IbeOkehie: Those asking why NLNG sells in dollars...it's a matter of law and regulation. I'm not sure of all the particulars, but generally there are two legal kinds of gas in Nigeria -
1) Domestic or domgas
2) World gas
NLNG was formed to service the world market Because NLNG is controlled by PRIVATE investors AND the world market price of natural gas is UNREGULATED, the company has been a great success. NLNG has been the most profitable company on Nigeria for decades.
Side note - it was President Babangida that put the reforms in place to make NLNG possible. It was supposed to be a fully owned Nigerian government company but IBB chose PRIVATE led investment structure as under SAP policy.
There's a 100% Government owned company called Nigeria Gas Company that handles the DOMESTIC GAS market, which is is PRICE REGULATED and subsidized. They're the ones who are supposed to supply cooking gas at a subsidized and affordable price. 🙄
Do I need to say any more? Nigeria Gas Company is an inefficient, corrupt and moribund entity just like every other thing owned by government.....Ajaokuta Steel, Federal Universities, NIPOST, NNPC , Federal Mortgage Bank, TCN that suppresses electricity supply...and on and on.
It appears that NNLG is taking over the functions of NGC. Socialism, price regulation, subsidies and government ownership is KILLING NIGERIA.
The ONLY solution to the Nigeria Crisis is FREEDOM...frre markets, socio- economic and political freedom. That's all. Do it or die, nobody is begging you.
Good Luck to Nigeria. It’s refreshing to read your inputs on this space. I have gained some good valuable knowledge and insights doing so. Thank you. |

pansophist: Yes. I have been saying this here for long. The immaterial are what actually matters, and material wealth are complimentary.
A wealthy woman that is not sexually satisfied will go get it from a broke boy that has dedicated his life to knacking as a calling
Big man will park his car to go to the ghetto to meet iya alagbo to give her better herbal medicine. Though he is rich, he needs the service of a poor woman.
Rich folks are mostly wolves, very wise within themselves, and need those lower to feel respected, and to put their wealth in the spotlight becsuse if everyone are rich, then no one is rich.
A governor that is wealthy and has access to unimaginable funds recently passed away. So time was actually his greatest wealth, and poor man has it in abundant.
Or all these rich western people that yahoo boys are exploiting becsuse they need companionship. Their big houses, money, and financial freedom could not fill the desire for love and to be loved.
Life is lived immaterially, money just makes it more interesting.
etc. I think this is the picture Ecclesiastes 1:2 is trying to reveal if you look at it holistically. |

kabanayol9: If you have been through storms of life and you overcame there is no way pride will enter you. I am talking from experience though una fit correct me, if two friends are striving to make it, if one finally does, why is it that the one that made it 95% of them forgets the other friend who is still struggling, an helping hand is okay, a situation you yourself had experienced. No come dey ask me who i don help, i am almost there but still do the little i can afford to help. Life is vanity, we hold too much to what we can never keep, we all see lessons from life but daily we ignore. Anyways last last, we will all be successful, timing differs, each day we wake up, there is hope 100%. Don’t you know that the rich also cry? Relax man, nobody has it all sorted out. Life challenges can never be solved absolutely rather they only transform from one form to another. How did I know this? Listen fam, looking back I remember praying and brainstorming on a stead to be where I am today. Now, on getting here my priorities have changed in pursuit of more. So you see, human needs are insatiable. It’s an unending cycle. But at a point you’ll realize that what actually matters in this life are basically immaterial in nature. |

pansophist: I don't have a new plan, just a continuation of the former plans laid down over fifteen years ago. So I'll just keep strengthening myself and looking for shortcuts, to achieve this old plan very quickly. Whats the plan you may wonder? The plan is freedom. I want to be as lazy as a slay queen, and still ball and live the good life, with me and my family.
And that's just one of the grand plan. The others? Personal. Even if a surgeon tear my heart out, he won't know it Investment that yields returns without actively being involved in the daily ops. Just like the popular saying “making money even when asleep”. That’s the only possible way to achieve some level of freedom in this capitalist global system. I’m a freedom seeker too. SSpeter: It is toxic to be lonely, data on health science shows that you are very much likely to suffer from dementia early also you are more susceptible to HBP and other age related memory loss. It takes great effort to achieve equilibrium when you are lonely. You can get solace in your pet or other addiction but these are not substitute for humans...talk therapy is becoming a gold mine in developed countries and recently in health care business consulting (where I have done a bit of work lately) mental health is pushing a lot of young people out of work...the number cause of a mental health challenge is loneliness Good points you made. People in an abusive/toxic relationship suffer worse fate than HBP and dementia. Albeit, for clarity sake I’ll like to understand your standpoint on this without mincing words. Are you a proponent of being in a relationship even when the union is detrimental to your overall wellbeing? |
Celebrities › Re: Why I Am Single At 41 - Ini Edo (Video) by wwwtortoise(m): 9:56pm On Dec 26, 2023 |
SSpeter: My data is from clinical psychology, I am sorry I cannot get the link at the moment, it was a Canadian article on mental health written by Jordan Peterson, you see after 45 there is a high tendency that your former colleagues and friends are either married or are in one form of relationship or another. Furthermore, at 45 our bodies begin to go through another biological phase and we tend to crave companionship. It is not about wealth or not, when I worked in Nigeria I knew very few people who were over 45, had loads of money who were not married but they used their jobs as their companion but at that point you are already close to being an executive with about 60days of holiday, paid vacations but you still see them come around the office. Loneliness at that age is depressing, you cannot shake it off with clubbing or partying unless you have addictions ( drugs , alcohol or womanizing) which are not generally acceptable characters. Even TaTa of India that has never been married said family is what he misses most and he found companionship with his dog. It is what it is Fair enough. I quite understand that humans are social beings hence the craving for companionship and all. However, it boils down to individual peculiarities as I outlined earlier. There’re many boredom/loneliness coping mechanisms people engage in that doesn’t involve emotionally bonding with another human. Could be with pets, booze, drugs, travel etc. Bottom line is - better to be alone with peace of mind than be in a toxic/unhealthy union with someone else. |

SSpeter: No matter the peace of mind, after 45 it begins to get lonely. This happens to both black and white and that is why romance scam will never end, people are lonely and wouldn't mind paying a scammer for the fake attention. I have read interviews where the women said they had an inkling it was a scam but they were just too lonely and wanted a companion. So who exactly set this benchmark of 45? Please provide valid/verifiable data to back this your claim. So you know, individual preferences differ. Social status, belief systems, exposure, life experiences, . . . make it very difficult to generalize. |
