balogunsam:Thanks Balogun. Will like the motherboard sent to me in Ekiti asap |
Just wish to confirm the receipt of the following items ordered through Balogunsam and waybilled to me today in Ekiti State. 6laptops 7 DVDs 2 Digital cameras. There is nothing like doing business with a man of integrity.! |
balogunsam:I got this very insulting e-mail too and I just smiled. I smiled because a foolish boy who refused to receive home training from his illiterate parents think everyone is a fool like he is. But when a young man decides to prove to an older person, not just an older person, but one old enough to be his father that he is smart, it is time to show the little brat that a young man may have clothes like an elder but certainly not as many rags. All these while, I've played cool because I thought Lagtech will like the biblical prodigal son of the Holy Bible come to his senses and make his way right, but I can see that like the proverbial dog that is destined to be lost, he will not heed the warning whistles of the hunter. It's time to show Lagtech that he may be in the US in the white man's land but we in Africa know how to deal with unrepentant rogues like him. The battle line is drawn. Soon the whole world will know that Lagtech has stepped on the tail of a cobra. I rest my case. Someone including the moderator or super moderator or Seun may read this and begin to wonder why this? Well, the story is short and simple. Between May and July 2014, I placed various orders with lagtech to pick up items for me on Craigslist. These were mainly for books, trophies and six laptops. I paid not just for the items, but also all charges by Lagtech. At the end of the day, my items amounted to six extra large cartons for which I coughed out $1080 that is at $180 per carton for sea shipping. Lagtech told me he shipped the items at the beginning of July 2014. To date I have not received these items and there is no credible explanation from Lagtech. At a point he claimed that he used a 'green horn" shipper who messed up his shipping. I have asked over and over that Lagtech disclose the name of this shipper, his address, telephone etc for confirmation. Not only has Lagtech been unable to do so, he has refused to provide evidence on his part that he actually shipped the items. No invoice, no tracking number etc. Early this year, He notified me of the arrival of a batch of my items and lo and behold it was a laptop and an e-reader. As I was wondering how a laptop shipped with other items could suddenly come alone, I discovered while trying to browse with it that Lagtech used the same laptop a few days earlier to assess Nairaland. Like all criminals, he made the mistake of not logging out. I needed no further proof that Lagtech did no sea shipping. I mailed him my findings, but got no reply. I wrote on this thread, he did not address the issue. Two months later, I got a call from Jimmy that some of my items had arrived. Three cartons of books were handed over to me. I discovered this were the items I ordered after Lagtech claimed he had shipped the first batch. I had not paid the shipping for these but he shipped them according to him in November and they got her in February. I got them in May. Biut till date the first shipment has not arrived. Every month, I receive useless updates from Lagtech saying I was sure to smile that month. He has sent another one again this month and fixed 12th of next month as my 'smiling date'. A few weeks ago, he listed my name among those to receive laptops, two to be specific. He said he had shipped them to a shipper in the US and provided tracking number. I tracked the package until it was delivered to the shipper in New York. As I write this, no item has been delivered to me and Lagtech has not said anything concerning it. Balogunsam here is into this business. I have purchased ov er 50 items through him in the past few months. His items do not get lost, misplaced or forgotten. They arrive promptly without stories. What is it about Lagtech's items that they must be lost or misplaced? The simple truth is Lagtech is a BIG FRAUD. His a cleverly concocted fraud that sucked many people in with his initial display of honesty and transparency. When Lagtech left the path of truthfulness, I was about the first to raise an alarm. I remember his scathing response. He accused me of all sorts and some fools on this thread then hailed him as a hero and saw me as the villain. Today I've been vindicated. Lagtech thrives on half truths and sentiments. Ask him a simple question and he will type 10 pages with the intent of confusing you and distracting your attention from the main issue at hand. If all that I've typed here contains falsehood, Lagtech should in a very short and simple form explain what happened to the sea-shipped items of July 2014 and what he is doing to remedy the situation. Until then, my position is that he diverted the shipping fees paid him to his personal use. If he chooses to ignore this, let him know that the calamity that will befall him and his family is as a result of his handiwork. |
Thanks my man. Keep all my items till next week when ny other motherboard lands. Still waiting for my invoice so I can now what my balance is. |
