PresidObi:Typical dullard. Ooni intervened in the criminal case involving Afe and the case was discontinued. You don't expect every other aggrieved party to withdraw their civil suits. Dele has escaped jail but not damages payment. |
why not use the restart option? |
This post is based on ignorance. It is the character of a startup sector to be unstable. Startups go under whether through mismanagement, failed ideas or being outclassed by competitors. I expected the OP to state how he was defrauded but I guess he is angry on behalf of someone else. Investing in a startup is exactly like gambling. Only an idiot will gamble their money and then turn around to accuse the operator of scam. He claimed majority of the startups don't add value without telling us what value means. It will an aberation for majority to add value, whatever that means because only very tiny minority is expected to survive in the first place. So, steer clear of tech startups if you don't understand what you are getting into. It may be called an investment but it is more of a gamble. |
doyinbaby:That is just solar for charging. Even a powerbank already solves half of such problem. When people complain about power, it isn't just about charging phone or lamps. If you need electricity just for charging, then complaining is pointless as their are affordable alternatives out there. For example, someone who pays 20K per month for electricity would need at least 1 million for a manageable solar installation as a replacement. |
Mpanyi: ![]() Which constitution? You have drank too much koolaid. You are trying to defend what you don't understand. Well, I will respond for the sake of others. If the constitution is clear on issues, then the supreme court is redundant. The job of a judge is to interpret the law, not read out verbatim like alphabet. I hope you realize the implication of interpretation depending on the readers political view. The judges are loyal to their political views. Trump is not a conservative, he is an autocrat, so if he is mad at some conservative judges, that is understandable. It is normal that they see things differently on certain issue. Sure, the judges agree on simple issues, they all agree armed robbery is a crime and deserve punishment but that is hardly a political issue safe for how long an armed robber should be in jail. When dealing with contentious issue like gun ownership, hate speech, debt forgiveness, those are the issues that makes judge nomination and confirmation a literal battle. Because everybody already knows which position a particular judge will support. Maybe that was what you wished for America but it is not the case. They may not be perfect but their judges don't play politics with their jobs notwithstanding their political leaning. There may be a few exceptionsIt is not what I wish, it is the reality. That is why supreme court judges nomination are a fight to the finish by both parties. And a lot of lawyers engage in forum shopping to find liberal/conservative local judges depending on the case at hand. Have you heard of Row vs Wade and its overturning? Were the judges who upheld it in the first place against the constitution or was the overturning constitutionally wrong. |
ogaemma:You are very ignorant of the American justice system. Haven't you heard the terms liberal or conservative judges? America has the most political judge in the developed world, maybe even in the world. At least, Nigerian judges are loyal to who can butter their bread but American judges are mostly loyal to the political view of the person who nominated them for life. |
christopher123:It is all well and good that your Okun and Kabba friends don't identify as Yoruba. Now, have you ever seen anybody trying to beg or force an identity on such people through popaganda or even go to the length of bribing them to become the leader of a Yoruba cultural group? That would be an abomination and that is something you guys can learn. It is foolish to force an identity on a person who doesn't want. I hope you get my reference. |
Why not fight for Sharia in Kogi first before any other place? And since he is not a Yoruba man, what is his business with what happens in SW? |
NOETHNICITY:It doesn't matter. It is still driven by gun. When there is a lot of deaths around, it becomes normalized and fuels other unrelated killings. It is the copycat effect of widespread gun violence. |
NOETHNICITY:You are wrong, American violence is driven freely accessible guns. |
Mrexcell:Why not go ask the owners? |
BluntCrazeMan:I think you should direct your comment to the OP. If it wasn't a big issue for him, he won't create a thread about it to complain about ladies when the real culprit is his wife. And what is the point of suffering in silence when there is a simple solution? |
Dalohad:You mean cases don end? You never hear of a suspect. being sentenced? You never hear of final judgment from supreme court? You never hear of discontinuation of case e.g Dele Farotimi? We really have a long way to go in this country if we have a significant number of people who have no idea that all criminal cases eventually ends. Even political one like Kanu will end either in conviction or being released and bail money returned. |
tctrills:You miss the context. |
flyinnizam:Which drugs? HIV drugs cost 3 million per month without subsidy. Now tell me, how many people even earn more than 3 million per month in Nigeria let alone afford such drugs? Even in poor stricken rural areas, government hospitals still manager HIV patients. As long as the patients gets their drugs, what happen outside that is nobody's business. |
Why must you go shopping together. If you fund the shopping, then hand them a prepaid dedit card with the exact shopping amount and go find something else to do. If you don't fund the shopping, then you should stop complaining and avoid going together. Either you go or she goes. And if you share the bills, then have a special "shopping" account with prepaid card that is only funded to cover the agreed list. No extra money, no extra shopping. |
