We are on total lock down here in Ado Ekiti. No movement at all. |
Which is why I love my state governor, Ayodele Fayoose. He pays compensation before demolition. Yet some people will still call him names. |
Our brothers from the East do not believe in refund of money once it enters their hand or account. They will rather die than give up any amount. Why it is so, I do not know. Were Metuh to be a Yoruba man he would have refunded this money long ago and let trouble go its way. |
Has he refunded the money? Until he does, he does not enjoy my sympathy. |
The true Christian church is never afraid of persecution. It's the nominal Christians who are. Persecution makes the church grow, leads to wider spread of the gospel. Read the Acts of Apostles and you will see that but for persecution, Christianity would not have reached us in Africa. So real Christians will not pray against persecution but will ask for grace to go through it without denying the faith. Am I saying the church in Kaduna is being persecuted? No. Just to say that even if it comes to that, the church will not only survive, it will grow stronger. |
I am a Christian, a preacher of the gospel and do not see what is wrong with this. I own and run my own school in Ekiti State. Before the beginning of this term, I had discovered this term will be two weeks short if 2nd term must end with Easter. For me a standard school term should run for a minimum of 13 weeks and a maximum of 14. So I called a meeting of my parents and informed them that the term will extend beyond Easter. The attached is a copy of the Academic calendar that was proposed for the term. I think later in the term, the State Ministry of Education also realized this shortfall and has since ordered all schools to remain open until after Easter. There is no hidden agenda in what Kaduna State Government did. Easter has no fixed date unlike Christmas. Sometimes, Easter comes early (this year is an example) while at other times it comes late (sometimes as late as April ending). No Act of Parliament says second term must end with Easter. As for Christians who are crying foul, I think there is a misconception that observing a particular holiday makes us more religious. Easter is not about holiday. It is about the cross of Christ. What has that cross done in your life. If you are not born again, spending a month to celebrate Easter will not help you. Besides, what about civil servants who year in year out return to work the nect day after Easter Monday. Why have they not shouted religions marginalization all these years? Finally, I think those who will hate this development most are school proprietors who would have been calculating the money they will save on running school buses, running hostels , staff salaries (for those who do not pay during holidays) etc. Most of these proprietors are Christians and pastors too. Let us have 13 weeks 2nd term, Easter or no Easter, I rest my case. |
adeaks:ILLEGALLY CONVERTING THE FRONT OF HIS CHURCH, WHICH HAPPENS TO BE A PUBLIC PLACE TO A BURIAL GROUND!!! |
Xposer:It is grammatically wrong to describe an accident as fatal if no one died in it. The correct word is 'ghastly'. Op and others, please take note. |
Babaji111:Has it ever occurred to you that this could be an inter-denomiational service? It does not appear to me as pictures from different services. I do know that on such occasions, the governor is often given the microphone to say something. And a humble governor will ask for more prayers from the people. Fayoose has never hidden the fact that he became governor second time by the grace of God. he has always asked that citizens of the state pray for him and we in Ekiti State have not stopped praying. After all isn't that what the Bible enjoins believers to do? |
kITATITA:Point of correction. She's not an officer. She is a church official. That.s the way they dress in their church. |
VIPERVENOM:What other evidence do you need? I said he has constructed the road in my area, I mentioned the place and he has approved a public primary school for the community. Have you been there to check and found my claims false? I think you are suffering from FAYOOSEPHOBIA. |
VIPERVENOM:You are probably looking from outside Ekiti State. If you care to travel down to Ekiti State you will see. I live in Ado Ekiti precisely in Onala Community, Off Afao Road, Ado Ekiti. While Fayemi was governor for four years, the community benefited nothing. There was no motorable road, no government primary or secondary school, no government health centre, no public water supply, not even a bore hole etc. Then Fayose was inaugurated in October last year. Now the community can boast of a world class road linking it with Iworoko road via Car wash bus stop. In addition a public primary school has been approved for the community, all in the space of 12 months. This is waht I call good governance. What Fayose has done in Onala, he has done in several communities around the state. Unfortunately most of his critics live outside Ekiti State. God will surely forgive them. And before you think I am a jobless bootlicker, I advise you check my previous posts to know who I am. While Fayose is not God, the truth is that any attempt to remove him through the back door will lead to unimaginable crisis comparable to the 1965 crisis in the old Western Region which ultimately consumed the first republic. APC should learn from history and allow peace resign. They should go enjoy their victory and not insist on having all states under their control. |
balogunsam:Thanks Balogun. Please keep my items. I have two more items on the way. |
Khd95:Learn from it. Nigeria can become great if we return to the land and stop depending on oil. |
Jolllyjoy:To encourage those of you wasting your time in the cities searching for the ever elusive jobs to return to your villages to till the land. Our economic revival depends largely on agriculture. Hope you now understand why I put this here. That single bunch can provide a healthy breakfast for a family of 4 for 10 solid days!. Now this comes from the little space at the back of my house. can you imagine how much more can be realised from cultivating an acre or hectare of land? Use your brain, my dear. |
I harvested this Plantain bunch from the back of my house yesterday. It has exactly 40 big fingers on it. It's about the 15th that I've harvested this year. With things like this, I wonder why Nigeria has to import food. Our land is fertile and can feed us and provide forex via export if only we can farm it. What do you think?
|
artisticallyart:We've done that for two years now. The area has opened up and any teacher joining us now has great opportunity of making big extra money besides the salary. We believe such teachers should be able to take care of their accommodation. |
Redomi:No. You rent your own place. Accommodation can be easily secured a few meters away from the school. A room costs like N18k p.a. Lots of opportunity to make extra money through private home lessons for pupils and students. |
orobs93:I just did. Very nice write up. Welcome back Reuben. |

