The truth is... those features that makes the list of our choices are usually found mixed with other features which doesn't appeal to us but may be someone else's choices.

You would agree that as we grow older, we just have to make do with what's available provided he or she has at least some, if not all of those choices.

The one thing that the Vikings might have over the Spartans is a more advanced weaponry, since they existed in a more recent/modern Era than the Spartans.

So, on that ground, they might take it.

Viking weaponry was thousands of years and miles ahead of that which the Spartans wielded in their fighting days. You can't compare both Eras when it comes to weaponry. No way!

My opinion.

If I may disagree a bit, the weapons of the Spartans' and Vikings would both still be considered ancient by historians if when compared to the advanced weapons of human destruction that exists in today's world, the weapons of the Vikings and Spartans were metal based and iron forged for one thing only, for melee attacks only.

300 Spartan will win.

Spartan is very strategic when it comes to battle.
Yes but sometimes, been ruthless in a beserker manner as the Vikings does would win such a clash if it were occuring in a close combat battle, Spartans' strategic fighting won't help them as a horde of 300 Vikings would rip their bunch-up charge-defense-thrust tactic apart.

Spartans
Short sword at the hilt of the waist, armed with a long spear and heavy shield for protection.

Vikings
Armed with a Battle Axe and a small size thick shield, he is more mobile to execute a melee attack better than would a Spartan.

I love everything Spartans, their discipline, training and viciousness when fighting but I think the Vikings would still be victorious because they are much beastly and hefty.

Just my two cents, no insults.

Hi

Boredom caught up with me two weeks ago, and so I finally found time to watch all the episode of the full complete seasons of Games of Thrones and I have this to say...

I now see why every one of it fans really got hooked on it.

It indeed reflect everything fundamentally wrong with the human nature and character flaws.

I never liked how it ended though but it was worth the watch.

As at the time it was reigning alongside Spartacus, I still wouldn't leave the latter for it.

Despite it been a joyride, I still maintain that because it was all still based on pure human imagination. I'm someone who works of fiction hardly appeal to, which is why I would vote for the rare likes of Samurai Champloo than a Naruto, Bleach and ATOT anyday. Unless the fiction does a good job at blending borrowed elements from differing realistic time-period into a setting that was well contrived as was done by the beautiful minds behind Game of Thrones. Like I said, I've always got wind of GoT on a SFX/VFX magazine long before it took Nigerians by storm as at then.

Cheers.

I'm looking for one too. But they have all been ruined by yawu-yawu boys. At least in America it's become taboo to be so ignorant, but you guys openly embrace & brag about your internalized inferiority.
The ones here strongly believes their skin is a mistake, they spend fortune to buy and mix all kinds of chemicals just to have their skin bleached off in order to look like oyinbos or imitate the naturally-born light-complexion negroids here, never caring of the adverse effect on their body, thereby complicating their lives. The inferiority complex exhibited by the females here is insane, they hate to make traditional hair style and would save to raise million just to buy Brazilian, Peruvian, Indian and Martian hair attachment. They are believed to be special and have unique and spiritual capabilities like the gift of healing, extreme intelligence and physical strength.
Known as Dada from Yoruba culture in Nigeria, these children are born with naturally matted or locked hair. The hair is similar to dreadlocks and is difficult to comb but the difference here is that Dada is more predestined and not by choice.

Local people believe that their strength and overall good health are tied to their hair and it must therefore not be tempered with or groomed.
The Igbos of Nigeria call them “Elena” translated to mean “Child King”, a name given to them largely due to the nature of their hair which is likened to a crown and also because of the belief of toughness such children possess. Dada children are known to be very fragile and must be taken good care of especially in their formative years.

The Igbos observe many traditional rules when dealing with a dada. For instance, it is believed that when the hair of a dada child is combed or cut, the child would fall very sick and could even die. Apart from the mother of a dada, no other person must touch the hair of these children. If any other person mistakenly touches the hair, he or she must give money to the child or tie a cowry to their locks to prevent them from falling ill. Traditional Nigerian families further believe that their dada children are gods and offer them to the shrine.

