O.p don't mind those ones arguing unreasonably.

They will never calm down and take a deep reflection of the situation of things in this clime.

Some of the gullible ones even tried throwing tribal cards.

When would the people get things right in this society.

PoliticsRe: Banana Island: The Stupidity Of Nigerians by xxxXXXxxx:
Aconomist:
Why are Africans willing to copy useless things from the west? drug use, fornication, creating bastard children everywhere. But when it comes to copying the good things from the outside world -- like skyscrapers, industry, cleanliness, etc. -- suddenly you are too proud to learn from superior cultures?

Nigeria is at a subhuman level of development. Take it from someone who has traveled the world. You are living like beasts.
The bolded is the major bane of the current societal reality in this country, people tend to give attention to frivolous things copied from the developed countries like entertainment and sport etc that should have only been given attention after getting the basics right;basics like standard education, industrialization, mechanized farming, tech etc.

It's the only way to have a semblance of genuine economic development. For example look at China, Korea and the Asian tigers they ain't reputed for their entertainment or sporting prowess, but for manufacturing and production at industrial capacity.

lt leaves a lot to be desired to know that entertainment,
although an important sector in its own right; is one of the few sectors of the economy that is enjoying some level of growth at the detriment of some other more important sectors like human capital development. That says a lot about the priorities of our people and our policy makers.

The bottom line is that it's only a developed country that can afford the kinda frivolousness that is common in this country.

PoliticsRe: Lagos State To Repair Portions Of Badagry Expressway by xxxXXXxxx: 11:50am On Mar 30, 2021
Aconomist:
The Lagos State Government is to begin repairs on the failed portions of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway on March 29, the Commissioner of Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, said on Saturday. Oladeinde, in a statement, identified the affected portions to include Maza-Maza, Signal Barracks and Mile 2.“The repairs will last for eight weeks, commencing from Monday, May 29. The job will be completed on May 31,” he said.

This comes after social media posts expose the subhuman conditions on the road.
Yes! you're right @ the bolded. There is a lack of sincere leadership in the country, would they say they weren't aware of the deplorable state of that road until you posted it in comparison on that Burkina Faso thread.
PoliticsRe: Why Are Nigerian Villages So Ugly Compared To Other Countries? by xxxXXXxxx:
Aconomist well done, even tho I must admit I don't like your disparaging description of the people.

You, RuudVanNisteroy and Raydos have brought up a lotta threads on this forum to enlighten folks on the level of mediocrity of urban and rural infrastructures in the country. I just hope most folks could hold similar view.

I think the problem is our level of civilization, we are still an evolving society, albeit;one evolving in a disorganized pattern. I just hope we change the pattern to a more organized one in order to have a better society.

CelebritiesKanye West Becomes Richest Black Man In U.S by xxxXXXxxx(op): 7:59am On Mar 18, 2021
Music producer, rapper, and fashion mogul Kanye West is the richest African American in the United States. Bloomberg reports that West is officially worth $6.6 billion, making him the richest Black man in America’s history.
Around the same time last year, West became a certified billionaire with the help of his successful apparel and sneaker brand, Yeezy and a new multi-year contract with Gap (NYSE: GPS +1.64%).

According to Business of Fashion, the Yeezy brand is valued at $3.2 to $4.7 billion. As for the new Yeezy Gap line which is set to be released later this summer, the new venture is expected to be worth more than $970 million.
Since West remains the sole owner of the Yeezy company, much of his personal net worth is attributed to his recent business decisions and the $1.7 billion that he pockets from additional assets, including his significant investment into his soon-to-be ex-wife’s Skims label.

An unaudited balance sheet of West’s finances has also revealed that West has $122 million in cash and stock, while his entire music catalogue is worth $110.5 million.
The Yeezy brand has seen a large boom despite the economic downturn caused by the pandemic. West’s sneaker sales at Adidas (XETRA:ADS.DE -0.87%) have seen an uptick of 31 per cent from last year, bringing in $1.7 billion in annual revenue. By the end of 2021, the Yeezy designer is expected to rake in $150 million from its Gap partnership.

Considering the rapper claimed to have been $53 million in debt less than half a decade ago, his feat is worth the recognition. However, it still remains a mystery as to how West’s billion-dollar company was eligible for a loan of $2 to $5 million under the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program.
