Dreal1247:Traditional stools have been bastardized. Cultists, drug addicts and even fraudsters can easily bribe kingmakers or use their political connections to get installed as a king. Misfits should have no place in traditional institutions. |
Simpleshafee:The judge could order the arrest of its chairman or freezing of INEC's asset but such a judge would be playing a dangerous game given Nigeria's political reality. And the orders may be unenforceable. |
royalamour:The damages is ridiculous given INEC's total budget. I think the judge made such to punish INEC for refusing to show up. There will most likely be an appeal with reasonable settlement. |
History555:Are you the army spokesperson? |
Ruke1989:Suffering from comprehension problems or you are playing dumb in order to defend Buhari the dullard? |
Fearurcreeator:Another retard with free data. Why don't you idiots just shut up for once? |
tctrills:Don't be an idiot. They have done nothing. The only way smart people measure progress is by result. Have the drugs stop flowing in? No. Have illegal immigrants stopped crossing? No. But Trump is too stupid to realize that nothing has changed. |
lapazi:Stop living in conspiracy land. There is nothing covert about USAID. Its operation has always been about US foreign influence or why did you think billions would be awarded every year? Russia is currently signing nuclear power deals across Africa, the aim is the same. Build as much influence as possible. |
Jagaban2012:Those group you are calling on have no standing in this case since the panels are civilian affairs and has no legal or government backing. Of course, we know their ultimate aim is a legal court with hisbah police enforcers but till then expect little pushback from most influential persons or groups. |
khalling2008:I agree. Sharia panels are private affairs, so everybody not interested should steer clear. But we know the end game is having legal courts, hisbah police and enforced Sharia over everybody. There will never be Sharia courts as advocated by Muric. https://www.bellanaija.com/2017/10/muric-sharia-court-south-west/ If you call yourself Omoluabi and go against the rights of Muslims in the South West, you are intolerant of Omoluabi. I have one message for those intolerant Omoluabi: when the shariàl panel is inaugurated in all Southeast states, you can relocate to the iPod region.Sharia court is not a right and has never been. Go ahead and inaugurate panels in every street corner, you can even have one in your compound, that is your headache but you are never getting the government to do your bidding. |
JNI, being led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, noted that Section 275 of the 1999 Constitution grants states the authority to establish Sharia courts, and by extension, Shariah panels.Ignorant Sultan trying to deceive people by calling it a panel. According to the constitutions, it is the states and not individuals that can establish shariah courts. Anybody can start a panel but it takes a government to establish a court. |
drstranged:The health personnel is facing zero backlash because she doesn't control what a patient does or say, only what she did. You can obviously see the lady playing subtly into the patient's antics. That alone can merit her a sack. No, it can't. What the hell does playing subtly means? Was she supposed to insult, slap, kick him or storm out of the place to show professionalism? How many female patients have you looked at the wrong way yourself? For example, if a female patient opens up her breast and vagina to seduce a doctor and the doctor acts inappropriately (no matter how innocent or harmless), you think it's the female patient that would get prosecuted? You think that doctor wouldn't lose his licence and get prosecuted? You are seriously lacking in proper use of analogy. The equivalent will be a female patient asking a doctor out in a creepy way and he refusing to react. What kind of sane doctor would accept such "seduction" and act on it. Says a lot really. Medicine is even more disciplined than the military. No it isn't. Apart from specific medical ethics violations or malpractise. A doctor or nurse will have to cross serious lines to get queried and getting sacked often involve acts that is criminal in the general society. If you ain't in the health profession to understand how things work, please don't comment senselessly. You are very dull. I won't want you as a doctor if I knew you personally with such a poor judgment. Anybody who watched the clip and concludes that the nurse deserve some punishment need their head examined. The idiot is lucky he did it in India and so can expect zero consequence. |
Earlystar698:Deal for the camera with zero impacts. He made similar deals in his first term, why did he abandon them if they were so great as he claimed? The idiot doesn't know what he is doing. |
Ladoja19:Landlord paying rent to who? I am not sure you are worth engaging in an intellectual discourse if you can't get a simple analogy right. |
I see many statistically ignorant posts above. Just because those in your circle engage in prostitution doesn't mean every woman out there does. |
