mansakhalifa:Yeah, Philomena it is. That doesn't amount to failure. I just wasn't recalling well. |
Why don't we like to bear name s that truly define our identity or that appropriately reflects the tribes we originate from. A German would name his child a Deutsch name as would a French and a Japanese person, but why do Nigerians find it cool to accept the naming of their children with not just a Jewish or English names, but mere words found in an English lexicon. Phenomenal16:Yes, and why phenomenal? Are you phenomena by real name, if not tell me what's so phenomenal about you that's yet to be unraveled by science ? Nigerians are fond of bearing funny names like Constance, Anointing, Phenomena, Blessing, Gift, Bright, Smart, Patience, Innocent etc You can add yours. |
clumsydyna:It's kinda my style. clumsydyna:Life is balance, relatively speaking, it's in a 5th world country like Nigeria such statement appears to hold sway. clumsydyna:Ofcourse that's pretty much known but you seem to have misunderstood me. I'm not seeking for an opposite sex that totally reflects me. That would be foolhardy to embark on, but a lady whose taste and predilections completes mine and whose action complements me, just as I, hers' See, what's important to me, is a no-negative female that brings peace of mind. Not one unduly attitudinal, antagonistic, self-entitled, emotionally-toxic, boring, bland, materialistic, mundane, unoriginal, egocentric and insolent drama queen, or those phlegmatic bimbos of the stolid type who can't do without having her screws loose at every unreasonable second. That "key" you called understanding is something I very much have an abundance of, but Nigerians tend to mistaken it for gullibility. clumsydyna:Yes, but my ọbẹ usually have this "ask for more" taste in quality. I hope my partner knows how to cook better than I am because I can't cook everyone food which I wish to know how. I'm unable to cook for a while now due to where I am currently wherein lacks the opportunity. clumsydyna:Truth is I don't like dogs, though I can tolerate them but you see cat ehn! They are just too hilarious, relatable and usually cute to adore. Felines are far more interesting than Canines, and also hygenically cleaner. clumsydyna:Lol! I'd rather you not spite me with a PlayStation-5, the specification is worth breaking the bank for. clumsydyna:So glad to know, I hope the aspect of rap musicals you like the rhymings, it takes lot of creativity to come up with sensible ones. What band/artists makes up your list of emo/rock. And are you Yorùbá and a Lagosian? |
clumsydyna:And yet all actions begins with a conversation, at least some sort of it, unless except in cases where the other party has aquiesced to be taken for granted prior to the enaction. clumsydyna:That's anyone, I'm not anyone, I'm someone who knows what he desires. clumsydyna:In as much as that's true, would she feel irked if I, as a way of loosening up, chose to play the reverberate heavy sounding So Cold by Static-X on a Saturday morning I don't think that's how it works although some might argue to the contrary. Even partners and couples in the same line of work get along fine. clumsydyna:I'm not cool with the word 'specifications', that's a word much suited for inanimate things like a device or machinery which the female is not, I'd rather you used 'feature' or 'attributes'. To me, I see it more like a predispositions she could have, and if not, won't feel irked by, better if she doesn't feel bothered which can be mutually appealing, as would someone with a specific kind of kink Interlocks with a partner who's into that same kind of kink. I'm a sucker for cats, and let's say she is only into dogs, it can still work, I don't like animes and soap-drama and those two are exactly what believes the TV was created for, we can still work, I can cook, but let's say she doesn't know how or lacks, it could still work. But you see those I listed....ha! o gbọdọ tàbí diẹ ninu rẹ. Speaking of cooking sef, I'll see if I can still find a pic of a fine ọbẹ I cooked few years back. Haven't had the chance or opportunity to ever since bit e still dey body. |
Phenomenal16:It has always been rampant but now at a Phenomenal rate raised to the power of 16. Nigerians are care free sex maniacs. |
What does this mean and how does one use it ? How is it different from the regular web hosting services readily subscribable or is it some sort of VPS, if yes, explain more. |
clumsydyna:It's like saying I enjoy driving Volvo cars, it doesn't mean I can't drive others. Ofcourse I listen to most genres too, Tecno, Rave, Grunge, RnB, Adult Contemporary like Brian McKnight, Carl Thomas to certain oldies like Barry White and few I cant remember for now, to many down right home based genres like Apala, Sakara, Fuji to old school dub reggae to some good old Calabar/Ghanian hi-life and even some raw shaku-shaku trashy tracks, yes I know how to enjoy them all with those who , but my all time favourite that connect to the soul still remains emo/gothic/hard rock and some gangster rap tracks the likes of D-12, Eminem, Ice Cube and Fela Kuti. The items listed sure are not the only criteria for accessing compatibility, and unless you were expecting me to state my favourite color and zodiac sign, you could have dropped your suggestion. |

