For the first part of this topic, go to https://www.nairaland.com/5647370/released-house-document-cousin-obtain My cousin's elder brother waded into the matter and he told his brother he has no intention of putting me into trouble and that he will be an ingrate if he fail to pay the loan since I assisted him despite subtle opposition from my wife. He later called to apologise for not fulfilling his promise to start defraying the loan right from October last year. He confessed that the weddings of his brother and that of his brother in law actually cost him much. He promised to start paying the money back today. True to this promise, we went together to the bank today and he transferred 350k into the account and also promised to pay 80k every week from February. The accounting officer further assured me there's no cause for alarm as payment tenure is one year which will start reading from March 1, 2019. I had to really pray and get my pastor involved, I couldn't tell my wife anything because she'll say she told me. I just pray he continue to pay, I learnt that if he is faithful to the 80k/week arrangement, he'll pay up everything by October. I thank you all nairalanders, I pray you won't enter wahala for being nice in Jesus name ooo. Thank you all. |
Good afternoon nairalanders, I thank you all for your concerns. After reading about half of the comments here, I nearly developed heart attack. As I informed you before, his elder brother moved into action by asking him some sincere questions. He made it plain to his brother that he didn't have the mind of putting me into trouble and that he'll start paying the loan back as from tomorrow Monday 27th January, 2020. He later called to tell me that he he will start paying the loan back tomorrow and apologized for all the stress he has taken me through. Meanwhile, I consulted with a friend in bank who is aware of the loan in the bank on Friday and he told me I have no cause to worry because the business was actually accessed very well and that it can pay back even more than 3 million naira loan. He also said that the one year tenure of the loan will start counting as from March 2020 since moratorium ends by February 29, 2020 and that the bank won't take possession of my property until after several warnings if he begin to flout the terms of the loan. I will update the house tomorrow, my cousin promised to pay back up to 600k tomorrow. I just pray he do, thank you all and God bless. |
uruba23:Honestly I had no fear as such until I heard from uncle yesterday. Uncle is buoyant, he is a businessman/contractor and can afford to part with 2 million, this he told me himself yesterday since he wouldn't want to use force to get his money from him but can I afford to part with a house I laboured hard to build for close to 8 years as a government worker? No! |
icon02:The things I'm reading here terrifies me. I just called his elder brother who knows about the loan and how I assisted him. He said I should calm down, that he will first ask him if he has started paying and then tactically advise him to start paying as from January ending as he promised. He also advised that I shouldn't fight him. |
I gave my house documents to my cousin to take a bank loan of 3 million naira but I like to retrieve my documents back because of the way he and his wife have been doing things since October, 2019. He is involved in sales of agrochemicals. He discussed with me on how profitable the business is but that he didn't really have money to put into it. The wife lost her job in the bank and had to join him in the business. Being a close cousin and friend of mine, I gave out my house documents to him as collateral and the bank actually came to do some inspection in my house and I signed some documents. The big issue now is that my cousin have not paid a dime back since August last year when he got the loan and between then and now he has done 3 parties that I'm sure gulped lots of money. The wedding of his younger sister in October, wedding of his brother in law in December and 40th birthday of his wife in January. These were serious lavish parties which I think could be done modestly. I asked him on Monday about the loan and he said his moratorium will expire in February and there's no cause for alarm. This is different from what he told me before I released my documents, he said he will have gone far in repayment even before the expiration of moratorium. I reminded him about this but he said there is no problem about his ability to pay back since the business is lucrative. I also discovered that one of our uncles actually borrowed him 2 million naira in 2017 which he hasn't paid back till now, he hasn't paid a dime back, I didn't do due diligence before releasing my documents to him. Uncle told me yesterday that he would have discouraged me from giving out my documents if I had informed him before the loan was granted. Uncle also told me that he disagreed with him about his clubbing and partying lifestyles as a struggling businessman but that instead of appreciating his concern, he and his wife fought him and boasted his 2 million naira will be paid back before mid 2018 but till today he hasn't paid a dime. Hope I haven't shot myself in the leg with this help which I think I rendered to a friend and family? The worst part of it is that my wife was not fully in support of my intention to help him then. Where do I start from good people? He promised to start paying by January ending, if he fail to do this, is it possible to break that bond and retrieve my documents from the bank? Can I tell him and the bank that I'm no longer interested in guaranteeing the loan? I'm afraid, kindly help. |
SLAP44:That's not the first time we are seeing this kind of thing. It happened in Zamfara State too. |
mikkyjagga1:Thank you all good people of nairaland.com. I and my siblings eventually discussed with our aunt and she agreed with us. We have been into how to get the boy into a federal university since October but very difficult, however we were able to get LASU and Ekpoma through the help of some good Samaritans that I spoke to. He will be resuming in 200level @ LASU when next session starts, this is much better for the boy, the dad and aunty. She's appreciative of the gesture but I must confess, transfer is difficult, almost impossible in the federal universities. Thank you all guys and God bless. |

