A little above 6k was debited from my access bank account last week. The narration read web services and I knew immediately that the card have been compromised.
I contacted my account officer asap and demanded he blocked the account without delay before further damage is done.
Please avoid POS transactions from random merchants.
And also avoid inputting card details on random websites.
As for Access bank and there porous banking security I reserve my comment. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by wwwtortoise(m): 7:10am On Sep 16, 2021 |
jedisco: Also, similar to my reasoning earlier, it's good to see our VP question banks regarding mortgage...
If there was one industry in Western, I believe does hold the potential to lift at least a million Nigerians out of poverty with far reaching implications for the state, it's the mortgage industry...
Lets take a well paid FG young worker for example... If that person wants to own a home today, they'd need to save for at least 2-5 yrs to buy land. Then they process papers >>> look for an architect to draw a plan >>> pursue approval >>> look for a builder >>> take the next 10 years trying to build an apartment block by block ... All this while, the person is at the mercy of the builder/architect as its not his field. Also, the well established builders are not willing to get bogged down on a single house for years I've seen well earning families struggle for over a decade to build their house. This impacts heavily on their disposable income for things like holidays e.t.c during that time....
Now compare th above to another system where Julius Berger discusses with the government for land title, builds standard apartment with facilities leveraging on the economics of scale, and put these up for sale. That same young civil servant goes to his bank and gets a loan of 75 million at < 3% interest (which he could realistically payup over his career), buys that apartment in a good area with a proper title, pays a little amount monthly (which most times is less than what he'd have paid as rent), has loads of spare cash for other things... With time, if the price of the house appreciates, he could even sell it, pay the bank their loan and have more money to go for a bugger one...
The government benefits with such a streamlined process... Building laws are adhered to, things like ground tax e.t.c are paid, with the right database, the government can target certain groups to support e.g first time buyers can pay little or no tax e.t.c...
Comparing the age-old buying land and building to tge mortgage system is like comparing cocoa pods to its refined components like bournvita, chocolates e.t.c... The mortgage system can be an economic miracle...
But then, the CBN could help in kick-starting that process by encouraging/funding credit rating systems... When you have that, the banks know who they could safely lend to.... The construction companies can then get to work Your submissions are pure facts. It only takes vital economic policies here and there to revive the country. |

jedisco: Hehe... Naira
Such transactions on the crypt0 space are done with stable coyns- you can then transfer the stable coin (using a cheap method) to an exchange like binaz and sell via p2p...
It has its pros and cons.... If not done properly, it could cause problems. Imagine someone taking a loan with bitc0in collateral whan it was at 60k cos they thought it'd moon... Moreso, using such loans to buy alyt coyns comes with added risk and not advisable for a someone new to this space...... Of course, there's also benefit... But then, such brings out the greed in folks and makes them chasing the top.
I'm contemplating it cos I believe from a fundamental perspective, bitc0in should go on a run towards end of year hence I don't want to sell my bitc0in... But before taking the bite, I'd wait for market confirmation first... Moreso, my ltv would be about 50% or less... And the loan would be used outside Crypt0.... The thing is that I’m still indecisive. I guess it’s best for me to just observe how the market will play out in coming weeks (for the majors). On the other hand, an e-friend on mine called my attention to something called Royal Q https://www.nairaland.com/6640664/royal-q-robot-trading-binanceWhat do you think about this crypto trading AI bot? |