Lagtech is owing me the following: 1. 6 extra large cartons of books and trophies 2. 5 assorted laptops (I received one out of six which I ordered) All these items were supposedly shipped by sea in July 2014. Please ask Lagtech to tell you what really happened to the sea-shipped items because he has not been forthcoming to those of us affected by this. |

In a display of absurd mannerism, an unidentified commercial vehicle driver on Tuesday removed his cloths and started behaving strangely when officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps stopped his car and demanded for his vehicle particulars. The incident happened along the busy Marian Road in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. According to an eyewitness, the naked driver, whose vehicle registration number was Edo AUC 901 XS, came out of his vehicle and started behaving funny by removing his cloths. The eyewitness, who identified himself as Raheem Bayoor, said officials of the FRSC were stunned by the behaviour of the driver and did not attempt to struggle with him as he resisted arrest. Bayoor said, “The man just came out when the FRSC officials requested for his particulars and started pulling off his cloths. It is obvious that he was abnormal; a mad man behind the wheel. The FRSC officials were stunned and did not attempt to create any scene as it was obvious that the driver was ready for any rough encounter.” When contacted, a furious state Commander of FRSC, Mr. Ikechukwu Igwe, said he had ordered his men to trace the driver through the vehicle and get him arrested. “We will definitely get him,” he said.

i know it will soon come to this. The church is under siege. Carnality has taken over. Rather than rely on the word of God, prayer and the Holy Spirit for the conversion of souls, churches have resorted to carnal means. The other day it was a reverend father in training drowning at a beach party, today its a pentecostal church inviting a musician with obscene lyrics to perform as a guest artiste at its crusade. Soon nude dancers will be invited to perform at church programmes. The end is near indeed. |
I'm sure most of the people commenting negatively here do not reside in Ekiti State nor have many of them even visited the state. I am from Ekiti State, worked in Ekiti State as aTeacher before relocating to lagos and three years ago I returned to ekiti state to start a private school. My first observation upon relocating was about the poor attitude to work not just by civil servants but by private business owners. You may not believe it, most civil servants in my nneighbourhood hardly go to work and when they do, sometimes they do not leave home until 10am. Private shops in most part of Ado Ekiti do not open before 9am. The exceptional ones are businesses run by Ibos. And most shops in Ado Ekiti close as early as 5pm. I remembered when I invited a professional colleague from Lagos to give a talk to my staff. He got to Ado about 7.30pm and there was no restaurant open in the heart of the town to entertain him. Its as bad as that. This is one major reason the state is poor. Lateness was a major issue I had to contend with when I started my school. Getting to work at 7.00am was a problem for my teachers and yet there is no where in Ado that you need to commute for up to 30 minutes before arriving at your destination. The point is the people just can't get out of their homes before 7am! I do not know of any company that allows its workers to resume and close at their own will. Every employer has a set time for resumption and closing. The workers in that picture were grossly late and they were caught by their employer. They know they stand the risk of losing their jobs and all their years of service. Of their own will they chose to kneel and prostrate to beg their employer. Fayose is a no nonsense man, but he is not one to humiliate the very workers that he loves so much. He has shown his love for them by paying their salaries up to date. He listens to them, he plays with them but he by locking the gates against late comers today has shown that he can also discipline them if they break the rules. He has done nothing wrong. I love Fayoose, Ekiti people love him and we will continue to do so. |
balogunsam:Your offence is that you have the audacity to start your own shipping and from the look of things, you are making a huge success of it with no one complaining of any delay whatsoever. The successful man is an eternal foe of a failure. I don't see you getting your items too soon because you must be punished for daring to be successful. Accept my moist sincere sympathy. One thing I know is that whether the devil likes it or not your excellent service delivery has placed you on top and God will continue to mover you higher, far and above all your competitors in JESUS name. |
lagtech:This was the list Lagtech displayed when the item were shipped to his US shipper. Compare with the new list released this morning. Lagtech may have a short memory, but not so for every other person. I have bolded my monicker (alternate) there. I wonder when all these deceit will end. Lagtech, I have 6 extra large boxes of books, trophies and 5 laptops purportedly shipped in July 2014 still outstanding. You wil enjoy no rest until these are delivered into my hands. |
