Banning without alternative

I appreciate your logic, but education should be for trainable minds.

Those in their 50s, 60s or sooo layed back beyond educational repairs should have alternatives.

what happens to skill acquisitions, what happens to bringing them into Agro-value-chain , what happens to teaching the construction related skills. All this will not take them to the 4walls of the classrooms.

The collapse of Agriculture, Textile coupled with insurgency and voter card motivated birth is killing the north.

The truth is, those folks have found begging to be very lucrative and at such, there is hardly anything that they will find more appealing than begging...
The South will be the region to suffer for the ban.
In the coming days and months, the South will be witnessing the influx of more street beggars.
It's a pitiable situation...

Nigerians are just hopeless.
Supreme Court cases are decided by 5 judges, majority carries the vote.
That Justice Mary Odili read the lead judgement doesnt mean she's the one that removed the governor-elect.

She was not the one that read the judgement, rather she headed the panel of judges.

APC should accept the judgement.

Crime / How Northern Elite Created Banditry (Opinion) by XaintJoel20: 1:52pm On Feb 07, 2020
A study by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) put the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria to 13.5 million – as of 2018. An unimpressive mass of this number comes from Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, and other northern states.
In December 2019, Jigawa state government announced it would open a bidding process for the construction of 95 mosques across the state. This is a state with over 800,000 out-of-school children,
According to a survey by the Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria (ESSPIN), there are more than 800,000 out-of-school children between the age of three and 18 in Jigawa.
In Kano, there are about one million out-of-school children in the state. This is according to Peter Hawkins, the UNICEF representative to Nigeria, who disclosed this at a four-day workshop organised for commissioners and permanent secretaries from the 19 northern states in August 2019.
In Katsina, there are approximately one million out-of-school children. Though, Aminu Masari, the governor of the state, put the number at 996,000. Ditto Zamfara.
In addition, reports by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) reveal that the north-west region has the highest number of drug-related arrests in years, with 2,205 arrests in 2015 alone. A motion on drug abuse in the north adopted by the senate in 2017 disclosed that three million bottles of codeine were consumed by drug abusers daily in Kano and Jigawa.
Also, Mojisola Adeyeye, director-general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), revealed that 70 percent of the youth essentially, the young boys, abuse illicit drugs in Kano.
When you put all these numbers together what you have is chaos, banditry and kidnapping.
In June, 2019, the federal government said it was considering proscribing the Al-majiri system of education in order to tackle insecurity.
Babagana Monguno, national security adviser, who disclosed this at the end of the national executive council meeting in Abuja, said the ban is to ensure that no child is deprived of basic education.
He said Almajiris were becoming a prodigious problem to society, and that many of them end up becoming “criminals, drug addicts and willing tools in the hands of those who have very dangerous intentions’’.
But what happened when the government revealed its intention to ban this atrocious system? There was a piercing outcry from the north that it was an attempt at a religious ordinance they hold dear.
Afterwards, the government buckled under pressure and announced it was no longer going ahead with the plan. Yet the situation remains the same. But who does the current regime of child illiteracy and ignorance in the north benefit? The northern elite.
The only pragmatic reason I can advance on why northern leaders do not consider it as an emergency to end the Al-majiri system and to commence mass education of their young population is politics. They are comfortable with the status quo as long as they get power. It is to their advantage presiding over an uneducated population who can be manipulated and deployed for political ends.
Muhammad Sanusi II, the gadfly emir of Kano, whom I regard as the John the Baptist of the north for his vociferous condemnation of this disequilibrious status quo, is alone in his advocacy against irresponsible polygamy, Al-majiri and child marriage – practices the northern elite espouse.
The emir himself had complained about the northern elite whom he said wanted to silence him for speaking the truth about the region.
‘’Our colleagues and compatriots among the elite do not like statistics. Numbers are disturbing. I recently gave a speech in which I said the north-east and North-west of Nigeria are the poorest parts of the country. This simple statement of fact has generated so much heat; the noise has yet to die down. The response to this speech has been a barrage of personal attacks and insults aimed at silencing any voices that dare shine the light on the society to which we are saying Bring Back our Girls,’’ he said at a lecture held to commemorate the Chibok girls abduction.
Who will bell the cat? Why is there no sense of urgency on the part of the northern elite? Why is there no alarm? Why the deafening silence? What are they doing to seminally address the remote causes of banditry by their youth?
Now that banditry and kidnapping, brought on by the purposive disempowerment of the young population of the north by the elite, is threatening the peace and security of every Nigerian, I suggest northern leaders run the gauntlet. They cannot wish this away. Now is not the time for politics and pandering to sensitivities. Now is the time they tell themselves the truth; they created this Frankenstein.