The chief priest now decides their fate. Some do not touch their hair and serve in the shrine for the rest of their lives and even take over from the chief priest when he dies. Others have their hair shaved off. Most of them have their hair shaved off before puberty or adulthood. Shaving a dada’s hair must, however, be accompanied with a special ritual which is usually performed by the chief priest presiding over the child.

After the ritual is performed, the hair of the dada is collected into a pot of water containing special herbs and kept by the parents of the child. The potion can be used as medicine in case the child falls ill. It is believed that a child who doesn’t go through this ritual would die within three days after the shaving.

In recent times, Christian parents would rather have a Catholic priest to do the shaving. It is believed, particularly, among Igbo communities that dada children are the reincarnations of deities and other great men and women, hence such children often lived in isolation. The trend is now changing as with the advent of modernization, many of them are now being largely accepted into mainstream societies. Families are also increasingly locking the hair of their children and hence it is generally hard to even distinguish a natural born dada and a made one.

What a huge loss of gemstone to the black race of Africa!

This genius of a man contributed to the body of knowledge on human kind, than all the Nigerian yeyebrities combined. He researched and proved beyond doubt that the binary system of the ancient Ifa corpus system is the basis of what computers are codified with.

RiP great man.

BlackfireX:
Are you sure he was a professor Was there computer in the 1920s
Charles Babbage invented the first but crude form of computer in 1830, which was but build in 2002! This man single handedly proved that the binary system by which device computes their complex calculation in the CPU is basically in correlation with how the Ifa divination system works.

We lost a great man on Monday...

On Monday we lost Professor Olú Lóngẹ́, Nigeria’s first professor of computer science. He joined the ancestors in the great beyond at 88 after a brief illness.

He was a great scientist who explored the relationship between Ifá and computer science. In his inaugural lecture in 1983, he posited:

"Ògòdò òwú s'òkè odò, ó p'ayín kekekeke s'ólóko.
A dífá fún alántàakùn,
Ọmọ a ṣ'ohun gbogbo bí idán bi idán.
Ifá bi idán bi idán, ni yio ṣ'ere temi fúnmi.
Ògòdò òwú s'òkè odò, ó p'ayín kekekeke s'ólóko
".

“Open cotton buds, on the other side of the stream, smiling invitingly to the farmer”
Divined for the Spider - the offspring of those who do all things in a wonderful way.
Ifa, in your wonderful way, bring all good things to me.
“Open cotton buds, on the other side of the stream, smiling invitingly to the farmer”.

In his words:Ifá divination system is like a spider’s web, artistically crafted. It is very attractive, like lily-white cotton, beckoning, on the other side of the stream to the farmer

However, even though the system is so attractive, it is also complex and puzzling. Thus to the casual observer, it is like magic.
An enquirer has to think hard to get at the meaning just as the farmer has to cross the stream to reap the cotton buds.” [macof]

RIP Professor.

Who else would they rather prefer to blame the carnage on if not the #EndSARS protesters.

Hoodlums, miscreants, looters, thugs, area-boys, homeless tramps etc are all protesters as far as the nigeria police is concerned.

humilitypays:
Yet some foolish Yorubas feel its only Lagos that the Nigerian youths poured their anger on, and even believed in their usual hatred filled minds that Igbos intentionally started the protest to destroy Lagos, instead of directly attacking the Hausa-Fulani army officer that sent and ordered soldiers to kill protesters (mostly Yoruba youths) at Lekki toll gate. Cowardice is a very big disease!

