divisions happen naturally to then identify that the key to keeping all as happy as possible is to ensure citizens, in whatever class they find themselves, have fulfilled lives and are not disenfranchised or discriminated against. Nations that can achieve that don't have to worry about class division which are not really formal or distinctly pronounced anymore, as things were in the age that led to the French revolution, with many today being able to transcend class barriers even if they begun as slaves, to become almost royalty. I.e Cicely Tyson. Societies simply need to strive to work well for every inhabitant as best as possible. Although I can see your disdain for classism if applied to Nigeria where the wealthy and privileged go out of their way to ensure society is discriminatory and not as meritocratic as she needs to be so that all below them are never empowered and they alone have lives of opulence, privilege and opportunities. |
seunmsg:Wale Edun is their latest hero because Tinubu sacked him whereas any normal person will agree a President has the prerogative to hire and sack at will, because of power reposed in his office, without offering a public explanation to anyone. Maybe they want Tinubu to hold a public Q&A session every time he fires an appointee so that even kids can question his decision. |
aswani:Agree with the bolded. Not the type to block people anyway and have never done it, MODs can confirm, because I believe having 'thick skin' toughens a person and delivers the capacity to deal with and overcome detractors. Imagine their frustration, In the end, when they lose out in spite of their desperate lies, propaganda , fake news etal? By January when it is clear Obi is not getting the keys to Aso Rock, and is likely finished in Nigerian politics, I will be waiting. |
Zionmdde:You guys and your irritating discussion style based on pedantic and annoying obduracy. Where is it stated Tinubu must publicly stipulate the reason he sacked Edun? Fact is Tinubu has the right to appoint and replace representatives of his Government. Those who believe in the leadership of a President accept the decisions he takes, unless such are illegal, because they know he has the right to take those decision and is not obligated to explain himself. |
