No one here can say with certainty, only the visa officer reading your application.
Clearly you will have to work very, very hard to convince the VO why you want this path and what benefit it will provide you.

You plan to abandon one career why will you not abandon nursing?

All they will be interested in is proof that you can pay all your health bills.
Along with contact details of your doctor / birth clinic.

You might not be asked for anything, but you should have these documents available in your hand luggage.

You need to start again (without an agent.)
Register and pay for school entry, then apply for a visa.

One way ticket needs no explanation!
The simple question is how could anyone think they would get away with this?

You must have a receipt to show where the loan came from.
You need to convince the VO that the money is for a car, not being used as travel funds.

When they ask for information reply and answer them in full.
Also find out the names of advisers and contact them to build up a relationship.

Yes it's a lot of work but nothing good is easy!

I suspect that they refused him because he proposed using half of his savings on a short holiday.
This can look like he has no reason to return.
Kids and wife are not much of a tie Nigerian men abandon them at the drop of a hat!
He should look at his ties to home and proof of return, then finances.

My thought is that being a lady, there is a high chance of the daughter not having same last name as hers for many reasons. All she need do is go to the interview with the daughter's birth certificate.

Very possible for daughter with different name.
Very possible un-married mother.
There is no stigma to this and they will not be condemned.

It does raise extra complications and it is quite possible that they will require a DNA test.

You have a degree but no job
concentrate on making something of yourself to gain his respect.
After all if you have no job now what proof is there that more qualifications will allow you to get one?

Also 23 birds is not a farm! That is just a hobby!
Pull your finger out and build a real business. When you have 2300 birds you can call it a farm.

First, USA embassy are not interested in invitations, they will not consider it.

Your application will be judged on your strong ties to prove that you will return home.
Then robust finances.

Of course they will affect the decision.
You do not state the reason for refusal but unless you make BIG changes to your circumstances you chance being refused again.

Do not make the mistake of lying, that just leads to a ban.

TWoods, thanks very much for your input. I can hear lots of first hand experience from your comments. I have 21,600 USD Research Assistantship (RA) from the School over 9 months. I will also have about 12M naira from disposal of landed property on my bank account. Hopefully, that should be enough for funds not to be a problem during the interview. I am strongly leaning on me and wifey going at the same time. thank you!

Just be very sure that you show good proof that you will return home.
Selling up property and taking wifey could look like you intend to stay there!