Whoever did them this, will suffer for 6000 years angry

Tinubu must go!! shocked
What has cowardice got to do with anything? Everyone knows what’s going on. The real Igbos and Yorubas understands what’s happening, their motive is to push the script of blaming the igbos for the destructions done by the hoodlums they unleashed who’s been bred on starvation, don’t know any better but are ready to do what they are told. Videos and talks of it are all over social media. People have woken up to their manipulations.

queenyetty09:
Sudden Change In US Visa Rules That Affects Nigeria
thenigerianvoice.com

The United States Government last Week, without prior information or notice, launched a New Immigration Policy called "Build America" It is a new merit base visa application system that seeks to increase the standard of scrutiny of visa application to prevent people of questionable reputation, economic immigrants and People without travel history from getting US visa.

Under this new rules, key changes have already been implemented without notice, as follows :

1. End of Drop box (automatic visa renewal without interview for existing visa holders is cancelled. Existing visa owners will now apply and be interviewed like everyone else when their visa expires )

2. Green Card to be scrapped
3. Applicants for B1 or B2 visas without adequate travel experience will now be automatically denied.

4. Applicant with monthly income below $1700 will now be considered as economic immigrants and denied.

5. Strong ties & attachments (compelling proofs of what can bring you back )to Nigeria now to be strongly emphasized.

If look at the attached picture, you will see No AOS stamped on the passport. AOS means Adjustment of Status.

Overstaying your valid stay invalidates your Visa immediately. This failure to maintain status could lead to future bars to entry to the USA or to you being removed from the USA. Violating the terms and conditions of your status also makes you ineligible for a Change of Status. You cannot change to marriage/school/work/health/asylum/etc.

Again, on the same passport you will see No.EOS. EOS means Extention of Stay.

If you are visiting the U.S. and find that you want to extend your stay beyond the date on your I-94, you CANNOT FILE ANYTHING AGAIN.

You cannot file Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status with USCIS.

What they are doing to people now in America is that they stamp your passport and write this shown below. Someone who landed in Atlanta and they stamped her passport No AOS, which means No Adjustment Of Status. The next one, No EOS means No Extension Of Status. So no longer extending your 6months stay or adjustment of status or getting married while you are there. Everyone has to be careful this people are not joking.

Trump isn't smiling. This is very serious. Going to America now is not going to be easy anymore.

There are normal people in this world who don’t take any psychotropics and yet still have a way of welcoming unclean thoughts or gravitate their thinking towards negativity. You think Charles Manson, Shekarau, Hitler and Pol Pot smoked pots?

One important question to you....did you ever hallucinated during your weed-taking period?

I tell all takers of hallucinogenic substances that if only they had just for once experience the kind of hallucination I experienced when I experimented with it out of scientific curiosity, only if it could take them to the realm of madness and were lucky enough to return back to reality of sanity, that experience alone, short or long is enough to deter anyone from taking anything illegal.

One day I will write my self-experiment experience and post it on Nairaland for all to read and learn a lot. I’m talking of a very short and brief self-subjected experience.

If I hear, in the realm of addictions, weed is a boy where sugar is

Every small thing una go give weed bad name, almost all the most innovative ideas for the past 20 years were inspired by weed, we have grown more over the last 20 years than ever before, so spare me that gist

Weed has no side effects, I dare you to point one, op is using cigarettes faults to paint weed, how can you be addicted to weed, for America to make it legal you should know that its harmless

Weed is the only recreational drug legal in America, think about that, a legal recreational drug, if weed wasn't good thing they will allow that

Leave weed alone, I feel for all the dumb ones that will believe you and never experience true vision
In as much as you’re right, I can tell you authoritatively that Canabis Indica/Sativa may be good for some (compatible with their blood) but not good for all humans, I for one, I’m naturally super-high by default, so it completely rendered me off-sync so much that I saw things I can take the time out to elaborate on in another thread. What you don’t know is that, what some people need weed or any dependable substance for to get operating at a particular frequency, there are those of us who are already operating at that frequency and are begging to be normal. Taking weed or any psychotropics tend to catapults our state of mind to a realm where things will makes over-sense that it begins to crumble with so much senselessness and insane.