No fewer than 35 contestants have indicated their interests to succeed the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who died on July 28, in a London hospital. Our correspondent gathered that the contestants are those from the Giesi Ruling House alone which is one of the four ruling houses in Ile-Ife. To ensure that the family field credible candidates only, it was gathered that the leadership of the ruling house set up a committee screen for the contestants to ensure that unqualified persons were not included among its candidates. The screening committee was headed by Prince Ropo Ogunwusi while Prince Kehinde Ogunwusi was the secretary. The committee, it was gathered, had submitted its report to Prince Modupe Fadehan, who is the head of the family. ADVERTISEMENT The ruling house, it was gathered, asked the committee to come up with six contestants whose names would be forwarded to the kingmakers before the end of this week. Some of the contestants included Princes Adetunji Ogunwusi, Aderemi Adelowo, Sikiru Ayedun, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Taye Ogunleye, Adegboyega Ologbenla and Gbadegesin Ologbenla. Others were Princes Bankola Adediwura, Adegboyega Adedira, Olajide Adejoba, Sikiru Ayedun, Ademoyowa Omomadelo and Adegoke Adeyemo. Efforts to speak to the chairman of the committee were unsuccessful as telephone calls to him were not picked while he did not respond to the text sent to him. However, a member of the family, Prof. Moses Awogbade, when contacted on the telephone by our correspondent, said he was aware that some contestants had collected intention form designed by the family for aspirants. He said, “I have seen the list of the contestants but I did not check how many. I saw the names of those contesting from our family and I was okay with that.” One of the sources within Giesi said Adetunji Ogunwusi was confident of emerging the next Ooni despite the large number of contestants struggling to ascend the throne. The source, who pleaded not to be mentioned, said, “He is confident of emerging the next Ooni. He is already looking for ways to further develop Ife, unlike other contestants. “Concerning the insinuations that the rotational order of succession to the throne has been cancelled, majority of the people of Ile-Ife believe that this is a sign of desperation by some of those jostling to succeed the late Oba Okunade Sijuwade by all means.” |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has commenced a full investigation into the activities of the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. It was learnt on Sunday that the commission constituted a four-member committee of crack detectives to probe all the NNPC accounts which were supervised by the former minister. It was learnt that the committee was led by a Superintendent of Police, who was seconded to the commission. Investigations revealed that the other three members of the committee were pioneer civilian operatives of the commission with high capacity for investigation. Sunday PUNCH had on Sunday reported that the ongoing probe of the immediate-past administration by President Muhammadu Buhari was to beam its searchlight on the alleged purchase of three mobile stages, costing $6.9m, by former President Goodluck Jonathan and two of his officials. According to a document, which was obtained from the Presidency on Saturday, the deal, which is now a subject of investigation, was allegedly carried out by Jonathan; his Chief Security Officer, Mr. Gordon Obuah; and Alison-Madueke. The fund was said to have been withdrawn from one of the numerous accounts of the NNPC. The $6.9m (about N1.37bn) was said to have been withdrawn for the purpose of buying three pieces of 40-feet mobile stages for use by Jonathan during the campaign. Besides the latest allegation, it will be recalled that a group, Crusader for Good Governance, had petitioned the EFCC accusing the former minister of squandering million of dollars of public funds to charter private jets. The petitioners also accused her of spending $300,000 on an average international trip. The group also alleged that the NNPC, a government agency she oversaw, maintained a Challenger 850 Visa jet which serves the former minister’s needs as well as those of her family. The cost of running the jet is $500,000 per month. She was also accused of going to a meeting of the Oil Producing and Exporting Countries in Austria in a private jet. It was gathered on Sunday that the committee set up by the EFCC had since commenced probing the NNPC accounts and activities of the former minister. A top operative of the EFCC, who confided in The PUNCH, said, “I think the commission has commenced investigation into this Diezani issue. It is not just about inviting her, the commission has set up a four-man team of crack detectives to investigate her operations in the NNPC. “The terms of reference of the committee include to look into all the NNPC accounts which were under the supervision of Mrs. Alison-Madueke. “The committee has since commenced work; they are still working. I think a very senior police officer, a Police Superintendent, is leading the other operatives in the probe of Diezani and multiple accounts of the NNPC.” The source said. When our correspondent contacted the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, on the activities of the EFCC Special Committee on the NNPC, the calls