BizBloke: Nah, it wasn't for a coin purchase. Used it to buy another digital asset: a domain name I want to flip for about 4-5 digits in 2-3 years.
I think there's no middle ground when it comes to interest rate vs LTV rates; the only platform I can suggest now (but not used thought) is Nebeus. They've got an adjustable LTV up to 80% for Flexible Loans. Perhaps you could look them up. I'll ask my folk for the one he used. jedisco: Interesting... Just looked Nebeus up.... The interface looks good and they mentioned being insured...
But I still can't understand your own....if you used USDT as collateral, what did u loan?
My plan is to deposit some Bitc0in, get some usdt... After 3 months, refund the usdt, withdraw my bitc0in and go into alyts... Will need some confirmation in the market though... 25-50% ltv is good for me... I want to sleep with my 2 eyes closed I have been thinking in this direction (accessing loan using crypto collateral) for some time now. Honestly I don’t feel like liquidating my crypto portfolio anytime soon. And on the other hand, I’m in need of extra cash to makeup for a pending project. This quagmire pushed my thoughts into the crypto loan line. A quick glance at nebeus platform shows naira is not listed on the currency drop down. My concern is because I don’t have a dom. acc. to facilitate usd/eu transactions. A penny for your thoughts. |
Car Talk › Re: Documents Needed When Buying A Used Car by wwwtortoise(m): 3:11pm On Sep 05, 2021 |
nurey: 1. custom documents fully stamped and check whether all things correspond like name and model of car, VIN and all payments were made. Mostly like 6 or more papers could be photocopy if multiple cars were cleared by one dealer but make sure it is a clear crisp document not faded crap and don't take the nobody will ask you for customer paper crap, it could spell doom or stolen vehicle.
2. CMR (computerized motor registration) original copy
3. Current insurance (original copy)
4. Vehicle licence (original copy)
5. Road worthiness certificate (original copy)
6. Plate number allocation (original copy)
7. Original proof of ownership fully stamped
8. You will collect two printed and signed documents a. Change of ownership document b. Receipt of purchase from previous owner
There are some other documents you may need like 1. Tinted permit doc 2. police report/doc of change of ownership/plate number/engine number (which we call vin)
make sure you see the change of ownership letter given to the buyer duly signed when he first bought it as Nigerian used except the car was bought as tokunbo then you may not need this.
Once the car doesn't have custom doc except it's a beetle and the documents have expired years ago, I suggest you stay away from such ride. Top of the day Nurey, Should I boldly demand for all the listed documents as I want to purchase a 9ja used camry05. Or are there new updates as to documents to demand in this year 2021 (considering the fact that you dropped this comment in 2015) Awaiting yours. |

- If people don't get reminded of my birthday, will they celebrate me?
- If I become bedridden due to illness for number of days or months, who will stay by my side?
- When I'm gone, what will people remember me for?

I can only advise or opine deeper when I fully understand what your operations, business scale, type, . . . entails. Best Regards. |

Kokaine: Please I have a new company and I need the services of a professional financial expert to guide me on what books I need to keep and what products to focus on. I manufacture electronics and power supply systems. I also do home automation devices locally. I need a business expert to discuss with for a professional fee on what to do, what to look out for, how to maximize profit and what books to keep.
I downloaded a software called QuickBooks but I don't understand it. Its not my field. I rather pay a professional now Keep a track record of all receivables (from customers/clients) and payables (to vendors/suppliers). Cashbook can be used to efficiently achieve this on a micro level; a general ledger for macro operations. You’ll need to maintain a statement of financial position (SOFP) which will capture your business assets, equity, and liabilities (such as loans, VAT, and Corporation Tax). You also need to structure your financial records in a way to reduce tax liability (tax avoidance) as this will come handy to cushion high operating and administrative costs incurred overtime. Quickbooks is okay but a cloud based integrated accounting software is more effective depending on your operation scale. - Account officer & practicing data analyst. |

To Whom It May Concern !
This once beautiful thread is spinning towards anarchy and clash of personalities. I saw it coming though cos where two or more intellectuals congregate disagreement is not far fetched.
However, the solution is to convince an opposing ideology with logic (provided he/she got clean trolling record) and not the usual -
“oh he’s got bluepill mindset”
“Ignore the beta simp”
The mistake y’all make is in thinking that everyone will agree 100% with your write ups.
Things can never work that way because each person gat peculiarities in real life from childhood, experiences, challenges, triumph routes, fundamental beliefs . . .
Hence, to curtail clash of ideology (which is not bad in it’s right), I implore all to filter nuances going forward.
Instead on shoving your concepts down people’s throats, drop baselines that can be developed and modified by individuals to suit their unique personality.
Like I said earlier you can never fit all man into a hole in an online platform. |
