AshiwajuFoward: Na their way. When BAT was putting down structures and machinery in place to increase Lagos IGR, they were deaf and dumb. Only to later start claiming credit when his efforts started yielding fruits. Now they have started claiming credit for Amosun's ingenuity in dramatically increasing the IGR of the state.
The million dollar question no one is asking is, why is it that it is only in other people's land their supposed high IGR impact is being felt? Abi dem swear for their states not to also record high IGR from their traders? Or all their state governors are just too incompetent? Na their way. If you read history, they hate paying tax and any of their governor who tries to enforce tax laws will be booted out. I am certain that most of them resident in Ogun are tax dodgers and the government is able to force a few of them to pay tax. |

Klinee: I don't know why many posters here keep referring this as solemnly Igbo agenda. The organization made it clear that this is not an Igbo affair, it's a coalition of different ethnicity in Nigeria and also foreigners. I think it is good gesture, I call on Federal government, all the state government to rally to the support of this agenda toward bring to an end the tribalism and non-indigenious discrimination in this country. It will also help to harmonize and detribalize Nigeria make us a well organized one country. We hope seeing a name like Emeka Okafor as a Governor of Oyo State or Kano State vice versa. You don't expect the land grabber to tell you his organizations aim. It is a politico-tribal group pretending to be apolitical. Seeing Emeka as governor of Kano and Oyo isn't a problem but we know the chestbeaters who always gloat about conquering others because they cannot allow such to happen in their own territory. A detribalised Nigeria will be possible when some people stop playing the victim card while at the same time claiming to be superior to other Nigerians. The identity politics that this group want to promote will lead to more tribalism. |

Sapiosexuality: I'd also like to see the end of the tag 'Agnostic Atheist'. It makes no sense. You are either an atheist or agnostic. You can't be both. Wrong, you are either an atheist or a theist. Agnostic is just a descriptive term used by people who are too scared to call themselves atheist even though they are practically atheist. |

Malawian: Yoruba people wanted to use the PDP Chairmanship position to bargain for a better working conditions within APC. Now, they have no option but to do as Buhari says. I dont even think PDP will win the next elections, but as it is now, Yoruba people do not have any bargaining power whatsoever, and Buhari is at liberty to drop them if he chooses. They know this, we all know this. You are politically naive, the Yorubas will still have a say in any Party that wins the election. You guys like celebrating incomplete victory. |

chronique: My question is this: why must a man always lose all or almost all of his properties to a woman during divorce proceedings? I think that law has to be abolished. There is no such law, common law prescribe equal sharing unless their is a battle over original ownership. Young men these days are having baby mamas and girlfriends these days who they just make babies with and they end up not getting married to them legally, so as to avoid things like this. At the end of the day, it isn't beneficial to the women as they have been reduced to baby making machines. Being married or not is irrelevant in the UK or US, if you live with a girlfriend for some period of time, you are considered married whether you had children with her or not. If I was that wealthy, I obviously wouldn't want to get married legally so as to avoid falling into such pits, considering the fact that it's truly hard find true love these days, and one can't tell what time the devil would enter into the heart of a seemingly good woman, and cause her to start misbehaving. If you are in Nigeria, It won't matter whether you married or not, the man is always favored but if you live abroad, the safest thing to do is not to have a girlfriend. My take is that the woman should be given a house, a car and a fraction of a man's money, during divorce. She should be given what would make her averagely comfortable and wouldn't make her suffer. But taking everything from the man, is just pure wickedness. I don't think the court just gave her everything, that is not how UK law works, the documents of the assets were likely to be in her name and as Eboue's asset manager she can prove in court that she owns those properties. Eboue was a fool for putting love above reason. |

AkhereOkaka: Bro is not easy, once you get married to white lady here in Europe you do everything in common and you operate a joint account which both of you are signatory to, if she finds out you are transfering money to your country ilegally is even a ground for divorce. As an African man he ought to have sent most of his Money down to Ivory-Coast.
Marrying a white woman you should know once you get divorced, she will get the better part of your money and assets. So he just worked for nothing all these years, too bad that's life. I pray he at least spring up again even if not at the pedalstal he was before. When some some men insult Nigerian women and threaten to go foreign because white women are better, I laugh hard because they are ignorant of reality. If you must marry a white woman, make sure you sign a prenup. |

Hedonistically: Men have it worse where it matters most: The pressure to make and spend money. On top of that, our culture does not discourage them from getting jobs easier than their male counterparts (courtesy of bottom power). It's the most unfavourable thing in the world. You expect me to have money, yet you allow women use sex and feminine charms to chance me and get the job that I'm supposed to get in order to meet to to financial expectations. DerideGull: Good you remembered the first son part. Are you also going to criticize the same culture when the first son is called upon to perform certain rites for the dead father because he is the first son? There is nothing wrong with the culture however everything is wrong with people who tend to become counterculture by playing idiotic politics of the day. I can assure you there is more to political affiliation to this matter than the culture. Power corrupts people. When you give total control to a person because he is the first born, he will likely abuse such power. If you have lived in the east, you will know that this case is not isolated and has nothing to do with politics because some siblings, uncles and mothers who are not politicians also engage in inheritance war whenever the first son try to assert his "sole right" to his father's properties. The injustice must stop. |
