Sultan speaks to Muslims and Islamic affairs. Boko is neither! Boko is a terrorizing bandit exploiting Islam to incite sympathy and secure cover.
And by a chrisitan Demdem: First, i'm a xtian.
Secondly, the use of Google by the OP would have changed his mindset. Lets put blame where it suppose to be. GEJ is clueless about what to do. The guy is simply failing. Why is that so difficult for us all to grasp.
Thirdly, the sultan hasnt been quiet.
Boko Haram devilish, says Sultan-led Islamic Council
KADUNA — The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has praised the security agencies for crushing what it described as “a devilish group called Boko Haram’’(an Islamic sect which believes that Western education is sin) saying that Moslems in the country should dissociate them-selves from the criminal activities of the group.
The JNI is led by the Sultan of Sokoto and President, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubarkar.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Abubarkar in Kaduna, yesterday, the JNI stated, “it is with deep feeling of sadness that we once again address the unfortunate events occasioned by the criminal activities of a devilish group called Boko Haram in mostly North-East cities of our country.
“For five days, members of this motley outfit had constituted themselves into terror group, unleashing mayhem on all agents of constituted authority and other innocent people.â€
‘We firmly and categorically dissociate Islam and Muslims from this group and denounce its criminal onslaught on the security agencies; on Muslims and indeed on any other Nigerian. Islam cannot advocate intolerance and violence and will never condone the activities of any group which promote murder and arson.
‘We also take exception to the misguided philosophy of the Boko Haram group which have a primeval abhorrence for all aspect of education and is bent on evolving a society based on ignorance and terror.
‘ Islam is a religion based on knowledge and the Muslim ummah is necessarily a knowledge-based society. Islamic civilization had historically been at the forefront of knowledge including science and technology.
‘The current technological progress in the global arena could not have been possible without the pivotal and historical role played by Muslims in the process.
‘ The Jama’atu Nasril Islam, the Muslim Ummah and indeed Muslims all over the world reject the retrogressive, mischievous and misguided philosophy of the Boko Haram group and call upon Muslims to regard the cultivation of knowledge as a noble strategic undertaking essential for evolving a dynamic Muslim Ummah and a virile nation.
‘As a result of the activities of the Boko Haram, innocent lives were lost and property destroyed. We offer our condolence to all those who lost their relatives and friends in the mayhem and pray to Allah to grant them mercy and forgiveness.
‘We also commiserate with those who lost property and the means of their livelihood and pray to Allah to compensate them accordingly.
‘We commend government and security agencies for promptly containing the situation and wish to call upon all Muslims to give complete support to them in their investigation so that they can get to the root of the causes of the ugly outbreak of violence in the North east region and the alleged extra-judicial killing of the leaders of the group.
‘ We would also want to assure our friends, especially those outside Nigeria that his unfortunate incident is an aberration which is only aimed at tarnishing the image of Islam. The Muslim leadership in Nigeria and indeed the entire nation is fully committed and determined to fight and with Allah’s help, defeat this devilish agenda.
‘In addition to the planned meeting of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Fatwa Committee, a high powered meeting of all JNI stakeholders will soon be convened to examine additional short and long term strategies in dealing with this situation and others like it and to advice government appropriately.
‘Once again, we wish to reaffirm that the JNI, together with all Muslims remain focused and the task of building a peaceful, progressive and tolerant Nigeria and call upon each and every Nigerian to join us in this noble endevour. May Allah continue to bless Nigeria and Nigerians’