..so, I was siting next to the Pastor's roll for that vigil. Everywhere was so quiet save for the preacher's gentle voice. Then came this moment when one Kain demonic breeze blew that made me doze off for few seconds. The next thing I heard was a thunderous sound that shook my chair and overshadowed even the voice of the preacher using microphone. Brethren and sistren in the Lord, I farted!
I couldn't deny it. It was so thunderous that it was the vibration that deported me from dream Land. I couldn't run out of the church, I was almost at the front roll. I couldn't enter the ground, I couldn't lift my head up. The preacher became silent and the once silent congregation erupted into murmuring and laughter.
I waited till it was time for people to start binding their village people in prayers. I jejely sneaked out and located one pathmos where no one could trace me. Immediately the vigil was over, I didn't wait till day break, I sneaked out of the church like a thief.
The trauma of that shame is s hunting me till date. I can drink one #300 coffee anytime I am going for vigil.

You are very funny.

I am laughing out loud.

A Facebook user, Sly Idoko has exposed the unprofessionalism of the Nigeria Police Force in handling the case involving suspected suicide Nathaniel Samuel. According to his findings/research what Nathaniel Samuel had on him was not IED as the police would want the world to believe, but "indoor wedding electric sparklers".
Is the Nigerian Police also playing ethno-religious politics?

Read his text.

"It is a pity that the Nigerian police cannot come out and tell Nigerians what exactly the young man they arrested in kaduna had on him. This clearly shows how Irresponsible they are,so tell me how any foreign govt can trust them enough to share intelligence with them when they play to the gallery with every issue. I watched the press conference with the young man and how police were trying to make him change his story that the items he was arrested with were given to him by a certain lady and this was after the young man made it clear to them that it was fireworks in the presence of newsmen. It is obvious to me that the policemen were much more concerned about playing religious politics with this young man's predicament by trying as much as possible to assert that he is a Christian and not bothered about explaining to Nigerians that he is innocent. He simply became another pawn in the usual naija ethno religious politics.
But what I found most disappointing is that the press focused more on his name and religion rather than the nature of the items he had on him when he was arrested, that says a lot about the level of unprofessionalism in the press lately but that's a discussion for another day.
Well,I did a little digging and found the product online. The first photo attached here shows the items the young man had on him and the second photo shows the same product displayed on a website as "indoor wedding electric sparklers".This is the exact item that the police are having difficulty explaining what it is?
#Shame"

Funny stories

When I was serving, there was this town girl my partner met and invited to our lodge (A 3 bedroom flat). I suddenly started hearing her moans and knew something was up.

Immediately after their sex romp, I heard a knock on my door and I saw the girl standing almost naked (my partner was freshening up); with smell oozing all around her, she said " Corper, na you I like o, come quickly do before your partner comes out". I've never been so disgusted.

God save us from karashika.

This cracked me up.

Crime / Arizona Man Dresses Up Skeleton To Drive In HOV Lane (Pic) by XaintJoel20: 2:45am On Jan 28, 2020
A driver in the US has been caught trying to disguise a fake skeleton as a passenger so he could use a high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the 62-year-old was pulled over when an official noticed the skeleton, which was wearing a hat and tied to the passenger seat with yellow rope.
The driver was given a penalty ticket.
The department told AP news agency some 7,000 drivers in Arizona were caught violating HOV rules every year.
In a post on Twitter, it warned others against trying the same tactics.
"Think you can use the HOV lane with Skeletor riding shotgun? You're dead wrong!" it wrote, referring to the fictional nemesis of He-Man in the Masters of the Universe series.
It ended the post with the hashtags "#NiceTry" and "#YoureNotHeMan".
The post was accompanied by a picture from the car, showing the fake skeleton with a camouflage bucket hat pulled over its eyes.
The Arizona man is not the first to have gone to extreme lengths to avoid rules preventing drivers with no passengers from driving in particular lanes.
Last April, a man was caught driving in an HOV lane with a mannequin wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, AP reports.