to his mobile telephone line did not connect. But Uwujaren had earlier said that he was not aware if the commission had commenced a probe into the allegation that $6.9m was spent on campaign stages. Uwujaren said that he had not been briefed on any such investigation. “I am not aware of such a probe; I have not been briefed on such a probe,” he said. Meanwhile, Obuah has denied the allegation of purchase of three mobile stages, costing $6.9m, for public appearance of the then President. Obuah, who spoke through his lawyer, Mr. Andrew Tsekiri, in a telephone conversation with one of our correspondents on Sunday, said the allegation was false and challenged the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to produce evidence instead of putting him on trial in the media. Tsekiri said his client had been confronted with the allegation while in the detention of the Department of State Services, which he said investigated it and found it to be untrue. The lawyer said, “Let me tell you, nothing like that exists. Obuah did not make demand for that money for any stage. Let them show to Nigerians evidence that he took the money. When Obuah was in their (DSS) detention, they investigated this particular matter and found out that it was false. “He was confronted with the allegation. Mr. Obuah told them that he knew nothing about it, and they found that the allegation was false. They released him, why are they bringing it up again?” He said since the release of the former President’s CSO from the DSS detention in July, he had not been contacted over the allegation by any government agency since then. He said, “They have investigated the allegation and they found out it was false, since then no government agency had contacted or invited Mr. Obuah. “They should show how Diezani authorised the payment of the money and how it left Citibank to Zenith Bank, to Access Bank to Sterling Bank and they should show how it ended in Obuah’s account.” Tsekiri said the outcome of the allegation would soon show that the Buhari Administration was not interested in governance but to frame up allegations against people. “They are just lying against Diezani and Mr. Jonathan. That is what they are doing. Let me tell you what they want to do. They will charge Obuah to court, make all the noise about the allegation that has been published, knowing full well that the matter will not be decided in about a year or two, and by then, the public would have forgotten about it but they would have spoilt your name.” |
The Federal Government will on Tuesday (tomorrow)arraign a former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), before a Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly being in possession of firearms without license, The PUNCH learnt on Sunday. The Department of State Security Service had, in a statement by one of its officials, Tony Opuiyo, on August 24, 2015, said that it had charged Dasuki with the alleged offence. The service did not disclose details of the charge but our correspondent learnt that the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, had on Friday assigned the case to Justice Adeniyi Ademola, who is the court’s vacation judge. The DSS said it had charged Dasuki with possession of firearms without licence, an offence punishable under section 27(I)(a)(I) of the Firearms Act Cap F28 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, based on evidence so far obtained. ADVERTISEMENT Findings by our correspondent showed that the Federal Ministry of Justice had since taken over the case. It was learnt that the trial ought to have commenced last week but it could not go on because of the directive of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmmud Mohammed, to various heads of court not to sit throughout the week to enable lawyers and interested judges to participate in the just-concluded one week-long Annual Bar Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association. The DSS had on July 16, 2015 searched the ex-NSA’s residences in Asokoro, Abuja; and Sokoto, where its operatives claimed to have recovered seven high calibre rifles, including magazines and military gears in the houses located at 13, John Khadya Street, and 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja; and 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State. The agency also said that it recovered 12 new vehicles, including five bullet-proof cars from Dasuki’s house, the ownership of which could not be explained by the embattled former NSA, and which investigators believed must have been purchased with proceeds of corruption. The DSS had claimed that it searched Dasuki’s homes “based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian state.” The statement partly read, “You may recall that on July 16, 2015, the Department of State Services carried out search operations on properties belonging to the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (retd.), in Abuja and Sokoto. “This action was necessitated by credible intelligence, which linked him to acts capable of undermining national security. The search operations led to the recovery of large cache of arms and ammunition among other things and for which further investigation was conducted. “Consequently, on Monday, August 24, 2015, he was charged to court based on evidence so far obtained, but which relates to possession of firearms without licence punishable under section 27(i)(a)(i) of the Firearms Act Cap F28 LFN 2004.” The secret service said Dasuki’s arraignment was in line with democratic practice and “our avowed commitment to the rule of law, in which nobody is deemed to be above the law, no matter how highly placed in the society |

