I don't think it is due to lack of fund but lack of readiness. Perhaps the Ogas @dtop ar not yet ready to upgrade, which can be deduce 4rm d fact dat Gulma too did not show any sign of upgrade (just as tdayof noted). When they are ready, the sky is their limit.

Note that it is not just Gulma that seal fate of NAF in 1st position. They also built a bomb disposal robot and some kind of machine that teaches u how to drive.

Nigeria Army built a kind of multi-purpose hydraulics for lifting diff bombs which did not not gain much attention as the Russian made rocket launcher on it.

What areas did you and the Drone pilots touch/talk about.

Lol, seriously I know I could have done better but my smart phone recently pack up so I had to ask strangers to take the pics and send it to me through bluetooth. I may still go there on Friday, I will try and get more and better pics.

I asked one of the pilot whether the drone could fly at night and he said it could. He added that the drone has infrared camera. He told me every part of the drone was locally built (except the piston engine) and I actually saw the video of its making from scratch.
Come see as old men just they ask whether truly the drone can fly without pilot inside even after watching video of it flying. I am sure some of them went home believing they are lying.

I visited Eagle Square today to witness the untapped potential in Nigerians ranging from mouth gapping Primary School projects to more sophisticated projects such as 3D Printers, cars, tractors, agricultural equipment, aeroponics to mention a few. In fact, I saw a satellite rocket launcher.

Most importantly, I interacted with Gulma Drone pilots and they educated me more about this elusive drone.
In the end, I had to give them thumbs up for a job well done.

Joke apart, India's economy is far ahead of Nigeria's. They are ahead of us technologically, medically and militarily (they av nuclear weapon for f*ck sake). We can only dream of their defence industry. They have more billionares than us. Only last month they broke world record by launching more than 200 satelites at once into orbit. They have a viable and reputable car industry.
But due to their population (1.2bn people) they have high poverty rate and are also afflicted with some very backward thinking.