TempUser:Wouldn't you take your advise if it were possible ? The truth is... those features that makes the list of our choices are usually found mixed with other features which doesn't appeal to us but may be someone else's choices. You would agree that as we grow older, we just have to make do with what's available provided he or she has at least some, if not all of those choices. |
Bullet01:What's funny ? |
If you're a lady who isn't all about ZeeWorld, Nollywood and Social Media but who... ...is a book reader. ...Enjoys intelligent discussions. ...Is ideacentric, broad-minded. ...can be innovative, and exploratory. ...appreciate emo/rock music ...creative/artistic. ...isn't materialistic. Most importantly....isn't religious. Be she an unbeliever but open-minded or even an atheist. Hit me up. |
mansakhalifa:If I may disagree a bit, the weapons of the Spartans' and Vikings would both still be considered ancient by historians if when compared to the advanced weapons of human destruction that exists in today's world, the weapons of the Vikings and Spartans were metal based and iron forged for one thing only, for melee attacks only. |
charixel:Yes but sometimes, been ruthless in a beserker manner as the Vikings does would win such a clash if it were occuring in a close combat battle, Spartans' strategic fighting won't help them as a horde of 300 Vikings would rip their bunch-up charge-defense-thrust tactic apart. Spartans Short sword at the hilt of the waist, armed with a long spear and heavy shield for protection. Vikings Armed with a Battle Axe and a small size thick shield, he is more mobile to execute a melee attack better than would a Spartan. I love everything Spartans, their discipline, training and viciousness when fighting but I think the Vikings would still be victorious because they are much beastly and hefty. Just my two cents, no insults. Modified: I didn't write my thought while having Ragnar Lothbrok's Vikings and Zack Snider's rendition of Frank Miller's 300 in mind. I wrote based on books I've read on them and documentary watched about them. Peace. |
Hi Boredom caught up with me two weeks ago, and so I finally found time to watch all the episode of the full complete seasons of Games of Thrones and I have this to say... I now see why every one of it fans really got hooked on it. It indeed reflect everything fundamentally wrong with the human nature and character flaws. I never liked how it ended though but it was worth the watch. As at the time it was reigning alongside Spartacus, I still wouldn't leave the latter for it. Despite it been a joyride, I still maintain that because it was all still based on pure human imagination. I'm someone who works of fiction hardly appeal to, which is why I would vote for the rare likes of Samurai Champloo than a Naruto, Bleach and ATOT anyday. Unless the fiction does a good job at blending borrowed elements from differing realistic time-period into a setting that was well contrived as was done by the beautiful minds behind Game of Thrones. Like I said, I've always got wind of GoT on a SFX/VFX magazine long before it took Nigerians by storm as at then. Cheers. |
ebijimi7:I'm looking for one too. But they have all been ruined by yawu-yawu boys. Even Facebook which used to be where anyone can connect to the world has now been made geo-specific to provide content based on the user's originating location IP. Drop your WhatsApp let's chat on some alternatives. Then you'd remove it later on. |
Iriruaga100:In deed, are they not the Gateway and Aviation Hub of West Africa ? Do they experience epileptic power outages there like it is here ? Are there insecurities there ? Are their education not far better than what's obtainable ? Oga dem use everything surpass this shit hole hundredfold. Ask your self how many Ghanaians are schooling here and how many Nigerians are schooling in their universities there, where are most Nigerian celebrities relocating to ? Ghana is a manufacturing company, here in Nigeria, various corrupt government does things to frustrate businesses, why didn't Twitter came to established their African headquarter here if Nigeria isn't as hyped as the giant of Africa, Ghana has proven to be the real giant for decades, giant is not by population size mind you. Small Japan are not up to thw whole America or Canada but is a world power with force to reckon with. Please abeg bẹ honest with your reply because I no more have time to engage in blind view argument many Nigerians love to start. Many Nigerians continue to swallow the lies that Ghana got electricity from Nigeria when it's all an utter lie. But that's Nigeria where people love to bask in lies and untruths and hate the just, the truths, honesty and fairness, why everything is chaotic. |
Ashirioluwa:I'm confused, and what do you mean by that, are you saying it bad to be tribalistic ? |
Iriruaga100:No, you're incorrect. Ghana doesn't hype nor does it boast off on something they haven't or can't achieved. Go and get your fact right. Nigeria problem isn't the people as you ignorantly claim, it's the government. Weren't the same people you call Nigerians already on their ancestral lands before the Nigeria identity was imposed on them by British colonials ? Were they trying to make money from just anything (whatever you mean by that). |
