This abnormalitity must be investigated by GMB and all involved jailed. Such a shame.

so why did the war get worse after foolish jonathan removed ihejirika to appease north?the war shd have ceased.buhari dt used to accuse jona of killing'innocent' northern youths is now vowing to make the war against bh worse.
But it is now confined to the North East; the original source of the BH. During Ihejirika, it spread all across the North like a wild fire killing some of the Generals that were involved in the civil war( General Shuwa comes to mind); Remember that our soldiers were killing innocent civilians all in the name of coleteral damage, to this Amnesty international has supported. We live in the North and nobody can tell us what really happened.

Gaidam is an elected governor in Nigeria. This makes him a strong man who controles the lives of millions of people.. If the op was opportuned to snap with him, is a good thing by our standard in Nigeria. Why are some people hating the op's happiness? But if na Akin and Pawpaw them snap with now, they will be expecting everyone to come and rejoice with them. Which can orientation some people they recieve self.

Rigging for a corrupt politician is "somehow" understandable cos the corrupt politician is away and sanctioned it but rigging for Mr integrity is what I don't understand. Mr integrity should have said no " I did not win this election freely so cancel it as am not gonna accept a corrupt election mandate". Now its obvious Mr Integrity is standing on a corrupt mandate.

The correct thing you should have said is Northern under aged/Vote writers vs Southern Vote writer. Hope you know who gonna come on top
What evidence do you have that the underage voters voted for a particular candidate? The writer has said a matter of legislation can aprove underage voters but not vote-writing.
Politics / Re: Northern Leaders Conspired To Sabotage Jonathan – Umeh by Wsdm: 1:50pm On Apr 15, 2015
The South-South where Jonathan hails from are even extremely more matured than their counterpart in the South East. It seems Jonathan has been used to a point of despiration by these people- the reason they are so pained. Governor Nyako had said that the war against the Boko Haram by Ihejirika led army was a retalliation of the civil war against the north. I am begining to see this as true. Anyway, let us wait for a sane government to take charge; who knows, there may be much that we have not heard. The greatest enemy of Jonathan are the Igbos and Jonathan may soon realise this fact. When Buhari and the save Nigeria Group were busy protesting against the Yar'adua cabal, where were the Igbos?

I think he is missing it up, actually the northern politicians @ that time did, people like Atiku, Adamu Shroma etc, and the rest is history, and do not forget the Boko haram group named the president elect as one of their reliable mediator, wen they were to sign a peace accord with the federal government.
They mentioned Buhari along side other notable respected Northern elders whom they felt would be straightforward with the nagotiation and not the initial hanky panky game been played by the Federal government. Buhari knowing the implication of taking part turned them down.

The woefull performance of APC in 28 March election in Rivers state is giving Amaechi unbearable body itch. Despite his so called popularity, he couldn't deliver his party hence the desperation to achieve success through arm twisting.
If Rivers state REC must go, then Kano, katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa RECs must follow her.
Do not compare the 'election' in those Northern cities to the 'comedy' that a professor could not read. In the coming days at the tribunal, we shall know which election was a charade.

Politics / Re: Our Biggest Mistake Was To Appoint Fani- Kayode As Jonathan’s Campaign Manager by Wsdm: 8:07pm On Apr 05, 2015
mmsen:

Unprotected sexual intercourse comes about as a result of ignorance, old men take advantage of their status and income to abuse young girls. This is how disease is spread and are you saying that there is no prostitution in the north? We all know what happens to many of those child brides - many are sent packing with their children once the old men are finished with her. Is that not what Senator Yerima did with the child bride that he purchased from Egypt?

At no point have I used the word 'civilization', I used the word 'development' which is far more important than age old customs that serve none but a tiny minority.

An average northerner cannot read and write by any indices, that is what the stats show us - more children are out of the school in the north than in the south and those that are in school fare poorly in the NECO and WAEC exams.

Your claim that that the Brits left Nigeria in the hands of the northerners because they meant well by Nigeria looks foolish in light of the facts. Britain had no good intentions towards Africans, anywhere. For you to claim otherwise shows immense naivete. They left the country in the hands of cabal that had a record of keeping the majority subject, backwards and desperate. How can you claim otherwise with so much immense poverty in north? That was true when the British were in Nigeria and is still the case today.

The west brought civilization to the South; they did not see any way of life that orderly enough to sanctify. But when they arrived the North; they met them already practicing islamic ways of life as emulated by their earlier masters. So they only needed to impose their western ideas through the barrel. So some one who have already embraced Eastern culture should not be looked down upon- that is the simple reason they allowed the leadership of Nigeria in the hands of the North.
On the issue of WAEC. Every household in the North teaches their children the Qoranic knowledge before any other knowledge(offcourse; the western knowledge). So when they are now introduced to the western knowledge due to national integration; they find it less interesting. At the time they begin to realise the need to study the western knowledge,WAEC is knocking at the door. But once they cross this hurdle; check out their performances in the various higher institutions in Nigeria.

There's no doubt in my mind that the North was united in purpose. I don't in any way suggest that it is a bad thing. I actually commend them. That's how regional politics should be played.