cramjones:I agree with you that Faleke should be allowed to step in but it will be suicidal for APC. They will most likely lose the supplementary election as the deciding votes will come from Igalaland. In politics, morality is often sacrificed for expediency. This happens not only in Nigeria. PDP lost the 2015 Presidential election because they did not learn this early enough. If PDP had sacrificed Jonathan for a Northern candidate, they would have defeated APC, forget all those talk about corruption and the like. So the options for APC are simple. Present Faleke and lose or sacrifice Faleke and pick the younger Audu so they can win sympathy vote to drive a final knell into the coffin of PDP in Kogi State. So what do we learn from all these? I think we should begin to beam our searchlights on the process of selecting a running mate. As it is now, not much attention is given to this all important office. No one thinks about what will happen if the principal (governor) is incapacitated thus paving way for the deputy to become the governor. Maybe the electoral act should be ammended so whoever comes second in the primary automatically becomes the running mate. As it is now, the deputy was not subjected to popularity test within the party, so how can he command the respect of other party members when he was Audu's candidate. I don't know if I've made any sense at all but these are my views. thank you |

MTN just awarded me N6000 (2000 monthly for 3 months) |
I do not agree with your conclusion that INEC declared the results inconclusive to prevent his ruinning mate from taking over. Audu's death was not made public until much later so even if INEC knew, it is not within the terms of reference for INEC to announce his death or stop the collation of results because of a 'rumoured' death of a contestant. I think it will be best if we stop reading mischievous meanings to every action. |

"Green Horn" Shipper indeed. I bet the green horn shipper has returned the items to him which is why he is now flying the same items to Nigeria. The truth the way I see it is this, Lagtech started well by helping to pick items from craigslist and buying for people on ebay. Those orders were placed at different times and at no time did he have a large sum of money with him. When he urged us to use sea shipping, the money came in hundreds of dollars and it became a source of temptation to him. Unfortunately, he fell by using the money to meet his own presaging needs while lying to us that he had shipped the items. He must have reckoned that he would be able to raise fresh funds to eventually send those items. The thought did not materialize and so we are where we are today. Those itrems are in Lagtech's house gathering dust. @ Dominique Please ask Lagtech what happened to the items he claimed to have shipped in JULY 2014. This is the crux of the matter. |
ceasare:This further confirms my assertion that Lagtech did not ship anything by sea in July 2014. He merely collected shipping fees running into thousands of dollars and converted same to personal use. I first raised this issue when he sent me a laptop (supposedly shipped by sea) by air several months after he claimed to have shipped it by sea! Yet this man will want people to believe that he is not a scammer. My items are heavy books and trophies plus 5 laptops. The only way to get them here (exceptg for the laptops) is by sea. |