Timohstew:

Its not legal in the whole of America. Its just legal in 11states. Are the other states dumb...? NO

That's shows,it has actions and reactions.
Even as legal as they are in those states, they heavily controlled and regulated with laws and monitoring, a way of managing the addicted not to turn junkies. All those who smoke it have a card permit which allows them to smoke it recreationally on specific days, and not just anyhow as ‘IamJ’ puts it.

Smashspesh:

Bros, weed dey condition guymen. It's not called #wisdomgrass for nothing. Stop raising unnecessary argument.

The downside is that, it's not for kids.

Are you saying wisdom can only come from weed ?

Wisdoms comes from various mental stimulating sources like subjecting yourself to continuous knowledge searching, lessons from one’s subjective experience and experience of others, observation of the natural world, esoteric and esoteric sciences, great books and not religious books, deep insightful adages and proverbs of our past ancestors.

I wouldn't want to derail this topic but what if you were not taught right?

You are just like a young child who was taught in school that "A is for Apple", there is nothing you can ever do to change that in his mind.

You have never seen your Jesus, Neither have you seen Satan. But because your mind has been conditioned to believe that "Satan is Evil", you accepted it wholeheartedly.

It's even worse in this part of the world where people don't question what they are being taught.

As a former lecturer in a federal institution, I saw alot of students accept principles without questioning them. Same principles we were taught in the days of "Cathode ray tube technology".

Lastly my son. Learn to live and let live.

Religion is not our problem.

We pitch our tent where we feel comfortable.

Even in your religion, you have denominations.

Be safe.
Bro, you don't need all of that as a respond to that brainwashed ingot, you could have just simply asked him to mention one person Satan the Devil killed in accordance to their so-called holy bible (none), meanwhile the national god of the Jewish people (yahweh), whom all Christians indirectly and ignorantly believe in, and pray to as jehovah (anglicized) murdered millions.

As for the topic.

One day I'ma write an incisive article on this yawu-yawu phenomenon expounding on how it has damaged this so-called country and how it continue to ruin our society just as much as decades of bad leadership and corrupt governance that birthed it.

I know of one case where he mediated on behalf of a Lebanese that killed a Hausa worker. Blood money was paid and the Lebanese fled.

@ sexylassie2... your comment describes them perfectly.

They come to Nigeria, make their money but if their kids dare "fall in love" with a Black, they are deadmeat.

They are very racist and the abuse their local workers suffer.... is another story.
FYI, Arabs have always been the enemies of the blacks (study deep history). Who were the first to enslave blacks for more than a thousand year long before the Europeans came and initiate what history categorized to be transatlantic slavery?

sexylassie2:

I love this your statement, just because some of them speak hausa or pidgin and wear nigerian cloths doesnt mean they are more nigerian than nigerians.

Check what they eat, who they marry?and where they travel to often, where their children go to.they hardly mix with Nigerians. many of them hate Nigerians. they just tolerate us

How many lebenese marry nigerians, or even eat nigerian food or live with nigerians.

It is easy for a Nigerian to be deceived by a foreigner, just because they want to learn our culture or wear our cloths doesn't make them Nigerian.
You're correct. Good point. I'd like to address the aspect of not just the Lebanese, but all other kinds of Arabs in Nigeria speaking Hausa.

The so called Hausa language as spoken today is not actually the original native language of those who should be indigeneously referred to by... ? instead of the HAUSA identity which was created by the jihadist Fulanis; a subset of the Arabs who enslaved blacks since the 7th century. Which is why the so called Hausa language today is rife with 70% Arabic words and speech as spoken by it current speakers, majority of who are unaware of this fact of centuries old influence of Arabism on northern Nigeria and to some extent Yorubaland.

NB.
The 'bastard descendants' meaning Yaribanza (Yoruba) and Hauzawa are of Fulani Arab origin as recorded down by the British colonial who sided with them, why we chose not to reject these imposed false identity on us is a topic for another thread.

