deedee44:Jee weez, uhm, maybe because its wrong |
Mukah1234:This was my case, the best price I got for a non accidented 06 Civic was 1.9... before my Eureka moment and I went for the Volvo S40... You'll get a Civic 04 or 05, Mazda 3, VW Jetta 05, Hyundai Accent/Kia Rio 07 08, Hyundai Elantra 05, if you're lucky you might get a more recent year. Maybe Mazda 6 as well. All toks Research those cars, online, YouTube, your mechanic. www.edmunds.com www.carcomplaints.com for durability review then search jiji for parts so you get an idea, call some of the sellers and make enquiries. 1.5 is good enough to enter with and you'll be alright. Best of luck |
deedee44:U ought to cast it |
radautoworks:I really don't know how it is the way it's, but, it is the way is and most importantly to me, I trust my source and I didn't have any issues whatsoever while using em... Maybe luck As for your price, hmmmm, I take your advice, let's not talk about it. |
tunlapapa:They discuss on their own groups oooooooooooooo. They can't come here to discuss it na |
radautoworks:At the time (2019) the $ was 360 or 380 I think... But then again things are generally like double or triple the "street" price at your's. These are prices from 3 different sites as of this morning. I trust these sources, except jumia.
|
tunlapapa:Those in those professional fields share and compare remuneration packages on their own groups. There's no reason why a banker will post his earnings in e-hailing group. AND learn to make your point without casting aspersions sir |
radautoworks:I actually asked at your place once and was told 46k or so. It did get me thinking for a sec but I trust my source and I never had any problems while using it so no harm done |
The point is, make everybody face him front. Do what works for you, simple. Na this thread person post pictures of himself in Dubai, he got bashed, same way someone stated his rent and got unsolicited advice, me too, some people are waiting for me to cry about my Volvo being used for Uber. Nobody said congrats. It's been a month and I'm loving it everyday. I used to work long hours before, then I evolved to starting 6 and closing 6 or 7 now I start around 7 and close 4 cos I have to pick madam in VI yet I still hit my target and once I hit it I'm good. I see drivers parked gisting but I have never and will never join them but I have also never come here to call any of them lazy. We all have different goals we're pursuing and as long as the pursuit is legit, by all means go ahead. The sooner we understand that it is a public forum as pointed out and nobody has the right to legislate for the other person the better for all of us, because then interactions can be constructive. Logic should guide our actions and interactions and not emotions. Airing your differing opinion is fine but e no mean say I must take it. I don waka |
BAZ001:Problem is, someone says something most folks here don't agree with, BOOM ... Insults. They bully the person into silence. Check the people that comment on a regular here, it's pretty much the same set of people and they generally agree on things, the older handles don't comment but I see them viewing the thread. Many still drive but they no get time for some of the things wey people de talk here. When newbies come and read the thread imagine the orientation they're greeted with. Cheerfulgiver however is not afraid to go up against anybody and he comes correct, however this is the result, clearly nobody has a monopoly of these things. People must understand that it's okay to disagree after all even twins have differences form time to time, but the manner in which we express our differences is important. If you have to resort to insults then I don't think you have anything to say to me cos our levels are clearly different. Imagine if someone said "it's nice that you're making so much and trying to motivate people, but because of security reasons it's not ideal as it can make drivers targets". But Una no go follow that road, na abuse straight. I remember farenz did same and y'all ran him out of the thread, but I said it that that guy's posts made me reflect and sit up cos I see say man must stop play and get serious. Imagine if he didn't post that time, maybe I'll still be doing rental now. I posted something recently, it was meant to inspire people but as usual, people started making stupid insinuations and asking silly questions. Thankfully some people mailed me and I shared the little I could help with. It doesn't in any way reduce my earnings. I now the number of people who ask if this gig is profitable and y'all discourage them, to what end? How many trips can you do in a day sef. If I get 10 good trips a day I'm good. As long as I gross my 20k daily and thankfully I am, even with the "e don cast" anthem here. Now I even close around 4 5 except weekends when I push a little more. We rise by lifting others, and it's the insecure and inferior that feel threatened at every turn. Face your front sha |
CheerfulGiver:This time

Shanid:Go with Coastal 5w30 or what I use now NordKapp 5w30 full synthetic. It's 12 per 5ltr jug but I get it for 11k since I buy the carton of 4 pieces. Better still, use Liqui-moly, I used it previously before switching to coastal... My mechanic used to give me at 16k a gallon. Theses are oils I have used in the past or currently using.
|
CheerfulGiver:I see you don't play with the bonuses. Way to go |
CheerfulGiver:How you pulled up on the thread. Was going to pm you but I thought "you sef come out with your full chest", so I did. Btw na me like all those your posts
|
yommytino:It is |
yommytino:Fram I buy from partboyz at Ikeja. Oil too https://www.partboyz.com/product/original-fram-ph7317-oil-filter/ https://www.partboyz.com/product/coastal-synthetic-blend-motor-oil-5w-20-5-quarts/ I usually buy a carton of 3 gallons, I get a discounted price for that. Speaking of, I have 1 gallon left from my last pack if you're looking to buy... I'll give you a discount |
yommytino:That's what I've been using. If you ask me, go ahead. Ps. Mr Glen doesn't rate it at all but didn't listen and I never had any issue with it. Apologies for name dropping Ma'am. |
Babadee1900:Lol... I see what you did there o |