Bose is an outgoing and sexually active young lady of 26, she got married to her hubby in November, 2018, they are now blessed with a big baby boy. She was my student and very close to me and my family during her ND and HND days. She is just like a member of my family. I know that she was involved with two guys then, one a student in the same school during her ND and the other, a businessman in town during her HND days. Her affair with the businessman didn't materialise into marriage because the man wanted her to get pregnant first, a proposal she vehemently opposed because its like a taboo in her family and her religious organization. That relationship broke and she met another guy who I didn't really know in 2017. She told me that the guy was easygoing and fun loving too so I didn't really had much advise to give other than the normal talks about being of good behaviour etc. They got married in November 2018, she relocated to live with her hubby in Abuja, now they're blessed with a very big baby boy. She visited me with her baby last weekend when she came to attend the funeral of her uncle here in Ondo State. She stayed in my place. It was then we really had time to talk. She told me that her husband believes so much in some archaic things that is affecting her badly. For instance, he doesn't believe in the use of Air Conditioner because it is carcinogenic, he had sex with her last the day he realised she was pregnant in January. She said her hubby believed having sex with a pregnant woman will hurt the baby. She put to bed in August and since then nothing has happened because the hubby said no sex until breast feeding is over so that the breast milk will not be contaminated with semen. I have been laughing since then but its not a laughing matter. She said this guy is so serious with these wrong facts and is not willing to let it go for anything and that she had engaged him in discussions over this many times with the guy sticking to his points. She said the guy is so caring and the way he dots on her and the baby is out of this world. He hired a nanny for her. the nanny followed her to Ondo State for the funeral and stayed with her in my place. Honestly, I haven't heard this kind of thing before. I told her I'll post it on Nairaland and she said I should go ahead and that she will be interested in reading people's comments. I actually admonished her not to look the way of any other guy or be involved in extramarital affairs as that could lead to problems she won't be able to handle. She said that is almost impossible in the environment she lives in Abuja and the way her husband dots on the family. Good people, kindly advise please. |
I live in Akure, Ondo State, I can bet it that APC will win the next election in the state. But it'll be thorough outright rigging and serious vote buying. PDP in Ondo State as of today cannot on its own raise N1billion. |
For your information please! So Far...... Senator Smart Adeyemi = 80,118 votes Senator Dino Melaye = 59,548 votes Margin between Adeyemi and Melaye = 20,570 Registered voters in 53 polling units where elections were cancelled = 43,127 Senator Dino Melaye could as well say goodbye to the senate except a miracle happens. And remember that Governor Yahaya Bello who swore that Dino Melaye will not go back to the senate has now been empowered to really have time for Dino. Cheers. |

majamajic:Exactly what the LASTMA guy did for me. That Berger place we normally use to drive down to join Ogba-Agege Road, I didn't know they have now reserved it for only commercial vehicles. No signpost to show that, I just drove in like that and this LASTMA guy who was looking at me while trying to turn that way just ran after me to stop me. I quickly reversed to go back only to be blocked by an oncoming commercial bus (danfo) just before I could hit the express. This guy insisted I must go to LASTMA office to go and pay 30k or so or I negotiate with him. I actually wanted to go to their office but the danfo guy advised against it and pleaded with the officer to collect just N500 to let me go. He refused, the danfo guy left me there and I started negotiating on what I didn't buy. He collected my 2k eventually and told me this is "owo amala". Stupid guy. I still had encounter with FRSC and Police that same day but I was able to beg them to be freed. The way roads are changing to one way or for commercial vehicles only in Lagos ehn, I have stop driving to inside Lagos o, for 6 times now since July, I have been packing at a RCCG Church where my friend is pastor in Ibafo and took taxi. I'm tired about incessant harassments by traffic officers in Lagos. |
The only thing that Lagos Police, LASTMA, VIO and FRSC knows how to do is to chase me upandan for not having one nonexistent paper or passing through wrong way whenever I'm in Lagos, to the extent that I have stopped bringing my car to Lagos. So petrol tanker without brake can move freely on Lagos roads, mumu nonsense people, God punish you especially for my 2k wey LASTMA collected at Ojodu berger in July for passing wrong road wey they never tell non-Lagosians before... |
A court will vacate that expulsion order and reinstate the student. thank God Femi Falana is Sowore's lawyer. |

