Empresa:It can happen anywhere! |
Dancebreaker:The issue is with messaging. Labour may deport more but avoid clear communication or taking a definite side for fear of being labelled as anti-immigrant, fascists, xenophobes, pro-illegals etc by left-wingers and right wingers. So, they are considered pro- open borders on sitting on the fence. To be fair though, both Tory and Labour have been very lax with immigration. One talks about it sometime and may do little, the other prefer to work mostly in the shadow sometimes. But voters wants someone who talks tough and can clearly choose a side and declare that "We have immigration emergency and I will solve it" instead of the one showing infographs on how many more they deported even though they can't be quoted to condemn illegal migration. It won't matter if the tough guy eventually make no impact, it is the choosing of a side that convinces the voters. I say, Labor, just like the American Democrats dug themselves into a needless pit and the conservatives or far right will milk it for years to come. The era of silent governance seems to be coming to an end in the west. It is all about showmanship now. |
It is not by force to give aids. The Houthis doesn't want it! |
Mariangeles:It is not my place! I praise noteworthy initiatives wherever I see one. It is funny that you expect a problem that took years to develop to suddenly disappear within a few days. The metric that makes sense at this early stage is whether the criminals are feeling the heat, the answer is yes. Reduction in crime is expected to happen gradually not overnight. |
Stammer is jittery. Immigration is the number one issue for UK voters. It won't matter how well Stammer performs. If he can't reduce the numbers, he is a goner in the next election. |
Ojiofor:The difference is that one has resigned to fate and accepted their lot. The other sees a way out and is pursuing it. |
NothingDoMe:How many European leaders have objected? Don't you know that Europe is heavily dependent on US security wise and US was the primary armorer of Ukraine. And with Trump in charge, it will be foolish for any to antagonize him on the Ukraine issue. Trump may overplay his hand and get Europe to launch its own home-based Security Treaty though. |
BiggandKlever:Trump doesn't care about any outcome. In fact, there would be no security guarantee in the peace deal. Trump wants the war to end at all cost because of local oil price in the US. Whatever deal reached will be just a pause until Russia starts another war again using "NATO" as excuse. If Ukraine is foolish not to develop nukes and missiles within the few "peace" years, it will be completely overrun in the next war. |
NothingDoMe:No, the decision is from Trump alone. Both Trump and Europe knows that Russia will start another war with Ukraine in 5 to 10 years time using NATO as pretext once again. There can be no security guarantee without NATO membership. But Trump don't care about anything not directly affecting the US anymore. |
ElSudani:Food actually disappeared from the market, that is, lower production/harvest. Call it whatever you like, lower supply leads to higher prices. And these current lower prices is food reappearing in the market, that is, higher production/harvest. |
OboOlora:This is the village mentality that gets many musicians career wrecked too early. A record label is not in popularity contest with any signed artiste. Stop confusing the two. |
It is true that nice English cannot win an election in Nigeria. You need money, godfathers and thugs. Failure to have at least two of those is automatic election loss. |
Putindbutt:Imo people have no right to protest. They have abandoned their state to criminals through sabotage and non-challance and cannot expect other state to do the same. The question to ask is what are "building engineers" doing among armed kidnappers? |
Pelicanbrief:Wow! When did kidnapping, killing and raping same thing as behaving themselves in the east? Or have you been living under the cave for millenia? Like a typical Ipob member, you suffer from pathological ignorance and engage extreme projection. Let me briefly school you on why using your environment to judge is the wrong approach. You have a human god(Kanu/Ekpa), Yoruba have no such and have never did. And contrary to your belief, Tinubu is not considered a god to be defended by the average Yoruba person. You believe in noise, Yoruba people believe in results. The real topic of your thread is why is it that you get attacked when you and your goons criticize Tinubu but Elrufai does the same and get away with it. That is essentially when you are in deep pain but you can't directly ask due to shame. Instead of asking directly, you instead adopt a superiority facade. Well, the reason is simple, you are politically useless to Tinubu, that is why Tinubu's supporters attacks you while avoiding conflict with Elrufai. If you politically switch position with Elrufai, you will also be "feared" by Tinubu's crews while you are useful. So, such difference in response has nothing to do with fear, hate, love, respect or envy or what have you. It is just politics. An average Yoruba person do not fear any body or group. Don't confuse your society with others. |
kettykin:Did you skip your meds? |
Bunch of noise making jokers. |
EXOUSIAng:Are you serious? Only a political neophyte uses governorship election to predict the presidential one. 2023 elections should have taught you that governors cannot force their party to win the presidential election. |
Rather than focus on the impending effects of Trump's sanction, you are here giving yourself a false hope. South Africa and not Nigeria is under sanction. And if you are as resilient as you claimed, your government won't be charging activist groups with treason over the same sanction. |
UHLmoving:It is a shame there is no reliable alternative. Glo is long dead when it comes to internet connectivity except in select locations. |
press9jatv:Nobody takes you serious. You are doing your pay per post job. I remember when you were hired by the other side. Tomorrow, you could switch side again. |
DONFRANSKID:Don't mind them. It seems they just learn the word. It is not as if they are better behaved. |
This political jobber is just wasting his time. Adeleke is getting a landslide in 2026. |
It is time to initiate an impeachment proceeding against Fubara for contempt of court and other illegalities. No governor has the power to selectively choose who can be a member of a state house of assembly. |
Justnation:Stop fooling yourself. There is no matter anywhere. If there is, state the court. The 27 members are the authentic Rivers Assembly member since last year. Since the Federal high court judgement, there has been no other other contrary pronouncement from higher courts. And no, Fubara can't determine who is or not a member of an assembly. |
tope777:Is this a cry for help or what? Fubara lost all his appeals and you spamming nairaland with ignorant points. How does this negate the fact that Fubara lost? |
Oko jumbo assembly doesn't exist according to the law and are mere impostors. Whatever it does is null and void. The dull Ikenga couldn't tell which of the appeals was resolved in favor of Fubara. |
tishbite43:You are not yet matured to comment on political. Impeachment is a process and not done via announcement. It is better to sit down and watch since you don't know what is going on. |
EmeeNaka:No need. Fubara will need another magic to present budget to his 3 friends in 2026. He will essentially need to set aside the judgment of the appeal court. Goodluck to him! |
hmm |
A person who represents himself in court has a fool for a clientSaid a wise American president. |
All these are grammar to confuse little kids. The authentic house as of today is the 27 member block. I read Fubara is trying to start the same case again from the high court to use a friendly local judge to sack the 27 members again. Of course, the judgment will be overturned again in higher courts but his supporters say, he will just withdraw from the case and start again in lower courts. Well, that sounds nice in theory, but judges are not idiots to be played like fools and Fubara will find out later. |
OChimex:It doesn't matter. I said poor whites will be happy to leave, you are talking about privileged white. How does this connect? |
