anyone notice that the inscription on his hat is upside-down? Can anyone say "doctored photo"? ![]() |
kolitos: Did you by chance note when that post was first put up? Is it possible that within then and now, that I have changed? Besides, what do you define "harsh" to mean? I like being honest and the last time I checked, it isn't something you take with panadol - it hurts! |
I will get to it within the next 24 hours. Sorry for any inconveniences. Besides, it took you 3 days to send d email ![]() |
kehers, I don't think you should go into developing a web app with that mentality. By so saying, you are implying that only people in Nigeria will view/want to harm your app. That's just like saying that since the game of mancala is an african one (what is mancala? google it ), that nothing should be done to alter it in terms of making the game better.Always code with the greater picture in mind. In the end, you will be a better programmer for it. |
I guess we will agree to disagree. For example, the joomla project I did wasn't something I just did, out of the box. I actually modified code to get it to do what I wanted it to do. Not everyone has the skill set to understand where to go to change, say CSS or even PHP for that matter. For example, I remember an instance where I wanted to modify CSS but on the admin panel, Joomla said the file was unwriteable. I had to log in to the actual cpanel and navigate to the file, change permissions and then download/upload my files from there. And guess what? When I tried to do the same thing about 10 minutes later, again, the file was labelled as, "unwriteable" in Joomla's admin panel. Again, I had to go into the main cpanel to make changes. I kept asking myself how many would have even thought about doing this, how many would have ended up throwing up the towel and saying, "joomla sucks!" So again, if you don't agree, that is fine. Based on my personal experiences though, I will beg to agree to disagree. |
kolitos, I personally don't think there is anything wrong with this. I mean, what of Joomla, Drupal et al? The key to using open source is not only using it as-is but understanding the underlying code and modifying it to suit your needs. Therein, IMHO, lies the power of open source. I just implemented my first joomla site and I must admit, I respect its capabilities. What would have taken me a week or 2 to get done from scratch (yes, it actually takes me that long cos I take my time to do plan what I am going to do and actually set aside time for nothing but testing ), I was able to get done in 4 days.Don't get me wrong, I hate it when the use of such open source is blatant (Like in this case, they didn't even bother to get rid of the joomla favicon and the title still reads, "Welcome to the frontpage" but you have to admit, such open source has made our lives easier, generally speaking. |

dhtml, it is possible but the point of at least my code is not to provide answers based on his table structure but for the purpose of understanding where he needs to go. The poster should be able to infer from our respective code snippets what he needs to do: 1) Get the number of rows 2) Filter the results, if applicable 3) group or order the results, if applicable. |
check my profile. By the way, you probably are aware of this, but for the record, even 10 * 10K probably won't cut it. I await your email/YIM. |
he he bugs, na so o. If I drop the names of bobos taking style to get into my panties, there would probably be on 10 or so ppl left on this board ![]() |
for one, sanitize your form input. |
yeah Dual Core, stop being a catalyst (enhancing a fight while remaining unchanged after the fight). It was a simple misunderstanding or, you want me to fight you? ![]() |

remo: As I said: it is as simple and effective as it gets.Meaning: Nothing earth shattering ![]() |
dhtml/remo: Kill? I don't think so. My reputation precedes me, I have a bunch of satisfied clients, and my Unique Selling Point (USP) is quality which again, one can obtain by looking at what I do. I am also always staying up to speed on the latest technologies and incorporate same in all my projects. Of course, these come at a price. |
remo: huh? ![]() You see, I have noticed one thing with this board in general - you post something that will involve actual thinking, and some choose not to comment or ask rhetorical questions. The minute you do, "site review", then the "do u know who i am?" crowd suddenly wake up from their slumber. Hmm dhtml: u sure u r not yahoo yahoo and the thing denied your IP? Just kidding. I just tried and it is as up as it was when I posted several hours ago. Refresh and see what happens. |
webdezzi, interesting - I happened to google and found these 2 sites: http://www.nigeriapolice.org/ http://police.gov.ng/ I am more inclined to go with the .gov.ng one though. Kai! Upon all d N20 these guys dey take for bribe, dem no fit put up better website |
http://www.nigeria-consulate-atl.org/content/index.php Sure, it has a few quirks here and there (I will let you find out those ) but overall, it is as simple and effective as it gets. |
So I was just doing random googling when I stumbled upon: www.makeyourvotescount.org I was just about to give them kudos of sorts for making it simple and for the concept when I decided to click around. After being able to submit a blank form and after not being able to get to certain pages (like photos) because the text wasn't clickable, I said to myself, "perhaps they should change their name to makeyourwebsitework.org". What do you all think? ![]() |
he he webdezzi,I wonder how many of them know that the NPF has a website. |
It doesn't answer your question? You sure you are talking to me? I didn't even say anything. Ato mmong? ![]() |
Again, assuming an exchange rate of 1 to 100, 10k will be $100. This will only last me 1 month's worth of electricity bill. Now, please note that I didn't say I will accept 10K. What I did say is, for the right amount of money, I will do just about anything. In other words, for 10K, no but for 500k, yes ![]() |
There are plenty of tutorials at jquery.com - just search for the right plug-in, thatz all. I haven't used it myself but I know it is there. with libs like jquery, the good thing is, you just download the necessary files, modify to suit your needs and you are up and running in no time. Good luck! |
why are you double-posting? Also, explain in more detail what you mean by "free email service". Do you mean the ability to create as many email addresses as possible or you are actually hosting email accounts like yahoo. |
hmm, why didn't you refuse the job, based on principle? I have done so in the past, even though I needed the money. Tis best to walk with you head up high than to look down in shame. There is nothing wrong with that. Now, if you don't deliver, you will be seen as a fraud. Good luck to you sha. |
inhisimage: For the ** right ** amount of money, I will do just about anything ![]() |
dual: good one LOL bug24: I was actually there last, 2 years ago. Besides, though I am not there physically, I am very, very much on ground, probably moreso than you who is there, I can assure you. Lord willing, I should be there this year. I try to make it a bi-annual affair ![]() |
This is what I see in IE7.0.6001.18000. Typically, standard practice is to get at least 90% or more done b4 a review. Where that isn't possible, you highlight what is done so that ppl won't waste their time to test what isn't ready. Remember, a *good* review takes time and time is money and you aren't paying us for our time ![]()

Letz rephrase the question: Question: Can I buy a benz? Answer: Sure, provided you can afford it. You can equally buy a tokunbo. At the end of the day, both will take you to your destination though one is more reliable than the other. Also, one will turn heads more than others. One will make you feel much better than the other. One will have more features than you probably need. Having said all that though, again, they will both take you to your destination. Drive the one you can afford and need, not the one you want. Does that explain things better? ![]() |
b/w image mis-alignments, javascript errors and forms not validating, i suggest you take another look at the site (as in testing) before unleashing it for review. I will give you credit for keeping it simple though. Very neat. By the way, I noticed all pages are of the form index.php?software, etc. Y is this? Don't tell me you have one big file that is conditionally generating content. That isn't good from an abstraction and seo point of view for one. Sam milla says it is the work of a pro amateur. I was laughing at that remark but looking at it again, it makes sense. The site is clean but it is full of rookie mistakes, no offense. Get back to work and ring us back when you have taken care the basics. |
kehers, u hv a convincing point but for now, i will abstain. b/w facebook, myspace, nl, my work, etc, it's just too much. My head pounds more than my heart now ![]() |