arcOluwasanmi:I cherish this suggestion so much, you're blessed. |
mikkyjagga1:May the Living God bless you abundantly. I never thought about this possibility. I remember that as a university student many years ago, one of my friends actually transferred to our school from a university in the north. I'll tell my siblings to let's advise her on this even though it may not be easy, its not an impossibility. |
Great ride men |
How wise is my aunt please? She put her son in a private university when her monthly income is less than 80k and is now seeing all of us as her problem. Her husband who is a secondary school teacher told her point blank that the boy should rewrite JAMB when he didn't meet up for admission into a federal university in 2017 but aunty was adamant, saying his mates will leave him behind. Now its difficult to pay fees and she expects all of us, myself and my siblings to be donating part of our income to her. How far can she go in relying on donations from people who also have their own responsibilities? What can she do? The boy is going to part two now and the fee of about 800k is not forthcoming at all. It wasn't easy paying for last session. They have two other children in secondary schools. I want to advise her to withdraw the boy and let him try federal university again but my wife is cautioning me that aunty may see me as someone who is not wishing her well. What can I do? |

pocohantas:Well, you may be one of the small 10% who were so lucky to have it that way. I know a federal government institution where about 80 graduates were recently employed, all of them were nominated by one big man or the other. No one was employed there on merit only, OK! |
You want a good job, just get a good godfather, simple. Resume ko, resumption ni! My friend graduated with a first class, did Masters and already enrolled for a PhD all because he couldn't secure a job. His university told him no vacancy meanwhile they employ every month. We tried to link a particular traditional ruler from the southwest and in one month, he was employed as an Assistant Lecturer in the same university that have told him no vacancy since 2016. Stay there dey carry resume around looking for jobs that don't even exist. |
mysticgal:Thanks dear sister and God bless. |
chiommy123:Hoooo. Why should I stop her from buying hers? She is insisting I must pay the 29K. I have told her I'm not paying a dime, she can go ahead to buy hers. I'm not even going to send anything to the celebrant because I've made up my mind not to attend. The celebrant is the same person who packaged the inferior clothing material that washed away late last year, I must do this so that they won't make attempt to extend such to me in the future. This is obvious fraud and my wife's stubbornness on the issue annoys me a lot. |
What is this thing about clothing for ceremonies. I don't buy aso ebi, in fact I hate it. I will wear whatever dress I have to attend your function. But there come instances when you just have to buy. My brother in-law got married late last year and I had to join them in buying their aso ebi only to discover that the dress they sold for 7.5k is just 3k in the market and the dress faded on first wash. I told my wife that she forced me to buy it. That one is gone. Now, they are planning a funeral programme again and my wife is telling me I must buy their clothing material again. The dress, mine and hers will cost 29k, I got small sample of the material (for male and female), gave it to my textile dealer friend and she told me four trouser length of the male material will cost 6k, while the one for women (wrapper and head tie inclusive) will cost 13k making a total of 19k. I told my wife I'm not buying but she has been on my neck since two days now. How can someone be extorting me just because they wanted to do funeral? What kind of family thing is this? I'll cough out 29k in this Baba's economy and still give financial assistance to the woman whose father died o. Why are our people like this? Still standing my ground while my wife is still insisting I must pay even till now. The funeral comes up first weekend in October.

akelicious:And PDP will win quietly jeje. Akeredolu is a No,No, No in Ondo State today. The greed of his wife, her loquaciousness, her unguarded statements, her insulting tendencies, her superiority mindset over Ondo State indigenes, her selfishness, her clannishness and the political vindictiveness and naivety of AKETI himself has destroyed his chances. If APC field Akeredolu, members of the party whose political career was truncated by the governor in the last election will team up with PDP against him. AKETI succeeded in sending 2 senators and 6 members if house of reps back home in February because of his anti party activity which help PDP to use the cracks in APC to launch vicious attack on the party and get a small lead over APC, those guys are ready to pay AKETI back if APC field him. The Tinubu boys in the state APC are also ready for their pound of flesh. Senator Boroffice is firmly in charge of his 4 Akoko Local government councils. The senator won his reelection to the senate with a little margin because apart from opposition from PDP, AKETI sponsored Dr Tunji Abayomi against him on the platform of AA, the senator will definitely support AKETI superficially but his teeming supporters have vowed to work against the governor. I hate PDP, but I can conveniently say that PDP has a greater opportunity to win the 2020 gubernatorial election in Ondo state. If AKETI decides to contest under another party just like Senator Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state who sponsored his godson under APM, that will make the election easy for APC who will now use strong hand of the federal might to curtail the governor and win just like they did to Amosun. |
Ogun + Oyo + Osun + Ondo + Ekiti = 76320KM² Lagos = 3345KM² Niger alone = 76363KM² Niger State = Entire Southwest States - Lagos Anambra + Enugu + Abia + Imo + Ebonyi = 29525KM² Kogi = 29833KM² The entire southeast is a little less than Kogi State only The north have more than enough land to take care of RUGA, let it be that way. |
