Sarki140: Through personal Savings for the past 8 months. Most savings are money i receive weekly.I rarely withdraw money from the account and no huge deposits. Most savings are below 100 USD. Am 23 years Old and my parents can not sponsor me at the moment. Thanks SorryAs I said on the thread that was closed. Your ties to home are not good. You intend to use most of your small savings on one short trip. The visa officers do not like those things and rejection is very likely. Best not to waste the application fee. |

Femcesc07: Hello nairalanders Pls i need advise/help on this My intentions was to apply for Dubai working Visa to work/hustle so my brother took me to his friend who is a traveling agent, so the agent now said Dubai is not a good place to work that i shoukd rather go for South African working visa, please i need advise on this maybe to apply for Dubai or SA. Your first move should be to run away from any so called agent. With a little effort you can do everything yourself and not pay agent for false papers and stamps. |

Sarki140: Good Evening everyone. Please am a final year university student and i would like to apply for a United Kingdom Tourist Visa.I would like to sponsor myself because i have been saving for this trip for the past year.I Plan to spend 9 Days in the UK.I really cant explain the source of the money and i have not made any large deposits in the account.I am saving purposely for the Foreign Trip and most of the deposits are not more than 100 Dollars.I am still been taken cared of by my parents. The closing balance as at now is 2200 Dollars. Please i really need help in making expenses for the trip. This is my first time.Thank you very much for taking your time to read this post.Hoping to hear from you. This will not be easy, sorry. You will be spending most of your savings on a short trip. This does not leave much for you to return to. As a student your ties to return home are not good. I would not advise you to apply at this time as you would almost certainly be wasting the visa fee. |

WILLIAMS10: I really appreciate ur responses. I just did an amateur calculation;let's say I make £7 an hour,in 20Hrs I'll be making £140. Which means in one month,I'll get around £560. My MA study runs for one year. With that monthly wage,I can only make about £6720 and I still have a tuition fee debt of £6000 plus accommodation wahala.Hmmmm,it's looking almost impossible. although,my brother promised to pay £2000 before I leave naija.so technically I'm left with a £4000 debt plus accommodation issues. Abeg I need more views, observation and advice. Thanks Out of that you may pay tax and national insurance. Are UK earnings of international students taxable in the UK?
Many international students find work in the UK with a UK employer. If you do, then you will pay tax and National Insurance contributions on these earnings |

Heichhhh: Hello everyone, new guy*, so basically I'm doing an exchange medical program me in uk and need tier 4. 1.I'm staying only 6 weeks , do I need the T.B test. 2. The account I'm using for proof of support is a family member's there but during the 28 days, it went below the requirement for a short while , the account is usually way above the amount and has regular income , should I still use it ? The account must be above the required amount for all of the 28 days. If it dipped below you must start counting again. Or use another account. |

I tried to confirm if it's true, using OANDA on my phone. I checked £9,315 which is N2,084,241 and £5,800- N1,297,756
I want to ask you guys, if these are the real exchange result using OANDA? And if that's the amount bank(s) will also recognise.
I will be grateful if you guys can tell me the result of those prices are correct or not.
Thanks What banks charge is changing every day, you will need to ask your bank on the day. The ONANDA rate is used by the British embassy to check your funds your bank might use something different. |

The visa officer will look at your statement on the day that you apply. They will use the conversion at the ONADA site on that day to calculate your funds. https://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/ NOT when you print the statement! |

fizzile: Guys, please I have a question. It still has to do with this 28days counting period. If for instance on 1st of July I started counting my 28days counting at let's say 370 for a pound and had the require amount and let's say on 5th of July the rate increases to about 379 forcing the required amount to drop slightly and on the 25th or 26th day the rate drops to 368 thereby allowing you have the required for the 28days, will it be right to print your statement bearing in mind the amount has been in that account for the 28days needed and is in line with the exchange rate for that day. Please someone should help. How will it be calculated pls? cc: justwise, olowob, and the gurus We have said this many times. BarryJones: pls how do they dress to class in the UK.. i am planning on taking a lot of native ankara and lace dressess. with a few coporate shirts and a suit.Is it true that clothes are cheaper over there? also will our normal nigerian sweater be enough to protect me from the cold over there? what are the food items & kithen utensils i need to take along?.thanks No one will mind how you dress to classes. Take what YOU feel comfortable in, as your ideas develop you can buy cloths there. Warm clothing can be bought when you decide what you want. Try to take a coat as it may be wet when you arrive and you will feel the cold. Clothes can be cheap or expensive but there is plenty of selection at all levels. If funds are not abundant look for charity shops or car boot sales. Here you will find used goods at fair prices. All your kitchen utensils can be bought there again ranging from cheap to expensive designer brands. You will find some foods in large supermarkets and Asian stores often stock African items. Someone at the students union will be able to direct you to shops. |

SirWellington: I didn't answer cos it was an inconsequential question... taking precedence from how you approached the simple question I asked iot showed you has no idea what I was saying. As for betting odds... that's naive considering the basis on which I asked...come on. If you don't have an answer, just ignore. It is very far from an inconsequential question. You might ave a distinction in engineering, which is good for getting a job. You might have a third in sociology which will not get a job dish washing! |

My question was as simple as A,B,C.... on a 50-50 basis...what are the chances? And not lessons on fate. You still do not answer simple question. What degree What subject What grade What school. Also we do not give betting odds. |

OmoBendel24: Just prove me wrong sha! I believe with little equivocation that the purpose for which the Malaysian visa was granted you wasn't for BUSINESS purposes (probably for visit or academic purpose), and if I'm in any way correct, therein lies the reason for your US visa refusal. You can't really be trusted to abide by the visa terms if granted! Good afternoon AgreeMe- To do business, i went to buy furniture. V.O. checked and saw tourist visa, not business visa. Rejection! Even simple wording like that must be accurate and truthful. |

Something tells me to UKBA must have factored in something to avoid this volatility for applicants. Advise needed. I think that you will find UKBA just state that it is your responsibility to ensure sufficient funds for any contingency. Calculating to the last Nair will end in tears. |

Sory for the long write up..pls advice a sister..epp! My head is just full.. The normal thing is to book a hotel for one or two nights. When you get to the school the admissions office or students union will have details of accommodation. It would not be safe or advisable to arrive at night in central Manchester to stay on the street. You may wait in train station or possibly airport safe but not very comfortable. You may be asked by VO where you will stay. |

I have deposited my maintenance fees in my account and I'm close to the stipulated 28 days now..however I'm a bit confused as the exchange rate had gone up from when I started counting the 28 days. My simple question is which exchange rate will be used by the UKBA. Will it be as at when I started counting or the rate as at when I'll be applying. The calculation is the ONANDA rate on the day you apply. https://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/What you actually pay to a bank for pounds may be different! |

We all have different circumstances. It's not one cap fits all. Btw my reason was because I wanted to concentrate on my graduate school plans. For me, that shows a serious and extremely focused prospective student. cc gentledoj To a visa officer the same action could look like someone with no ties to return and thus a risk if absconding. 214b may be the result! |
