Thank you great guys in this forum. The second guy who scanned the vehicle also agreed with the first in saying that the coils are bad. That means the ones I bought are also bad. Thankfully the seller collected it back and asked that I add 5k so that he can get me another set from Ladipo, Lagos. My sister objected but I gave him the 5k, so the new ones arrived yesterday evening. It was fixed this morning and I have driven from Akure to Owo and back and driven round the city in Akure today. No more stopping.
@Sultaan, the sacnner guy said that sensor near the thermostat could also cause it but said the one in the tribute is good. Thank you so much bros.

Lesson learnt, we must always get our cars scanned and insist on original parts. This simple problem took 9k from me and about 35k from my sister. She bought plugs, fuel pump, kick starter etc that were not bad originally. Meanwhile, a simple scan revealed that its ignition coil.

Check the engine temperature it might be overheating, or the coolant temp sensor is reading a high temp and shutting down the car

The auto scan man I spoke to also mentioned the issue of coolant temperature sensor, he promised to help look into the issue tomorrow Monday. However, I didn't notice overheating at all. The temperature gauge didn't go beyond the normal middle level.

Thank you brother, my sister changed the fuel pump earlier this week. The plugs have been changed too.

My younger sister drives a 2004 Mazda Tribute. Very beautiful SUV. She bought it as Nigeria used about one year ago and there hasn't been any issue since then. Last week she called to tell me that the car stops in motion and won't start again until she allows it to rest for like 30 minutes. I drove it myself today. I drove it really hard on a very good road. After driving for like 25 minutes the engine went off in motion. I called the rewire who brought a scanner to scan it. He said its coil issue, I change all the four coils and drove it again, the problem repeated itself. Stop on the highway and would not start until it has cooled down for like 30 minutes. He wanted to do trial and error on the wiring system but I didn't allow him. I told him to do correct scan and get the real issue before moving on to touch anything. I'm still trying to get a better auto scanner to do a better job for me.
Can someone help me out here?

Sade's husband Kunle is the last child and only son in his family. He has three elder sisters who are married and are doing so well. Their father is a retired oil industry worker while the mother is a retired school principal. According to Sade, the family especially the married sisters sends money to Kunle almost every month, meanwhile Kunle, a laboratory scientist is a Manager in a big chemical marketing company where he earns a little less than 200k monthly. Sade's problem is that she doesn't feel at ease with her husband's family since they renders financial assistance to her and her husband all the time. Please house, what kind of a person is this woman called Sade? I told Sade's elder sister yesterday that she is being unnecessarily jealous and creating problems for herself where there ought to be none. Why not allow her hubby's family to help him start the business and work hard to make it successful so that they'll become financially independent before long, that's my view! Am I right?

Thank you guys, she eventually decided on highlander too. Her husband prefer highlander even though he rides Benz GL 460, the same reasons given above formed the basis for her decision, thank you all.

For a start, 3 million naira cannot and will not buy that that 2015 Highlander. That's just enough to clear the car with some change.

If you drive a car that is not so common, you will have to source for solutions to problems that are not so common. Highlander would be your best bet if you are outside big cities like lagos, abj, kaduna, onitsha etc. Imagine waiting for 3 days for something like a cooling fan or brake pads.

In terms of looks, I'd say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Someone designed pontiac aztec and thought it was beautiful .

I'm not in support of herd mentality but there is a reason people go with the herd and they are often right.

If it's going to be her only car, I'd suggest the Highlander.

Personally, I'd go with the Highlander. They are everywhere, parts abound, mechanics abound. You see some of those fancy mechanic workshops that have sprung up in some big cities, forget them oo. By the time some of them are done with you, you will wish you went to kabiru. Last last, they will call one guru from Abuja or lagos to work on the car and still charge you for calling in the "expert".

The choice is yours though.

Read the post very well, I didn't say 3 million naira will buy 2015 highlander, I said the 2015 ford is 3 million naira cheaper than 2015 highlander

My elder sister is about making a choice of another Tokunbo Car. She wants something cosy, elegant and cool. She has a choice to make between 2015 Highlander and 2015 Ford Edge. In terms of price, the ford is about 3 million naira cheaper than the highlander, I am of the view that the difference could be invested in her business, I'm taking side with the ford. I think it meets her requirements of being cozy, elegant and cool while I see the highlander as overpriced. That's me anyway. My sister have inspected the two and she fell in love with both, she is therefore looking up to my decision. The money is not going to be her problem even though her business could receive a boost with an injection of a 3 million naira. I don't know much about maintenance for the ford but I see so many people driving it around here, very clean and beautiful. Please guys, are there reasons why I should advise her to go for the more costly highlander and leave the ford?

Did people call this fake stories? My childhood friend is in Maryland, USA. His dad, I mean biological father was building a house for him here. He asked me to help him monitor the project in 2017 when it dawned on him that he had paid too much for a 4 bedroom duplex. To roof it, his dad gave him a bill of 3.5million naira, the guy asked me to take a roofing company there, they gave me a quotation of 1.8million which I think was on the high side. His father called me and told me not to ever step the project site again in my life. He said I am instigating his son against him. That's the last time I went there. I told my friend what transpired between his father and I, it was then he revealed to me that his father earlier told him that roofing the house will cost 3.5 million. I told him if he had informed me about his father's attitude earlier, I wouldn't have made attempt to take any roofer to the site. The guy actually abandoned the project and told his father to sell it off. It took intervention of elders in their family to resolve this thing I'm writing here. The house was later handled by an elderly engineer in their family for about 1.7 million naira. True life story, his biological father, my own friend. We attended primary, secondary and university together in Nigeria. This is a guy who sends nothing less than 50k to his parent every month o, so its not a case of a son who hasn't been responsible to his father.