Obapluto:Yes, all cases eventually ends. Like Sowore's Treason charges under Buhari. |
psucc:The bail money is not free payment to the court. It is to guarantee that the defendants will not flee while the case is ongoing. The money will be returned when the case is over. |
SmartyPants:Countries rules of engagement and motivations are quite different based on the type of conflict. Israeli troops harassed French peace keepers in Lebanon, that doesn't mean Israel can wage a direct war against a fully motivated France. Nigeria army got routed by Boko haram very close to the 2014 election, many soldiers ended up fleeing the war. Until the SA mercenaries arrived to drive Shekau boys back and restore NA confidence in the fight. Does that mean Nigeria is no match for South Africa should the two engage in direct conflict? The Tigrays, who were very professional with years of fighting experience compared to the ill-motivated and unprofessional Ethiopian army were very close to overrunning Ethiopia's capital in the recent civil war but they end up losing. The point is you cannot use a country's record in unconventional war to judge its conventional capabilities. They require very different skill set. |
tctrills:The Russians were invaders and same with Rwanda. You shouldn't compare apples to orange. |
God1000:Which western country is currently supporting Kagame? |
SmartyPants:Army being professional isn't enough. It is a question of capability too. The saving grace for Rwanda is that South Africa does not want to escalate. SA military is better in every metrics than Rwanda. |
NSK4U:See the imbe cile. Just because some randos use it excessively on the net doesn't mean they know what they are talking about. Epileptic has specific meaning and I won't bother schooling you. What a smart person would have done is check the meaning of the word but for poorly educated folk like you ignorance is a badge you proudly wear. |
Ever since Yerima introduced political Sharia and got innocent people's hands chopped off in order to protest OBJ's elections, Nigerians have been very wary of Sharia promoters. I see they are now calling it Sharia panel and not Sharia court to disabuse people's mind. I have no issues with a licensed independent religious or non-religious body legalizing marriages within the ambit of the law. What I am against is such bodies dissolving marriages because it will be prone to severe abuse as the arbitrators are already motivated one way or another based on ideology. Any marriage recognized by civil law must be dissolved under customary or civil law. The fact that Sultan is defending Sharia court in the Southwest make the issue more political and suspicious. An independent Sharia panel should be administered by people from the region or locality and not some Fulani Emir from miles away. If it is being argued that these "panels" have existed for hundreds of years why are they being simultaneously "launched" in various towns across south west at the same time? What is the point of launching a panel that already exists and functions? Something is definitely fishy. For Sharia panels to be allowed in the SW, the admins must be very transparent about what they can and cannot arbitrate. We don't want people being dragged to "court" over offenses that doesn't exist in our civil laws. Because from history, such courts are always expanding their jurisdictions by taking advantage of the populace ignorance or laxity. Moreover, having the people subject to multiple court system is bad for regional and national cohesion. |
RaySimran:Why are you speaking for Trump? Trump is cutting and gutting welfare to primarily Americans. His foreign actions is just a side-effect of cutting government spending. If you know anything about the US, you would have recognized that Trump is implementing proto-libertarian policies of reducing government spending on citizens to the barest minimum. It is believed that everything should be left to private for-profit organization to run. He is even preparing to sack thousands of federal workers in few months time. Some of his freezes have even impacted the medicaid you mentioned. If Trump has his way, he will remove 100% of the government welfare spending on Americans, medicaid, medicare just name it. What has Tinubu's subsidy removal done to the commons who felt the brunts of economic downturn?Trump doesn't care about the commons, neither does Tinubu. Trump doesn't get excused just because of his white skin. So, stop drinking the koolaid and face the reality. |
RaySimran:Yes, Trump is retaining more dollars for his government use and Tinubu is doing the same for his own government on a much larger scale. Perhaps, you should have checked the meaning of epileptic before using it. It paints a poor picture to use "big" words incorrectly. |
Nnamdipapa:Go ahead and find out. But before you do, make sure you have evidence that you not been sleeping with other random girls. And if luck would be against you, and she is free of the kind of STI troubling you after test, then you have got a lot of explanations to do. I know you can get the Nigerian police to engage in so many absurdities but it is a two-way scheme. |
Connecting people to electricity isn't the issue. Will they also help them pay the bills? |
2special:Same way Tinubu knew most of the subsidy for fuel and electricity aren't getting to the people. Hence their removal. Next is to stop constructing roads since most of the contract money is stolen. How about stopping the payment of salaries too because of ghost workers? |
Magnetic010:Most of the aids are neither money nor received into government account. |
Spineless Zuckerberg. I won't be surprised if he shows up in a Trump rally someday. Well, it is profit first before anything else. |