Philipponzaghi:Bro, it would do well for us not to expose Yoruba great minds for risk of been targeted for elimination as seen from recent pattern. Once Yoruba Republic is actualized, many genius would naturally surface. And besides, it's not as if she achieved something particularly special. She has the network to raise funds running into million in dollars, not as if she invented or came up with a paradigm shifting technology with million dollars IPO. Nevertheless, commendable. |
McSquishi:The ones here strongly believes their skin is a mistake, they spend fortune to buy and mix all kinds of chemicals just to have their skin bleached off in order to look like oyinbos or imitate the naturally-born light-complexion negroids here, never caring of the adverse effect on their body, thereby complicating their lives. The inferiority complex exhibited by the females here is insane, they hate to make traditional hair style and would save to raise million just to buy Brazilian, Peruvian, Indian and Martian hair attachment. Even the educated ones do the same. Your hair in the picture, is it attached ? Reply my PM |
chiommy123:If your ancestors weren't motivated by such act of superstitious barbarism, I wonder what could have informed your thought to advise so ? Could it be the effect of Abrahamic influence, provide reason please. |

They are believed to be special and have unique and spiritual capabilities like the gift of healing, extreme intelligence and physical strength. Known as Dada from Yoruba culture in Nigeria, these children are born with naturally matted or locked hair. The hair is similar to dreadlocks and is difficult to comb but the difference here is that Dada is more predestined and not by choice. Local people believe that their strength and overall good health are tied to their hair and it must therefore not be tempered with or groomed. The Igbos of Nigeria call them “Elena” translated to mean “Child King”, a name given to them largely due to the nature of their hair which is likened to a crown and also because of the belief of toughness such children possess. Dada children are known to be very fragile and must be taken good care of especially in their formative years. The Igbos observe many traditional rules when dealing with a dada. For instance, it is believed that when the hair of a dada child is combed or cut, the child would fall very sick and could even die. Apart from the mother of a dada, no other person must touch the hair of these children. If any other person mistakenly touches the hair, he or she must give money to the child or tie a cowry to their locks to prevent them from falling ill. Traditional Nigerian families further believe that their dada children are gods and offer them to the shrine. The chief priest now decides their fate. Some do not touch their hair and serve in the shrine for the rest of their lives and even take over from the chief priest when he dies. Others have their hair shaved off. Most of them have their hair shaved off before puberty or adulthood. Shaving a dada’s hair must, however, be accompanied with a special ritual which is usually performed by the chief priest presiding over the child. After the ritual is performed, the hair of the dada is collected into a pot of water containing special herbs and kept by the parents of the child. The potion can be used as medicine in case the child falls ill. It is believed that a child who doesn’t go through this ritual would die within three days after the shaving. In recent times, Christian parents would rather have a Catholic priest to do the shaving. It is believed, particularly, among Igbo communities that dada children are the reincarnations of deities and other great men and women, hence such children often lived in isolation. The trend is now changing as with the advent of modernization, many of them are now being largely accepted into mainstream societies. Families are also increasingly locking the hair of their children and hence it is generally hard to even distinguish a natural born dada and a made one. AfonjaMuslim:And believe you me, we have oyinbo and larubawa religions to blame for that....Yorubas youths of these days would continue to be reduced to materialistic hogs with no sense of self-worth nor philosophical principles. How does this topic deserve to be on frontpage ? What relevance does the useless information in this gossip talk serve on the progression of Nairaland visitors ? How does this qualify as a report worthy of note to the general public consumption ? There is a major thread here https://www.nairaland.com/6315079/first-nigerian-professor-computer-science which is titled First Nigerian Professor Of Computer Science, Olu Longe, Is Dead - Politics - Nairaland, a huge gem is gone from the black race...a topic that need to be on front page, but no it nairamarley and erica and laykon they keep putting there. Only goes to indicate that seun hires youths who belong to the category of wasted generation as moderator to managed his Nairaland. |
What a huge loss of gemstone to the black race of Africa! This genius of a man contributed to the body of knowledge on human kind, than all the Nigerian yeyebrities combined. He researched and proved beyond doubt that the binary system of the ancient Ifa corpus system is the basis of what computers are codified with. RiP great man. BlackfireX:Charles Babbage invented the first but crude form of computer in 1830, which was but build in 2002! This man single handedly proved that the binary system by which device computes their complex calculation in the CPU is basically in correlation with how the Ifa divination system works. We lost a great man on Monday...lalasticlala Front page. |