shollywendy1:Ok |
DeleTheD:It was a stop gap car. Plan was to use it for a year and upgrade. I made points as to why the civic presents a better value proposition, I thought that point was clear |
shollywendy1:A 06 Civic DX and 06 Civic EX are same car same year but their prices cannot be the same. E get why. I didn't buy it high, it was an 06 and I'm sure same way I saw it on jiji is same way I saw others. I wouldn't clearly see a better proposition somewhere and still insist on paying 500k extra. At 2017 demand push inflation had hit the corolla and it was as overpriced as it is today. At its current price do you think it's worth that value? Anyhow, the point of my post is not to say the corolla is a good or bad car. Make of my post what you will... I don waka |

flam5:I see that... It's very interesting |
Hi, please which brands of 5w40 do you have and how much is it... Thanks |
Pearl1910:I addressed all 3 factors you pointed out. Cost of startup is integral cos that to a large extent influences your break-even point. If I enter at a lower price point than you with marginally higher operating cost, I will most likely break even before you. For perspective, it will take me 160 days of buying petrol of 5k daily to spend 800k on petrol. Parts of the S40 as far as I know are at par or cheaper than the Corolla. Plus build quality of both cars cannot be compared at all. Superior build quality usually translates to better durability. So make of these what you will. Good thing you know how much a corolla costs and I've shown proof of mine. Numbers never lie |
Pearl1910:Auto |
Pearl1910:Corolla was 06... I've stated it here before. I bought the civic for 450k and sold it after a year for 530. I bought it NAIJA USED and sold it after a year of e-hailing How much is the general going rate for a naija used 04 civic is a question you should ponder on. How much would have been a fair price for you? My thoughts on the Volvo being a superior car to the corolla is obvious. Their apec sheets tell the performance story. The corolla uses a 1.8ltr i4 engine producing 120 horsepower the Volvo uses a 2.4ltr 5cyl engine producing 168 horsepower. List of amenities on the Volvo can't be compared to the corolla, it smashes it. Appearance nko. All the corolla has going is fuel efficiency and honestly, I don't mind. How's that for disclosure?

I generally like to read comments here to amuse myself. I'll drop this here for people who can think. For context, I started e-hailing with a corolla, moved to a Civic 04 (dru23) and now I use a Volvo S40. In my opinion, the corolla is not worth the hype and the hassle. There's more to a car than fuel efficiency and I must say that the corolla is not exactly fantastic in this regard especially when you contrast it against the sacrifice of performance and comfort that you're making. In April 2017 my corolla was bought for 2.2m and sold last year for 1.230, that's a hit of 950k. In those 3 years, I changed the hub and suspension assembly, AC components, then it had a brain box issue later NO engine/Transmission issues. April Last year I got a used civic 04 for 450k, spent about 1m on it for the 1 year I had it. Oven bake, suspension assembly, AC, electrical ish and regular maintenance inclusive. I sold it last week for 530 without issues. So give or take a 1m hit. Got my S40 for 1.7. CLEAN civic EX trim was priced at 1.9 (that's the least I saw) Corolla, lol, we know how far so no need. While the S40 is not giving me the fuel efficiency of the civic or the corolla, performance and comfort is millions of miles ahead of the Japanese. My S40 is FULL OPTIONS, leather, power everything, parking sensors EVERYTHING and it moves like a dream. Add the humbling it gives riders when I pull up and they enter inside. Since I got it, no rider don talk rudely to me lol. Now the numbers. While the S40 is not doing the fuel economy of the corolla, it is 800k less to buy today. For clarity, my corolla was doing 1ltr per 10km, S40 is doing 1.15 per 10km. So that's Ask yourself, how long will it take me to spend that extra 800k on petrol? The parts of the S40 I HEAR are cheaper than the Corolla, I say I HEAR because I have not had to change anything yet. I know for sure that engine and transmission are much cheaper than the Corolla sha. So where exactly is the economy? The 2nd hand value myth, I have debunked several times here. Mind you, the figures for the Corolla was only purchase price. In those three years about 700k was spent on maintenance. Add that to 2.2 then subtract the price it was sold for. I didn't talk much about the civic because its own parts are much much cheaper than the Corolla parts, imagine changing complete hub assembly (hub, brake discs, brake pads, ball joints) for 16k. Compressor was 15k. Parts were cheap And they lasted till I sold the car. I primarily felt the need to post this because I adviced someone who had saved up 1.4 but was looking for a loan to add so he could get a toks corolla. I told him to take that money and buy a toks civic 04 or 05. He said na corolla or nothing, as he no see toks money, he bought a naija used and now he has his mechanic on speed dial. There's nothing in this business like driving your own car. If you have saved up something go and get a used civic, BE SURE to do your due diligence before buying, but I will tell you categorically that your risk exposure is less with the civic. You will make the same amount of money but you'll spend less. |
ehmmy11:It's 05 |
Got mine yesterday... In my opinion... Go ahead
