Hey bro, the cap as stipulated for an MBA is £18,000.
I know of MBA, it was stated on the application portal, what of other courses? Can't find such condition for others o. I'm assuming it's 100%.
In addition, who should the reference letters be addressed to?

Howdy, nice to know you're here. I think the cap is only for MBA and not applicable to others. What's the cap please?

Now about Feminism, I don't hate feminists, there are guys who love such women and want to have them as wife. Me I don't want to have a feminist as wife. Reason: I am the head of my Family, my wife and I are not equal, I am her head, I am her king, I am her superior, I am her husband.......I love her more than anything else, hence I give her my all. In doing this she has control over everything including my mind. In decision making, in running of the home, in child welfare, in everything, I would seek her counsel. After we have shared ideas, if I still insist on my decision, she should respect that without trying to be equal because we are not equal!!!
Its not about Ego or tradition or what have you, its just following simple bible principles (Yes I am a christian).

Summarily, in my view, Maybe man and woman in general are equal- but HUSBAND AND WIFE ARE NOT EQUAL the husband is head and the wife is second in command.

Shikena.

You misunderstand completely what feminism is about. What rights is she claiming in HER HOME?
Nancy, a feminist fights for and supports equality of women with men. At the risk of sounding traditional, i'm saying women tend to domesticate this issue of feminism to the detriments of their homes. A wise lady would know how to press the right buttons to make her hubby consider her views on certain household issues and not turn it into an argument - what i mean by claiming rights.

You know what? Men who treat their wives like slaves all in the name of "Head of the family" are uncivilized (I'm sorry if dats harsh). But, feminists for house? na for everything she go dey claim right grin. I think feminists deserve traditional men, maybe that would make them submissive wink

Fear is an understatement.
grin
The truth is as there's neither a perfect man nor perfect lady out there as most of us inadvertently crave, there's no marriage devoid of challenges and frictions, but with mutual trust, understanding and God factor, the home could still be a haven.
The key to marital bliss is to match style with ambition while still searching, in other words developing good character and hanging out with folks of like minds because like dissolves like.

^^^^^^^ Didn't you see the 'may' there? IELTS isn't needed to obtain a commonwealth scholarship in Nigeria. . Core requirements have been stated on the front page...

Besides, that you quoted is just an optional rule to all countries involved in commonwealth scholarship.. It isn't needed in Nigeria. . It may be needed in another country. ...,

Cc wroskian

Of course i saw the conditional word, the reason i put it in CAPITAL. It is well...

Since you took part last year, could you guide on the "nominating agency" issues cos i sensed people are confused about this. Thanks for your commendation.

ielts.britishcouncil.org Costs about 40K, you'll need your international passport for registration and on test day.

Please IELTS isn't needed to obtain a commonwealth scholarship, the requirements are already stated on the first page...

You will only need an English exam if your prospective school requests such.. However, most schools in the UK don't require English exam because we use same British English... Schools like Imperial College only require you have A1-C4 in your WAEC... You'll only need an English exam if you didn't make a good grade in WAEC or your school specifically requests for that.... *check out for your school's requirements*

Cc: shinelle

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
You MAY be required to take the academic IELTS English language test as a condition of eligibility. It is your responsibility to check with your nominating agency whether this requirement applies to you. An IELTS test will be considered valid only if it is taken after 1 October 2015 and before 6 March 2016. You must achieve an overall score of 6.5, with no less than 5.5 in each band.
As a further condition of award, you MAY be required, by the CSC or your university, to provide evidence of a particular level of English language proficiency.

*Copied the above directly from the prospectus, what do you think my dear Sister*

I am not sure all UK Universities support the CS, my advice is for everyone to carry out thorough research so as not to take the wrong steps.
NOTE: I am not applying for this, just helping out with the little info at my disposal, just hoping i don't mislead peeps in the long-run. CHEERS.

thanks a lot !!
my reason for avoiding those tests as I said earlier is not necessarily fear as I may have sounded , it's just because I'm involved with a alot of study (ican ) and thats not really an exam you combine with another...
all the same, ild work something out.
If you are going to conclude your ICAN exams by december and the conditions for applying for the scholarship allows you to present your English test scores later (maybe till around May 2016); then you can conveniently work something out as there would be time to adequately prepare. So, carefully peruse the brochure.

abiambo:
Am also a gas engineer, with some experience in NLNG, but I think d best place for you is chevron.
In chevron u can be a fulfilled gas engineer and more, they will push u to other fields and broaden u. Making you a complete engineer at the end of the day, whereas in NLNG u might get bored and really streamlined cos as u know nlng is 1 aspect of d gas biz, u have gtls, lpg, condensates but these operations r smaller, in chevy u can turn into a production guru, a drilling expert, a mud engineer, a completions man and a gas engineer. U might not b so fulfilled in nlng as u will in chevy, refinery is even worse, u get HC feed and distil, crack and all desame tin in d next 30 yrs am sure u want more from life if u had an option.
Today am a gas engineer, mud engineer, and I knw abit of completion am looking for a job for now but I can confortably fit into more companies than if I ended my world in gas.remember we ve only 1 functioning lng in d country atm. If u loose ur lng job 10 yrs in u ve to den look for a job abroad cos an oil servicing company won't rush u, neither will most IOCs
But if u loose ur chevy job 10 yrs in u might just stroll into she'll or agip better still total e$p.

To any1 who can help, I need a job badly just mention nd ill send my CV. Tnx
Can you link me up for a graduate intern role, i need hands-on experience to develop my skills. Interested in production or safety aspects of O&G, studied Chemistry.

I want to apply for the Commonwealth scholarship against next year and they have a list of schools that they partner with. Now ild have to start applying to some of those schools but I need to know the schools amongst the ones listed that will be "easy" (maybe those that aren't too competitive ) to get admitted into, and the location isn't too bad . Secondly I need to ask if there are specific unis that dont require IELTS or toefl and the rest.. Co's I'm trying hard to avoid all those things too..
plus I intend to study (M.sc accounting and finance)

Hi, definitely, the current opening is against next year and i don't think you could avoid the English test. If your prospective school doesn't ask for it (which i doubt), it is one of the requirements for the award of the scholarship. Download the guidelines and peruse to learn more.

My advice: carry out a thorough research to know the school(s) that's going to suit your purpose (or purposes) apply and begin preparing to take an English test which could be any of IELTS, Toefl, or Pearson (can't remember if it's limited to any of these now).
Don't be scared of English proficiency tests, with the right preparation and mindset, success is possible. Some people have scaled this hurdle in the past, so why not you, rise up to the challenge. All the best. Cheers.