I am not surprised that there are no dissenting voices in the North. The simple reason behind that is that there was only one aim at the presidential election-the return of power to the North. I am sure if PDP had fielded a Northerner, they would have won. Also, if APC had fielded a Southerner, they would have lost too. Change or no change!

We can pretend all we want, but the above scenarios are simply true.
The death of innocent people by a rag tag militants that saw our once formidable military scampering in dellussion baffled most of us in the North. We told our selves that a conspiracy is there orcasterated by the malign South to undermine the population of the North just so that the can achieve more electoral value in 2015. This was butteress when General Shuwa was killed without any resistance from his about 10 military guard- who ordered them not tp attack? All the soldiers check points leading to Burni yard seconadary schools were deserted before the militant struck- who ordered such negligence! And remember that as i type now no one have being arrested for such dereliction of duty. The former governor of Adamawa state wrote a letter pointing at these anomalies, instead of the government to do the right thing they schemed so hard to remove him from his post. All these lead to our resolve to oust this regime by constitutional means.

What does political maturity mean and why does that northern political maturity not lead to any kind of development?

Why are you so far behind in all indices? Education, health, quality of life, gender equality.

Kidnapping has largely abated in the south and is nothing compared to what has happened in the north east of late, lest we forget the Chibok girls are still missing.

The petty crime that you listed is no where near as destructive (nor is it exclusive to the south) as the senseless violence that northerners so frequently engage in against their neighbors, the silly rioting, the petty pogroms. Are you animals or human beings?

As to you bringing up HIV/AIDS:

In some regions of Nigeria girls marry relatively young, often to much older men. Studies have found those who are married at a younger age have less knowledge about HIV and AIDS than unmarried women, and are more likely to believe they are low-risk for becoming infected with HIV. 18 HIV and AIDS education initiatives need to ensure they focus on married girls, as they are less likely to have access to health information than unmarried girls. 19 However, the need to improve knowledge about HIV among girls overall (both married and unmarried) remains, as HIV prevention knowledge is significantly less among girls (aged 15-19), compared to boys. 20 Addressing the social and cultural factors that contribute to early sexual debut among girls, notably gender inequality, in Nigeria is integral to successful HIV prevention among this group.

In North Western Nigeria around half of girls are married by age 15 and four out of five girls are married by the time they are 18. 21
Twice as many girls than boys are engaging in sexual activity before the age of 15 years.

http://www.avert.org/hiv-aids-nigeria.htm

Again, the root cause of the HIV problem is a lack of education and child marriage which is most pervasive in which region? Again, the north.

Because you cannot see how behind the bell curve you are you keep pushing a senseless northern agenda. You guys have a long way to go to get to the 20th century, not to speak of the 21st.
The root cause of HIV is not early marriage but unprotected sexual intercourse. Illicit sexual intercourse is religiously abhored in the Northern axis of Nigeria. Marriage is a mutual arrangement that involves elders of known repute. Can you compare this to the prostitution that is prevalent in the South? In African culture, any child born out of wedlock is a bastard. If a censeus is conducted using this indices, i hope that you know who the bastards are.
The North have their own civilization curled from the people they have lived with for centuries. If you are going to talk about civilization understand that western culture is not the only civilization in existence. As i type in english so i can also do using arabic- a diverse knowledge and culture. An average person from the North can write and read in arabic which makes them more literate than any region in Nigeria.

What does that have to do with the prevalence of polio in the north?

The prevalence of fistula in the north?

Why is child marriage still an issue in the north?

What of the issue of malnutrition in the north?

The rate of illiteracy in the north?

The high rate of poverty in the north?

The appalling WAEC and NECO results in the north (http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/13-northern-states-trail-in-waec-results/)?

Why do northern muslims resort to violence so often? Why do the muslims in the mid and south west not behave so barbarically?

You have leaders who have done and continue to do a dreadful job of elevating northern people and still you champion them. You are at best slaves, not just to the crooks that you bow to who call themselves your religious and political leaders but also to the wider Ummah who have no regard for you.

My post was targeted at correcting the wailing of the South even when the chips are down. If you are talking about polio due to negligence by some, i may also have to rmind you of HIV , pick ,poketers, prostitutes, armed robbery, kidnapping etc, etc etc. The fact that the North are politically more matured does not mean it has clean slate in all ramification.

The North is only managing it well because both pdp and APC in the North worked for Buhari. To them, it is all about the North and not about Nugeria. That's nothing to be proud of.

Imagine, Sambo the VP could not deliver his state, even as the governor is pdp. Muazu the pdp chairman, couldn't deliver his state. Even a blind person could see that the north was united in wrestling power back to north, no matter the party.

If the North are such great leaders, why are we where we are today? Even as Jona was president, the north still had control of most of the government parastatals. How do they fair?

There are good leaders from every part of the country. Nobody has monopoly of quality leadership.
So Yuguda,Dakingari,Babangida and Sambo all worked for the North at the detriment of their personal political carriers? If all the North conspired as all of you alludes, why will Kano state with more than 4million pvs collection only recorded 1.9million votes for Buhari? Infact, if the North did half of what people from the South did; you would have been hearing of 30million votes for Buhari.
