Christistruth02:Lukumi is a sectional name, in fact it may originally refer to a single migrant family of artisans from Ife. It was used in Benin only and became popularized as a result of slave trade. It eventually got overtaken by Anago in relation to slave trade too. As I said, different part of Yoruba land got different names based on circumstances, with outsiders choosing the ones that is closest to them. The only general collective name for Yoruba is Yoruba as a result of writings of early missionaries who borrowed it from Berber writer Ahmed Baba. |
Christistruth02:Lukumi is a sectional name. Yorubas have never collectively being called any other name apart from Yoruba. The people used to be called by the town or region they originate from. |
Kafirbigot:You seem confused. How does your comment relate to the fact that there is political division in Afenifere. |
Elusive001:Yes. Fasoranti and Adebanjo. Though Adebanjo was appointed by Fasoranti as successor but they split during the 2023 general elections by supporting different candidates. |
TimeManager:This isn't about personal issues and appeals but institutional strength and integrity. Any organization that grants the same rights to both current and ex-members has lost its reason for existing. ECOWAS is an international union and not ethnic enclave. It would have been better if ECOWAS pretended to renegotiate the trade deals with the ex-members and end up conferring them with most of the existing privileges than the blanket rights extended to ex-members. It cost the UK billions of dollars to leave the EU along with revoked privileges, but ECOWAS ex-members are making gains and keeping all membership privileges. |
Broveens42:Fake news. Iron roofing sheets in Enugu in 1758? Even London had no such roofs as at that time since Iron roofing sheet was invented in 1830. |
He should also be deported for harboring an illegal. Trump promised to deport illegals like his wife, he thought his own wife is special and won't be affected. |
Spineless ECOWAS still indirectly begging them. Ordinarily, there should be a new negotiation when a country leave an economic union. All UK's EU's privileges were revoked when it left, same thing should happen to those land-locked state and not appeasing them. With this position, ECOWAS just signal that it is a completely fruitless organization that offers no advantage to being a member. Any member that also wants to leave can now leave since all their privileges will be maintained. |
TONYE001:Wages are determined by demand and supply, not entitlement. There are millions of potential teachers and security personnel. Only the health workers are better off, since their pool is limited especially as they go higher. There is a great need for regulating bodies to look into this evil. The only evil here is the potential violation of minimum wage law. |
budaatum:That is how all empires are formed but it didn't guarantee their longevity. Give me the same startWho will give you the same start? it is never given but taken and paid for in blood. Many even fizzle out quick even though they started well. Are you willing to pay the price? and I to will Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth, but pity those I exploit for my blessings, especially if I kept exploiting, them, I think. No, you won't. Even if this were to be the 1st century, your reach will still be limited by either distance or competing powers. |
Sonnobax15:That means you don't even understand the consequences of the tariff. In fact, it is the "working" countries that have much to fear most from tarriff than others. |
Trump can do better. Trump promised millions, estimated to about 10 million, will be deported but with this 1 million list, he would be lagging behind Obama in deportations numbers but with much less posturing and drama. |
KnowledgePower7:You skipped an important part of history. You didn't learn how they got to the top! |
obinna58:A 3rd world war isn't happening barring extraterrestrial invasion. If you check the history of the world wars, it always starts as a minor conflict between long-term enemies not some rabble rouser acting tough within his own border or some former allies turning on each other. If you are still not convinced, who will be fighting the US, is it China, Russia or Europe? What would definitely happen is a full blown economic war and some possible realignment too. |
Nazgul:Everyday? Where did you get your numbers from? |
SalamRushdie:You are one of those who claimed subsidy is a fraud but end up crying when the fraud was removed and the price of fuel and everything skyrockets. |
oxygeng:This is like saying Russian invasion is a coalition of Russia and Belarus. We are talking about effective force deployment, not tangential support. Same will happen to Oduduwa Republic when Niger, Chad and Northern states invade her in the nearest future.Your geography and geopolitical knowledge is inadequate. There is nothing like northern states. Moreover, there is no future where Nigeria disintegrates and the Sahel countries becomes peaceful and stable enough to form coalitions. And this is the age of technology not sword fighting. |
madridguy:You are right. A country of 100 million couldn't handle a country with just 7 million people. DRC economy is also four times the size of Rwanda's. It is not as if Rwanda produces its own weapons, it buys from the same market as DRC. It is really shameful. |
wirinet:Jail is for poor peasants. |
PresidObi:So every death that happened in your village must be murder? Do you know the number of EFCC officials that have died since the agency creation? Do you think a murder investigation should be launched for all the occurrences? |
Jostoman:What is bad in freeing yourself before freeing others? |
HarunaWest:Keep making useless excuse. |
swaggerjack:See this white slave raging against his roots as occults. |
Jlow2:Why don't you free yourself first? |
mrvitalis:Funny. Business minded people move to where there is business opportunity. Do you think Onitsha people are lazy and ignorant compared to the migrants from nearby villages and town? Moreover, lazy and ignorant people are usually too poor to attract sustained capital from faraway locations. |
I suppose foreign currency is the way forward after EFCC started foolishly targeting event organizers rather than make money from the process. |
Rwanda/Congo scenario is similar to Russia/Ukraine. Both use the stupid excuse of "protecting" ethnic Russians/Rwandans to invade and destabilize a foreign country. If your people are not wanted in a foreign territory, you pull them out, not resorting to war of aggression to carve out another country's land through violence. Well, it is time DR Congo invest in killer drones, they are quite effective at beating rebels. |
Kobicove:Yes. It will work. If the passenger pays 5-10K fine per ride, most would abandon Okada and use alternatives. |
jojotemitopaz:Yes, each American owes 1+ million dollars. Are you shocked? BTW, stop comparing Nigeria with America economically. The USA has a dollar printing machine and is one of the most productive countries on earth. |
Abufo:So, the western allies were weak before Tinubu and couldn't help Boko haram but they became stronger following the "love affair"? BTW, are the western allies also behind the rise of terrorists ESN killing and kidnapping people all over the South East? Since all your favorite terror leaders have made Europe their hiding place, I supposed that is not too much a stretch. I understand your defense of Boko haram though, because it is expected that terrorists help each other to shift responsibility elsewhere. |
Maysdevices:Who released this one? We are talking about erroneous judgment, this one is talking about reputation. I supposed you are also being paid since anybody in their right senses would reason logically on a legal matter and not emotionally. |