Thank you.

Yes and no

Modern medicine can not bestow anti bullet proof on human nor hold rain from falling or induce it to whereas traditional medicine can do effortlessly.

Traditional medicine on the other hand can not scan a pregnancy to know the sex of a child as effortlessly made possible science and technology.

However, I'll conclude that what traditional medicine can do, modern medicine can do better but where modern medicine stops is where traditional medicine begins.

Religion / Re: Is Planned Repentance True Repentance? by y3mi(m): 3:50am On Apr 12, 2020
So if a shekarau or an anders berin brevich or an Osama bin ladin hatched an elaborate plan to murder thousands with the intent of repenting thereafter, so those innocent lives are saara, gone like that for as long as the repentance is accepted because an holy book skydaddies is said to have made it so, how religious nuts think shows how abrahamic idols are borne of imagination.

I've written articles whers I proved the dreadful ebola endemic back then was eventually chased off by the onísęsé (local traditionalist) but the useless and corrupt Nigeria govt. got the credit as usual.

Check my past post and see where I've dropped comments long before this corona virus became hot buzz in Nigeria where I constantly wrote about Sønpánà, one of the Yoruban Gods: a natural force personified as a powerful deity to preside over all things bacteria, virus, mirco-orgsnism and bio-warfare.

You will be amazed to realize that Yoruba juju medicine can cure all of the disease and ailment in the world from hiv/aids to cancer. It is a fact. It is those who find them for the cure that knows while the rest in their blistering stupidity continue to look down on ancient traditional legacies that predate even those of the egyptianw, chinese, Greece, Mesopotamia not to talk of the new kids on the block artificial religi9n of Christianity and Islam whose followers' only way of proving their idol gods is thru fear, war, threat and bloodshedding ever since their gory inception.

Zipho Tefu,
Future president at some unfortunate country.

Answer:

Less infected? Yes.

Less affected? Heck no!

I’m speaking from the perspective of a South African, one of the more developed African countries which has just gone into lockdown, and let me tell you something many people from first world countries fail to understand.

Social distancing is a privilege.

Read that again.

The ability to isolate yourself from those around is a privilege many people have taken for granted. It means you have a house large enough to do so. I’m privileged enough to practice social distancing. Something that isn’t possible when you live here:

That’s the Alexandra township in Johannesburg South Africa.

Hand-washing is a privilege too.

It means you have access to running water. Do you think there are bathrooms in the shacks pictured above?

Hand-sanitizer is a privilege.

It means you have money to buy it.

LOCKDOWNS ARE A PRIVILEGE.

It means you can afford to be at home. Many South Africans live paycheck to paycheck. Many South Africans have families to feed and no income to do so. Many South Africans will have to make the decision between starving to death at home or going outside and getting the coronavirus or worse, getting arrested.

Most of the ways to ward off the coronavirus are only accessible to the affluent.

Transport services such as taxis have been shut down. This creates a problem for those living in places such as this:

To travel to the town and stock up on basic essentials or receive medical attention.

The South African economy is crumbling fast. Much faster than the American economy which went into lockdown before us. The Rand to the Dollar is plummeting at an incredible rate. Small business owners such as my parents will have no income during this indefinite time period.

And don’t get me started on education.

All educational facilities have temporarily shut down and will soon implement online classes, including my university. This creates a problem for those without internet connection who may now fail their year. Or those who cannot afford to buy a laptop.

And as aforementioned, South Africa is one of the MOST developed African countries.

Many Africans don’t have access to or can’t afford healthcare in this time. In essence, a disease that was spread by the rich as they flew around the globe will now kill millions of the poor.

And some Americans are busy complaining about their “ruined” spring break.

I miss the homies too, but I’ll miss my grandma a lot more.

Is Africa less infected? Yes.

Is it less affected? HELL NO!