For the first time in six and a half years, the global oil benchmark Brent crude on Monday traded around $43 per barrel, $10 lower than Nigeria’s oil benchmark for this year’s budget. The further slide in oil prices followed concerns about slowing Chinese demand, even as Iran and the United States look set to raise oil production. ADVERTISEMENT Chinese stock markets on Monday suffered their biggest one-day decline since the global financial crisis, exacerbating worries over the outlook for global oil demand. Brent, against which Nigeria’s oil is priced, on Monday fell by $2.16 to at $43.30 per barrel, near its weakest since March 2009, while the US benchmark West Texas Intermediate was trading around $38.74 per barrel. The steep decline in oil prices had in March forced the National Assembly to settle for $53 per barrel as the benchmark oil price for 2015 budget, down from $65 proposed by the Executive, which had to adjust it twice, from $78 to $73, and later to $65. An economist and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Financial Derivatives Company Limited, Mr. Bismarck Rewane, told our correspondent in a telephone interview that “at $43 a barrel, it means from $108 to $116 in Nigeria last year, our revenue is down by 65 per cent.” He said, “Anybody whose income drops by 65 per cent has to think very hard. We have some hard times ahead of us.” He warned that oil price could decline further, saying, “Your benchmark price is at $53; average price by this time last year was $100 and now you are at $43 and you are going to $30; you don’t need anybody to tell you that.” BMI Research had last week said Brent would not recover until 2018, downgrading its average price forecasts to $56 and $55 per barrel for 2016 and 2017, respectively, compared to an average of $57 in 2015. It said, “The return of Iranian oil to market, coupled with strong project pipelines in North America, the Middle East, West Africa and Kazakhstan, will see global supply growth outstrip the growth in global consumption for the next two years. A rising overhang of crude will maintain downward pressure on Brent.” The Head of Energy Research, Ecobank Capital, Mr. Dolapo Oni, said, “The slide is a reminder to Nigeria that it is not enough to set the budget benchmark at $53, steps must be taken to ensure that revenue is protected by hedging the country’s oil output to some extent. “Furthermore, it is indicative of the need for Nigeria to diversify away from dependence on oil. The current slide is likely to continue due to China’s strong influence on the energy markets and the current economic headwinds in China are creating bearish pressures on global markets for securities, currencies and commodities.” In Oni’s views, the key implication from this for Nigeria is the continued decline in government’s revenue; pressure on the naira to continue losing value against major currencies, especially in the parallel markets; while oil production may come under pressure as some fields are no longer economic at this price. http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/oil-price-falls-10-below-budget-benchmark/ |
menesheh:Jesus is alive and able. The question you should ask is "Would Jesus have approved of a beach senth forth party?" Where in the Bible was such organised? Send forth in the Bible was a sober moment full of prayers and meditation on the word. Who will deliver the church from this worldliness that has crept into it? Did I hear you say only God? No! He won't because he has given us His word to guide us but we have rejected the word. The Bible clearly says, He that breaks the hedge, him shall the serpent bite. When we break God's word and take to our own ways the result is always death, sorrow and mourning. He said, there is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof is death. He that has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the church. Am I judging them? Be it far from me to do so for judgement belongs to God. I only spoke as moved by the Spirit and in line with the inspired word of God. If anyone does not like it, too bad. |

It's so frustrating interviewing applicants these days. In the past two months, I've interviewed about 15 applicants who although possessed degree certificates have nothing to show for it. Imagine a graduate who cannot spell the word 'Proprietor' correctly. Some who manage to pass our written test fail the micro teaching aspect. They are unable to communicate effectively with the students. In fact when after a session I sought the students' opinion, they responded that that particular applicant should be employed to teach the kindergarten class. I begin to wonder if students still learn in our tertiary institutions? Christfield Private School Ado Ekiti is still searching for good teachers for the new session due to start in September. Interested applicants should please forward their CV to christfieldschool@yahoo.com. |