Hmm |
drstranged:Victims of sexual harassment are not punished for being victims. The creep gets all the punishment if there is any. I wonder how you could be in the health sector and not understand the difference between a victim and an abuser. |
USAID was established to boost US's global influence but Trump is too dumb to know. He thinks it is free money to other countries. |
helinues:Which issue do you have with writing to seek permission from your councilor before you can go to the market or visit a friend? Yes, that is what CBN is doing to LG. The LG has constitutional right to financial autonomy as you also have constitutional right to freedom of movement without conditions or permissions needed. |
kissdabride:Did Obama stopped being a black man when he was the POTUS? No. So, a POTUS post cannot stop Trump from being a dumb illiterate. |
CoronaVirusPro:Where is the beauty. Oh, I forget she's got light skin! |
helinues:Supreme court pronouncement make it a constitutional right for LG. The FG is not doing the LG a favor! That is the position of the law. So smuggling an extra condition into it is nothing but bad faith on the part of the CBN. They are emboldening the governors by suggesting that the LG can't be trusted to administer their own funds. Then, where is the autonomy? |
quadraheem:The ones being recently launched have very different agendas. In fact, 2 locations in Lagos and there has never been anything concerning non Muslims whatsoever. Those 2 locations you knew are very different from what is being proposed and planned. That is why nobody cares about their operations. https://www.bellanaija.com/2017/10/muric-sharia-court-south-west/ Must we add politics coloration to everything?Isn't it political to try to subsume customary law with sharia law? Any group , religious or non-religious can setup arbitration panels as long as it is voluntary. It is a different ball game to try to hoodwink the government into enforcing its verdicts. |
The CBN request is illegal. Constitutional rights doesn't need extra permissions. States are not asked for audit reports before getting allocations, so it makes no sense to ask LGs for audit reports. The LG is not a person but an institution. The CBN is trying to pre-empt financial crime as a requirement for complying with local government autonomy. Even EFCC has no such power. This only shows that the neither the FG nor the states believe in LG autonomy, it is all political talks. |
If NEPA threatens you with a cutoff, it means your community contributes very little to NEPA's purse in comparison with its population. That means supplying light to your community is unprofitable for IBEDC. You guys could negotiate with IBEDC on practical solutions. |
DesChyko:It is not a waste of fund. That is the price to pay for a good product. If he needed more capacity, he will be looking at a million Naira investment. 2022 is a very long term ago to compare the price of imported devices. |
faceland:You didn't bother to research this power bank's capacity and longevity before regretting your choice of power station. How are you sure it can even charge your particular devices(not phones)? |
Jeezuzpick:What problem do you have with a person saying they are not Yoruba? What do you gain by forcing an identity on an individual who doesn't want it? His name is Moferewa Basorun, and he's not Yoruba!Identity goes beyond name. Moferewa says he is not Yoruba, therefore, he isn't. |
presido11:No, he is not from SW. Learn to read before typing. |
ebenholer2:So, you are comparing Rhamaphosa's matured writing with that of the illiterate Trump? What is there to understand in the rantings of a 5 year old kid in an adult's body? |
motymop:No, you don't know what you are talking about. If I ask for references now, you will be unable to provide any. even a top tech american tech company had to close its nigerian office because a Nigerian top management staff defrauded the company. You were all all over the place in your original post. Imagine ranting about programmers who allegedly works for Yahoo boys in a post that is supposed to be about startups. The too big to name American tech company is not even a startup and you didn't know that! It has to be brought it to prove a non-existent point. Once their business fail in fintech, they go after another trending wave like AI and get funding.BTW, the above quote is the line that gave your ignorance away. Startup founders are not kiosk owners who give up and go home to cry after failing, it is normal to pivot to another idea or multiple ones if the original fails. It is either someone forced you into a space you didn't belong and you are experiencing cultural shock or you are peeping through a window and filling in the blur images you see with imaginations.. |
This is why free guns is the most foolish "right" any country can grant its citizens. Mad people, the angry and the frustrated can easily be pushed into unwanted positions by virtue of easy access to guns. If he lived in Europe, he would have gone to the ex-wife's house either to fight with his mouth or hand and will calm down eventually and will still be alive. |
