Guys this people are crazy. At least you should be able to give some one 3 days or even one week to pay up. The very day your loan is due you start getting embarrassing messages. I just wonder what usless app is that. They sent a message to all my contacts after I have paid. My friend salary was delayed for just a day and they went haywire even sending to his boss a useless message. I was mad. Those guys re evil. You are right but those companies are sometimes dubious...
They give you loan and make it impossible for you to pay back. It's always easier getting loan than paying back. You find it difficult to access the refund channel and customer care... They deliberately frustrate your efforts and make sure your loan interest piles up and then, boom! The threat starts.

Yes i know. And yes I was in that situation ( I had to quickly borrow money to pay off branch once).

And yes there are also Nigerians who have no intention of paying loans back

Plus if you are not a regular salary earner one should not take the loans.

Let's be honest. Most of the people defaulting are not in changed circumstances. Let's not excuse the bad eggs. If these companies go out of business because people are not paying back on time we won't have any means of taking short term loans.

We have a problem of understanding CONSTITUTIONALITY.
Irrespective of the your argument that such illegality is in the terms and conditions, it is totally illegal.
Besides, they embarrass not only the customers that took the loan, but also threatening their Innocent contacts, telling them that their names were used as sureties- which is deception.

They dont even tell your contacts that you borrowed money, they tell them that you are a fugitive who stole and ran away with company's money.

And they will continue to charge you for overdue and interest plus the gross violation of your cyber privacy.
Sometimes you repay their loans and they will still go behind withdraw directly from your account without refunding you.

While I hate sokoloan for other reasons, the reason why they take such extreme measures is because they don't have a choice

1..many of their customers don't pay back at all or very late

2. Records and registrations in Nigeria are very very poor.

Having said that I agree their methods are too harsh. Having said that if you are planning to take a loan from one of those loan companies like sokoloan and paylater and branch, as the terms and conditions says make sure you have the means to pay as and at when due.

Them loan companies are evil but they unfortunately meet a need. Our banks won't give you a 5000naira loan for two weeks. Even if your salary is domiciled there ( except for a few)

I think before one access their loan he/she might have seen their terms and conditions which is defamation,but the oni gbese will ignore to read it because he/she is desperate to access the loan.

Sorry for that, would have mentioned the repercussions for his deed, of course he should be dealt with accordingly, but if we focus on the consequences we will never avert things like this from happening.

We're a developing country, in fact an underdeveloped country (we can't be in the same bracket as Brazil, Indonesia, etc which are also regarded as developing countries), so we have to prioritise if we're serious about making progress.

So I think the Nigerian masses and the entire apparatus of government should be more concerned about the source of wealth of EMPLOYEES with known salaries and earnings (civil servants, politicians, bankers, etc) rather than worrying about the source of wealth of self-employed individuals. I know jealousy and frustration can damage the brains of Nigerian masses, but the masses need to start from the main sources of their problems.

I'm more concerned that an ordinary policeman like Abba Kyari (for example) whose official salary and allowances is not up to N5m a year, can be building a close to N1 billion Naira House in Asokoro, and be worth several billions. We can't make progress as a country if public officials with known incomes continue to live above their means but you masses don't question these things and you are more interested in how strictly self employed hustlers conjured miracles to lift themselves up out of nothing.

We need to reset our priorities in that regard.