Blame Boko Haram killings on politicians – Sultan
Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, has declared that politicians have failed the people of Nigeria just as he maintained that politicians sometimes create crises and give them religious colouration. The Sultan also said the issue of Islamic fundamentalism and the crises in the country associated with it can be traced to the activities of politicians who arm and give the youths money to create crises. Abubakar, however, noted that the fundamentalists are in the minority. He spoke yesterday on a Cable News Network, CNN, programme African Voices. Islamic fundamentalism has, of late, been a sore point in the polity with the Boko Haram sect, opposed to western education, unleashing terror in some parts of the North, particularly in Borno and Bauchi states. • Scores of lives have been lost to the group’s activities including high profile politicians and law enforcement agents. Only last week, a cleric who was gunned down in Maiduguri, Borno State, capital, became the latest victim of Boko Haram. • Speaking on the fundamentalists, the Sultan said: ”Every where you have bad eggs who do not agree with what you are doing but they are always in the minority; so you don’t have much problem but the majority are the ones that matter. The majority are the ones who really matter and we are the majority”. Responding to a question on the role of politicians and the failure to engage constructive development of the nation, he said: ”If you say politicians have failed them, then you are quite right ”The politicians are the ones who even arm these people. ” They give them money. ” They arm them. ”But like I’ve said, they are in the minority.” The majority of us are peace loving and we are out for a peace-loving Nigeria”. Asked if traditional rulers have also failed the young men who are involved in Islamic fundamentalism, the Sultan gave an emphatic “NO” response. The Sultan re-affirmed that the traditional institution has not failed the people. On the issue of religious crisis, he admitted thus: ”There could be a few cases of religious crises in some places but most of the crises we have in this country (that some people link to religion) are not religious. They are politically motivated and given the colouration of religion”. Abubakar said he was “very concerned about recent developments whereby politicians use people to create crises and then try to link it with religion. I am very concerned about that. Even when the president called us to have a talk with us, I brought it up that politicians should have issue-related campaigns and not about personalities or ethnicity and I have always made it clear that no Christian politician can win an (presidential) election with purely Christian votes and no Muslim politician can win with purely Muslim votes. Nigeria’s population is divided between both religions. ”I cannot force you to accept my religion, the Almighty said so in the Quoran. You go your way I go my way and these two ways lead to the Almighty. It is for the Almighty to determine which of these two ways is better to get through to Him and that is not for you and I; so there should be no problem of converting people by force. We preach peace always”.

edoyad: 'innocent civilians' here , if that's what they really are could be seen as collateral damage. It happens every where, just switch to CNN and you'll see the same happening in Afghanistan. Does that make the US army as bad as Alqaeda ? Actually no, they are worse than Al Qaeda If you add 911 for the benefit of argument and add all people that al qaeda killed is nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands that US army killed in Iraq after it lied they had WMD and ended up giving innocent iraqi depleted uranium not to mention afghanistan and now pakistan via Reapers Now who is worse? While the media blames islamists everytime it keeps shut on the us army Who is worse? |

worldbest: @Pheeque
Thanks for the kind words. Frankly, i agree with you, the idea certainly wont put food on the table. I think its one of the reasons (if not the major reason) while some of us lost interest. I like your idea on HTML 5. I once mentioned that we just go the browser way; Create games like mafia wars etc. At least, the workload of such games are not as heavy as that of 3D games.
Judging from what we have done so far, i think we have failed in achieving the main objective which is to create a game and sort of keep start a game development industry in Nigeria. But who says we
Ok guys.Things have gone cold lately.know why?, How do we profit from this?!
I registered a while ago when the team was just starting up but i couldn't keep up cos the idea wasn't going to put food on my table.I must sound like an antagonist but thats the fact.
If you expect people to download games onto the local machines before they get a feel of what you guys are creating then you are getting something wrong somewhere.
Now let me introduce you to someone,Benjamin Joffe. You can reach him at http://www.benjoffe.com/code.You all need to see what this guy creates armed only with a web browser and a zeal for gaming!!!.Of course, you are definitely viewing this topic with a browser.
What am i getting at?, If just ONE guy can do that,i guess a whole country should be able to also.I am currently going through html5 canvas animation.anyone interested in the particular book should please signify.
Monetizing has just been made easier then. With apple's support for html5 applications, the target audience is wider.
Kudos to world best and game addict for keeping the thread live.If you need more guys,i think you should consider my suggestions.
By the way,i'm a php/javascript programmer.Interested only in web based technologies. cannot keep start it the browser way? I mean, it would not be bad if we had our own Zynga of Nigeria. Knowing fully well that alot of Nigerians use the internet, i think it would be a good idea to make HTML 5 games. Moreso, alot of individuals are super skilled with web technologies. Further more, we wont be talking about 3D graphics, just plane 2D. We can host the browser game on a number of platforms Facebook, IOS, Android, Google Chrome etc. What do y'all think? We've got to start from somewhere.
Hey please am very much interested, send it to me please : chapnaija11@yahoo.com And please how is your progress, is it going well, Thats a good idea |

MEND or if u believe SSS Chirma Orlu and Ben Bassey They Bombs in Suleja, Minna and Maiduguri twice against Northerners , why would they kill northerners instead of southereners ? Makes sense ? The Bombing of 10 people would stop a southerener from the presidency exactly how ? It wouldt change a damn thing that GEJ is our president which i look forward to his tenure though i dislike him, i have no choice My point : Think intelligently not like a fish |