Who else would they rather prefer to blame the carnage on if not the #EndSARS protesters. Hoodlums, miscreants, looters, thugs, area-boys, homeless tramps etc are all protesters as far as the nigeria police is concerned. humilitypays:What has cowardice got to do with anything? Everyone knows what’s going on. The real Igbos and Yorubas understands what’s happening, their motive is to push the script of blaming the igbos for the destructions done by the hoodlums they unleashed who’s been bred on starvation, don’t know any better but are ready to do what they are told. Videos and talks of it are all over social media. People have woken up to their manipulations. |
BlackNeo: BlackNeo:Nigerians don’t even know what hacking means in the first place, so they just throw around the word anyhow like every other English word commonly misused by the majority. I could recall back in those years how some teens got hold of one tiny software which they used for pausing cybercafe time to extend the duration programmed ob the sold time-ticket, before you know it, the males teens in that community started hailing them by them hackers, that’s the Nigerian way. That’s around 2005/6, I used to be like - “do these fools know what hacking means” what should the Indians or Americans who made the software be called ? Somone formats laptop system at Ikeja, they begin to call him an engineer. Calling people who are bot licensed to sell /buy pharmaceuticals products Chemist when they don’t even deal in chemicals and so on and forth |
queenyetty09:I can explain a lot on this and why, not just in America but most countries were Nigerians have done so much bad things to note this country. Let me just say....Nigerians are to be blamed for these scrutiny for the misdeeds of the bad ones in America and other countries far outnumbers the earnest ones who are their to pursue one honest living or the other. |
ednut1:Sigh! Even if I take it upon myself to re-educate you by pointing out the fallacy inherent in that false supposition, and clarify the misconceptions of what Gods are, in relation to how people continue to misperceive them, there are still millions of you yous who would still make that ignorant statement. So stick to your force-fed lies. Everything is open to see clearly on the wall, all it needs is deep analytical thinking, but debating with atheists years ago for six years, I’ve now come to the conclusion that many atheists are just as confused as the confusion the theists keep causing. |
ArisingStorm:My understanding of demons, spirits and Gods is entirely different from the masses‘. There are normal people in this world who don’t take any psychotropics and yet still have a way of welcoming unclean thoughts or gravitate their thinking towards negativity. You think Charles Manson, Shekarau, Hitler and Pol Pot smoked pots? One important question to you....did you ever hallucinated during your weed-taking period? I tell all takers of hallucinogenic substances that if only they had just for once experience the kind of hallucination I experienced when I experimented with it out of scientific curiosity, only if it could take them to the realm of madness and were lucky enough to return back to reality of sanity, that experience alone, short or long is enough to deter anyone from taking anything illegal. One day I will write my self-experiment experience and post it on Nairaland for all to read and learn a lot. I’m talking of a very short and brief self-subjected experience. iamJ:In as much as you’re right, I can tell you authoritatively that Canabis Indica/Sativa may be good for some (compatible with their blood) but not good for all humans, I for one, I’m naturally super-high by default, so it completely rendered me off-sync so much that I saw things I can take the time out to elaborate on in another thread. What you don’t know is that, what some people need weed or any dependable substance for to get operating at a particular frequency, there are those of us who are already operating at that frequency and are begging to be normal. Taking weed or any psychotropics tend to catapults our state of mind to a realm where things will makes over-sense that it begins to crumble with so much senselessness and insane. Timohstew:Even as legal as they are in those states, they heavily controlled and regulated with laws and monitoring, a way of managing the addicted not to turn junkies. All those who smoke it have a card permit which allows them to smoke it recreationally on specific days, and not just anyhow as ‘IamJ’ puts it. Smashspesh:Are you saying wisdom can only come from weed ? Wisdoms comes from various mental stimulating sources like subjecting yourself to continuous knowledge searching, lessons from one’s subjective experience and experience of others, observation of the natural world, esoteric and esoteric sciences, great books and not religious books, deep insightful adages and proverbs of our past ancestors. |
Alero3Arubi:If it wasn't announced, we wouldn't know. FACT is parents, close-relatives and friends of other people like you and I do pass-on every day the world over, why must we care about those of celebs and yeyebs ? Are theirs special than yours and mine Think! |
